I reckon you can never have too much wool either

thanks for the updates on the rugdoctor :) Think I will wait for the warmer days so I can have windows and doors open. My challenge will be to keep the Furry One off it while it dries.

Lol popeye, you'll find loads of new favourites as you search the internet for the old favourites!

Ive just upgraded to windows 10... Now if I could figure out how to open a second page Id be happy lol.

I still have my Office works thingee to do tomorrow.

But for now Im going to search on here to see what pics I can find of my girl and save those.

morning ladies :) I uninstalled Windows 10 popeye as I couldn't get the digital software to work so I could upload e books to my Kobo. I'll wait for other software to catch up with Windows I think. A good lesson too, to back up your photos and documents.

I've got lots to do today, another agapanthus plant needs digging out, oven needs cleaning and housework done. I want to watch the rugby this afternoon (poor mans TV) so should be done in time to collapse in a screaming heap by then.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Woke to sound of rain but stopped at moment so hope it is finished for now.

Good you are back on- line Popeye. Good reminder for me too to do a backup again, tend to not get around to it for a bit too long.

Have a good day

Morning ladies, I have to agree, I'm very slack and hardly ever do a back up, which was why I was so grateful to carolev's other half for salvaging all my photos off my old pc.

Last night I bit the bullet and unravelled a shawl I had started, I was up to row 57 and was supposed to have 183 stitches but somehow I only had 153. No idea where I went wrong but I had lost interest 'cos I didn't like how it was knitting up in that particular pattern, so I have started again using a different pattern and I'm really much prefer the one I'm doing now, so all good so far.

Put our spare fridge on the local noticeboard on fb last night and think I've sold it, so that will be good, as it stands at the moment in front of the cupboard under the stairs, which means all that cupboard space is just sitting there and I can't access it, and once the fridge is gone I'll be able to store a lot of the stuff we brought home from the boat in the cupboard and out of the way. Then I might be able to get the billiard room tidy again.

Sunny and cool here, rain forecast, but we'll see. Tide is right out so not planning on going to the boat today - well not yet anyway. Might nip to Countdown (locally) and get a few bits, but not going to do my normal shopping trip to Kerikeri as there's not much that I need, so will wait till next week.

Now going to do a few rows on my shawl. Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon everyone. Tis a lovely day here

Ive weeded, packed up meat , been up the road, folded washing. Tidied the bombsite of the craft room and things looks heaps better now.

Yes I should have done a back up ages ago. I have a lot of the family photos on storage sticks tho.

The only thing I cant get used to so far is not seeing IE for the web pages. But otherwise not too bad.
I'm going to install my office thingee this afternoon. I have missed having publisher, excel and powerpoint etc.

Ill see what I can do on facebook today too. Need some pictures on there for a start lol.

Got the most beautiful smelling cabbage while out this morning so I'm going to OD on my iron and have coleslaw tonight with pork. Cant wait.

Having my first NInja drink for lunch.. Sooo thick lol.

Have a fab day everyone

morning ladies :) I missed the IE too popeye when we had Explorer 10. Was different to what we were used too but must admit, if it hadn't been for my Kobo software, we would still have it.

Ended up with a wicked headache yesterday and had to sleep it off along with some meds. So no knitting for me. It's still there, not as bad though, so will take some more meds and see how I go.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
No thanks for the offer Carole!!
Do hope the headache disappears quickly Kiwimade.

Still raining at times - well over it now. Washing has been done but will need to go in the garage again.
Started rainbow top yesterday, it will be quite bright but good for daycare.

Happy day

Morning ladies, me neither carolev - mine's not perfect but it'll do for now thanks.

Hope you're soon feeling better kiwimade.

I think it might be a tad warmer today than the last few days.

The fridge went yesterday so my mission for today is to tidy up whatever is in the cupboard under the stairs (so long since I've been able to get into it I can't remember what is in there) and then start stowing stuff we want to keep from the boat, and put aside the stuff we need to get rid of.

Might have been a good day to go out to the boat, but the tide is wrong now, so it will have to wait till another day. No panic, nobody else is going out there to finish the repairs and painting - it will wait for me.

Making good progress on my new shawl, and so far I'm liking how it's turning out. Fingers crossed.

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon everyone.

Its a lovely day here but a chilly wind.
This keyboard is driving me potty. You either have to bash it or be sensitive.

Been out to garage sales this morning. Got a couple of sets of mini plastic drawers for beads ribbons etc. And some more baby clothes hangers wc will be handy for the stall.

I have a chill in my lung. So will try and keep warm.

Carole get some Metamucil fro supermarket or Konsyl-D from drs. Its helps if you have the runs and also helps if your bunged up.

HAve an awesome day evryone

I would offer libz but I've got enough on the go at the moment. Suggest you ask on fb on the "for the love of all things woolly" group or the "NZ knitters and crocheters" group. Someone is bound to be able to help you. Good luck.

Morning
Still drizzly outside, remembered to change my bedside clock but mentally sticking to an hour earlier so not rushing out of bed. Will need to go round all the other time devices later.

The rainbow top is growing somehow doing stripes makes it seem to grow quicker. Am using the milo pattern but had fun working out how to do colour changes over the straps when not wanting the same colour all the way around, looks ok even if my method was a bit unorthodox lol.

Have a happy relaxing day all

morning ladies :) Still headachy so will bring out the heavy duty meds I think, it comes and goes and I'm over it.

Windows need cleaning and so does the leather lounge suite so will get that done today. Won't take long to do.

I found a ball of 4 ply so started knitting a baby's beanie just for something on the needles. Might tuck it away, you never know lol.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, well not only did I forget to put the clock forward before I went to bed, I slept in till 9am, and then discovered that it was actually 10am, can't say I feel any better for it, but I must have needed a few extra zzzs.

Today I will carry on sorting through the stuff we brought home from the boat and trying to stash a lot of it away in the cupboard under the stairs, and maybe wash some of the blankets we brought home. I found a crocheted one in the cupboard under the stairs that my gran crocheted when I was about 5 or 6, so that's well over 60 years old. I think if I wash it then it will probably disintegrate. I'll have a good look at it first.

Want to repot two house plants, and other than that, today I'm going to just potter about tidying up and relaxing with the needles. Shawl is coming along nicely, not sure it will be big enough, may have to do an extra repeat of the pattern, there's 540 stitches on the last 12 rows!

Have a super day everyone.

Afternoon everyone
A beautiful day out there.

Ive been up the road, and made 4 fruit loaves. As well as loading the printer onto the computer.
Now if I could just get into my email Id be happy.. This has to be the most finicky computer Ive had.
HAve knitted a white set of jacket and hat.. Will sew them up later and ass the buttons.

Ill take a photo of them al too.

I am loving my Ninja blender. A drink takes me an hour to get through lol. And the fruit hasn't upset my sugars.

Right a quick play on here then I going to type up the jacket and hat pattern in a decent size of font lol

HAve a fab day all

Morning
Nice weather has returned just as I am to leave again. Off to look after BiL in Hamilton while Sister is away for a week. Have packed the important things ie wool, needles and books now to sort out the rest - clothes etc.

Finished the rainbow top last night might use some of the left overs and make a bright striped top for his little sister.

Have a lovely day everyone

Morning everyone.
We have had heaps of rain through the night.

Up early since the lawn boys might be here

Finished the white premmie set last night. And started a green set. Then Ill do a mauve and lemon set and That should be enough.

My friend went to the Pokeno Markets yesterday and found our wool man there. So she brought home 6 balls of the wool I ordered, and ll get the other 2 when he comes here at the end of the month.

Have an awesome day everyone

morning ladies :) We had lots of rain and lightening last night, no thunder though. Yesterday was a gorgeous day, perfect for the first day of daylight saving so MrK cranked up the BBQ for dinner. We bought a new one last summer but with all the work going on around the house had it in it's box until recently.

I ran out of wool knitting a baby's beanie with THREE cast off rows to go lol. Couldn't believe it lol. Oh well, will unpick it and knit with white to make stripes. Funny how I knit faster as I begin to run out of wool lol.

Have an oven to clean and a wall to wipe down and my spring clean is done. Headache seems to still come and go but is manageable and I can work through it.

Happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, we have fog here this morning so I suppose there's no wind, and when the fog lifts it should be a nice day.

I thought I would have finished my summer shawl yesterday but when I got to the increasing on row 19 of the fifth repeat of the 20 row pattern, I discovered it didn't work out right as I'd missed doing the increases on row 9, so I tinked 3 rows (225 stitches a row) and then decided to put a lifeline in and frogged it, so I've still got a way to go today. Grrrr!

I'm making progress on sorting the boat stuff but it's slow going. When I get to the actual "boat" stuff, rather than all the household-type stuff that we had on board, I'll have to get Mr K to sort through it.

I'm about to start some spring cleaning round the house and have started sorting through my wardrobe and putting stuff aside to take to the op shop. Make room for some new stuff now that I've dropped a size - I'm not going to be in too much hurry to buy heaps in case I manage to drop another size.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning
Looks like Waikato is turning on a nice day for me. Sister leaves later today so I will have to get organised as will be chief cook and bottle washer for next week. She has left a list of things that will be happening but there is a few days with nothing 'booked' in as yet but think they will fill up fast enough.

Started another stripy vest to use up some of the left over wool. This will be for the sister of the other one so am using red as the base colour and not definite a rainbow this time.

We'll hear the coffee boiling so better be sociable.

jayemtoo - 2015-09-29 07:49:00
7978

morning ladies, what a gorgeous day it is here. You're right jayemtoo, the Waikato has certainly turned it on today.

Finished my spring clean, will vacuum and clean the car today and attempt to dig out another clump of agapanthus. I also need to go into town to pick up some duvet covers I ordered so a mixed bag of things for me today.

Should have some time this afternoon to knit. I've been picking away at my 10 stitch blanket, boring as heck but if I keep changing colours it's not too bad. The extra blanket could be useful to have.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.. Another beautiful day here. Had condensation on the windows, the temp dropped a fair bit last night. The washing is on

My premmie knitting came to a shuddering halt last night.. The lemon I have is too thick and the mauve too thin.

So Ive gone back to the stockings.. I only have four so a few more wont hurt.

These are the best days to be living in I reckon. Lovely and sunny but not hot.

Have an awesome day everyone

morning started another jacket for baby last night in the new Christmas yarn from spotlight , don't like it . had my group yesterday 5 people came was busy with sewing machine and knitting needles we had great fun

7981

morning ladies :) That's a buggar about the shawl kuaka, hopefully you have it sorted out easily. I like the idea of lifelines, they save a lot of hassle.

That's a shame about the Christmas wool carole, good to hear your group is having fun.

Did a bit more to my 10 stitch blanket and have had an idea how to make it rectangular. Once it is the width I want I'll have a tutu and see how my idea pans out.

I'm off outside while it is cool to dig a bit more agapanthus out. At least they are reasonably shallow rooted, it's just they grow on top of each other so need the spade to split the plants. I bent the spade handle the other day... oopps lol.

Will finish my coffee then outside for me.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
What a lovely calm morning, pulled back the curtains to see a large hot air balloon cruising past, just beautiful. We had a really lovely walk around the lake in Cambridge yesterday pm. Will go to the base this am to get a few things and check it out, I really don't know my way around Hamilton as usually I am just the passenger when i come up here and so just look at the scenery.

Be interested to see how you manage to make the 10stitch rectangle Kiwimade. Finished the knitting part of the next stripy vest but have a lot of ends to darn in when I get around to it. Now will make some other tops to continue to use up the pile of wool I seem to have accumulated in the past month, brought 2 shopping bags full with me so should keep me going.

Have a nice day what ever you are doing

jayemtoo - 2015-09-30 09:06:00
7983

Morning ladies, I've got a 10 stitch blanket I started a while back (it's in the very early stages - I haven't done much) I just imagined that to make it rectangular rather than square you would need to work more rows between the first two corners and the second two.

Knit and natter this morning. Might take my c2c blanket (something I don't have to think too much about) I only have one row now to do on my shawl and then cast off - it's 540 stitches now! If I like it I might do a second one in a different colour - I'll decide once it's cast off.

Beautiful morning here, should be going out to the boat but the tide is high so that's no good, need it high when I come back. Just as well I'm patient.

Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon everyone
Lovely day here too.

Went up to do my INR and got back to the car and blood was running down my arm.. Ooops. So went back in and washed up and redressed again. So I'm not expecting the test results to be very good. First time tht has happened.

Am knitting sparkly stockings again. And I think it may be the wool that is giving me hive like rashes on my arms Not my hands tho, which is odd.
Cos I don't think I had it when I as working with the acrylic.

I still cant believe that with all the wool I have I don't have a nice lemon or thick enough Mauve.
I might have to go to spotlight next week. Just to get those. We will be going to a Davids Emporium shop which I didnt know was there. Just down from Spotlight too. Used to love the one in Hamilton.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) Phlebotomists are special people aye popeye.

Still picking away at my 10 stitch blanket, will get there eventually. But first I have to mow the lawn, needs mowing once a week now. And the edges need doing too...sigh... can't use the weedwacker as I have plants growing over the garden edges so it gets done by hand.

Will finish this coffee then get outside before the day gets too hot (still can't believe I'm typing that lol).

happy knitting :)

Afternoon

At last able to sit down and relax for a bit. Nephew's 2 (7 & 8yrs old) arrived 8.30am and it seems to be full on since including a walk to a near-by play ground so they could wear off a bit of energy. Now have fed them and their mother has picked them up, so fed the BiL and now he will have a rest. We have to go to bowls this evening, not that i am keen on bowls but they need to keep their numbers up and it won't hurt me to go.

Started another top yesterday but must finish darning in the ends on the stripy one as well.

Afternoon everyone. They sure are kiwimade.

Well it's my year of the lemons. The lappy is back in the shop. Couldn't get two pages to work at once. So they are going to take windows 10 out for me and cross fingers.
Lovely day here too. So much for the wet week we were meant to have.

Oh dear Popeye - think it best to keep clear of windows 10 for the time being, have heard of several people over the past couple of weeks that have had big problems with their computers when putting on windows 10.

Hope it is sorted quickly for you.

Looks like being a reasonable day. Have to go out later to supermarket then do a bit of baking to take with us tomorrow when going to Auckland to visit relies. Not keen on baking at best of times and not in an oven I don't know but will see how turns out - plenty of shops on way if it is a disaster.

Told BiL to sleep in today so he was up 7am - men are contrary aren't they? Lol.

Finished one top pattern says for 2 yr old but more like 6 months I think. Now doing one for a boy in 2 shades of green.

Have a good day

morning ladies :) Oh buggar popeye, that's a bit rough! I have no regrets rolling back W10, can now at least upload books to my Kobo.

I'm picking our son up today as well as our grandy's birthday cake then calling in to see dad on the way home. I've think I've found a way to put e-books from my kobo onto his kindle :) So hopefully it will work and I can still pay for my e books (or get the free ones) and pass them onto Dad.

No knitting for me yesterday, was busy outside enjoying the sunshine.

Happy knitting :)

Has been alot of rain here too. MrP still in bed listening to it.

Yeah not happy re the computer but at least the shop is helping.

More knitting for me. On the leg part of a green stocking. Not sure what I'll do after that.
Have to go to the super clinic on Monday so I might go to spotlight for a lemon and mauve.

Well have a wonderful day everyone.

Morning ladies (just I see looking at the clock!) didn't sleep well last night, I was still tossing and turning at 3am, but eventually nodded off then slept in till 9. Had a visit from the dietician - she sees an improvement in Mr K and I think he has improved slightly, but still nothing like his usual old self.

Yesterday I went to Kerikeri shopping and wasted money on groceries, that could have been spent on wool - pity we have to eat.

Read a good quote the other day "housework only comes before knitting in the dictionary!" but having said that I have washed the kitchen/dining room floor this morning and vacuumed the family room, and done one load of washing. Now to wrap a parcel and nip to town, then maybe plant the plants I bought yesterday, although Mr K says we're in for heavy rain this afternoon, so that might not be such a good idea - they might get damaged.

I finally finished my little summer shawl and Mr K commented that it looked lovely, and the colours suited me and the top I was wearing (unusual to get compliments from him!). I'll put a pic up later.

Puss doesn't seem very well, think she's got furballs, she keeps throwing up, so I seem to be constantly watching where I put my feet so I don't stand in something unexpectedly. What fun.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning ladies, have an awesome day kiwimade, relax and enjoy.

Beautiful morning here but boy did we have some rain last night! Must have been pretty widespread if you had it too carolev.

Here's a pic of the summer shawl I just finished:

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/416032935.jpg

and

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/416032881.jpg

I'm not sure whether I'll ever have occasion to wear it, but I'm really pleased with it and I love the colours. I wouldn't mind doing another one in 8 ply for winter, making it a bit bigger (another repeat of the pattern) which would mean I'd probably end up with around 700 or more stitches on - you only cast on 3 stitches to start - I can handle building up to a large amount of stitches but couldn't do one that starts with hundreds.

I have some sewing to do - nothing exciting a cover for the squab which my son's dog uses as a bed!

I'm also repairing a crocheted blanket which I made must be over 30 years ago. The final round of two of the squares had disintegrated, so I've removed them from the blanket and crocheted a new final round and now have to stitch them back in.

I don't think I will attempt to repair the one my gran made, it's more disintegrated than holding together. Shame.

Right, have an awesome day everyone.

Morning
Enjoy your day celebrating Kiwimade.
The shawl is lovely Kuaka, love the colours - was it a self striping wool or did you do stripes with different balls of wool?

Day has turned out better than forecasted here. We are off to Auckland to visit a nephew and family. Haven't been to their place before it is in New Windsor which I hadn't even heard off so great having an inbuilt GPS as I seem to have lost any sense of direction I used to have and just follow directions on that.

Will take knitting as know there will be sitting around talking.

Happy day all

jayemtoo - I used "lana grossa" sock wool (I think that's what it's called) it's about 4 ply equivalent and is 75% wool, 25% polyamide (whatever that is). I just loved the colours, and then when I started knitting it in a different pattern I didn't like it, but I liked the way it knitted up in this pattern. Weird.
