S does up old knitting machines. She really is a whizz. Yes it was a brilliant day here today. I have J14 for the weekend, He wants to buy some Ice skates this weekend as he plays ice hockey so we have to go to the other side of the city, Not looking forward to driving in the traffic but I will lol.

Wonder Nana goes the extra mile again. LOL. Overcast and cool this morning but determined to get some jobs done inside and out. I finished knitting the jersey and just need to sew it up this afternoon.

J and I went and got his Skates. Actually we went the back way and it wasn't too bad at all. I love my GPS except when it doesn't know the new roads ha ha. After that we went up to T's and helped her clean up her yard. Went to the dump for her and then had lunch. Sil brought J6 up and took all the boys to the park with their scooters. We all got home and A had organised Tea.
J14 and I watched a movie and I worked on my shrug to match the Beanie I knitted for myself, All in all it was a very good day and I'm feeling fine Ha ha.

8104

That's great. Well done. We worked in the garden, went to afternoon tea at daughter S's (tiny miracle there LOL). Then had burgers for tea down at the river which was flooding real well. Won't be taking the bikes there for a while. Then we watched 2 DVDs during the evening. A good day too.

Today After Jye left at 11 I went back to bed. Woke up with shingles drat, Finished my shrub so tomorrow I really will get my charity knitting started ha ha. Yes its raining here again.

makerealbany - 2017-09-17 23:43:00
8106

Of all the luck getting shingles on top of everything else! Baked a large chocolate cake yesterday as a treat, planted the tomatoes and lettuce in the glasshouse and sewed up the jersey. All up, pretty pleased with the weekend for a change.NOw I have to see if I can put in some decent hours at work this week as well.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-18 07:14:00
8107

I have been doing inside things lol. I baked a potato pie. made some spaghetti sauce to freeze. started a ginger beer bug, baked a sultana loaf and started a new kefir grains container. My sisters have been ringing to see how I am bless them. So lots of lengthy phone calls. I took the dogs to get groomed yesterday as Tess the Mini Schnauzer is due with her 5 puppies on Friday so she needed her nails cut as well.
I'm off for a haircut at 9 so running ha ha

makerealbany - 2017-09-19 07:21:00
8108

Puppies due? That will be fun and more work. LOL. Staff and volunteers are going out to dinner tonight and I was looking forward to it but DIL is on the committee and hasn't replied to the invitation or the reminder. That young woman is the bane of my life at present.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-19 08:06:00
8109

Dinner out was good but I've slept in this morning! Grrr! Luckily no prep for group this morning as we are going to a pottery class. Let's see iof my second time on the whell is any better than the first. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-20 08:15:00
8110

Everything ok, makerealbany? Thinking of you.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-21 08:12:00
8111

OMG my phone line is out again. They fixed the internet today but they are having difficulty fixing the phone wiring. They have been digging up the whole road it seems grrrr. I have had it with this nonsense.
Had my scans all ok., had my bloodwork done and got called back for a second lot. Swabs done and surgery put off until I'm clear of the shingles virus grrrr.
Apart from that my ex DIL is getting piffy and I'm over that as well. Ill have to see a lawyer again.

makerealbany - 2017-09-21 21:22:00
8112

Oh my gosh how serious is the surgery?!I think my DIL has stopped S from racing with I. this weekend for whatever reason that might affect her. Grrrr!

grizzly4 - 2017-09-22 08:28:00
8113

Surgery isn't major just a couple of lumps to cut out ugh ha ha. I have just had the biopsies done and they are ok. Phone still not working, Technician is coming again tomorrow. Did I tell you I broke my reading glasses and had to order new ones. I'm using my old ones.
Dil sounds like my ex Dil. Honestly they need to grow up and think of someone else besides themselves.
Just saw the time. I don't know why they put The Voice on so late ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-09-23 00:25:00
8114

My gosh I would never make it through to midnight! Errands to run today and I'd like to have a look at B9's school fair, too. I. has to help set up the race track for tomorrow so depends how long it takes for the tyres to be rotated on my car whether I have a vehicle.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-23 08:19:00
8115

Wrong day for fair! LOL! I. didn't go out to the track so we went out to lunch instead. I. is racing today and I have groceries to do plus more weeds to deal to in the garden. Can only do a bucket at a time so taking a while.
How are you feeling?

grizzly4 - 2017-09-24 10:36:00
8116

Hips have been bad all weekend but managed to get 3 buckets of weeds done. Have late nights at work today and tomorrow and as you can see I managed to get up earlier this morning. I have to get this morning stuff sorted as the school holidays start next week and I will be on early starts for 2 weeks.
I guess the technician didn't manage to fix your phone or internet.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-25 06:12:00
8117

Got it fixed finally today grrr. Tess had 6 puppies last night so we have had a stressful weekend. She had 4 adults and three children catering to her every whim. Gosh she was brilliant and is a fantastic Mum. First and only litter for her, We could not go through this again.
SIL left for Wellington in the car tonight. He was only waiting for Tess to have her puppies. He stayed up all night watching her and the puppies lol. A and the kids are flying down tomorrow. A has to work and SIL is helping clear his Mum's home as she is selling and moving into a Retirement Home. Having a big house and a section to look after gets in the way of travelling overseas ha ha. She' s just home from Peru. Full of energy for her age.
I started a pink shawl and have done two hats for the cause. Swabs came back and no one I was knocked around by the meds. Different form so different weaker meds ahhhhh. Anyway I'm feeling better. I am supposed to be in Rotorua for my great nieces Wedding this Saturday but unsure if Ill make it. T said she and K will come and babysit the new family but Ill see if I'm up to the long drive.
Had to rush out tonight as I forgot it was K8's Solo performance at his Recital. He played the Clarinet. I was amazed at how confident he was playing up there all by himself. T and I were so proud.
I'm so glad I got there in time. His face lit up when I arrived. Unfortunately his other grandparents could not attend. His grandfather is in hospital and has been very unwell. His grandmother was so disappointed but she had to look after his cousin who was very ill while her mother was at work. Considering R is not at all well herself I felt very sorry for her.
Anyway I had no sleep last night, just could not settle so its bed now for me.

makerealbany - 2017-09-25 23:55:00
8118

Wow it's been pretty full on at your place! You will have to send me a photo of the puppies and their Mum. It will be chaos in a few weeks when their eyes open LOL. Been there done that. Another long day ahead for me today. First meeting is at 8.30 and the youth volunteer training tonight will finish after 7pm.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-26 06:36:00
8119

Last night's training was cancelled so was home for tea thank goodness. I 'm working on a vintage matinee jacket pattern which is taking a bit longer than I thought. The skirt part of it is longer as they were back in the day and now that I'm up to the yoke it's in cables. And that's just the back. LOL. Should be effective once it's done though.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-27 06:25:00
8120

I hope you are not still having internet problems!

grizzly4 - 2017-09-28 08:10:00
8121

God I'm losing days lol. Getting just 3 hours sleep a night is not good ha ha. I'm taking Tess and her puppies to the vet today. I'm a bit worried about her. That awful panting and she might have an ear infection. Keeps scratching it.
She is looking after the puppies well and they are getting fat. Yes I will send a photo. I cant access this site on my phone duh. So I have dashed back to the cottage to post whilst they are all asleep ha ha, I love Vintage patterns.

makerealbany - 2017-09-28 09:08:00
8122

Why are youi not sleeping, still? Is it the dogs keeping you awake?

grizzly4 - 2017-09-29 06:59:00
8123

Off to do a BBQ fundraiser for work this morning.

grizzly4 - 2017-09-30 07:04:00
8124

I hope you are ok, makerealbany? Or is it your darn internet again? Did the BBQ yesterday then went to lunch with daughter S and B9. Came to garden for rest of afternoon. I'm working on a vintage matinee set as I mentioned beforte. It has taken a week to do back and one front! Really slow going.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-01 10:13:00
8125

Well I'm back home. Looked after the dogs at As and Ss for the week. Had K two days he was sick with a stomach bug so the usual vomiting, changing beds in the middle of the night. etc. T had to take him to the Drs . I had to take T and the pups to the vet, Pups were excellent but poor T had an ear infection. It was go, go, go for me. T took K home at 4 on Friday . I fed T and as soon as she and the pups were asleep I raced to the shops In 1 and a half hours I had a pedicure , manicure and got my nails done. tore into KKs and bought a lovely dress plus a pair of evening shoes with a low heel from Hannahs. Raced home again to find T and pups still asleep. Fed the cats and Paku and packed my bag. Rang my eldest grandson to come and babysit the dogs early on Saturday morning. Rang A to tell her as they were driving back from Wellington on Saturday. Got up at 6 and changed the pups bedding. I love those disposable puppy trainers that fit over the heating pads. Fed all the animals. Took Tess out for a walk. Jumped in the shower. Got dressed for my great niece's Wedding and left for Rotorua at 8.30. Arrived 30 minutes before the Wedding. They got to the Church 30 minutes late so I had time to unwind ha ha. It was a big Wedding and we had a lovely time. I spent the night and today at my sister's home. Drove back this afternoon in pouring rain and dashed in to say hi and check on the puppies lol. Tonight I am going to get a good nights sleep ha ha. I have a free day tomorrow. On Tuesday E comes for the week. School holidays are here again as you know. My friend has knitted me more sox. I have quite a stash of them now ha ha. I did not take any knitting with me. I forgot ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-10-01 23:29:00
8126

Wow! What a week you have had. I hope you enjoy your day off today. I had the most normal weekend in nearly a year. Lots of gardening and didn't have to keep taking a break this time. I finally managed to get the dahlia bulbs and bedding plants in, too.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-02 06:12:00
8127

I have more Tulips and Irises flowering . The Tulips were 99 cents a packet at the end of the season.. Its weird . I just plonked them in pots when I got them and I'm very surprized. I went shopping for food supplies for the hungry grandchildren over the holidays. I also managed to knit 6 inches on my pink shawl. I also brought home my Mum's walking stick. My sister had it but she has others so I'm very pleased to get it. I also have another Korowai Mum started so that's a major job. My sister also gave me Mum's Korowai stand to hang it on while I work. She says I will use it ha ha. She's having a sort out. I'm delighted.

makerealbany - 2017-10-02 23:36:00
8128

Sounds like you've got yet more projects planned. LOL. I have finally got the back and fronts done on that matinee jacket and part way up first sleeve. Finishing at 3.30 over the holidays because of such early starts but fell asleep yesterday so that wasn't very productive. Was planning a swim but that didn't happen either. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-03 06:19:00
8129

M10 and E5 are in bed . Hopefully they will drift off soon ha ha. Picking up E took 3 hours today because of all the traffic. It was ridiculous plus there had been an accident on the motorway, I'm going to sit and knit while relaxing. You obviously needed that nap. I have done something to this laptop when I tried to connect using my mobile phone data and under instructions from Vodafone. Its all in its original settings so now I have to wait until my son comes to fix it, So frustrating ha ha

makerealbany - 2017-10-03 19:50:00
8130

I fel like I'm just marking time going to work and sleeping. Such a waste now that daylight saving is here. Forced myself to go out and water the garden and put snail pellets down around the new dahlias last night. Actually finished a sleeve as well.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-04 06:32:00
8131

I hope you are feeling ok. You would be so tired having to do the work you do. I don't know how you do it. Busy with the children today and the daily chores sigh. I did 30 mins weeding and that was enough ha ha. I knitted 2 inches lol. Have to cook J6 nearly 7 Birthday Cake tomorrow. That will be fun with 4 children trying to claim the bowl.

makerealbany - 2017-10-04 23:57:00
8132

I used to enjoy doing the baking with the kids. Haven't done it for ages. At least I'm back in the routine of getting up early again. For a few weeks I really struggled with getting up at all. It's absolute chaos at work but at least the days go quick. 2nd sleeve finished so just the collar to do now. Nearly 2 weeks to do a matinee jacket is a bit ridiculous.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-05 06:28:00
8133

Ha ha its the same here. Still going on that shawl. Just no time or I'm too tired after the kids are in bed. I got J6.s cake done but the day was hectic. We went up to T's at the beach for tea which was a lovely break. My cottage seems a shambles but the kids are happy ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-10-05 23:13:00
8134

A letter arrived while we were having tea last night saying I needed to have blood tests done. It's been exactly a month since the last ones. I am so stressed that it's because something showed up in the last ones but maybe this is normal follow up. Trouble is I just don't know because no-one has told me what the follow uip routine is going to be. Hardly slept all night. To add to it a friend is going through the colonoscopy stuff today and supporting her has dredged up everything from the end of last year. Sigh. I feel a bit fragile this morning which makes me mad as well because I have felt on top of my game this week, getting up early again, getting stuff done before early starts at work and putting out a good amount of work at work as well.Somehow I have to get the information from someone today about the follow up routine or I'm going to go mad.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-06 06:15:00
8135

Didn't get more info despite trying - it seems a lot of people take FRidays off! I did find out that the letter that I received by courier on Thursday night was sent 2 weeks ago! Oh well, blood tests done again now and I have to wait for GP to see the results. Apparently platelets are down so we'll see what happens now.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-07 11:34:00
8136

Aw big hugs girl. It is a concern when no one tells you anything about follow ups. grrrrrr
We all had a very busy day yesterday for J's 7th Birthday. Lunch at the mall, movies and the dinner out last night. Such fun to see all the little boys and girls sitting in rows at the movies.
The restaurant was great and everyone in there sang Happy Birthday when he got his cake lol.
W is coming over today to sort out my laptop and to see the pups. I need to get good photos to send. Their eyes are starting to open.
Got fruit trees to plant so on a mission today ha ha. Hope you are resting and don't worry. I'm sending you positive vibes .

makerealbany - 2017-10-07 12:15:00
8137

So disappointed with the weekend 'cos the rain has just not let up at all. The plants that started off as seeds in my conservatory are huge now especially the runner beans. LOL. Hopefully there will be a fine spell this afternoon to get them in the garden. I'm working on a wee stripey jacket using up leftover 8ply wool. Back and fronts done in 2 days LOL. Your vibes must be working. How is your own health?

grizzly4 - 2017-10-08 10:56:00
8138

I'm ok . Took E5 home today , then visited my invalid son and took him groceries, etc. Came home and decided to clean my pantries. What a mess after having the grandchildren in and out ha ha. Tomorrow I am having a good clean up. Its amazing how 4 children can demolish a place lol. It poured down here this afternoon. Great knitting mojo girl.

makerealbany - 2017-10-09 00:00:00
8139

And back to work we go...... to change trip plans for today and Wednesday because of the weather. Sigh. The rain never gave me a chance yesterday to get those beans in the garden. They are nearly 2 foot tall in my conservatory now. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-09 06:20:00
8140

Wow those beans might be magic beans. If only ha ha. I cleaned like an ace today. M10 cleaned out my jewellery drawers and chests. She polished my bedroom furniture as well. Worked like a little star for 3 hours. Mum and Dad were out and she said 'I'd rather stay at home and help Nana'. She was a great help. Polishing the Silver she asked me who was I going to give the Silver to. I told her no one wanted it as they cant be bothered cleaning it. She grinned at me as she polished a Silver Teapot. ' Don't worry Nana I love it' So we wrote her name in the Book. She is very like me in her taste of furniture, Love anything Vintage. She really is the only one of my grandchildren who does.
I managed to get my SIL to plant all the fruit trees and grasses that needed to go into the ground today. We spent 1 hour and it was done. Things in pots start getting root bound.
I knitted tonight after a long soak in the bath. One good thing about all this rain. Plenty of water in the tanks ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-10-10 00:11:00
8141

All this rain is making the garden look good, too. I just want to get out and put more in it. LOL. Too tired last night to knit. Most of tthe jacket is done, working on the hood now.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-10 06:28:00
8142

I took M10 with me to do my shopping tasks today. Library, Post Office and to spend my last 150 of vouchers on a new dress, I ended up with two ha ha. Needed summer slippers so we got those as well then spent 30 minutes in Typo. I needed more books with envelopes in them and so did M. Met her Mum for lunch.
First thing this morning was taking Paku for his annual checkup and vaccinations, He's nearly 15 and now has cataracts, I got some drops for his eyes as he's too old to have surgery on his eyes. Bought him a new jacket and he loves it ha ha, When we got home he dashed off to show everyone his coat and to get pats, The puppies are all getting fat at 2 weeks old. I had to weigh them in my kitchen scales so we could give them their first worm tablets.
Sil leaves in the morning so its back to normal but A has the rest of the week off thank goodness.

makerealbany - 2017-10-10 23:14:00
8143

Sounds like you are having a lovely holiday break with the kids. Good for you.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-11 06:18:00
8144

Cleaned my car for its service and WOF tomorrow. I knitted for the rest of the day. Had to finish that shawl and I have started another one lol. This is for my Aunty. She likes pink lol. I just finished mine in pink so I'm using the pink that is left from that one. Not sure if Ill have enough though. Might have to blend in another pink.

makerealbany - 2017-10-12 00:02:00
8145

You are a production line of shawls! LOL. I'm watching my beans get ever taller in the conservatory. Looks like the weather is clearing for the weekend, though. Didn't knit again last night. NOt very motivated about this stripey jacket. Doesn't happen often.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-12 06:21:00
8146

No it doesn't happen often. I get like that at times though. Got my car serviced and the WOF done as well as my daughter's car serviced and my grandson's so we kept Mike and his boy busy this morning lol.
I got some more flowering plants to fill gaps in the garden. Put them in tonight. Yes I do production lines of things ha ha. Price I pay for coming from a big family and having a big family ha ha.
I meant to get some beans today and forgot. I have to go and get more compost so Ill get them then.
Paku lost his brand new jacket in the paddock somewhere. I'm annoyed with him but he has another to wear. Hes feeling his age. Poor old dog. I'm not searching for it until Saturday as its gumboot alley down there. I had to get worm tablets from the vet for the puppies. We thought they started at 4 weeks. The vet nurse told me it was two weeks. They had to order them in so I picked them up today. What does it say on the packet ? yup 4 weeks. I told a different vet nurse that I had been told two and was made to look like an idiot in front of others that were waiting. She apologises and said No you were right and she was wrong gahhh. I made a special trip up there as we were worried because they are 3 weeks on Sunday. Some people ought to get their facts right and their act together. grrr.
Well I'm off to knit now.

makerealbany - 2017-10-12 20:26:00
8147

Worming a litter of puppiers years ago was one of the worst expereiences I ever had. (Without going into details) Shudder.
I finished the hood and did the border round the front of it last night. Now I just have to sew up the rest of it which involves lots of ends because of the stripes, and do the front borders. My beans are so tall they have flopped over now. First job on the list tomorrow.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-13 06:28:00
8148

OMG the alarm keeps going off at work. It did it once last weekend but happened again last night and again this morning. There are 3 of us taking turns to go and check the building and reset the damn thing. Grrrr!

grizzly4 - 2017-10-14 09:23:00
8149

Jacket finished, beans and other vege plants are in! Yahoo. It was a good day yesterday. Even though it's a bit late I've even put new gladioli bulbs in - might flower by New Year LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-10-15 09:30:00
8150

Hope you got that alarm sorted. I have been weeding not as much fun as planting ha ha. Visitors coming and going. Thank heavens its back to normal tomorrow. I'm on a lot of babysitting duties this month but at lest they will be at school during the day. I have lots of AGMS as well but have to just send my vote for some of them. All in Rotorua. I have my weekend in Taupo for my Knitting Group early November so I need to get organized for that because A will be working away the week prior and arrives home as I leave. Its all on here lol.
Those late Tulips I put in are all flowering so I'm sure your Gladiola will too.
I'm off to get more Compost after I bath the dogs.
