Caught up with that cardy and I'm half way up 2nd sleeve now. No bands to do either as they are done as part of the main knitting. If you are anything like me and you are ha ha, when you retire you will still be busy running flat out .I had to go up to the beach this morning so T could borrow my car because I got a towbar put on it. She took a load of firewood to my DIL's Mum way over west as she was going over that area to pick up a Bunk bed for K7. Its the same as J6 has. Bed on top and drawers and shelves underneath plus a pull out desk. He just loves the cubby underneath. They both are storing their Lego and other precious toys under there, J actually ;likes to hide under there ha ha.
I didn't get back until 4 and then after letting the dogs out I had to cook my tea. Did the last of the Bath Bombs and some sewing, Forgot about the knitting ha ha, Its really windy again here, I got some good specials from Millers awhile ago. I watched that movie with K7 today. What a hoot ha ha, T has decided to fly down to Christchurch so she can drive up with J21. I am driving back with her and will stay in Christchurch for a few days before I fly home. It will be late February , I have to book into a hotel or motel. Just waiting for J to give me dates, Ill be seeing you then ha ha,

We took Flurry to the vet yesterday and I think I had really hoped there was going to be a miracle answer. But instead he said he could feel a tumour in her belly and there was nothing we could do. I can't believe after having 3 here all these years, only Mac is left.She is the staunch matriarch, LOL, so I worry now how she will be with no-one to watch over.
My employment agreement rolls over today, hard to believe it's 3 years since moving into this job. I'm going into the shop this morning but I'm thinking I'll come home this afternoon, I think yesterday has taken it's toll.

I spent today, digging out the Christmas Decorations, putting them up and trying to tidy my shed. My Sil had put bags of cement in there and all sorts of sprays so I had to move things to get to the decorations, grrrr. I baked a loaf of bread and did my washing. Have to wrap presents tomorrow afternoon. I want that all done while they are away. I'm going to knit for awhile now. Yes those three years have flown.

I did come home at lunch time as I ended up with one of those headaches up the back of my neck again. So much for just being able to rest. Grrr. Once it was cooler I put some of my New World Little Garden plants in the glasshouse plus some lettuce plants that have been waiting patiently for a home. LOL. My herb garden needs a clean out next, I think. The mint has pretty much taken over. I'm currently working on a the 4 pieces to make a contrasting pink panel for a leaf blanket.

Better day yesterday but late night as I had the end of year dinner for our volunteer board. Tonight I have the shop's end of year dinner so it kind of feels a bit never ending. I had an end of year lunch last Friday for another committee and I have 3 more after tonight's over the next 10 days. I have completed the pink panel for the blanket and have switched to baby sox to use up some bits of wool in my knitting bag. LOL.

Oh all those dinners ha ha. I took Jed to the vet yesterday and he's thin but not in pain. Just aging. After I took the dogs to get groomed today I got a haircut. Did some shopping , posted my present as Secret Santa in the Knitting lotto group and raced back to get the dogs. Came home and realised I was nearly out of dog food so back down to the Suoermarket. I have plants to plant out as well. Half made a Christmas table cloth for T as she has a new Dining Room Suite. Mended 4 prs of shorts for K7 He rips the knees out of his long pants then I cut them down to long shorts . It took me 30 minutes tonight to put all the batteries I bought into the Christmas lights. I'm just going to make a smoothie for the morning and hit the sack.

Boy, you were running all day! My next Christmas function isn't till next Tuesday now, at the school. Tonight is the Christmas Specials night at our local Supermarket so we take our Christmas Club card down and stock up the freezer with meat and desserts for over Christmas. LOL. Usually lots of fun. One year we won a $100 grocery voucher as well so here's hoping. My leave entitlement has rolled over again and I have 43 days sitting there, twice as much as I should have at this point. I'm toying with the idea of taking Fridays off during Term 1 next year but I'm not sure how practical that will be. Sigh. But would be easier than trying to organise 2 weeks off during the year.

My back was out yesterday and last night I was in agony. Totally took all of the medication I could and just zonked out. I couldn't even walk up to the letterbox yesterday. Better today but still crunching sigh. Couldn't sew or knit so I moaned and read books ha ha. Dogs were disgusted with me. No walking ha ha. I have been able to bake some cupcakes for little E4 who is here tomorrow . I painted M8' s Treasure box and cut out two aprons. Not very productive ha ha.

Omg my ex Sil was at my widowed daughters home helping her put up a gate. He is so careful but he was skills awing a plank and hit a hidden knot the skills aw jumped and cut through his hand, smashed bones and is awaiting surgery. K7 and C6 saw it all happened and were so upset. My grandson rang and as his Mum was going in the ambulance, he got a neighbour to stay at her home and raced the boys to me. They are finally in bed. I had to do lots of talking and hugging. Although C is in a bad way my daughter rang and he told the boys he was ok so they settled down. S 28 will most likely go to the hospital to pick up his Mum or take her some clothes as she was in shorts and it's cold now. I was listening to a talkback show after I dropped E4 off to her mother and it was all about accidents with tools. The expert was saying sometimes no matter how careful you are the unexpected can happen. I was thinking about the boys of mine and chainsaws. Sigh. My back is still not right but needs must ha ha. I have to pick A ,S and the kids up tomorrow night. Plane arrives at 11. At lest I'll have time to clean up after the boys get picked up. I'm just going to watch TV until my meds kick in and then I'll fall into bed ha ha

Plane arrived late and we left the Airport at 3. I was home and in bed at 4 and up again at 6 because I had a meeting in the city at 10. Remember 3 years ago almost to the week My Toyota Vitz was written off when a young guy rear ended me? Remember I said last week I had just made the last payment on the Cube that I bought as a replacement?
Yesterday morning, on the way to the shop, a young guy in a tradie van cut across the traffic and stoved in the side of my car!!!!!!!!!!!!I am still feeling sick about it and now, of course, we are back to one car with me taking I. to work at 6am. We are waiting for the insurance assessor to let us know whether they can save this one but the right front wheel is bent inwards so they think something has happened structurally. AGAIN! I am still shaking but not sure whether it's still reaction (a bitr nervous driving the bigger car this morning) or sheer fury!!!

That's awful that you are suffering so much pain. We have had no internet since my last messaghe on here. All to do with more great changes Spark is making. Great, NOT! WE officially heard last night from the insurance company that they are going to pay to fix my car rather than write it off like last time. Phew. We had already heard from the Panel Beater that all the parts had ben ordered and we got to choose new mag wheels. The front side panel is being replaced, the mags as both front ones are broken, the suspension on one side and something else that I have forgotten. No idea, at this point, when I will get it back though.
Finally finished putting up the decorations last night. What a mission it seemed to be this year.

Well I sincerely hope your day was better than mine. I forgot to tell you my old cat Jed went missing two days after his vets visit. Hes gone for his final sleep in the paddock somewhere but we cant find him. Today Dunhill started yowling at 4 this afternoon. I didn't like the sound of it as he wouldn't eat this morning. Took him to the vet and they operated straight away. He had a blocked bladder again. He came through surgery ok but they'll ring me in the morning. This is the second time he has had a blocked bladder. Hes on a special diet so well see what they have to say. I am just muddling around trying to get some energy. Back is not good sigh. How did you do at the doctors today? My daughter went with me to get a new phone last week and I am still trying to work it out ha ha. I entered a Secret Santa for yarn related items. We had to enter a wish list I asked for a Milo Pattern and stated I didn't need any more yarn. I received three balls of Vera Jazz which up here is about $2 a ball at most and a Totty Clicker that guys use to see how well they are doing with the ladies which looked as if it had been dug out of a cellar. Total worth $ 10 at most our amount was $20 so I'm not impressed at all, All the other pressies people received were lovely. Mine wasn't even wrapt in Chrissy paper. I'm going to complain. I'm over being nice ha ha.

Mac is very lonely these days, she keeps calling for her sister and looks for us to be with. Apparently the new suspension and mags have been fiited on my car and it's back at the panel beaters for the new panel. Here's hoping by the end of the bnack I can get back to normal....
I have all sorts of tests to organise before Christmas as a result of going to the doctor. Even then I realised I forgot to mention the nerve problem in my leg and the lump on my foot. LOL. She didn't know what to suggest about my headaches, thought maybe the first accident 3 years ago may have caused an injury and now arthritis is affecting my neck which could be causing them. Really? She says she has never herard of a stress headache going up the back of your neck! I have always been told that for as long as I can remember. Sigh. What did I expect, after all. If anything shows up in thiese tests for everything else wrong with me at present, I hope she refers me on pretty quick.

I hope she does as well. Dunhill is improving and I might be able to bring him home tomorrow . I gave in and went to the dentist as the pain got too bad. He gave me antibiotics as I have an infection in my gum. Possible side effect from meds but I now have gum desease. Perfect teeth though duh. I have to see the Specialist after Christmas. That will cost an arm and a leg sigh. On another note our gardens are doing well. My snow peas are producing very well. Courgettes are growing too fast and the beans need to be picked.
I'm picking my grandson from Hamilton up on Saturday and have just arranged for little E4 to be picked up as well for the night. Brother and sister can open their pressies together yippee.
I want to take in two pairs of pants I bought. The legs are so wide but everything else fits fine ha ha. I won some auctions on lily bulbs in Oct . Messaged them twice no reply so I give up. I have bought from them before. In fact their beautiful Lillies are flowering here now . It's strange but I'm over chasing sellers. Ha ha.

What's the lily sellers feedback like? And wide leg pants are the 'in' thing this year, didn't you know? I have bought a pair of light blue and white pinstripe ones in a medium weight muslin like cotton. I love them, so comfortable. I'm doing all those medical tests this morning on the way to work and I'm really hoping for a phone call today or tomorrow to pick up my car. All our programmes finished yesterday including the Women's Group lunch at the Raspberry Cafe in Tai Tapu. A bit rushed time wise as they were so busy but the food is lovely. I brought a piece of Ginger Kiss Cake bake for afternoon tea and OMG it was wonderful!! Lighter than sponge in 3 layers with butter cream in between. I have to find the recipe now. LOL.

Sellers feedback is good. not a nursery but they sell a lot of plants, yes I know that wide legs are in but my legs are skinny at the top and I look stupid in wide legs. they are comfortable ha ha, I still haven't sold my other car, A is doing it and she is sick of people making arrangements to come and not turning up grrr. Plus people ask the most ridiculous questions, Has it been serviced every 6000 ks? Its an old BMW not a new Rolls Royce ha ha. Why are you selling it, Why so cheap, etc, Shes been driven mad she says. We went to Pak an Sav tonight for the 2nd Christmas Club night and A won a Coffee Maker. Its a Caprino Expresso Capsule. Its smaller than the one she has and she cannot use two so she gave it to me. I do enjoy a expresso now and then ha ha, My Ipad is in a bad way ha ha, I'm using the Laptop. Dunhill is at home and I am $900 poorer sigh. Hes his naughty self. I have to find some other Urinary Tract Food Suppliers for him as I'm not paying $37 a bag for his food sigh.

Glad about your car. Whoop whoop. Not great on the medical side though sigh, Big Hugs. I'm still giving Dunhill the dry food but not that wet stuff. Have to keep trying brands, Picked E4 up at 11 then A picked J 13 her big brother up. First time for over a year we have had both siblings together. Had their Christmas early together. We all went to see Trolls at the movies. E had her cousins in stitches as she had eaten her icecream before S28 and J13 were halfway through theirs and they all started at the same time. After the movies we all had tea together and then thise two opened their presents and the others opened one present each. A lovely day. She went home at 12 today and her Mum couldn't believe all the things E was telling her as I unloaded my car into hers ha ha, She would not let anyone open her Toddler Elsa Doll and Lego from her Dad, Wanted to take it home intact. Bless her, M8 gave her a Dora suitcase on wheels full of her dressups dresses and little miss wore them all for us to see ha ha. She told me shes coming back when Mummy has to work after Christmas for a day and night ha ha. So that's all arranged, I'm so pleased she had such fun with her cousins who treated her like a baby Princess.
Tonight I took J up to the beach to stay with his Aunty T. I just got back and its bed for me. Antibiotics are kicking in and Jaw is not throbbing, just aching.

That early Christmas sounded wonderful for those kids. We leave for Spencer Park, a local holiday park, on Friday till Monday which will be a new experience for the boys. Daughter S and B8 will only be there Friday night and we are doing an early Christmas morning for B on Saturday. Not sure if S's partner is coming with his daughter or not. Sigh. A bit hard to plan for. My sister and her husband are flying in from Wellington on Saturday and joining us for CHristmas Dinner (camping style) that night. We will be home on Boxing Day to get the laundry done etc so we can make the long drive up to Blenheim to spend a copuple of days with Mum and Dad. It's goiung to be a nearly 8 hour trip each way with not being able to use the main highway up the coast (usually a 4 hour trip and that's stopping for coffee).
I finish work tomorrow, thank goodness, leaving me a couple of days to get organised.

My week has just gone to hell in a handbag, as they say. I had my appointment confirmed yesterday afternoon for mid-January. So I was back into gear sorting out Christmas stuff and organising to finish work today. By 6pm the Surgeon rang me to say we can't wait that long and changed booking to tomorrow and added an Endoscopy as well. No food allowed all day today and I'm taking the senior staff for lunch!!!! So much for not letting them know what's going on yet. And I'm just plain terrified about tomorrow. S. is helping as she's been through it all before so many times but then the nerves kick in again. I really need to get my head straight to finish work and not forget anything. Then I've only got Thursday to get organised and S reckons I'll get a phone call with the results then, too. OMG.

Hope it goes ok for you. I'm not seeing my specialist until after my holiday. I'm not missing that and even though the constant pain drives me crazy I'm just trying not to worry about it. Christmas has gone to hell here already with constant bickering I'm over it. In fact if it were not for my grandchildren I would run off somewhere by myself to get some peace and quiet. Ha ha.

Ok, It's not great news, I'm afraid. I have cancer. Surgery scheduled on 9th January as soon as hospitals re-open after Christmas. Yesterday was so full on with family around most of the day and having to make difficult phone calls to re-organise work stuff for the start of the year and of course telling my parents so they had time to process before I see them next week. I even found myself telling my sister what I needed her to do in terms of her suporting them once I made the call. Unherad of, LOL. Today my getting ready for camping tomorrow is being interrupted by chest x-rays ( although I have bowel cancer) and a CT scan. Tomorrow I have to see the Surgeon again before I go. No rest for the wicked it seems.
I was in two minds whether this news should have been an email or thorough here but I remembered Zoey who started us up I don't know how many years ago and the legacy she left us in regards to our friendship. Maybe whoever else pops in to read our stories will gain something, too.

Oh my dear friend I'm gutted for you. Yes your parents will need support. Before my sister had her surgery she told Mum. Mum was devastated but it turned out ok for my sister. She is tired quicker but the surgery seems to have got most of it . That was 5 years ago.
What a hard Christmas you will have, Its difficult being cheerful and happy all the time for the grandchildren but somehow you do it.
things are settling on the family front here. thank heavens. I will admit I'm scared to go see the Specialist after New Years, I don't fancy having surgery to cut some of my gum away. ugh Out of antibiotics and infection is still raging ugh.
Talking about Zoey I often wonder how she is. She was very sick.

Had a fabulous Christmas with Whanau coming and going all day. Ive been here and there ha ha. Picked up E4 this morning so we are visiting her Aunts and Uncles today. Just having a break while the girls watch a DVD, I was spoilt rotten with pressies and all my friends gave me chocolates so I'm trying to ration them to the children as I have eaten enough extra calories ha ha. I actually did some sewing on a Quilt last night as I was alone. My grandson arrived from Wellington, stayed a night and is now moving from house to house to catch up with all his cousins. Can you believe the hospital admission papers need to be in at least 7 days before surgery but the hospital is actually completely closed till the day of surgery!!!! Going to try emailing them but it's a crazy system. I have finished the knitting order and half way through doing the end of month cheques for shop members. My gums are still aching but I am using a paste of Tumeric and Coconut oil which eases them a lot longer than stupid painkillers. I will ring my specialist midweek if he is there lol.
I have been diligently hand sewing those flowers on that little lapquilt and I think they are multiplying ha ha, Its taking forever.
My back is stiff in the mornings but its ok touch wood,
I will do the big clean up today and then its back to normal ha ha.

You are so organised despite not having been well yourself. Happy New Year to you, too. We worked on the front garden yesterday as it was driving me crazy looking at it. I had frequent rests because of my back but it does seem better for the exercise. There is still one small strip to do but 30 degrees today so far too hot for that. LOL. Not sure how much of the back I will get done before next Monday. So frustrating, I am so far behind this year. I have started knitting a pair of Teddy pj's to put in the shop when I drop in there on Thursday.

The heat was too much for me yesterday. Managed to get the groceries done but slept most of the afternoon. LOL. Today much cooler so hopefully more productive.

I slept most of yesterday ha ha. I got up , cleaned the cottage and sat in my chair and just kept dozing. In the end I gave up and went back to bed. Still got aching joints but feel much lighter today. A and S have been putting down weedmat and planting their banks. Three hundred flaxes and grasses and native trees so far. I cant help. Back just not up to that ha ha. I need to be more productive today as well. Its drizzling which is great for the kids banks.

Only dozed for half an hour at tea time yesterday, thank goodness. I got much more done. My back is feeling better but now have a sore throat which had better not come to anything! I have finished teddy pj's so now need need amnother manageable project to finish before I go into shop on Thursday.

And no nap yesterday at all. I gave I. a haircut, remembered to cancel my hair appointment for next week, did the end of month cheques etc for the shop, bought a new dryer and vacuum cleaner, weeded the beans and knitted a beanie and started another panel for the blanket. And would you believe there was no way I could get to sleep last night. That's the 3rd night in a row now it's been the early hours of the morning I finally drop off. Trouble is I. is back at work the rest of this week so I'm up at 5am again. I'll bet I nap today! But first have I's car to take for a warrant, B8 is coming over this morning so son S and DIL are bringing the other 2 over and we will take them for a swim. Yep, it's raining here but there's an indoor pool handy.

200meters! That is quite an effort, alister1. I guess it depends on what thickness yarn you have used but could you stitch it into a coil for a circular blanket or a mat or a table top cover? You could stitch into a square or oblong piece by winding the rats tail to left and right and stitching it in place, too. Good luck.
