I've started another one of the leaf pattern blankets but doing it on larger needles this time. Will probably be a stop start project if I start going mad with the repeitition. LOL. B11 and L9 are sleeping over tonight as parents are working late. Going to be a hectic morning tomorrow.
I hope you are feeling better, makerealbany.

Feeling better today but I have shingles. No wonder I was feeling lousy, Ah well I guess Ill get over them. Ill call into the Dr tomorrow and grab some meds on my way back from town. I got my hair cut yesterday but I don't like it. I have refused to put colour in my hair for months now and its starting to settle into a grey shade ha ha, I managed to get the felt with the adhesive backing on to put in the Treasure box. Its nearly $5 for a small sheet and I got 3. I had not bought any in years. also got Christmas Material for M8 to sew with for $2 a meter on special. Bonus ha ha, I also got a pile of lovely crocheted doilies for the quilt. I bought some of TM last week but got some more from the op shop and two beautiful white linen tablecloths with crocheted edges. The lady in the Op Shop said they had had them for ages as no one was interested any more. She's keeping any more she gets for me.
I'm dropping the kids at school tomorrow on my way into town but their Dad can get them ready ha ha, You will be running tomorrow.

Boys are still asleep. LOL. I had supervision yesterday and felt worse after than before. Before I went I was rushed and frantically busy. I talked for an hour about the issues I have faced recently at work but found that because she hadn't monitored the time or checked with me along the way about what I needed to resolve any of it or to look at possible strategies I was left feeling cut off and angry and resentful. I know it's a form of accountability but I try to leave my own clients with a plan going forward and I just feel now she has this information but I'm almost worse off having no time this week to try and work through this stuff for myself. Grrr. She said she had decided not to charge for the next 6 months as a gift to our organisation but I'm thinking ' just as ^*#^* well' ! The next session isn't scheduled till early December and not sure I' ll be going at this point. It's not the first time, now I'm writing this, that I've been obviously upset at the end of a session and yet there has never been a follow up call just to check I'm ok. Too bad if I wasn't.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-27 06:35:00
7604

That is not very good at all. Maybe you need to change your Supervisor.
T has been getting lots of text messages and phone calls now that they have announced that she has resigned, There has been hell going on there, Consultants are up in arms, her staff are upset, etc. Anyway she is going in next week to say goodbye, She has another job offer already but she needs a rest for awhile. She is enjoying her time at home. So is little K7. I cant go looking at cars until Guy Fawkes weekend because my son is away in Wellington this weekend to see A20 perform in a Show. I cant go as I have to travel up North on a Family Matter. No rest for the wicked ha ha. I'm also supposed to be at a Land AGM in Rotorua but cant be in two places at once.

makerealbany - 2016-10-27 21:53:00
7605

And you are not well! Love the 'Family Matter' with capitals. LOL. I actually heard from my daughter S on Wednesday for the first time since Father's Day! I haven't seen B8 since the July Holiday Programme and yet they live closer than my son's family! B has been treated for warts on his fingers for years but now the pad on one of his thumbs is badly distorted so they x-rayed it. He now has an urgent referral to a Paediatric Tumour Specialist! He has no feeling in his thumb and the xray showed a growth that has taken over the top of his thumb and the full length of his thumb to the big fleshy bit where it joins to his hand. Now we wait for the asppointment date to find out what next. Scary stuff.

A week full of highs and lows, but last night was a definite high. The Fancy Dress Party we put on for the kids at work went really well. I was home before 9am but was absolutely exhausted. LOL. Slept like a log but very stiff and sore this morning. I'm getting too old for this game. LOL. I hope your weekend goes well, makerealbany.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-29 07:32:00
7607

An excellent day yesterday with all my grandsons together for the first time in 6 months! Even daughter S stayed for lunch AND she has paid her motel unit at the camping ground for thje one night prior to Christmas. Just for her and B8 apparently (here's hoping it stays that way). She still won't be seeing us Christmas Day though. Sigh. However we'll make the most of what she's got to offer at this point.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-30 10:15:00
7608

Omg poor little B. You are right it is scary stuff. I'm exhausted after my driving up North but it went very well. That's so sad that you wont see S and B on Christmas day. What can you do though sigh. Sometimes , in fact quite a lot of the time our kids drive us mad, My daughter and Sil are driving me mad changing where they are putting this shed, the dog run. the new decks, etc. Its all exhausting and I feel like running away. Id better go to bed and sleep on it before I say something Ill regret ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-10-30 21:47:00
7609

It's been a while since your last trip away on holiday, hasn't it? Are you planning another? What about visiting friends instead of family? LOL. Not that I can talk. We started sorting out the vege garden yesterday. One part is done and the beans are in, I bought plants this year instead of seeds. Instant effect! LOL. Finished an order for a dolls blanket in reverse colours in the leaf pattern to the one already in the shop. Customer taking both. Now I'm back working on the cot size leaf blanket on larger needles.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-31 06:43:00
7610

Yes I will get around to planning a holiday ha ha. I started the legs on the teddy bear then I have the arms to do, Spent the day out shopping and browsing lol No kid duty as Sil is home and I'm being self absorbed ha ha, I had a good time buying scented candles, I need to do a lot of jobs tomorrow though. Tomatoes and peas need staking, Cucumbers need to be planted out. Citrus need to be fertilized, quilt needs work to have it done by Christmas, The list is endless ha ha,

makerealbany - 2016-10-31 22:50:00
7611

Yep, I have endless lists, too. The result is having to come home early yesterday with anotjher of those headaches up the back of my neck. Even neuromol doesn't seem to help all the time. Sigh. Now I have to catch up today as well as start the Self Esteem workshop, organise the Christmas Wreath activity for the Women's Group tomorrow and organise afternoon tea for the older kids group after school.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-01 06:40:00
7612

2 panels completed on the blanket now. Doing it on the larger needles is certainly making it larger and the knitting has a softer drape than the last one. Still going to take a while though so may have to do some dolls clothes over the weekend so at least I have something to take in on Monday. LOL.
The rhododendron I thought was on it's way out because it wasn't watered enough at the end of summer is in full bloom! The leaves don't look healthy at all but the flowers are stunning. There are new lerave shoots as well so I'm going to continue giving it lots of TLC and see what happens.

I love when plants come back to life. Big dramas here the water pump is going on every 9 mins . We cant find the leak but it looks like its under the new driveway duh. great fun not. The new fences are just waiting for the colour steel. my shed is being discussed once again sigh, I could have built it myself ha ha. The legs pattern is awry so I am trying to improvise ha ha, Lots of running around to do tomorrow but I'm getting there. Sounds like those tension headaches are really giving you hell. You have a full on Job which is darn stressful. My daughter cannot believe the relief she is feeling after finishing her Job, She has done so much around her home its looking amazing outside, Shes got a new fence on one side. The new owners organized it all and she paid half. shes putting a new I.8 fence along the back as that was is short and it backs onto the park, She had a fence put up on the other side a few years ago. Six foot fences are very costly. My Sil S cut done a huge tree in the backyard for her and there is so much more room. She gained a metre and a half on her boundary with the new neighbours. They got it surveyed and the old fence was way out. She always knew that because we measured the boundaries when her and her late hubby purchased it. The new Owners got a shock though. They can no longer drive around the back of the flats.

makerealbany - 2016-11-03 00:11:00
7614

It's awful that mistakes like that happen and aren't found out till years later. So where to from here for your daughter? And OMG are you saying they may have to break up your drive to fix the leak?!!!!! The Christmas Wreaths were lots of fun yesterday and today we have a Neighbourhood lunch organised for all our neighbours. Tomorrow hopefully I can get my head back to 'normal' work after all these special one-off events. I'm all peopled out. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-03 06:55:00
7615

I'm not sure where she wants to work now. She has got offers but wants to have a break until after Christmas. She has worked a lot of Christmas days and she is over it ha ha. Now they have ruled out the driveway for the leak but who knows still testing and digging grrrr. I'm peopled out as well. Ill be glad when the kids go to Figi but S is off nest Tues for two weeks in PNG then he comes back and they fly out the next day lol. I have lots of sewing to finish then.

makerealbany - 2016-11-03 23:22:00
7616

Big rain storm here yesterday afternoon after a lovely 20 degrees up till then. Half an hour into the rain I got a call from the shop that there had been a big bang and then water started pouring down the inside of one of the walls at the end of the shop which is shared by another business. Completely flooded their end. Apparently a blocked drain had caused enough pressure to pop a beam in the roof. Major drama but workmen got there pretty quick it seems. We were only saying a few weeks ago that this is the first shop ever, that we haven't had to worry about a leaky roof. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-04 07:18:00
7617

Building Insurance assessor is saying 1 exterior wall and one internal one need to come down. There are fans and heaters going all day and night. Thank goodness they took the power meter reading before they started. Looks like interesting days ahead. (Again). We had L9 overnight again last night as his Mum has her first exam on Monday and is studying and son S is trying to pick up extra hours to help out financially. L is easy to have around and has a wicked sense of humour. I finished the 3rd panel on the blanket last night and with doing it on larger needles has made a bigger difference than I expected. Yippee, hopefully less work but I'm going to work on dolls clothes this weekend ready for shop on Monday. Daughter S has heard back from Tumour Specialist re B's thumb but the appointment isn't till the 16th so more waiting for them.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-05 06:53:00
7618

That's awful about the shop. What a drama you poor thing. If it's not one thing it's another sigh. My Sil is off again on Tuesday so I don't know what he has done about the leak. I was out with my son buying a new car yesterday I pick it up on Friday whoop whoop. They offered me a trade in but the price was too low so I told my eldest grandson who is not working because of mental health issues that if he could sell it for more I would take the price they offered and he could have the rest. He's very happy and keen. Christmas is coming and he has C6 to buy for. C23 his younger brother has someone keen already. Last night I went up to T's at the beach as A and S had 5 families here for dinner and Guy Fawkes. I thought it would be quieter there. Ha ha. My grandsons and my great grandson had a great night. When I drive home the air was I arrived in the Village was thick with smoke ugh. All the dogs were locked up at my place. Dunhill the cat was asleep on my bed. Jed was asleep in his house on the front porch and Puss had curled up in her dog kennel in the garden. She would never go in a cat bed but has taken ownership of the new plastic dog kennel. It's quite funny really seeing this little cat in the big kennel. Even the dogs know it's hers. They use the ones on the decks.
I hate waiting for results. Still waiting on my last lot. Usually it's faster but if they send them to my GP I have to wait. They do that so she can ring me and say' I need to see you " ugh.
I'm off to the Library this morning then I have a meeting after lunch about our Community Christmas Party for the children in the area. A put our names down and now she'll be in Figi so I'm stuck with it ha ha. It should be a breeze not ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-11-06 09:24:00
7619

That was a full on weekend for you! LOL. Congratulations on the new car.
Went out to watch I. racing yesterday. He threw the bike over a bank in the first race! Took 2 laps of the other bikes to get his back on the track. He has a very black thumb and sore hip, shoulder and elbow this morning. I was feeling really ill when he came off. Grrr. I have to pick up son S. and the 2 boys from the mechanics this morning to get him to work by 8, boys to school by 8.30 amd me to the shop by 9. Another Grrr. DIL said she she had all organised as her exam isn't till 10 but no 'has' to go to library to study by 7 this morning apparently. Grrr.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-07 06:30:00
7620

I'm back working on the blanket. The dolls clothes never made it to the shop as I still have the wee jersey to do to match the overalls. ONce I was there yesterday I found the repair work to be done wasn't what had been described to me thank goodness and it doesn't look as if they are going to be in any hurry either. Supposed to rain on Friday and Saturday so we'll see wehat happens then. Sigh. It's a short week this week at work as it is our Anniversary Day on Friday. Hooray. We are out for dinner with friends Thursday night to celebrate my birthday and one other this weekend. Family are here for dinner FRiday night and I'm going to try out a new dessert recipe which needs to be frozen overnight. Looks like I will be up early on THursday morning to get it done before work. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-08 06:54:00
7621

Hope I is feeling a bit better than he did when he came off the bike. What would your DIL do if you weren't around to pick up the slack all the time. She takes advantage that girl. Ive been in contact with my ex Dil about seeing my granddaughter. She is deciding ugh. I asked her nicely if we could meet to discuss it or would she prefer to go down the Legal track again. It can be very frustrating .
I made Bath salts last night and baked tonight,
Sil left for PNG at 4 this morning and last night he was working on that leak until 9. Tonight A rang in a panic. She had no hot water for M8 to have a shower. J6 had his but he was ok, It ran out and M was freezing. She raced over here and jumped in mine singing away. A's cylinder is only about two years old if that so we will need to get a Plumber in after all, sigh, She will be racing over here early and I will go over there to watch the children in my PYs ha ha,

makerealbany - 2016-11-08 22:56:00
7622

The slight i njury I. suffered on the bike will be nothing to when I get hold of him tonight. I've just found an extra $5,000 in our account that he has borrowed from a finance company to help our son buy a new bike!

grizzly4 - 2016-11-09 06:45:00
7623

Yesterday was awful, I have to say and today I feel like I've been hit by a bus. No where organised to make that dessert this morning and this point I'm not feeling much up to celbrating any birthday. It's going to be a long day.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-10 07:04:00
7624

Omg that naughty man. That's dreadful. Did you skin him ? Why do Men do such stupid things. Because they can that's why. I can understand you not wanting to celebrate . You have to start looking after yourself and to hell with everyone else. I did that for a few days ha ha. Gave me a new energy to get up and go again. I've now started saying. Sorry I'm tired lol. It's working.

makerealbany - 2016-11-10 23:31:00
7625

Good on you! LOL. I will try and take a leaf from your book. Yesterday improved by the time I'd had a couple of Jim Beam's over dinner last night at LOne Star. LOL. I'm not much of a drinker so paying for it a bit this morning. Son S and the boys coming over for the day, DIL will be here by tea-time. Tomorrow I'm going out for coffee with daughter S and B8 and then family here for dinner tomorrow night. I guess I haven't found the right leaf yet. I'll keep looking.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-11 10:05:00
7626

I. has given me a lovely cake mixer and icecream maker for my birthday! Yippee, new toys to play with (once I've read all the manuals). Yes I knew it was coming so I bought 2 new baking books yesterday, too. LOL. Yesterday I also made a Mocha Icecream Cake for tonight. Apparently it's 514 calories for a small wedge!!!!! I'll let you know how it tastes (if I can get it out of the tin I have put it in to freeze it. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-12 09:00:00
7627

It tastes great! I even had 2 slices!

grizzly4 - 2016-11-13 10:32:00

I must be going senile. I was sure I posted last night. I drove to Rotorua yesterday so maybe I forgot to press the post button duh. I had a good day yesterday, I cant wait until I pick up my new glasses ha ha, A belated Happy Birthday girl. that Mocha Icecream cakes smells and tastes devine. wishful thinking ha ha Ill have a strawberry cupcake instead.

makerealbany - 2016-11-13 22:35:00

So tired, this morning. I've not slept since the big earthquake at midnight set off all the rest round NZ. I feel sick that we are going through this again, but checking the news photos this morning so is most of NZ. I didn't realise how extensive it was so haven't contacted Mum and Dad in Blenheim yet not that I can get to them anyway as State HIghway 1 is closed at various points between here and there.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-14 06:34:00
7630

I feel so bad for all those people cut off because of the earthquakes. I heard from Mum and Dad yesterday morning, thank goodness, and they are ok. Will have to contact them again today as they have had some nasty shakes over night.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-15 06:49:00
7631

You ok, makerealbany? It seems like forever since the earthquakes started on Monday morning. We are trying to work out at work how we can get care packages up to the children in Kaikoura as soon as possible. Our programmes received them on a regular basis in 2011 and it really boosted the kids morale geting letters from all over NZ with wee gifts. Mum and Dad are still coping, I just hope the ongoing anxiety doesn't start affecting MUm's heart condition. There is no way the roads will be clear by the time we want to go up in December so I'm checking out flights around that time now. The extyra hours going inland doesn't make the trip worth a couple of nights stay and MUm gets too tired if we stay longer and gets upset if I suggest a motel. Can't win. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-16 06:55:00
7632

Omg what a week so far. A is home and I'm back in the cottage. Both kids were sick so it wasn't easy. My SIL's mum was in Wellington and was a mess. Poor thing. My granddaughter was terrified and flew to Auckland the next day. Her Dad was there working and he was okay. He said plaster was dropping on him in the hotel. A's mirror smashed in her room so her Aunty stayed up with her all night . My grandson who has moved to Wellington said he's used to it duh. My granddaughter J in Christchurch said " It was bloody scary Nana" Being away from family is hard on her. None of them had ever been in an earthquake before except K from Christchurch. He said the earthquakes are following him . What a lot of damage there is. Makes you feel very vulnerable. I have to get my glasses this morning. So I am dashing off. My daughters internet went out with the phone but is now back grrrr.

makerealbany - 2016-11-16 08:38:00
7633

'They' reckon there will be makeshift road through to Kaikoura by the weekend so at least supplies can be delivered into there soon. I was reading this morning on Stuff about the loss of the seal and bird colonies, which is awful. That drive through from Christchurch to Blenheim has become such a regular part of our lives over the past few years, I can't believe it's not going to be the same anymore. Very, very sad.
Good on K for putting his experience in CHristchurch to good use in terms of not reacting overly this time round. He will be good support for the others.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-17 06:45:00
7634

B8 has seen specialists and a surgeon now, about his thumb. They think it is a calcium deposit which can be removed easily with surgery. It is unusual for his age but they don't think it's anything more serious than that. Public health means a wait of up to 6 months so S is taking him private so it will be in a couple of weeks. Just as well as that thumb is changing on a weekly basis! I can only imagine what it will be like in 6 months.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-17 06:48:00
7635

I'm surprised it's a calcium deposit as well. I've got lots of that with my arthritis but to see it in one so young. While Mine are cacifying they burn like hell. Poor B8 I hope he's not in a lot of pain.
Yes everything is changing now. I was shocked when I saw it all on the news. Wellington has worse to come so they say. J21 is travelling up on the 21st to Wellington to stay with K26 for a night then she will drive up to Auckland. I'm thinking of driving back with her after Christmas and staying in Christchurch for a few days as a break for me. Plus I don't want her traveling that far by herself.
I had another hell day but so glad I can have a rest tomorrow ha ha. M8 had to go back to the doctor who now says its not a virus but bacterial. She can't hear properly and temps are all over the place. A is very tired as well and says she does not care how much they pay her she won't work for that Company again. Lol.

makerealbany - 2016-11-17 22:23:00
7636

It's full on at your place!Flights to Blenheim just after Christmas will cost us nearly $550!!!!! Looks like we'll be going the long way round unless some miracle happens along SH1 within 6 weeks. Sigh. B8 is in no pain at all, there has already been permanent damage caused to the nerves in the pad of his thumb. He has already compensated for that loss of feeling by holding his pen differently. I am working on dolls clothes for the shop currently, the blanket went in on Monday after deciding to go with the cot shaped size rather than a square. It was mainly about not being able to match more of the blue wool I was using. I went and bought up white acrylic big time yesterday to start another one. I found large amounts of a dusky pink in the stash cupboard for the contrast panels.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-18 06:42:00
7637

Its ridiculous the price of airfares in NZ. I'm pleased B8 isn't in pain.
Yes its a crazy place here at times sigh. I had sorted out the Knitting Machine Wool I was given to give to someone else. I meet her and handed over the wool and we are talking about a Knitting Club. ha ha. That was two boxes out of my cottage. I also took up two boxes of odds and sods to the Op Shop today so my cleaning frenzy is working ha ha. I managed to sew on about 10 flowers on the Flower quilt tonight. I have so many UFOS its not funny ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-11-18 23:53:00
7638

I have a few UFO's. The sock monkey I started at the Women's Group on Wednesday, the polar fleece blanket Istarted as a gift ages ago and which needs to be given at a meeting on Friday! However I have so many things needing to be done inside and in the garden but it;'s just not happening trying to keep everyone else happy. I am so envious of your clean up, right now. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-19 07:29:00
7639

A great day out in the sun watching daughter S racing her off-road Pajero with her Dad as passenger. I watched, took phoptos and worked on the fleece blanket. Applique teddy all done now and I still have to blanket stitch 3 sides beforte Friday. I wouldn't have got that much time on it if I had stayed at home. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-20 18:15:00
7640

And so another week starts..... On my own in the shop today unfortunately but I do have 2 sets of dolls clothes to go in and a crocheted dolls blanket. It's supposed to be 26 degrees here today so here's hoping.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-21 06:46:00
7641

It wasn't that warm here. I had things to repot, etc. After my day out with E4 my youngest grandchild I was very tired last night. After I spent the day with her I called in to see a friend on the way home as well. She restores old knitting machines. It was amazing she had 4 machines all set up. She dies lots of Charity knitting and sewing. We laughed and talked non stop ha ha. I took her odds and sods of wool as she knits heaps of beanies for the homeless and blankets for the SPCA. She also dyes fabulous wool and messaged me last night to say she is gifting me 200 gradient in my colours. She's such a cool chick. My age and rides a big motorbike ha ha. We are going to get together again. Today I did get some ironing done and sewing. I also experimented with some toilet bombs. They work ok.
A has the cleaning bug and is sorting now. Thank heavens ha ha. Now that girl has cupboards overflowing lol.
I want to work on the blue quilt tomorrow and have two skirts to make for E4 for Christmas. Hope you weren't too busy in the shop by yourself.

makerealbany - 2016-11-21 23:13:00
7642

keyboard on computer not working now. sigh. having to use touch screen. your friend sounds amazing. i feel like i'm getting really behind in lots of stuff so trying to focus on finshing things.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-22 06:31:00
7643

Yes I should do that as well. m wanted bath bombs for presents so we did that after school then she wanted to plant more seeds so we did that, After tea I ran away to do some shopping. Got back home at 10,30 an after unloading the shopping and putting the groceries away I made another lot of Toilet bombs. bedtime now ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-11-23 00:17:00
7644

I don't know how you can do all that so late at night! Keyboard seems to be working this morning. Sigh. Looks like we are going to have to make another difficult decision regarding one of our white cats. She has always been the delicate one to look at and has never been a big eater compared to her romper stomper sister. Over the last couple of weeks she has lost weight s fast and appears to be losing muscle tissue as well. They are 16 this Cristmas. I have wormed her and keep changing the food we offer, some days she eats more than others and she's purring away but doesn't move far from our bed now. She's not being ill like Jinx this time last year but she seems to have become a very old cat overnight. So sad. And I worry how Mac will be if we lose Flurry.

grizzly4 - 2016-11-23 06:45:00

I remembered to take a photo of the blanket. LOL.

I have a pale pink piece of fleece and I thought I might might search for a unicorn template for a change. In between panels for another leaf blanket I am asl;so working on a crossover baby cardy with varigated pastel fairisle border. I also have fabric borders to sew on face cloths for the fundraising table at work. A few projects on the go that need finishing.

Flurry has moved her spot from our bed to the mat in front of the front door. Luckily it's a ranch slider so we can get round her. I'm thinking she can't get up on the bed or chairs anymore. I've given her her bed on top of a sheepskin by the mat but she's staying on the hard mat. We are trying to get a vet's appointment this weekend.

Wind really strong here today so no going out to the river as planned. Maybe I will get the wee cardy done as I had to pull back 2 inches of the second front last night. Grrr.
