THe suggestion you made, makeralbany, to use the cracked heel cream has had amazing results. I used it 4 times on Saturday and all 3 splits have healed! Thank you so much!!!! Haven't felt well much of the weekend so not much knitting done yesterday. MY head has all these things i want to do but the body is just saying "tough" and wants to sleep. One week to go...

I'm so glad they have healed. Its really painful and you keep catching the splits on things like knitting ugh. Listen to your body and sleep.
I was ambitious today as I only had E5 so I thought I would put together one of my Industrial shelves, Yeah right I only got to the second shelf and my back was killing me so I left that job ha ha. I'm listening.
Hope you start feeling better soon.

Me, too. I'm glad you are listening. LOL Add it to the list for SIL. LOL. Had to finish work yesterday early, felt so yuck. Slept till 5pm then again after tea till going to bed. Again not much knitting being done. Trying to work on a dolls coat again as the other one sold.

Finished work early again yesterday but was feeling ok till after tea this time. No pattern to it all really but I did get the 2nd front of the wee coat done. I need to get it finished because I would like to do a pair of cable bootees for the young Chinese woman next door who has just had her first baby. I haven't seen her since baby arrived while we were away and I. only found out last when he went to check on a car accident at the nearby intersection. The baby's father was out there as well but doesn't speak great english so couldn't find out if it was a boy or girl. LOL.

Still working on 2 little sleeves for coat. Knitting just not a happening thing. The mind is willing the body not so much. LOL.
I hope you are ok, makerealbany?

Well I tore the muscle. ligaments and tendon in my right shoulder. How I don't know but I have been doing some heavy lifting when no one else has been around. I couldn't even put my pyjamas on without screaming sigh. A was in Wellington when it happened and the kids wanted to ring 111 lol I managed to talk them out of that by explaining we would have to go to the hospital and wait for hours. Told M she wasn't to ring Mum and worry her. Anyway we survived. A had the day off today so was at home. I rested all day and it is starting to feel better. Not much they can do really. I don't do slings ha ha. So anti flams and deep heat. I can get dressed without screaming out loud now. Its more of a whimper ha ha.

That sounds dreadful! One of the Women's Groupdid the same thing a few months back and she suffered for ages without knowing how she did it. I hope you notice a difference quickly. Last day of holiday programme today plus we are involved in a community expo at the local mall so busy day ahead. Pouring with rain and, of course, if you are going to be at the Mall for a long period of time you have to use the car parking miles away. Everything will get drenched. Sigh.

Oh my gosh so much water around. I's 2 days of racing has been cancelled 'cos they can't reach the paddock on the farm. WE stayed in bed this morning. Yay!

grizzly4 - 2017-07-22 10:58:00
8009

Yes it was a great morning for staying in bed. So did I ha ha. I am going to relax all day and knit. There is a lot of water here as well. Dryer going lol
Everyone is getting wet and bad tempered so I am hibernating.

We are on the right side of town from flooding, thank goodness but the creek beside work was pretty high when I left on Friday. Still not feeling great this weekend, spent yesterday feeding family and today I need to hem work jeans for I. and make some lemon honey with lemons I brought home from Blenheim.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-23 10:36:00
8011

Thought it was Monday this morning duh. Another day of relaxing. I made lemon cordial with lemons I was given. Love lemons lol. I'm halfway through my sisters black shawl. I finished M9's Pink and Purple Gradient one. She wants a hat to match. She has so many hats sigh. I bought the Hitch Hat by the Hitch Hiker Shawl Designer so I might try that after this black. I really do not enjoy knitting black. I'm feeling better and I hope you improve soon. Hugs

I am so pleased you are feeling better. Me, too at present. I took the last of the pills this morning. A total of 896 large pills! THey better have worked is all I can say! But no-one can tell me that, just waiting and seeing for years to come. BUt at least from tonight I do not have to remind myself to take meds before eating and tomorrow night we can go to dinner for our 37th anniversary without my meds bag with me. Hoorah! Daughter S. had surgery again on FRiday to untwist her bowel (again). Not that she told me till she text me she was home. Now she's complaining because I haven't contacted her. Honestly! I have not heard from her since she moved out of here and into her flat except to hear her complain about the new place and that she was staying most nights back with the problem man in her life. She wouldn't like my views on that so it's best to nothing. I am so tired of all her drama, she says she is going to bail on family because of our lack of support, maybe that's the best for awhile. Sigh. Not much more I can do. I feel like her son and I are the ones caught in the middle.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-24 06:55:00
8013

All I can say girl is that is a hell of a lot of tablets. Hope they are working
really well and I'm sure they are'.
As for your daughter and her drama, I'd give myself a break from it all as well. After all you have been going through which she is well aware of she needs to grow up. You have always supported her and if she wants to play stupid childish games, let her play by herself. I feel for you knowing you are concerned about your grandson and will miss him. Sometimes our idiotic kids are so stupid.
37 years is a long time. Congrats to you two. Tell I I said well done and hi.
I went up to T's today. She was due back from Figi this evening and I wanted to make sure my grandson S had the house clean. It wasn't too bad at all. I turned on the dishwasher and folded and put away all the washing he had done. Cleaned the bathrooms and moped the floors and came back home again .He had hovered and polished the furniture I gave him a call and he was pleased as he was working late tonight. The dogs were so excited to see me I had to play with them for 15 mins ha ha.
A and I watched the Game of Thrones on Soho tonight so we have had our dose of violence and mayhem ha ha. Quite a few different twists from the books.
Its pouring again sigh.

makerealbany - 2017-07-24 23:35:00
8014

Words from the wise, definitely. You were so good catching up on housework for S before T gets home. LOL Saved his bacon.I started a new pattern for a wee cardy on Sunday but got to shop yesterday and found an order sitting there for me. Sigh. Now I have 2 lots of knitting on the go. The order is in Natural wool which is rough on my hands and all in stocking stitch so boring as well. Thank goodness is on ly for a 12 month old size. Mind you beats knitting black any time!

Had a wonderful dinner out last night for our anniversary. We tried a restaurant we hadn't been to before and it was amazing. Then came home and watched the programme on Princess Diana. So sad, it brought all those memories back. I. has spoken to both Diana and Charles on a couple of occasions when he was in the airforce and they were here when William was 6 months old.
This jersey pattern is a different as knitted all in one from hem of front up to hem of back. I am at the part where all the sleeve stitches have been added. Takes ages to do a row now.
Went to wool sale at Knitworld yesterday after getting an email from them. Not as much in the shop as there was advertised which was disappointing but I still bought 3 more lots for cardies. LOL.(at full price)!
Finally received another txt from daughter S last night which has eased the tension. Apparently she moved back to her blokes house 2 weeks ago and now they and the kids are moving into a bigger house just outside of Christchurchin another couple of weeks. Oh well, her life, nothing I can do to protect her.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-26 07:13:00
8016

Oh no. Well you are right you cannot protect her. She might learn the hard way though. Silly girl.
I had a hell of a night last night. Teddy the little Moodle was in a terrible way. He couldn't bark and his breath smelt really bad. I was told a month ago he needs his teeth cleaned. I had to sit in the lazy boy all night with him. He was in so much pain. I would have taken him to the 24 hour vet but I have little K with me as his baby sitter is still in Figi. This morning I took K up to Orewa to school and dashed to the vet. They put T out and removed 4 infected teeth, Poor little dog. I picked K up this afternoon, picked T up from the vet and went back to T' s to wait for S29 who had his Birthday today. Gave him his presents and they all patted T . We came home and he is very quite. I have antibiotics and painkillers for him. He's asleep now so I'm going to crawl into bed as my eyes are dry and sore. Old age and no sleep ha ha. As well as all that Dunhill wouldn't eat his food so I had to pick up Special Diet food for him today. I have spent a fortune on that cat sigh. Roll on the weekend methinks ha ha.

Poor T and poor you. Sounds like an awful night and a stressful day after. I quite enjoyed my days training yesterday on Sustainable funding. It's not going fix all the financial stuff at work but it's given me some new ideas to try. Todays training is on marketing so I hope it's as good.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-27 06:47:00
8018

Yep the Marketing day was just as good. Pretty tired by last night though. It was raining again by the time I was on my way home. Funny story happened at work on the Tuesday. A work mate dropped me at the training and then was to return to work to take the Women's GHroup out for the morning. Unfortunately she was caught up in a random breathaliser testing by the Police and was later back than expected to find the women had called the Police because my car was in the carpark but they could not get access to the hall. They were explaining my health stuff to the Police so they woul come and break in because I must have collapsed! Luckily G. was in time to put them right. Lovely that they care that much but oh my gosh!!!!

grizzly4 - 2017-07-28 06:51:00
8019

Oh My Gosh is right he he. At lest you know they all care and are watching out for you.
Teddy is a lot better thank heavens. Dunhill has settled with his new diet. SIL arrived home last night and T's Babysitter is home on Sunday and I have a free weekend . So looking for ward to it. After my 5 am start this morning feeling shattered.
Its great when Training days are motivational. T told me she had to sit and listen to one of the other tutors with her students and she nearly fell asleep ha ha. Then her students told her how bored they were and could they please just have her as a tutor.
She said OMG my poor students. She's a very popular tutor and all her classes are full and she gets great feedback from the other staff so she is very happy .
I am still knitting that darn shawl. I haven't had much time for knitting and I have to concentrate ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-07-28 23:42:00
8020

I'm glad you get a free weekend! It's just I. and me this weekend, too. We all need to plan relaxing days! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-29 10:01:00
8021

I finished my sister's shawl . No more black for awhile ha ha. I used my new swift and got the first hank wound around my legs, my arms, etc ha ha, Then I got in the groove and did another hank. I made some Lemon Curd and baked myself a loaf of bread. I always give A half of it and J could smell it baking when he was playing outside so as soon as it was baked I took their half in. J said afternoon teatime. The kids love hot bread. I watched a movie tonight and sorted projects, It was a great drying day today. Hope you and I enjoyed the day as much as I did .

Quite a productive day with down time as well. Very pleased with the day especially as I have only a couple of rows to finish this jersey order. Gosh, it was boring! Today I have groceries to do, I.'s jeans to hem, and muffins to bake. I made pumpkin soup yesterday so easy tea tonight.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-30 10:08:00
8023

Groceries for fortnight done but nothing else. LOL. Went for a drive instead. It was a lovely day. Finished jersey when I got home and did 2 wee jerseys for teddys. I hope you continued to rest on Sunday, maskerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2017-07-31 06:40:00
8024

Couldn't switch the brain offt last night in order to sleep! Must have been the knitting pattern I'm working on causing too much concentration before going to bed. Haven't had a problem sleeping while I was on the pills so must be leaving my system. I've started a baby's cardy but the pattern is hard on the fronts working in shaping and shawl collar as well.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-01 06:31:00
8025

My darn Laptop needed file clearing. I forget to do that. I cant access TM on my phone. Well I can but cant get to the messageboard. I have to work out how to do that.
No knitting for me I'm busy cleaning cupboards etc for my visitors lol. Shed still not waterproofed and I am having the Birthday Party my family organised on the 11th. Grrrrr. I just dropped my car in to work out the leak I have. They gave me a Nissan to drive home. What an experience ha ha. Its not too bad duh.
Teddy is healing well . I took the kids to the park on Sunday it was such a lovely day. We all enjoyed our two hours in the sun.
I'm cleaning again today. Enjoy your day.

makerealbany - 2017-08-01 11:10:00
8026

You are working flat out! Again! I managed to get the second front of the cardy done without pulling back at any stage. Phew. The sleeves are plain knitting, thank goodness. Once the Women's Group leave a lunch time today wll be able to start clearing the build up of paperwork on my desk. So many other things have been happening the last couple of days I just keep adding to the pile. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-02 06:50:00
8027

I'm knitting an Alpaca Shawl which is beautifully soft but alas my hands are covered in grey dye. I hope it washes out of the shawl when I have finished it sigh. I'm so disappointed but I did get the wool cheap in a destash and now I know why ha ha.
Went to watch M running her cross country today. She finished 10th in a field of 36 but was very tearful at the end of the race. Poor little girl hates running. She will practice dance, music and gymnastics for hours and loves it but running is out lol. She has such long legs they expect her to stride it out. I think she's more of a long distance runner than a sprinter. I know I was.
Car not fixed yet. I'm pile gathering as well ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-08-03 00:39:00
8028

How long will car be? It seems ages since you took it in. I hated running at school as well so I'm feeling lots of sympathy for M. I finished the first sleeve last night for the wee cardy. Such a relief that it was plain knitting. PLayed Bingo with the Women's Group yesterday and ended up Googling the little phrases to match the numbers that the real callers use. We were in fits of laughter throughout the morning once no 53 was related to Herbie the car and the players should respond with Beep, beep. After that they were coming up with other responses. Such a great group to work with (mostly).

grizzly4 - 2017-08-03 06:35:00

Cardy finished, Yahoo! Started baby sox last night as my supply in the shop is running low. I have another sheepskin lamb to do a jersey for as well. Today is our last day at work for a week. I. and I are taking next week off for a break. Another Yahoo! I'm looking forward to pottering around the house and garden, knitting, reading and going out for coffee. LOL.

Everything ok, makerealbany?

Yes so so tired though, Just got home from my granddaughter's 21st. I have been frantic the last few days moving stuff into the shed. Cleaning and packing and unpacking trying to fit it all in. I have crawled into bed at night and just realised I have not posted. Had to tear off early this morning to get two presents before the Birthday.
Now tomorrow I might be able to water blast my deck and clean that. Still got a bit to do in my cottage but that's a days work.
Have to get my haircut sometime during the week. Gardens need weeding and gutters need cleaning. Having a party puts you under pressure ha ha.
Good on you for having a week off. Enjoy it,

makerealbany - 2017-08-05 22:25:00
8032

Sounds like you need a week off, too! Has having the shed for storage now, made a difference to your cottage? I. is racing today so as it's going to be 17 degrees, thought I might go too. Get more knitting done while I'm watching. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-06 07:53:00
8033

Had a lovely day today. So many messages and phone calls than my grandchildren started arriving with heaps of pressies. I don't feel 70 but I am now ha ha. Spent a very relaxing day and the kids cooked me a scrumptious dinner. My grandson bought me a beautiful pair of designer silver earrings. They are called balls of wool.

makerealbany - 2017-08-06 22:21:00
8034

Here's me thinking you were planning the 21st not your own birthday! Many happy returns!!!! I'm glad you had a great day and the earrings sound lovely. YOu don't behave like a 70 year old either! LOL.

Cl;eaned out the roses yesterday that have not been very successful in the front garden. Now I can go shopping for some hebe, I think.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-08 10:16:00
8036

Had my daughters Birthday Dinner tonight. Eating all that cake is no good for my hips ha ha.
Yes two of my sisters are coming on Saturday so it will be a full on weekend.
Hebes are so easy to grow aren't they? I love hebes. Had lots here once before the landslide.
I'm off to bed as its already the 9th ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-08-09 00:34:00
8037

Hebes are in so that was a bonus job done for the week. Not too many of the other jobs on my list have been ticked off, I have to say! LOL. I spent a couple of hours on my cross stitch yesterday afternoon, I haven't touched it in nearly 2 years! I bit hard with my fingers the way they are at present but so pleased I did it. We are out to lunch with friends today so we'll see what other jobs get done. Haha.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-09 09:37:00
8038

Shopping today for the party and more major clean-ups tomorrow. No rest for the wicked ha ha. Got my hair cut today, still no car back yet.
I bought myself a new Dinner set today. Haven't needed to buy one for 30 years so thought it was about time lol. Took me an hour to unwrap it and wash it all. I got a 12 of everything set. Big family fed up with mismatched things. Wish Id kept my Noritake set now instead of giving it to my daughter ha ha.
Cross stitch hey. Yes it has been awhile. Those fingers of your still playing up. That's been awhile hasn't it?

makerealbany - 2017-08-10 00:45:00
8039

My fingers and toes have had the nerve endings damaged by the chemo drugs. The skin and nails have thickened which hampers doing fine things including picking up little things. My fingers aren't splitting as badly now, though thank goodness. I did more cross stitch yesterday and I"m working on a matinee jacket in the evenings. Up to the yoke now so nearly done and I'll do a beanie and bootees to match before Monday. We were supposed to meet daughter S for lunch today but she has to work now so just dropping in a gift to her office. Might go and check out the Lincraft sale.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-10 10:41:00

OMG side effects from life saving drugs. You poor thing. You are doing so well considering all you have been through.
I cleaned all day so ready for my first visitor I am picking up at the Airport at 10.30. Feeling exhausted but on top of everything ha ha. I'm off for a shower and a good nights sleep.

makerealbany - 2017-08-10 22:37:00
8041

I hope all goes well for you after all your hard work. Have a great weekend!
We are having a catch up day on chores today then date night tonight. LOL. I. and son S are helping set up the track tomorrow for Sundays racing so I will have a weekend to myself pretty much. Daughter S and DIL disagreement is getting worse so now DIL has decided they won't be here for tea on SAturday night. No worries won't have to spend the day cooking. She better not try and keep me from the boys in the future though. Grrrr!

Did 2 short spells in the garden yesterday, so pleased witrh myself. I hope your family celebrations are gouing well. Maybe you are in recovery mode now. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-13 10:29:00

I had a cooking day yesterday after doing the groceries. Made a curry for tonight as we are back at work this week, plus a bacon and egg pie for I's lunches, cinnamon pinwheels and a coffee and walnut cake. Very productive weekend.

Hello Omg I had such a fantastic Birthday Party. My two sisters as well as my niece and her hubby stayed up until 4 in the morning laughing and celebrating and they all slept in my cottage. It was so much fun. A and S had a houseful as well.
We all had breakfast together the next morning. 3 trays of eggs 6 packets of hash browns, 20 kgs of Bacon etc. etc ha ha,
I still have my friend from Christchurch here as she flies home tomorrow . We spent the day op shopping as she is into making jewellery.
I have been so busy I just fall into bed ha ha. Forgot to post. Havent checked my messages. etc but you only have people around for a short while and then they are off again. Will tell you more tomorrow.

makerealbany - 2017-08-14 21:20:00
8045

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Good for you! For the first time ever I am not enjoying being back to work after a holiday. It's not that anything needs fixing after a week of not being there this time, it's just not doing anything for me. The more I think of retiring the more it appeals but I have 6 years yet. Sigh. Hopefully today is better once I get there.

grizzly4 - 2017-08-15 06:25:00
8046

Wow will its back to Normal. I saw my friend off today and came home and slept lol.
I did indeed have a fabulous time. I received so many pressies, money and vouchers I'm set for ages. I also got some great new Gardening tools from J13 and his Mum which was lovely, She came with him and it was very nice to have her with us. I got a lovely Wool Cape to wear and I have been ha ha, Soaps and perfumes, chockies and the best thing of all was my cake. T got it made. I'm waiting on the pics and then Ill post a copy.
Sil is off overseas tomorrow and A is down to Wellington for work so its all on ha ha.
I hope you had a nice day today and I can relate to your feelings.

makerealbany - 2017-08-15 23:15:00
8047

Still feeling very flat about work. Playing indoor bowls with the Women's Group this morning so hopefully that will help. I'm so pleased you had such a great time and were so spoilt. You so deserve it!

grizzly4 - 2017-08-16 06:43:00
8048

No rest for the wicked. S has left for overseas and A is away early tomorrow morning until Friday night so it will just be the children, cats and dogs and Moi lol.
I'm still washing linen from the party. I've done A's and tomorrow I will do mine. I only have three pars of Queen sheets 3 duvets and about two dozen towels.
They found the leak ok but are still drying my car out sigh.
Hope the Indoor bowls was fun. Tonight I will actually knit ha ha.

makerealbany - 2017-08-16 18:14:00
8049

Bowls were fun. Lots of laughs and then I buried my head in some book- keeping for the rest of the day. LOL. I just have the bands to do on another fairisle cardy for the shop. This one has a red background which is a colour I don't use much, funnily enough. I can't wait till the weekend to get morte gardening done but it doesn't look hopeful weatherwise. (AGAIN!)

grizzly4 - 2017-08-17 07:05:00
8050

Worked hard yesterday, had a late meeting at the shop and this morning I feel like I've hit a brick wall. LOL. Staying at home, didn't get up till 9am. Unlike last week when the same thing happened after days of feeling great, I'm not feeling sick - just knackered. Oh well, I can finish the neckband on the cardy I'm working on and maybe do some bootees.
