| I finished the cardy and a pair of bootees as hoped. I'm fine aghaion today so looks like it's just part of the recovery process. Sigh. No-one visiting today so no large amounts of cooking to be done Hooray. And it's fine so I might get a bit done in the garden. Hope you are ok? grizzly4 - 2017-08-19 10:00:00 |
| Heavens the phone lines are playing up. I could not access TM at my daughters. Thank goodness she is home. She flew to Wellington, couldn't land ,flew back to Auckland and then had to wait to fly back to Wellington. makerealbany - 2017-08-19 23:56:00 |
| I got myself an absolute Bargain today for $10 A Fox Craft Bag on wheels. Its huge in great condition. I can fir all my needles including circulars in the compartments. Needle to sew up and stitchmarkers. wool for current projects, Patterns, etc. Its so great. I thought of buying one but at over 100 I couldn't justify it ha ha. I couldn't believe how big it is when I picked it up. I could even put my clothes in there ha ha. Cut up the pumpkin and oranges for relish. I have the oranges and carrots all mushed up for Marmalade so tomorrow I have Relish and Marmalade to make as well as Beetroot relish so will be busy . I planted out some more Oriental Lillies I bought out of my Birthday Loot and I also got lots of Tulip bulbs for 49c a packet, I have them in pots until the summer, My Tulips are just starting to flower but the snails have been feeding so I have to get slug and snail bait. makerealbany - 2017-08-20 22:43:00 |
| It seems the message I posted yesterday didn't go through properly! Oh well. It was a good weekend, very peaceful with no-one else here. Too wet for gardening yesterday so did some window shopping and spent the afternoon knitting. Finished a dolls dress and kniteed back and half a front for a crossover cardy.Doing it in a variegated sock wool called Gallipoli, It's earthy tones of cream and different shades of brown. Quite effective. grizzly4 - 2017-08-21 06:20:00 |
| Finished all the preserves. I spent most of the day on them. Realised at 3 that I had not eaten a bite all day or sat down. Sometimes you get carried away doing things. makerealbany - 2017-08-21 23:34:00 |
| Mum and Dad have a green decanter set like you described! Funny that. grizzly4 - 2017-08-22 07:18:00 |
| Wow that's bad luck with the cars grrrr Hope it is covered. Yes I have my car back all dried out. There is a 5 week wait for panel beaters in Auckland. I was lucky getting it done in three weeks. makerealbany - 2017-08-22 23:24:00 |
| All the extra driving took it's toll yesterday, I think. Had McDonald's on the way home for tea so didn't have to cook but fell asleep for an hour and a half as soon as I got home. LOL. I am on the last sleeve of the crossover cardy, it's knitted up so fast. Great pattern. And I think I will get it out of the 1 x 100g ball. Yahoo. Off to the Museum today with the Women's Group so should be very plerasant morning. (If they behave). LOL. grizzly4 - 2017-08-23 07:39:00 |
| Did they behave lol. I took the kids to school then had to go post mail and parcels. I wandered around the shops for awhile and then had Mc Donalds ha ha, I came home and slept all afternoon. Knitted some of my shawl tonight but not really into it so I tidied my bead stash instead. makerealbany - 2017-08-23 22:16:00 |
| Yes they were very relaxed. LOL. THen I came home early for a nap, LOL. Someone else was using my computer at work and I couldn't do anything I needed to so didn't bother staying. I'm feeling really tired but sleeping well. Makes me a bit grouchy. grizzly4 - 2017-08-24 07:38:00 |
| You should have priority on your computer. No one was allowed access to mine at work. I had it password locked. I guess because I did all the Financials and really Sensitive stuff like PGCs . Didn't really want just anyone looking at it lol. It must be really frustrating to have to share a computer at work. makerealbany - 2017-08-24 23:32:00 |
| THis worker has her computer in her own office but won't download a programme on to it so she can update the spreadsheets she does for me. Sigh. I wish they would all listen to my suggestions rather than me having to put my Manager's foot down and be directive. I'm always up for discussion about my suggestions but when they ignore the whole subject, that's when I get brassed off. grizzly4 - 2017-08-25 07:00:00 |
| Make it a directive that she downloads the programme. Honestly talk about hopeless. She is just being obstructive. makerealbany - 2017-08-26 00:50:00 |
| Hopefully aquiet wekend ahead. S and his family will be here for tea though so going to think of something easy. Supposed to be 19 degrees here today so probably a salad. LOL. I'm using up bits of wool for baby socks at present.I will only have half a morning at shop on Monday as I am speaking to a class of 2nd year Bachelor of Social Work students at the local polytech. My favourite subject: the difference between social work and copmmunity work. LOL. No guarantees they're going to like everything I say.... grizzly4 - 2017-08-26 10:29:00 |
| The reality of the actual workload and the theory will most likely astound them or stun them ha ha. makerealbany - 2017-08-26 23:23:00 |
| Oh no! what a dreadful thing to happen to your shawl! Naughty Teddy is right! Mac is also not being very good lately, I am putting it down to spring fever. LOL. I have the day to myself as I. is off racing and I didn't want to get out of bed that early. LOL. Groceries to do and some baking after that. Not sure about gardening as I spent a short time out there yesterday and I'm sore all over today. New dahlias aren't in yet either. Edited by grizzly4 at 9:32 am, Sun 27 Aug grizzly4 - 2017-08-27 09:31:00 |
| Finally finished that shawl. Teddy was awfully quiet today and didn't eat much sigh, Hope he's ok. Dunhill seems his old self . Fingers crossed. Had a lazy day all to myself. I made some more Relish and watched movies. Raining here and I did work for a bit in the garden yesterday and like you I was a bit sore all over. makerealbany - 2017-08-27 23:21:00 |
| I slept in between chores yesterday. Just couldn't stop it from happening. Slept all night without waking once which is unusual too. Still have a sore back but life goes on today and I think I have a busy week ahead, starting with trying to be in 2 places at once this morning. I have started a another fairisle cardy for this weeks project. grizzly4 - 2017-08-28 06:41:00 |
| Well you most likely need to sleep and rest more. I went out all day after dropping kids at school . C and I went shopping. Browsing around, had lunch. shopped some more and then picked our grandchildren up from school. We had a lovely day. She is off to Peru tomorrow for a month. She's going with a group and she has travelled with some of them before so she will be ok. makerealbany - 2017-08-28 23:57:00 |
| What a great day you had. I hope your friend enjoys her trip. I couldn't find the free park I had been assigned at the polytech so ended up paying $5. LOL. Finally found the classroom with 10 minutes to spare, got completely carried away with the topic, came out the wrong entrance of the building and had to walk round the campus to find my car. I was knackered. I;'m just a silly old woman these days. I have to get my head together tonight as I have a Management meeting at work followed by our AGM. Rather be home knitting. LOL. I've done the back and first front of the cardy. grizzly4 - 2017-08-29 08:21:00 |
| Ha ha Been there and done that. No knitting for me today. Had a lot to catch up with. Off up North tomorrow 4 hours to get there and then Ill b e home again tomorrow night late as I have to be here for Friday Morning drop off. Bed early for me. makerealbany - 2017-08-29 22:28:00 |
| You've got a busy day ahead today. All that driving! Women's Group going out for lunch today then I'm back for a load of bark to be delivered in our playground. The programme staff and children will have fun moving it all in to place....NOT. LOL. Then daughter S and B9 are coming for tea. She has invited herself under the guise of Father's Day and not wanting to run into DIL on Saturday (if they are even here). grizzly4 - 2017-08-30 08:42:00 |
| No work as our organisation is closed today to the local school being closed. Yippee! I slept all the way through to 10am! Gave myself suich a fright when I checked the clock. I'm really not sure what's going on healrth wise at present. Sigh and no future appointments to check in with anyone either. I know my arthritiis and asthma always kick in this time of the year but this overwhelming tiredness is a worry.(and a nuisance). grizzly4 - 2017-08-31 11:34:00 |
| I woke up yesterday with a sore throat that felt as if I had been swallowing razor blades ugh. Got back late last night and crawled into bed which is where I have been all day. My head feels like it is going to blow apart. I have had a shower and a hot drink and am going back to bed sigh. makerealbany - 2017-08-31 23:21:00 |
| THat's not good at all! I hope you are feeling better today! I had a very quiet day yesterday, managed a bit of housework and some cross stitch before falling asleep in my chair for another hour and a half in the afternoon. It's just rediculous! I asked to make sure I got out of bed this morning as I have an early meeting. grizzly4 - 2017-09-01 06:49:00 |
| I ended up with a morning of meetings then able to come home early. EXCEPT that I had to go all the way back to work to pick up my phone which I left behind. Grrr. Did some more cross stitch and all the bands for the cardy. So it was worthwhile in the end. NOt sure what's happening today, I guess I will be the last to know. I hope you rested well yesterday and are feeling a bit better. Thinking of you. grizzly4 - 2017-09-02 09:50:00 |
| Well I have been resting but feeling no better. The nights are awful. I cannot stop coughing. My daughter has still got this virus and my sister who came to my birthday is still sick a month later. Its nasty. I tried to start my charity knitting so began a NB cardi but could not even finish a front and I had to leave it. Ah tomorrow will be better I hope ha ha. makerealbany - 2017-09-03 00:34:00 |
| You poor thing, that's awful.I'm thinking of you and wishing you well. grizzly4 - 2017-09-03 10:14:00 |
| Going to bed late didn't get me to sleep. I coughed until 5 this morning. Got up and slept in my lazy boy until 10. If I cant stop coughing tonight I'm just going to sit in my chair again. I sleep propped up as I cannot lay down sigh. Off to GP again in the morning. They booked me in when I went on Friday, I'm really exhausted and fed up ha ha. makerealbany - 2017-09-04 01:13:00 |
| I'll bet! Good luck at the Doctor's and then once you are home again stay warm and cuddled up in your chair. I hope you get some sleep. grizzly4 - 2017-09-04 06:43:00 |
| I got my steroids and antibiotic, probiotics, etc. Went to pay at the Chemist and had worked out that with my inhalers. et, etc I would be paying $45 but I'm on the free list now until Jan so that was a bonus ha ha. Starting to feel better, fingers crossed. makerealbany - 2017-09-04 23:51:00 |
| THank goodness! We went on the free list early this year because of the extra stuff I was on. LOL Ours is till January as well. Definitely a bonus! I am working on a matinee jacket that is knitted all in one to the yoke. 195 stitches on at present. Doesn't seem to be growing very fast. Had to do sleeves first so at least they are done. grizzly4 - 2017-09-05 06:47:00 |
| I hope you continued to feel better yesterday and managed to get some sleep despite the coughing. The guest speaker at the Women's Group this morning is from Unichem Pharmacies telling us all the other services available through them. I have to make a doctor's appouintment today, I think I have a blood clot in my leg. Grrr. grizzly4 - 2017-09-06 07:38:00 |
| OMG you had better get that seen to . I hope you have been to the doctor. I have to go for more stupid tests as my blood pressures keeps rising even when I'm resting so its a scan for me. makerealbany - 2017-09-06 19:01:00 |
| I'm glad you have been able to take it easy and that was nice of A taking Teddy for a respite break. LOL. The first available doctor's appointment is this morning but it's with a locum unfortunately. The rest of the day is with Ministry of Social Development in my office doing their 2 yearly review of our childcare services. FIngers crossed that goes well. grizzly4 - 2017-09-07 08:17:00 |
| I'm sure it did go well. Today I had to drop off the children and pick them up. Race home and give them tea then we had to take M9 back for her last show. J and I came home and I got him showered and ready for bed, A shot in at 7 after she finished work which was a 5 wake up call for us both. Then A had to go and pick M up at 9. Long hard day for us all. I'm glad to crawl into my bed as soon as the blankets heat up ha ha. makerealbany - 2017-09-07 22:29:00 |
| So much for resting! Locum was amazing at the doctor's yesterday, there was a request from the surgeon for blood tests when I went to GP next so they did all those plus one regarding the blood clot. By the time I got to work for an all day meeting with MSD I had an appointment for 5pm for and ultrasound. I had to go to the 24 hour surgery and wait an hour for the results. My back was killing me sitting on their chairs for that time Good news is that it's a superficial clot not deep vein so no treatment. But everytime this happens I will have to go through the same process. Sigh. Still I am very happy that we changed GP. grizzly4 - 2017-09-08 08:16:00 |
| I'm glad that you changed your GP as well That's good news momentarily but Its best that you check this stuff all the time. I do hate sitting on those darn chairs. I seem to be improving. No headaches although still coughing. Took it easy today as A worked from home. I slept all afternoon laying on my bed with the sun streaming in the windows. makerealbany - 2017-09-09 01:10:00 |
| I'm glad to hear you are still improving. I and S are racing all weekend and I had plans for gardening, baking and craft but have woken up with sore back and hips again. Honestly this health stuff is never ending!!!! I am so over it. grizzly4 - 2017-09-09 09:43:00 |
| L10 with me today, no idea what DIL plans are and S and I are racing again. He's stuck with me doing the groceries this morning and the end of month bookwork for the shop. Sigh, poor boy. Although he loves having access to the games on my computer once his phone goes flat. LOL. grizzly4 - 2017-09-10 08:01:00 |
| Just got my internet fixed again. Storms up here are playing havoc with the lines. I finished my hat and am going to wear it to the Supermarket as it is so cold. Hail storms, lightening brrrr. Kids couldn't amuse themselves with anything related to the internet this weekend but managed to amuse themselves collecting hailstones ha ha. makerealbany - 2017-09-10 14:28:00 |
| Was ok till lunchtime Sunday when the hail hit! LOL. Everything they brought home, bikes and race gear, was coivered in thick mud. The afternoon was spent waterblasting it all clean. Men!!! NOw I. is home today with a sore shoulder after coming off his bike. Grrrr!!!!! grizzly4 - 2017-09-11 07:38:00 |
| That's the thing I don't miss about motorbike racing. Cleaning the bikes and gear. Yep and the injuries. makerealbany - 2017-09-11 22:34:00 |
| Winding hanks are my worst nightmare!!! LOL. I've eneded up doing a repeat order for a child's jersey I've already done twice before for this family. Started it yesterday as shop was so quiet, it's knittted in one piece starting at front edge so I've got to the split in the neck. All the stitches for sleeves are on needle as weel now. Not a bad pattern but just a bit boring all in stocking stitch. I came home after the shop because I. was home. My Supervisor thinks I might be a bit depressed which made me angry at the time but who knows. I am just over having to go into work dealing with the same problems and tired off my family not getting on. It's never been like this before. grizzly4 - 2017-09-12 08:15:00 |
| Hugs my friend. Sometimes life sucks. Its feels like you are a mouse on a wheel at times. Round and round sigh. makerealbany - 2017-09-12 23:40:00 |
| Sounds like you had a nice day. Good for you. Feeling a bit fragile but had my hair done then got through the rest of the day at work. The wee jersey is half done, too, thank goodness. Have someone coming in to do floral arranging with women's group today - haven't done that for ages. The swimsuit I bought on TM after being so frustrated with what's in the shops turned out out real well. Brand new, complete with tags. Original price $149 and I got them for $25!!!! Amazing, eh? I am rapt and they fit! Even better! LOL. I haven't been swimming for years so this is my new project. grizzly4 - 2017-09-13 07:31:00 |
| Wow that was a bargain and a real bonus that it fits, I know mine wont unless I lose a few pounds ha ha, Steroids ,etc are awful. I feel so darn bloated half the time but finished the second lot thank heavens. Now maybe my stomach will settle down. Feeling yukky all day is horrible as you know. Another easy day for me I even managed to weed a garden and hose down my paths. makerealbany - 2017-09-13 23:01:00 |
| How can weeding a garden and hosing the drive mean it was an easy day?! LOL. I have 2 lovely floral arrangements at home after yesterdays class. It was good fun. grizzly4 - 2017-09-14 07:48:00 |
| Sounds nice. My bulbs are still flowering but that's about it at the moment. Spring is on its way. lillies are growing. knitted a bit tonight and sorted sock wool out. A Friend is knitting more socks for me so I can send them to J in Queenstown. S has a sock machine and I adore her socks. makerealbany - 2017-09-14 22:30:00 |
| Sock machine sounds interesting. Never heard of that before. Lovely warm temeratures here at present, hopefully it lasts to do some gardening tomorrow. I hope you are continuing to feel better. grizzly4 - 2017-09-15 08:01:00 |
