Glad to hear your visit went ok. Not happy about your health though. Maybe you should start considering yourself more. I know in this day and age you need to work but its hard to work when you aren't feeling the best.
I had a busy weekend with J14 up . J23 was also home from Queenstown and then A,S and the kids arrived home. What with Easter Egg Hunts and family dinners it was a lot of fun. SIL flys out tomorrow though. I did a bit of gardening this morning and rested all afternoon ha ha. Ive stopped my new meds. I was having nightmares as well as night sweats. I was supposed to trial it for a month but I'm not putting up with that. I felt so nauseated as well ugh. Flu vacines this week. I'm two thirds through the last shawl and I'm bored with it ha ha.

OMG, bored doing a shawl! Are you going to finish it? We haven't heard about our flu vaccines yet. I had a great day yesterday bringing in all the pumkins and some more carrots from the garden, I made date scones and a date loaf (not that I need to those), did most of the bookwork for the shop and crocheted a dolls blanket. See, what I mean, one day I can't lift a finger to save myself and the next I'm off and running. It's just weird. After nearly applying for a new job a couple of weeks back I have decided to hang in there and if I. retires in 3 years I will too and perhaps just keep some supervision clients and do some book work hours for community groups.

Yes I think it is best to hang on in there until you retire. Something else could be even more stressful. I also know what you mean about good days and bad days. Yes my GP said the flu vaccine is out this week. I'm going tomorrow. Apparently they are late this year with delivery lol. I will get the shawl finished but not tonight ha ha, I spent 5 hours doing paperwork and making phone calls re info for our Trust today. Ha even the IRD could not understand the new rules regarding Overseas Investment. Hello Kiwis here no income derived overseas!!!!!! I have all these stupid forms to fill out and if they have not trained their staff how the devil are they supposed to advise us? Also our Bank that we have the Trust Account with is incompetent. My name was spelt wrong and so was my street address so I have to go in there tomorrow and get it all corrected. My new ink cartridges haven't arrived yet so I have a mountain of copying to do when it does come sigh.

makerealbany - 2018-04-04 22:40:00

That paperwork sounds like a nightmare! I have an early breakfast meeting this morning then loads of paperwork, like you, to get done before the end of the week. I can't believe it's the end of another financial year. I had another funding application declined this week, sigh. Yet another trust that prioritises sport over community assistance to families. They give 80% of their money from Pokie machines to sport which doesn't leave a lot for community. I have most of our major funding to do this month.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-05 06:46:00
8405

Wow that's a huge percentage to Sport. Its unbelievable!!!!! I'm up at 5 in the morning as I have a Meeting up North 4 hours away sigh. So I'm off to bed. No knitting tonight ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-04-05 21:30:00

We were in bed by then, too. LOL. I've been knitting teddy jerseys LOL. Not very challenging but pretty cute once they are on the teddys. I did bunnies in jerseys before Easter which were quite popular. Going to the night trots at Addington tonight with daughter S and I. Haven't been for years. Tomorrow is the last night for Speedway so hopefully the weather holds up for the firework display. Funeral to go to in afternoon first tomorrow and then a family reunion lunch for all I.'s cousins on Sunday. Big weekend so maybe not so much knitting. I need to get some borders on 2 towel sets for work raffles, too.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-06 06:10:00
8407

Races were fun! LOL. But my horses always seemed to at the back of the field. LOL. Funeral this afternoon but too cold here for me to go to Speedway tonight, I think. I might watch Outlander DVDs and knit instead. Just booked tickets to go to Weber Circus: Adrenaline for Friday night next week. That was one of I's choices on our bucket list. He has also added Speedway in Auckland, Kelly Tarlton's and the Supercars in Hamilton. I might get to visit you this time. LOL. I'm glad he's getting into the swing of it too, haha. We've done so much different stuff this summer with more to come this year.

Got home late Friday night but a very successful day. Then Sat I was off at 4 in the afternoon to Dinner and my granddaughter A's Show. Had a great night and got home at 12.30. Today I had shopping and a visit to my son. Tonight I washed and blocked two shawls so off to bed now as early start in the morning lol. Good for you getting that bucket list started. I have often thought of starting a new one. Did one at 50 and completed that ha ha. Twenty years later I should start again.

makerealbany - 2018-04-08 22:45:00
8409

I so agree about the Bucket List. We are having a ball, I have to say. It's been such a busy weekend I need to go to work for a break this week. LOL. Not that that will happen being the last week of the school term. I;m speaking to the 2nd year Bachelor of Social Work Students at ARA this afternoon. I have the parking sorted, now if I can just find the right room I should be good. It's the housekeeping stuff stresses me out not the actual speaking. LOL. I will be back at Ara on Wednesdasy for the next step of my Leadership Course and I am hoping I have the parking sorted for that as well.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-09 06:31:00
8410

I installed a Parkmate Ap so I can just drive in to the car park and log in on my phone then I log out when I leave. lol I was sick of putting my card in . etc.
Took the dogs to get groomed and so glad I'm not paying 130 for two dogs. early start at 5 tomorrow. A is off early until late tomorrow night. I've been sorting the school holiday diary ugh ha ha. Only knitted two patterns tonight.

makerealbany - 2018-04-09 23:07:00
8411

I am still resisting having a smartphone! LOL. So no parking ap for me. I. always has the latest Smartphone and it costs us a fortune when he doesn't need it. I am fast getting to the stage I do need one for work but can't put the cost on them at present and or me. I have been to quite a few meetings recently where everyone (except me) took out their phones at the end and took photos of the notes on the whiteboard!!!! At this stage someone usually types them up as well and sends me them but who knows in the future. Sigh. I have started a weel pink lacy cardy as my project this week.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-10 06:18:00
8412

It's so cold and there's so much rain! So not looking forward to my next Leadership workshop this morning as parking is a nightmare and I'm going to get soaked from the car to the building at the Polytech. Sigh. Looks like Winter is just around the corner. The lady who asked me to do all those dolls clothes over summer has been back again with a new doll and another order. LOL. There will be no stopping her if she ever has children. I'm struggling to stay awake in the evenings to work on the cardigan I need to finish first.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-11 06:21:00
8413

I hope you are ok, makerealbany, with the weather so bad up there again? It was near white out conditions here yesterday lunchtime while I was driving from Polytech back to work because of the hail. When we tried to break it felt like we were skating on top of the hail stones but within 10 minutes it would clear and be fine again. Weird weather!

grizzly4 - 2018-04-12 06:21:00

Well two days and nights without power and phone was not fun. Lucky we have a tank at the top of the property so can get gravity fed water. We lit the fire and we have gas cooking in the main house. Our friends and neighbours had no water or heating so they came here with their 3 children as their house was freezing, I had charged my phone and powerbank before the storm. Just recharged them as we are expecting another storm. Sil is going to buy us a generator when he comes home as we need it. There are still lots of homes without power. We had tree branches break on large trees over our second driveway but our friend got the chainsaw out and sorted those. The Spa pool was still warm after two days without power so all the kids jumped in there last night lol. I am in winter woollies and Paku has his doggy jacket on . Got to dash as I have to hoover and mop before this storm. No Knitting, Sigh

makerealbany - 2018-04-12 18:53:00
8415

Wow that was pretty dramatic for your family and others up your way! Hopefully the next isn't so hard on you. We have sunshine here today but not very warm. I hope the change is heading your way.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-13 07:53:00
8416

There are still so many homes without power up here its dreadful. Even a couple of roads from us still no power. We have offered to help others with showers and washing. All the power line guys are working through the nights and they must be exhausted as well.
It was windy here today and a bit chilly but not as cold as previous days.

makerealbany - 2018-04-13 22:29:00
8417

I always sorry for the technicians caught up in these things too. They are never going to keep everyone happy. Nice offer re showers and washing.
We went to the Weber Brothers Circus last night. Absolutely amazing!!! The time just flew by it was thart good. I. is racing tomorrow but I'm thinking I might have a day to myself here at home. DIL is giving it a go tomorrow too as son S is still not healing so can't get on his bike yet. DIL has been talking to one of the otheer wives about daughter S and I just feel really uncomfortable knowing that's going on behind my back. I don't think I. is happy with my decision but oh well, I'm not having my wekend ruined by petty gossip.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-14 09:23:00
8418

That is a good idea I would feel very uncomfortable as well with that carry on. DIL should have more sense. I would stay at home and enjoy my day. A and T went to the final night of their niece A's Show tonight, They were so proud of her and enjoyed socializing with the Director and other performers after the Show. I had the three grandchildren and we played Monopoly after tea, J won the most money to his delight and the older ones frustrations ha ha, They all went to bed at 7,30 and were asleep by 7,45. I knitted for awhile after I cleaned up. Nearly finished the green shawl and I have seen another shawl pattern I want to try next ha ha,

makerealbany - 2018-04-15 00:31:00
8419

Sounds like a lovely evening! And you are so patient doing those shawls. LOL. As you can see I'm having a bit of a late start this morning although I have cleaned the shower and stripped the bed before having some breakfast while I'm on here. I'm trying to get the audit organised for the shop today, some borders done on towels for a raffle at work and a wee pink cardy finished. Fingers crossed. I'm not in the shop for the next 2 weeks because of early starts at work during school holidays so my Monday tasks are taking over my weekend. At least the sun is shining.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-15 10:12:00
8420

It wasn't too bad here today. It was a lot warmer than the last few days. I had the grandchildren making cupcakes and icing them lol. Such bright coloured icing to their respective mother's horror. They had sprinkles and chocolate hail sprinkled on as well. My kitchen looked like a bomb site afterwards but at lest they were happy. Running around outside as we hosed the paths. I took K8 home late this afternoon and it was still warm. He told me that ' There are so many idiots on the road Nan. You concentrate on your driving and Ill just admire the scenery and check out all the fallen trees" I chuckled to myself at his mutterings. 'OMG what a mess, they need to repair that fence or the sheep will get out, etc.
He is a real character and so like his late Dad. He tilts his head to the side when he wants to say something really serious exactly as his Dad did. Walks the same way and is now fussing over his clothes. Lol.
All in all a good day.

makerealbany - 2018-04-15 23:26:00
8421

It sounds like a wonderful day - well done you! I got my bookwork done, a set of towels have fabric borders and I only have the bands to do on the cardy. And I watched the Rugby 7's finals. Great games.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-16 06:21:00
8422

I must admit I have not watched TV for ages. I went and had the shingles Vaccine today. I had to be clear of immune suppressant drugs for 6 months. Also no chemotherapy for 3 months. So I got it free as well.
Did my shopping and came home lightheaded. I had to wait in the surgery for 20 mins after duh. Nurse told me that was in case they had to resuscitate me. I had to laugh. Anyway E6 arrives tomorrow and A is gone from 6 until 8 for two days so the kids and I will have fun. 5 patterns on the shawl to go . I only did two tonight. The last bit always seems to take longer lol.

makerealbany - 2018-04-16 23:09:00
8423

WE said our farewells to our last cat last night. She hasn't eaten for a few days and looked miserable, the cancer in her eye looked worse, too. NOw it's just I. and me. THe house feels a bit empty all of a sudden. I.'s eldest sister also passed yesterday afternoon so it wasn't a good day all round.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-17 06:56:00
8424

How sad for you. You will miss your cat. Big hugs. Yes the house will feel empty without Puss. Please give I lots of hugs too. It must be hard losing a sibling. T's Tomcat broke his leg today and so they are all upset up there. $ 2000 for the surgery. Honestly I told her to change her vet but she wont and they are a chain so they don't even operate there. They will take Tomcat elsewhere. I was up at 4 because my arm swelled up where I got my Vaccination. Took painkillers and started my day. I cant go back to bed once I wake up these days. I'm off to bed now though. Another early start with the grandchildren.

makerealbany - 2018-04-17 22:42:00
8425

Yikes that Vet is expensive! And your arm sounds sore. You need a hug too. It's the little things we are in the habit of doing like leaving my bedroom cupboard door open as Mac had an extra bed in there and having to leave doors open a little bit on cold days so she could move from room to room. No more drafts this winter. We have had our first 2 nights in bed without cats in 18 years, can you imagine how big the bed feels! I. always had at least one cat sharing his armchair in the evenings, he looked a bit lost last night. Oh gosh I need to change the subject.... I actually finished a wee cardy last night that has taken over a week to do. I am so slow these days.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-18 06:07:00
8426

I still haven't finished that shawl. No time to knit tonight. Just finished paperwork and I am going to bed after a full on day. Took my grandchildren to Peter Rabbit. They loved it.

makerealbany - 2018-04-18 22:11:00
8427

I have heard good feedback about that movie, too. Our Holiday Programme is going to see Early Man tomorrow. All things considered it's been quite a productive week so far. Today I have the first of 2 additional coaching sessions in regards to the Strengths Finder assessment I did 2 years ago. These sessions have been included as part of the Leadership training I'm doing. I'm working on yet another set of dolls clothes for the customer that I have already done 4 sets for. I have just about finished a pair of leggings so far. She just keeps buying dolls.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-19 06:00:00
8428

Well my granddaughters don't play with their dolls anymore sigh. Had another busy day. They certainly keep me on my toes ha ha. I finished the green shawl tonight. What to do next ha ha, I would like to knit something small again. A has been coaching all week. Its a wonder she doesn't lose heer voice ha ha. Great value these Coaching sessions.

8429

I am so glad it's the weekend. Phew, what a week it's been. Having said that we have flu vaccines this morning, a 65th this afternoon and I. is racing again tomorrow. I wouldn't mind going but I will be all peopled out by tonight and have shop stuff to do plus groceries tomorrow. And dolls clothes to finish. LOL. I've finally got my engagement ring back from Michael Hills and the diamond is safely back where it should be.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-21 08:56:00
8430

Yes I'm glad it the weekend ha ha. E6 went home today chatting all the way. I spent the afternoon cleaning out the bedroom and resorting things. Craft stuff everywhere. I found dress ups all over the place. Tomorrow Ill tackle the kitchen and lounge. I also have to clean the car. Little J got carsick and threw up sigh. I have sprayed with carpet cleaner, etc but that darn smell lingers even with Scentsy car deodorant , Every time I opened the car windows to air it out it rained grrr. Anyway hopefully tomorrow will be a fine day. My Flu Vaccine ached for three days ugh. I put my gold bracelet into Michael Hill to get repaired and it cost a fortune. Guess what its broken again. It cost $1000 but it is a hollow Bangle type with a clip that fits inside. Its the clip that breaks. I'm over it now so will get it melted down and get another thin bangle made. Glad your ring is ok.

makerealbany - 2018-04-22 00:24:00
8431

We had a lovely afternoon yesterdasy with some of I's family. Our kids had not been invited because they are not getting on. I'm angry it's come to that but was relieved to be able to enjoy the afternoon. Came home early enough to avoid the storm that was forecast but it was pretty shortlived and all dry for I's racing today.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-22 08:40:00
8432

It was a good day here. Showers on and off but I managed to get everything done including hovering the car and airing it out. My youngest son is arriving back home tomorrow so we are all excited. I'm undecided with my next knitting project. I had a pattern put aside and I cant find it ha ha. In my big clean up Ive missed it somewhere. My sister is recovering nicely from her surgery but my cousin had a triple by pass and she will take a lot longer. So I will need to pick my sister up for the meeting next Friday. Its a Court Ordered Meeting for a dispute we have in the Maori Lane Court so she has to attend as her vote gives us the strength to block the dividing of some of our land, Darn Politics and Self centred People who just want to line their pockets with cash and ignore the future for their Children and Grandchildren. I have 4 Court Actions we are dealing with and no 5 is coming up. My mother told me I would have lots of problems to deal with lol. No wonder she would never attend a Hui without me. Sigh.

makerealbany - 2018-04-22 22:06:00
8433

Your Mum knew to take you, I hope you are getting the long term support you need for all this too. It sounds really stressful.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-23 06:13:00
8434

It can be lol. I have 2 sisters as well as lots of nieces, nephews and cousins who support me which is great but I still have to lead.
Bonus after the excitement of my son arriving home after two years away M and J are trying to show him everything, and my Foxie all over him like a rash ha ha, I found my pattern. Alas Son wants a thick black Beanie so I got half way through that tonight. Had to put my pattern aside safely this time .

makerealbany - 2018-04-23 22:31:00
8435

And what's the pattern for? LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-24 06:18:00
8436

Its for a Cardigan for M10 lol. She picked it herself. Up at 5,30 so I'm off to bed ha ha

makerealbany - 2018-04-24 23:38:00
8437

I hope the rain held off for you this morning. I'm afraid I stayed in bed, though my thoughts were with those that didn't. Mac's ashes are back at the vets to pick up and they are open a few hours today. I will be so pleased to have all the girls back together and safe here at home again. I never realised how much I used to talk to them LOl. Lots of talking to myself now.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-25 10:09:00
8438

Productive day yesterday, I have to say. It wasn't that warm but I still managed to get the kitchen curtains and 3 sets of nets washed and dryed. Cleaned out the cupboard where we kept the catfood and now it holds my jam jars, not that I've made any for awhile. My shoes now fit in the bedroom cupboard where the extra cat bed was. It's amazing how much space is asctually taken up by having pets. I never begrudged them an inch of it but it's interesting the extra space I have now. LOL. It feels a bit odd having a day off in the middle of the week, too. If it hadn't been the school holidays it would have been good to take off the week or at least the THursday and Friday as well.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-26 06:01:00
8439

Last day of the school holidays! Does that give you some respite? Term 2 starts with a pretty full on week for me next week. Oh well at least it goes faster when I'm busy. Weather doesn't look great this weekend. If it stays clear enough I. will be out working on one of the race tracks most of the weekend leaving me to my own devices. I need to start clearing the gardens as everything is dying off very quickly now.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-27 06:09:00
8440

I hope everything is ok with you, makerealbany?

grizzly4 - 2018-04-28 08:59:00
8441

Sorry I had to go to Rotorua . Dropped off two grandsons in different parts of Hamilton on Thursday after weaving my way through so many roadworks for miles. I d get on a clear road and think " Wonderful" and then another lot would emerge lol. I stayed the night in Hamilton and then picked up my sister P . Drove to Rotorua picked up Sister E and went to our Court Hearing. It went very well and we had good outcomes. 10am to 2,45 with a 5 minute break ugh. We were all starving after that so went and ate. Dropped off E and had a cup of coffee. It was 7 by the time we got to Hamilton. Another break and I finally got home at 11.30. Three crashes , more road works and lots of boy racers tearing up the motorway. Police were very busy and so were ambulances. Today I am maxing out ha ha.

makerealbany - 2018-04-28 10:56:00
8442

Gosh, I should hope so, I didn't realise the hearings were that close timewise. Can things ease up for you in that respect now?

grizzly4 - 2018-04-29 10:50:00
8443

Yes hopefully a break for a few weeks lol. I was looking at all the space Paku takes up with his blankets, towels and pet beds as well as his inside crate and cupboard for shampoos, flea killer, worm tablets' etc so I know what you mean. I'm concerned about his cataracts which are really bad now but at his age he might not survive surgery according to the vet and he seems happy enough. We had an early Birthday Party for k as he will be away on his actual Birthday. Had a lovely day.

makerealbany - 2018-04-29 23:01:00
8444

Back to shop this morning to work for the first time in 3 weeks. I had planned to do some sewing yesterday but went and bought a new lounge suite instead. LOL. Our old one has served us well for 17 years of cats and grandchildren and I. really wants a recliner. LOL. I might even go back to having nets at the windows now there's no cats to get tangled in them. I think we will be shifting by this time next year so I'll think about it then. Although keping the sun off this suite might be a good idea.

grizzly4 - 2018-04-30 06:23:00
8445

Haircut this morning at long last, so a later start for me. Very hard to get out of bed this morning for some reason but I'm up and at least I will get some of the matinee jacket done before my appointment. It's a new pattern I'm trying And I'm having to concentrate quite hard on the lacy pattern around the border. All in one as well so lots of stitches.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-01 06:19:00
8446

I really need a new Lazy boy. I've worn mine out ha ha. Seriously though all the grandchildren love that chair. The springs are worn and it cost so much to recover these days. I cannot do it myself. Its too awkward.
I am taking my car to the mechanic tomorrow. The odd noise is getting worse so surely they can find it this time.
I've knitted three more Beanies as per requests from grandchildren. I think they eat them ha ha. I have not started the Cardi for M and she has forgotten it so far ha ha. It has lace and I do not like lace lol.

makerealbany - 2018-05-02 00:02:00
8447

Lace is not relaxing. LOL. Do you have Big Save furniture shops up your way? Thats where we ended up getting our lounge suite. They had some recliners done as low as $399 over the weekend. The new 3 seater couch is a recliner as well so the kids (young ones and grown up ones) can stay off our chairs. I have finished the lacy skirt part of this matinee jacket thank goodness. The sleeves are lacy too but I at leat I have a bit of a break doing the plain top part first. LOL. Women's Group back on board this morning with a game of Bingo. They just love winning the prizes. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-02 06:20:00
8448

An oh my gosh, what a rowdy lot they were! LOL. So excited, it seems, to be back for another term. I was exhausted by the time they left at lunch time yesterday. Spent the afternoon on funding applications but I am so over the online ones. 2 afternoons in a row I have saved where I was up to so I could go back to it and both times only half of the work I had done was saved. Grrrr!
I've started the sleeves on the matinee jacket so back to lacy pattern again. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2018-05-03 06:29:00
8449

I must have a look in Big Save ha ha. I love the fact that they were rowdy. They obviously enjoyed themselves ha ha.
I had to quickly knit a Brown Beanie for K10 to take to Wanaka . They have gone for a weeks holiday. He told me last night and collected it at 7 this morning lol. I have nearly finished a Black and Brown one for J8 as per his request . I always end up undoing some part of a lace pattern grr. M10 has now gone off the pattern so we will look for another one on Ravelry. ,,,,!!!!. Glad I hadn't started it. Mechanic couldn't find a thing wrong with my car. My kids think I'm nuts lol. Didn't cost me anyway. Mike our Mechanic is a lovely guy and refuses to charge unless he fixes something. He really checked it out thoroughly.

makerealbany - 2018-05-03 13:42:00
8450

Odd you are still hearing the noise though. We have a new craft group using our hall now at work and they just bring their own craft from home. I have quite a few hours up at present so I'm taking my cross stitch (which I haven't touched in nearly 2 years again) and going to sit in on the group for a couple of hours this morning. Love the flexibility of my job! LOL.
