morning ladies :) I'm taking the Fluffy One home today so no doubt there will be some moping about from the Furry One. Dad arrived home safe and sound and has a duty free bottle of something for me so I'll pick that up at the same time.

Heaven knows what time I'll be home but I can get some crafting done this evening.

happy knitting :)

Morning ladies, I still feel lousy, although I think maybe not quite as lousy as yesterday. I've decided staying in bed is doing me no good, my cough is just getting worse, so I'm sitting up in my pjs and lovely warm dressing gown, and feel rubbish. Never mind, I can only get better - I hope.

Have to be a bit brighter tomorrow as I have to go shopping and pick Paul up from the airport. He won't want to catch my bugs.

As for the boat, haven't been there since Friday and had hoped to go today if I was feeling better but it's raining so I wouldn't even if I did feel like it.

Might have to do some tidying up and knitting today.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning
Look after yourself Kuaka and yes sometimes sitting up out of bed is better for the chest.
Had a most beautiful spring day yesterday but today overcast again although not very cold. Managed to spray the citrus trees as see they are getting black leaves again - I use a mixture of oil and dish washing detergent and it seems to work ok. Also need to do a bit of weeding but will see how I go later. The windows are awful after wind lately and there is so much pollen around but they will have to wait another week as have a friend from England coming and will clean them just before she comes - not keen enough to do them twice haha.

Out to see some people this am and do a few messages and then if all goes as planned will be able to knit and read later.

Take care everyone

Morning everyone

Ohh Kuaka, our dr told us years ago the worst thing to do when you have a chesty cold is to lay down in bed.. It fills your lungs with fluid. Hope you start in improve soon.

Ohh a bottle of something sounds good Kiwimade...

We had a lovely day yesterday. Catching up on some recorded tv and a yummy dinner.

Had a terrible night for sleeping tho. I just couldn't get comfortable. No matter how many times I changed, including sleeping sitting up. Ill take a pill tonight and Ill sleep whether Im comfortable or not lol

Knitting today. Started a green sparkly stocking.

Have a good day everyone

I've been fairly well propped up in bed, but not enough to be called sitting up in bed. See how long I last before I run out of puff today. I can't get much worse I'm sure.

Morning ladies, well if I am feeling a bit better, but only very slightly. In the end I got dressed yesterday as I was too hot in my pjs and dressing gown, but I didn't do a lot. I put clean sheets on my bed as I'd been in them for two whole days and nights and they felt grubby, and also had to put clean sheets on Pauls bed ready for him as I'd taken his sheets off and washed them when he left. Apart from that and cook a bit of tea, I just sat and knitted. Did some more on another c2c blanket which I started ages ago and knitted another coat hanger. Other than that I was lazy, and because it rained most of the day I didn't feel guilty.

Went to bed early but heavy rain woke me around midnight and it was still hammering down when I took half a sleeping pill at 3am. Everywhere looks sodden but clean.

Pauls plane is due in at 1pm, hope it's not late. It means I miss my usual mah jong afternoon but feeling the way I am I wouldn't have gone anyway as I wouldn't want to inflict what I've got on anyone else.

Plenty of time to potter round this morning before I have to go to the supermarket and airport. Just as well as I don't feel like rushing.

Have a super day everyone.

Morning everyone.. Wild and blustery here too.

I took a pill last night and didn't hear a thing... Not that I usually do anyway lol.
I slept like a log, only changed positions three times I think lol.. feel a lot brighter than I was yesterday that's for sure.

Only have 9 rows of green then 15 of white to finished a sparkly green stocking. Im enjoying making them. Nice and simple and I think they will sell. And if they don't it wont matter Ill use them as a part of our decorations. So I will need to make at least 2 of each colour.

Hopefully my new phone will arrive today, its even more exciting this time cos I already know how to use it lol. Its stupid really the Xperia is only $199 and my friend spent $899 on her Samsung. And they both have all the same functions. so in my opinion she spent$700 on a brand name.

Not sure if any of you watch Emmerdale, but yesterdays was great. Enough to actually make me turn the comp off and watch it, instead of half pie watching while on the computer lol.

Have a fab day all. Stay warm and dry

morning ladies :) Looks like it's going to be another wet day but then spring usually is an unsettled season.

I need to buy more wool for our grandy's jumper so will do that today so I can get it finished. I started a c2c blanket thing for the bedroom, lemony-yellow and should finish it soon. I'm crocheting it into a rectangle, not a square as I want it to go on the end of a bed.

happy knitting :)

Morning
Rain gone - looks fresh outside.

Good start to the day washing in, had coffee. Now getting organised to go out to do some chores and a couple of visits.

Should then have a nice quiet evening with knitting and book.

Happy day all.

Morning everyone

Still gloomy and grey here. I don't think the rain is far off. not cold tho which is nice
None of our winter power bills were over $140 so that's been great. The little heater fire thing we have is obviously economic.

Finished the green stocking last night and started another red. They are quite pretty. Ill probably do 3 of each and 4-6 of the rugby ones.

I got my new phone yesterday and all up and running and its lovely.. Ive never had a phone so easy to use.

Kind of expecting our Mrs landlord to come see us some day soon. Its a year on the 13th since the Mr died. Its gone soo fast. and Ive heard they are having an unveiling, so Wendy must be due home from Aussie soon.

Have an awesome day everyone

Morning ladies, I'm late this morning, only just got up. I coughed till 3.30am and then took half a sleeping pill. Don't know if I coughed while I was asleep!

Looks like being a fabulous day here but I thought the forecast was for rain or showers - time will tell. If it stays fine Paul and I will go and work on the boat, if not, we have a list of things for him to do like install the smoke alarms and fire bricks. I should be weeding the garden but that will have to wait till the boat is back on it's mooring and I'm feeling better.

Paul leaves again on 10th so I don't think I will be able to make another escape, as I don't have time to make the curtains for my son. Bugger!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Happy school day Kiwimade.
Looks like reasonable day here, hope it stays that way as need to go out this am and think BiL wants to go shopping later, sister is away and he doesn't drive so guess i can manage an extra wander around some diy type shops. I actually like poking around them fortunately.

Finished a small vest yesterday and onto the sleeves of the bigger kids Jersey.

Have a great day all

Morning ladies, well Paul and I worked on the boat till after 6 yesterday, and looks like being a fine day today so we'll be doing more of the same. Had an early night and slept like a log. Still feel tired and achy this morning. Paul says he didn't hear me cough much in the night. (He's in the next bedroom to me and the walls of course aren't soundproof! The night before I coughed till after 3am) I will have to knock off early today as Mr K has a nutritionist coming to see him at 2pm to try and get him on a diet which will help him regain some weight and hopefully sort out his erratic bowel habits.

So being home early I'll cook a leg of lamb for our tea with roast veg, so that will be nice for a change.

Have a super day everyone, and get some knitting done for me, 'cos I don't seem to be doing much lately.

Afternoon everyone
I dashed out early today in the crappy weather we are having.. Its blowing a gale and rainy one minute then sunny the next.

Hope its not too bad at school Kiwimade..

Do you have much more to do on the boat Kuaka?

Finished another stocking last night so will sew that up today.

HAve a fab day all

morning ladies :) I saw that programme advertised sunflowers then completely forgot. Might have to check it out on demand.

And yes it did get cold again carole. Wet lunch break for the kids yesterday and some lovely puddles for some to jump in lol. Thank goodness they all bring a change of clothes to school in the winter.

Back in the classroom for me today so while you're knitting for kuaka, could you put a few rows in for me as well lol.

happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2015-09-04 07:00:00

Morning ladies, yes, popeye, there is heaps still to do on the boat. We know we won't get it all done before the boat goes back on the mooring and then it's going to be very difficult for me to get out to her as the dinghy weighs 60kg which is a few kilos heavier than me, and I can't really move it on my own, can't drag it up and down the beach. I can row it fine, even though it's quite a long row, but if Mr K ever gets better enough to go out to the boat, then that will be a different story.

The nutritionist who came to see us yesterday was very good and very helpful and Mr K is feeling a bit more positive now than he has been the last few weeks. Apparently kiwifruit are good for constipation unless you have diverticular disease when the seeds can play havoc, also the seeds in tomatoes, eat the tomato but not the seeds. Sweet corn is a no-no. Anything with hard skins like apples are to be avoided, the apple is okay just not the skin. She's coming back to see us in two weeks. She also said to use wheatmeal bread (which is what we normally have) or high fibre white bread rather than the stuff with what I call "rat droppings", which he won't eat anyway 'cos he's got no teeth. Maybe if he can get his bowels more regular then he might start to feel better. Let's hope.

I did manage a few rows of knitting last night, but Paul and I stayed up very late enjoying a glass or two of wine and discussing what still needs to be done, and what order we are going to do it in. I can't imagine what I would have done if he hadn't been here all these weeks helping me. The boat would still be sitting on the mooring growing mussels and deteriorating with each passing day which is exactly what Kuaka (our little fishing boat) is doing.

I still have a list of jobs I would like Paul to do before he leaves on Thursday and he has a pair of new trousers which he wants shortened and that's the least I can do for him.

So happy knitting ladies, I might take mine with me and do a couple of rows when we stop for lunch.

Have a super day.

Morning
Did a couple of rows for you Kiwimade, but I won't help with your crocheting still don't really like doing it.

Yes Kuaka a good ripe kiwifruit every day works wonders, good that Mr K is feeling a bit more positive and as you say getting his diet sorted may make all the difference.

BiL is having a load of fibre delivered this am for his per litter so I will go and help him stack it. It comes in 10kg bags but they are quite large and awkward to manoeuvre rather than heavy.
Not sure why but was awake for quite a while at 3ish last night and looked out and both back unit and neighbour also had lights on. Back unit goes to work at 3.30am sometimes but unusual for 3 houses to have lights at that time of night. A hot drink and a good read sent me back to sleep no probs. and the smug feeling of hearing someone leave for work while I was still warm and cosy in bed!

Keep smiling and crafting

Morning everyone.
Another dull day here but thankfully the wind had died down to nothing. It really battered me about yesterday, and I'm a big girl.

Sounds like MrK has the same as my BIL. he cant eat anything seedy or nuts etc.. It puts him into overdrive.

Ill do some knitting for everyone. Started a green stocking last night.. Once that is done Ill start the rugby ones. They have black on them for the boots, so need to try and do that in the daytime.

I gave MrP a sleeping tablet last night. So he is up and feeling rather good and rested. Other than a sore throat which he thinks is from sleeping with his mouth open.

Have an awesome day everyone

Moring Everyone. No rain so catching up on the washing. Have been
unwell this last week.Others jobs can wait.
Kiwimade64 It worth catching it on demand. I have used the fibre in my felting, kniting etc.Enjoy working with it..
Kuka With the warm weather on it way you will feel better and feel like getting the jobs done. Good on Paul helping you make a list and what order to do the jobs.
With DH still away I have now to play catcup on some of the jobs which I was hoping to clear while DH is away.Working 4 morings a week as a T/A cuts into my day,but no way would I give it up.

morning ladies :) Had a very very busy couple of days in the classroom with some real challenges children wise BUT boy oh boy did I learn lots myself. Always good to gain more experience.

We have a funeral to attend this morning then I have some baking to do for Fathers Day tomorrow. My sister is cooking a Father's day lunch for Dad so I had better get him a pressie too lol.

Managed to get some crochet done but fell asleep on the couch with my hook in my hand lol. Took it as a hint to go to bed.

Happy knitting :)

Morning
Hope you are well on the mend again sunflower - yes it is a nice day here and the washing should dry nicely.
Good to keep your hand in with the teaching Kiwimade and new experiences are great in hindsite - even not so easy ones :)

Waiting for TV aerial man to arrive as found that the aerial is broken - hope it won't be too expensive.

Morning everyone... Yay we have blue sky and the sun.. its been AWOL for the last few days.
Nothing exciting happening here today either lol..
Have finished the second green sparkly stocking so will start a rugby colour one today.

Going to nip up and get some petrol while its cheap this morning too. $1-89.9 from Gull.. The others are $2-01.9. Since we have the trip to the super clinic on Tuesday.
Does mean I have to go to the bank to put money on my card to use it. For some reason my normal eftpos wouldn't work there. So I move the money about and use a different card lol.

Have an awesome day everyone

Evening ladies. Well another busy day working on the boat. I made a shepherd's pie before I went this morning and Mr K put it in the oven for me, so when I got home all I had to do was cook some pumpkin and greens.

I took my knitting with me, but then realised I couldn't do any because I needed to join the two pieces where I'd separated them o the bow knot scarf, but I hadn't brought an extra needle. Paul solved the problem:

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/408447400.jpg

so I did a few rows then when I got home I realised I had made a mistake and had to tink it anyway!

Have a super Sunday everyone. More of the same for me - working on the boat, that is.

Morning
Love it Kuaka, I have used odd things over the years but never thought of a screw driver but can imagine it would work ok.

Nice day but a bit cool, once have had second coffee, will get going, the garage is calling out that it is tired of being a mess, actually not too bad but needs a good sweep out so will do that and clean the car.

Onto second sleeve of Cardy then have a collar to do on this one, hope it is big enough as it is a thinish DK if not have plenty more wool to make a size larger.

Have a happy Father's Day

jayemtoo - 2015-09-06 08:45:00
7839

Morning everyone..
Love it Kuaka, Always something handy around to be used eh lol. I cant remember if it was Mum or MrP who learnt to knit on Meat skewers.. They would have been a bit rough on the wool.

Have had rain through the night. heavy at times too.. not cold tho which is good.
MrP is still in bed, so that limits what I can do.. But

Works in my favour.. I shouldn't have looked online for Christmas ideas last night. but have seen a couple of things I want to do.
But I wont allow myself to start them until I have finished at least 2 rugby stockings. About 3/4rs on one... I have to buy some ice block sticks to do one thing, so if I don't let myself go to the shop to get them I wont be able to start.
if I did have them the stockings would go on hold lol... Im quite disciplined when I have to be.. lol

Happy Fathers day for those with and who are dads, in your families.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies :) The suns out! Well, for now anyway. I've accepted my first booking of three students for three nights staying next month so it's a mad dash to get a few things done before they arrive. We're doing a B & B type thing for overseas students who want to stay rurally.

I've almost finished my c2c thing, will need to buy a couple more balls of yarn to get the last bit done and an edging of some sort. I also need to finish our grandy's jumper as she will be two in two weeks time and I can give it to her as part of her birthday pressie :)

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Wow Maddy being two soon... I was thinking the other day it must have been coming up. Cos Addy will be two near the end of November.

That's a good idea being a Rural B&B for the students Kiwimade. Gives them something different to see and learn about.

I think Ive been over doing my knitting. My whole hand is aching, especially my thumb. I finished the rugby stocking last night. Its Ok... Ill only be making one more of them tho.

So today Im going to play with some ribbons and beads. I saw an idea for trees made from them.

Up early cos the lawn boys should be here today... Its not raining as yet but there are heavy grey clouds out.

Have a good day everyone

popeye333 - 2015-09-07 08:04:00

Morning (just!)

But not just out of bed - been up for quite a while but decided to get windows cleaned before the sun comes too much onto them. Expecting a visitor who I haven't seen for over 30 years does encourage a bit of extra housework haha - anyway the windows really needed it as the pollen on them was making them almost opaque.

Onto the collar of the cardy will have to take it to Wellington next time i go and see how it fits Mr 3 as about the same size as the little lass I am knitting it for. Have plenty of the same wool still so think I will do a size bigger next just in case and there are others who can grow into this one.

Have a happy rest of the day.

jayemtoo - 2015-09-07 11:43:00
7845

lmao jayemtoo, nothing like visitors to make us get our a into g! Housework is done and a colour has been chosen for the first bedroom. We're going soft grey tones with yellow bits and bobs and white trim. I think I can squeak in time wise if I start stripping the wallpaper now(ish) and have it done for the students. Won't need a steamer as the paper is pretty loose.

So I'm off to buy a few test pots of paint and some wool to finish Maddy's jumper. Yep poopeye, those two years have whizzed by!

kiwimade64 - 2015-09-07 11:59:00
7846

Well the Ribbons and beads just wouldn't work. Need firmer ribbon. So Ill shelve that idea.
So I made up some more fridge magnets instead.
Been texting with my friend who is sharing the stall. she has had to hang up her Hook at the mo too.. We have both been over doing things.

We will both have a tally up soon and see how much stuff we have. she has a table and clothing rack too now. So we will have plenty or room for the stuff to be spread out a bit.

I like the sound of grey yellow and white.

Morning everyone.
Heck Im first lol.
Off to the super clinic this morning. To talk to the diabetes team. Will be interesting what they have to say. Ive written out my food lists etc.

It was very strange not knitting at all yesterday. very hard at night. But my thumb is a bit better this morning. I give MrP his insulin and it didn't hurt as bad to use my thumb.

I counted up yesterday. I have 269 items to sell.. That's including the hearts and stockings for bunting I started at the beginning of the year. but that means Ive done 139 items since May 10th.
Ill take photos before the sale.. 49 coat hangers lol.

Have a fab day all

Morning
We have as nice white frost - seems to happen on the days when I have to get up early, much prefer to look at it from my bed than go out into it haha.
Have put out the recycling and the grass was 'crisp'.

Hope the thumb improves Popeye - how frustrating no knitting!
Usual Tuesday I think, but will hopefully get the collar finished later.

Have a good day all.
