Morning everyone
A cool wind but looks like it might be a nice day

Totally agree with you re the boy.. I gather there is no father figure as the mothers boyfriend lives behind us. So there may not be a male figure up north.
Soo many kids but especially boys growing up without someone to look up to.

We both had very good and long sleeps last night. MrP is still washed out.
I said to him its not only the 3nights of bad sleeps but its all the stuff going on in our heads re the car.
MrP is staying home this morning. Ill duck up and get some groceries but not much else.

Lol at least we have plenty of petrol for the next 2-3 weeks. we usually only put $10 in a fortnight.

Love the colour of the milo Kuaka.

Fingers crossed we may be getting new carpet. When I called the landlord yesterday about the fence she asked if there was anything else we needed. I said carpet and she said yes both units need it.. So hopefully..!!!
I already know the colour I want, just have to find it if we get the go ahead lol cos I want loop pile not cut.

Have a fab day all.

Well we wont be getting new carpet after all.
If we do we would have to move out for a couple of weeks? couldn't do that, but First and formost we wouldn't be allowed our Missy cat any more.

So I guess if we move one day they will be replacing it, and they daren't think it will come out of our bond.

But they are going to see if someone can come and stretch the fold by the door to the hall.
Its so high now that MrP has tripped on it.

The fences will be painted on the weekend tho Yayay. Ours has needed it for about 9 years probably. it really lowers the tone of the area lol

Had another nana nap today and finally starting to feel a bit more alive.

morning ladies :) Two weeks away for laying carpet? That's rubbish popeye, our carpet was laid while we were home in one day. They moved all the furniture, pulled up the old carpet and underlay and relaid the new carpet/underlay. Took a full day of hard yakker but they did it.

Finished my blanket so will post pics later on. Now to do some baby things as a friend is pregnant :)

back outside for me, we had a power cut this morning so I have some spraying done. Need to plant the two roses before they give up on me lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, agree there's no reason to move out for two weeks to get carpet laid. They laid the carpet in our basement/billiard room in a few hours, and they had to glue it to the concrete, and carefully cut around the 8 legs of the billiard table because we weren't prepared to fork out $1000 to have it dismantled and reassembled (and because once they're assembled they're better left) and the carpet in the lounge/dining only took a couple of hours.

I have finally started the hem on this wretched Milo I've been knitting. I can't believe I cast on Sunday night and it's taken me all week to knit less than 2 x 50gm balls of wool. Will cast off tonight hopefully.

Lovely and sunny here but not very tropical.

Friday 13th so I don't plan on going anywhere - will do some housework, some sewing and maybe mow the little lawn which I see is peppered with daisies and dandelions! I don't mind the daisies but not the dandelions.

Bought myself another iron yesterday - just as well Briscoes had another sale on (they seem to have them most of the time) so this time I made sure I bought one with a longer power cord, the one I bought a few weeks back only has a 2m cord which is next to useless, by the time it's plugged in and reaches the ironing board unless you're standing right beside the wall the iron doesn't reach the end of the ironing board.

Right, time to do something useful.

Have a super day everyone.

Could you ask them if your could get some carpet from here and maybe pay for the installation?

8257

Afternoon everyone.
Yeah we thought it was wrong about the carpet.. But it can stay like it is. They will have to replace it if we move. We are very unsettled at the mo. But neither of us could cope with a move physically.

The sun is glowing today. was hot in the car this morning but Ive got slippers on again inside.

Had to do my blood which I had also forgotten yesterday. It was busy in the lab and the queue at post shop was to the door lol.

We both slept quite well last night.

Haven't done anything craft wise cos in my dozy state I might make mistakes.

Time for a wee play on here.

Have a fab day all

Afternoon
It's cold again but only for today so the met service says.
Brought some lovely charcoal grey alpaca wool with a slight silver highlight in it to make a scarf, it is so soft and light, but will have to be strong willed and not start for a couple of week. Will continue to use up my left over sock wool on baby beanies.

8259

morning ladies :) mmmmm jayemtoo, that alpaca wool sounds divine! I would weaken and knit it lol.

A bit more weed spraying this morning, couldn't finish yesterday as the wind came up so will have another go shortly. Then housework as it needs doing desperately. Might even have time to knit lol.

happy knitting :)

morning the man loved his extra large hat fitted him just right, now off to spotlight to buy some wool after I finish the chores

Morning ladies, it's a lovely sunny morning here but like winter. Crazy weather, yesterday morning it was so cold I had the heat pump on then in the afternoon I sat out on the deck and got sunburnt.

Yesterday I got everything done that I had planned to do except the vacuuming so I guess that's the priority today.

I finally finished that pesky Milo, just have two ends to darn in, and boy am I relieved. Can't remember when I had so much trouble with a project. I've started working on a crocheted rope basket, that is crocheting over rope to form a basket. I think it's going to be a long term project as it seems quite hard to do, as in hard on the hands, so I will carry on with my c2c blanket while I decide on my next project.

That's great about the big hat carolev - always good when people are happy with things you do.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.

A beautiful day out there. Have washing on, and will strip the beds too since its soo nice out there.

Well we have a wee market coming up next weekend so my friend and I are going to it. Its cheaper per sight, and Indoors. And they supply the table so that makes things heaps easier for both of us. And it works with my listings too I can still do FPO's and they will be expired before the market.

So last night I decided to change the two sewn cushions to pink and purple crochet ones. so my hook will be busy.

Finally feel back to normal energy-wise. MrP is down a little not knowing what's happening health wise. Its 28 months since this all started. And its been hard to keep him positive to say the least.

Right Ill have a looky here then get this washing out.

Have a fab day everyone

Good Morning. After a busy few days ,just had to catch up on some zzzzz.
Last night at our local Polytech for end of year exhibition for the Year 2 Bachelor of Visual Art & Design.Next Friday Year 3 exhibition.
Knit and natter yesterday morning. Hope to block some knitting this w/end.
Off now to our local Market to collect some garden plants and pop them into the garden later today.
Have washing on and do some housework. Busy! Busy!
Enjoy your day everyone!!!!

A busy day for you Sunflower.

I've stripped my bed, with the help of Missy.... Taken the electric blanket off, with the help of Missy, and turned the mattress with the help of Missy and will remake it later, now doubt with the help of Missy. lol

Even vaccd up the fur under the bed. Missy didn't help with that cos she doesn't like the vacuum lol.

But I actually feel like I achieved something this morning.. Other tidying up etc.

I guess I feel alive again lol.. A week of crappy sleep isn't much use to anyone.

Our landlords daughter and friend are here painting the fences. Its green now. But I kinda hope they will do another coat cos its very see through. but Ill not complain its better than it has been for years.

This afternoon is nursing the back and crochet

Afternoon
Looks like you are all keeping busy and hopefully out of mischief!

Had a special Mainly Music this am for parents, grandparents and friends who wonder what is all about and can't come during the week. Quite a good turnout and we did BBQ sausages as well as the usual morning tea which everyone seemed to enjoy.
Now having a bit of a breather then have to clean the car and get into the garden before going out for dinner so not much time to sit twiddling my thumbs today haha.

No I'm not going to be able to wait to use the new wool, went onto Ravelry and found a couple of patterns that I just really need to try and also I want a couple of Christmas presents so this is as good an excuse as any.

morning ladies :) lol jayemtoo, I would be doing the same!

Here's my C2C blanket I finished the other day, might still do a small edging around it to tidy it up. Fits snugly onto the single bed so am happy with that. My 10 stitch knitted blanket is still going, using the scrappy bits for that so it's taking a while.

Morning everyone.

Wow Kiwimade that is Awesome !!!! I think it would cool with an edging too.

Dull grey day here.. it looks like rain. Pity cos there is an outdoor market today and I don't think rain is far away.

We are both booked for the market next week now, which is indoors, so we are safe.

Have finished one cushion front, and about 6 rows onto the next one.

Ive checked the fence, just didn't want to get up and find graffiti on it after the girls hard work yesterday. It needs another coat but it looks heaps better already. wish id taken before photos tho.

I shall sit and crochet today, my back is niggly, I think I slept too well lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning (just!)
Love the blanket Kiwimade, great way to use up left overs.

Started a triangular shawl yesterday in the grey wool and knitting up nicely, it certainly goes a long way. Think I will have to go and get some more and make a couple of cowl scarves as presents.

morning finished the big hat last night took me 1 day to do so please with myself. rained all night

8272

morning ladies :) Good to see the rain at long last! Omg the garden was so dry and a friend was already talking about busting out the silage on the farm!

Have a few things to potter about with then I think I will teach myself some new stitches knitting or crochet wise. I love wet days for this sort of thing. Might even have another tutu with my waxeye cross stitch, haven't been too happy with it so put it down. Or I could plan a piece of embroidery for the living room wall, we 'need' another picture of sorts for a blank spot on a wall. So plenty to keep me busy :)

happy knitting :)

8273

Morning
Wet here too so think I will make another couple of Christmas cakes while its not too hot, then that will be them all done for now.

Finished the shawl and it is now sitting in the middle of the floor being blocked. Back to the beanies until I can get back to Skeinz for a bit more wool.

Have a good day all

Morning everyone

Rain Glorious rain. Id noticed the other day there was quite a gap between the edge of the ground and footpath. Ive never seen it like that here.
Warmish too, I had my fan on over night.

Ive finished crocheting the two cushion fronts. No pain in my wrist even, already planning another blanket after seeing one on facebook.

I have to sew these cushions today so Ive got them out of the way.

Now that we are back on for a market on Saturday I want to make some price signs etc I like things to be set up nicely.. Perhaps I was a window layout person in a previous life lol.

For many years I have carried around a heap of thin towelling type fabric, knowing I would have a use for it. The stretchy type fabric that was used for clothes not tea towels. MrP has grown out of his singlets and finds that they rub on his herniated belly button so Im going to make him some new ones, with plenty of room in them. I knew I was keeping it for a reason and I have heaps lol.

So that's about my week planned lol.

I have to go and post some sales this morning, but I love warm rain lol

Morning
Nice day again but still cool, think it will warm up tho.
Must get into garden later the weeds are growing so fast at the moment.

Made 3 Christmas cakes yesterday it was an ideal day for it and now have enough for this year.
Finished a beanie and onto the next one didn't realise I had so much sock wool needing to be used mind you some only have stripes of sock wool in them as also found several balls of white 4ply so am mixing and matching

Have a great day everyone.

morning ladies :) I'm starting to knit baby things too, a friend is pregnant so a good excuse to get the smaller needles out :)

I taught myself entrelac yesterday, it's not hard and I can see I'll be having some fun mixing and matching colours and designs with it.

happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2015-11-17 08:01:00

Morning ladies, sunny and windy here, a bit cool but hoping it will warm up later.

I've been busy trying to perfect the pouch for interchangeable needles, I made another yesterday which is a slightly different design to the first two, I prefer it except I don't like the fabric I've used!

I've been busy knitting also and couldn't believe I managed to go wrong on a pattern with 3 rows stocking stitch and one pattern row, I've done it heaps of times before and looked down and I'm busy on the fifth row of stocking stitch. It was soon sorted, but I sometimes think my brain just doesn't wake up in the morning when I do.

Was so tired on Sunday I have a nana nap and slept for over two hours, so course couldn't sleep that night. Took half a sleeping pill at 2am (supposed to give me five hours sleep) and didn't wake till 9.45. So the day was half over before I got up.

Feel as though I'm either getting a cold or maybe it's hayfever - hope it's the latter, eyes and nose are watering all the time, and eyes are sore.

Oh well, enough of my moans.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.

Overcast and windy. And I have to go out in it cos Ive run out of good girl bikkies for Missy, and shes sitting here patting my arm asking for them.

Got the cushions finished yesterday. They look nice, even if I say so myself lol.
Did four squares for a new blanket.. But found it was hard to crochet while watching the cat show on tv2 last night. lol So only crochet in the ads lol

Hoping to get some singlets cut out today but that depends on my head. Horrible headache at the mo. Could be the pollen from the lemon tree its covered in flowers.

Have a good day everyone

Morning everyone.

Have a good day at school Kiwimade. Judging by the cars and age of people getting out of them it must be grandparent day here at school today.

Its overcast and windy.

Im going to sew this morning and then back to my squares. on the 10th one so Im pleased. And they look pretty.

Hopefully Missy wont try helping me at the machine, she gets behind it and often puts her foot out to touch. Or she sits there looking through the gap lol.. soo cute.

morning ladies :) Had a fun day yesterday with the kids :) Woke this morning to find two rabbits running happily through the garden and another munching his way through the vegie plots. Told MrK it wasn't snails eating the vegies lol. The Furry One better get his game on, he has rabbits to catch!

Need to mow the lawn this morning, will be horrible to do after all the rain but it needs doing. Want to get it done before the day gets too hot so I'll finish my coffee and head outside.

Will knit this afternoon or evening :)

Happy knitting :)

Another beautiful day here.
Will get going soon with washing etc then go to Hastings, think I will bus as that gives me some exercise as bit of a walk to and from bus each end.

Will fit in some knitting this pm no doubt.
Have a good day

Morning ladies, shopping for me this morning, so better not sit too long on here, have to get myself organised and get on the road, I like to get to the supermarket by 11 at the latest, if I'm much later than that sometimes there's hardly any fish left - and that's my main reason for going to Kerikeri.

Today though I think I might go on to the warehouse and see if I can get myself some summer trousers. Then I suppose this afternoon I will have a tidy up and knit.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone
Overcast but I don't think it will rain just yet.

lol at the rabbits Kiwimade, my friends cats keep bringing her presents of rabbits minus the heads.

Shopping here too, I already miss Hoki being in the shop.

I have thought for a while that I was getting hives on my arms from the warfarin which is a rare side effect, But it is possibly fish. I have to wait till the next time I have some. Annoying since I love fish

Have done 13 squares but will down tools on them today and get that bunny sewn together, ill take them with me on Saturday to the market.

Have a fab day everyone

Ha kiwimade, you'd better get Bandit busy or there'll be a whole tribe of the little blighters before you know it!

kuaka - 2015-11-19 21:18:00
8295

morning ladies :) and yes kuaka, Bandit better get his game on! Mind you, he spent many happy hours yesterday chasing and sniffing, stalking and 'shaking' whenever he spotted them. He will catch them though, he always does.

I did a bit more knitting but it's hard to concentrate when sneezing and your eyes are watering. Hate hayfever and even the antihistamines don't seem to be working. There must be an alternative out there somewhere.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone
Hope you are ok again now Carole.

Kiwimade you have my sympathys re the hay fever. Mine was bad the other day not so much runny eyes but a massive headache. I was tempted to take another pill. But I used a vicks sniffer thing which helped a little.

Ill be going through my stall stuff today, making price lists and seeing if I can compact it a little.

Then Ill be back to my blanket squares.

Raining here at the mo, just gentle rain.

Have a good day everyone

Morning
Think I would prefer yo have Popeye's rabbits hanging around rather than yours Kiwimade.
Good your daughter is ok Carole - what a worry.

Got going earlyish today so housework more or less finished including washing out on line.
Off to Skeinz for more of the alpaca wool, it is so light and goes such a long way, going to knit a couple of cowls for nieces Christmas presents as they only take 2 balls, no thinking and could be done on a plane (I hope).
Then supermarket shopping before garden and finally get onto the needles - well that's the plan but anything could happen hehe

Morning everyone

And what a wild and wooly wet day.

Ive loaded the car already, and managed not to get wet. Only took a few minutes even if it is raining at the other end. Hope it doesn't keep the people at home.

Deciding if I should take my crochet. Id like to be so busy that I wont need it lol.

Have done 19 squares for the new blanket now, so its a nice wee stack.
