Sounds like my weekend ha ha, Although this afternoon I ran away to the Bowling Club to see my friends and play Bingo. I left A at the Mall taking the three kids to the Movies, Did not feel guilty at all ha ha, Enjoyed my afternoon then came home and worked with A in the garden.

Good for you! LOL. I will enjoy what I have to do this weekend if we just get some sunshine, I am far more productive when the sun shines. And I'd like the pain in my hip to go away, too. Sigh. It's been a week for goodness sake.I am working steadily on the knitted blanket. 7 panels are now complete and sewn together, I am still not sure if I will stop at 9 although it will definitely be a good cot size. I could keep the price down for the customer then, too.

No sun, more rain... I. hasn't gone out racing so at least he can help with the groceries. LOL. The boys have found a new game on Utube which involves throwing water bottles and getting them to land upright or in weird places. Now there is one on my roof and one in a tree and one over next door. Not happy! Can you imaging how many bottles are going to lying around if this idea takes off like the 'planking' one did? LOL.

Yes it is still raining here. Yesterday we went to Rainbows End for J;s Birthday. He had one friend and just Family. Kids had an awesome day on all the rides. I carried back[packs everywhere, Did not risk any rides. We came home wet and exhausted, Still having problems logging in on my Ipad. I was going to get my son W to fix it but too slow. Hes gone again. Arrived in France this morning sigh, This Laptop is annoying ha ha. I finished the fingerless gloves and have got halfway through the matching hat. That is the only crafty thing I have done all week. I really must be more motivated this week ha ha.
I hope my grandchildren don't start that game ha ha.

I did very little knitting over the weekend and no sewing at all, so not much achieved in that way. I felt like I was on the go all the time but not where it counted. I certainly feel like it's an hour earlier this morning! And it's school holidays so I have to be at work before 8 every day for next 2 weeks. Hopefully will be finishing earlier most days but never seem to get much done by the time I drive home and organise tea.

It's going to be a stressful morning today. I have to address an issue with a staff member first thing that requires a warning. It was really serious and I'm so angry about it.Lots of phone calls to make after I had finished for the day then tossed and turned all night. Grrr! Back pain worse this morning because of it. I'm also going to have to extend the blanket by 3 panels to make sure it's a decent size for a cot.

grizzly4 - 2016-09-27 06:35:00
7557

Well I think the only thing I did for myself today was hoover and mop my floors tonight sigh. Finally caught up with the laundry after all the rain. I hate putting sheets through the drier. only had M8 and J5 today but had to go to gymnastics after all the chores, I cooked tea before I went because we did not get home until 5,30. Tomorrow will be the same with Karate.
I have seedlings to plant as well as plants but keep running out of time, I'm so tired by the time A gets home, S arrives home on Saturday so next week he can do all the running around and I can do my stuff ha ha.
You are right about not getting much done after tea. A leaves at 6,30 so I start early. Hope your poor back improves soon. Mine is ok. Touch Wood. I know how darn stressful it can be giving Warnings ugh. I certainly hope that went well.

And so we move on to the next drama.... Got a phone call once I was home for the evening that there was watercoming from the ceiling in the girl's toilet!!!! A staff member had allowed 3 older children up in the ceiling storage area earlier so it looks like they fiddled with something. It's so frustrating as I had said no children up there as we had no hot water for 2 days after the last time when they flicked the switch thinking it was for the light!! Once again I dread going in to work to see what's happened over night. I'm seriously beginning to hate my job.

grizzly4 - 2016-09-28 06:28:00
7559

Oh my stars what in the world was she or he letting them go up there for. dense or what? I would be dreading going in as well.
I am over the holidays already. grrrr So darn tired. I have no energy in reserves at the moment. 12 hour days are too hard . my get up and go has got up and gone. ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-09-28 23:10:00

I feel a bit better today. The overflow pipe from the hot water tank had been knocked out of the hole where it goes to the outside!!! It had been fine all night as no-one was there to run any water but it started flooding as soon as we were there in the morning. Only a 15 minute job for the plumber but I can guess what the minimum rates will be. Sigh.Worse still the boy who said he knocked it was my eldest grandson. LOL. At l;east I could get on with other work once it was sorted. I finished the 9th panel on the blanket and I'm leaving it there. I really need to do something different and it's a nice size to wrap baby and for pram etc. Almost big enough for a cot. To do 12 or even 16 panels would do cot with lots of tuck in but cost would be a bit much for customers I think. I'll see how this one goes at the shop.

Post a picture of the amazing blanket. I am still having trouble with my Ipad. I'm never letting my daughter T touch it again when she is tired, Naughty grandson ha ha. J 5 went down the paddock today after all the rain. Got stuck so hopped out of his gumboots, yanked them out and brought them halfway back up. I'm trying to wash my car and he is hollering for help sigh. I had to go down and rescue them. I hosed him and his gumboots to his delight then I had to take him inside and clean him up. I gave him a bath tonight and they have a huge spa bath but he informed me ' No bubbles allowed Nan because Maggie tipped a whole bottle of Bubblebath into the bath and when we turned the jets on it bubbled up and overflowed onto the tiles and Mum got really mad. So I'm being punished because I should not have let her' I had to grin ha ha. He then said ' Maybe she will feel better about bubbles at the weekend ' M8 should know better. A minute is all it takes to get up to mischief. Thank God its Friday tomorrow.

Agreed about being Friday at last. IT's been a long week but I've got heaps done at work despite the dramas. I'm going on the swimming trip with the programme today and I'm a bit worried about my hip with all the standing. IT's just starting to come right after 2 weeks. We have a house inspection on Monday so the weekend will be spent having a general tidy up outside after winter. Well mine will be as I. has speedway all day Saturday and I heard him making plans with son S. to take the bikes out on Sunday afternoon. Sigh. I need to take the backing off the curtains in the spare room as they have perished. Not our curtains these ones but I think it will be cheaper to replace the backing than buy new drapes of our own. Mmm... still thinking about it but in the mean time the existing backing looks terrible so it's going. I bought new drapes for our room last year from The Warehouse and the thermal backing is rubbish! Already starting to come off. It just goes to powder in the heat of the sun. When we get any, that is. LOL.

Blanket photo as requested. LOL. Could still with doing more panels I think but oh well...

I love that blanket pattern. Had it years ago but lost it. Very nice, I know what you mean about the backing grrr.
My daughter T and little K7 are in Christchurch visiting J22 who is doing the Air New Zealand Basic Engineering Course, They are having a great time. T said she could not believe the devastation still. Cried when she saw the Cathedral. Went to New Brighton and she said the poverty was very apparent. She said they don't show these photos on darn T V. It has given her great insight into what people are dealing with there. I visited my son K today and took him casseroles for his freezer. We had lunch and I was falling asleep. He gave me a strong coffee and told me to come home and rest lol. So I did. Tomorrow Ill be proactive.
Your landlord should be replacing those curtains. Not you.

makerealbany - 2016-10-01 22:57:00
7565

I know they should. There are a few things needing to be doing after we've been here nearly 7 years. I know they couldn't replace their oven because they had to replace ours this year and that made me feel bad. I'm worried if they find it too much for them they will sell.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-02 09:00:00
7566

Hey girl the fact that they told you that they had to replace your oven so they couldn't get one themselves is emotional blackmail. They are Landlords and it is their responsibility to replace things, I know I have been a Landlady and I claimed the costs back on my end of year returns, Nothing you do will impact on their decision to sell. If they want to they will .
My niece was in the same boat and was shocked when the Landlord sold the place. Lucky for her she had all her receipts for things she had purchased like curtains and even repairing the dishwasher. Tenancy Tribunal made them pay all the costs back. They worked themselves silly in the garden, etc, painting the shed, etc. It was awful when they moved in. My niece was even allowed to remove her plants and stuff in the garden. Landlord was enraged duh. My niece told all of the prospective buyers that the curtains were not included but they still had them down. Real Estate Agent ignored her ,
I hope for your sake they don't sell . Had an absolutely lazy day. All I've done is cook myself a Roast Meal. baked an Apple Pie and sown up two Beanies and the Fingerless Gloves.

makerealbany - 2016-10-02 19:18:00
7567

That's my sort of day. Good for you. I. will out most of next weekend so I'm thinking I might drag out the sewing machine and finish the dress I started last year, or was it the year before? LOL. If I sort that project once and for all I can start the white jacket I have wanted for so long. I can't settle to knit at present for some reason so fiddling around with dolls clothes. I may have something to do with not going in to shop on Mondays at present, that was a deadline I set myself to have something finished by.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-03 06:18:00
7568

Ive got the sewing bug as well ha ha. did some sewing on my quilt today notice I said my quilt ha ha. I too have ancient sewing projects to finish. S is home so have some time this week. Have to cook J5 his Birthday cake for Thursday tomorrow and after that I will be on my machine.

makerealbany - 2016-10-03 23:11:00
7569

I have a later start this morning as couldn't find another time to get my hair cut. Quite nice not having to rush and I can put the buttons on the doll's set I finished last night. I think I will keep going with doll's clothes this week and build a wee pile to take to shop on Monday. Inspection done yesterday and no feedback as usual, just a card left. I wonder if she picked up the things we need doing to let landlord know? I can't believe there was no note telling us to sort out that oil mark on the drive!

grizzly4 - 2016-10-04 06:41:00
7570

Well I did manage to cook the two cakes but that was it. I felt like my arms and legs were going to drop off. Just slept and dozed most of the day. I think I have been so busy this old bod decided it had done enough ha ha. did some sewing tonight though. The Property Manager is actually obliged to give you a copy of her report if you want it. She will have written one for the Landlord. talk about lack of communication.

makerealbany - 2016-10-04 23:03:00
7571

Communication - that's the bane of my life at present! LOL. Can't send emails on our computer at home, never hear from my daughter, hear too much from DIL, 2 staff aren't getting on at work and won't talk to each other about it and information that should be past on isn't happening. Good grief! I want to hibernate and knit dolls clothes. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-05 06:31:00
7572

Oh my stars. I did a few hours sewing today on my quilt. Then I found two teddy bear kits so knitted one up and I have started on the other one. So all in all a productive day. Its J"s Birthday tomorrow and he is so excited. We are going to Jump not that I will be jumping on trampolines ha ha,

makerealbany - 2016-10-05 22:02:00
7573

Gosh, I hope not! LOL. Went to the Court Theatre last night to see the play "The Streaker". Complimentary tickets were given to me by the bus company we use for our programme's trips.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-06 06:29:00
7574

This feels like a really long week. Now I find I. has changed his plans for tomorrow after I'm finally organised while he is out for the day. He has opted out of Speedway for tomorrow deciding to go to work in the morning instead. Grrr, now there will be no lie in for an extra couple of hours and family will be here in the afternoon so there goes my sewing plans. Apparently he decided all this Wednesday when he was off 'sick' and never thought to tell me. MEN!!!!!!
I'm working on a doll's hoody jacket at present in white and using a variegated yarn for stripes. Trouble is I have to get rid of the white parts of the variegation as it looks like I missed the stripe. LOL. What a waste of wool and lots of ends to sew in now.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-07 06:29:00
7575

I detest sewing in ends, had a great day for J6 and now I have J13 for the weekend, running again lol. No knitting tonight, Picked him up at the bus station at 8 tonight, Home for tea at 9 , Sorted out his bed and that is where I am going now ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-10-07 23:45:00
7576

Wee jacket is finished except for buttons. Might do a wee pair of bootees to match but the length of each colour in the yarn is a bit long to guarantee all colours will show in wee bootees.
I. has now decided to work this morning AND go out to the the practice at Speedway this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon he's out at Amberley watching the National ATV championship racing. So.......
I have a list of things to get done as long as family don't turn up for tea early in the afternoon.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-08 06:24:00
7577

Didn't do too badly yesterday.... caught up on housework, did a bit of Christmas shopping for stocking fillers, and all the end of month pay-outs for the shop. I started using the variegated wool for dolls bootees as mentioned but sure enough it took four very different bootees before colour cycle repeated. Took all afternoon to do 8 bootees with family here. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-09 07:30:00
7578

I'm surprised that you managed any at all ha ha. My grandson enjoyed his weekend with us. I took him to dinner at T"s last night after he had a fun time at the Matakana Markets with his Aunty A. W arrived to see me and bring me pressies after his last working jaunt around the world I was so happy to see him I forgot to ask him to fix my Ipad duh. S dropped more things that belong to my son G off so I spent the afternoon reshuffling my cottage, It looks like Steptoe owns the place ha ha. S told me hes off to Dubai on Tuesday for 10 days so tomorrow is the last day of my very short break.

makerealbany - 2016-10-09 23:42:00
7579

I'm dreading what it might end up costing tomorrow when the computer guy comes to fix our computer tomorrow. Yesterday was literally a wash out. Three loads of washing on the line and I went to do the grocery shopping, during which it thumped down. My coat was wet on the inside for the first time ever by the time I loaded and unloaded groceries and brought washing in to re-spin it before taking it to dryer in garage. Then I had to dry my coat and boots for work today.I. arrived home, you guessed it covered in mud, so I then had to soak and wash all of that! I was exhausted by the time we went to bed and I feel like I've worked all weekend. I have started a fairisle cardy in white baby merino with lilac and mint contrasts. A bit different to the usual baby shades I knit.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-10 06:25:00
7580

Well that was an awful day for you sigh. I managed to sew for two hours on my quilt thinking all the time " Why did I start Quilting" ha ha. Then we unloaded a trailer of mulch for the gardens. I went up to T's with the cabin curtains I had washed for her and spent two hours helping her out. The washing Machine Repairman has not been yet and its two weeks since her machine broke down. That's living in Auckland for you. We have a guy coming tomorrow to give us a quote for the new gate, Driveway is much wider now so old gate is too small, No knitting for me tonight lol.

makerealbany - 2016-10-10 23:28:00
7581

That's dreadful waiting that long without a washing machine! I couldn't bear it. Laundry is definitely my 'do everyday' job. LOL. I have the Computer guy coming this afternoon to sort this email problem so I'll be home early today. Yippee. I'm even going to make bacon and egg pie this morning before work so I only have to make a salad tonight. The wee cardy is going well. It's knitted in one to arm holes and I have one front fully done and on my way up the back now. I have brought some of my stock home from shop that has been sitting there too long. Will try my luck on TM with it for a couple of weeks then it might go on the fundraising sales table at work.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-11 06:40:00
7582

Did some more sewing and gardening today, I even got most of the sheets dry as well. duvets are on tomorrows list . Changing 5 beds is painful ha ha. I still cant get the colour paint I want for M8' Treasure Box. I want it a dark red. Ill search the sheds I might be able to mix up a colour. Christmas is on the way ugh. I have a Christmas Table Cover to sew as well. Need new glasses again because I cannot see to sew at night. That's how I know I need new glasses ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-10-11 22:52:00
7583

Remember I updated my glasses just a few months ago? I'm still struggling to see close up work like handsewing. Grr. Computer all sorted $312 later! We've changed our email server, upgraded to Windows 10, to get rid of some virus deeply inbedded in our Windows 7 and changed our internet protection as what was on their obviously wasn't working. The technician worked on it for 2 hours here then took it back to his office to do the downloads while he could do other stuff as well. Delivered it back at 9am last night. Half the cost was 2 years protection, so not bad really.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-12 07:00:00
7584

OMG, I am so tired! Everything seems never ending at present and work is mounting up already in what's going to be a really busy term. My housework isn't making a difference and there's not enough time to get out in the garden. Sigh. We are off to Blenheim tomorrow morning to see Mum and Dad for a couple of days. I guess by having to bring the trip forward a week I get 3 days at home next weekend. Can't wait. I'm part way up the second sleeve on the cardy so at least I will have something to put in shop on Monday. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-13 06:42:00
7585

Yay, week over! I've packed comfy slippers and a good book and my knitting will go by our bag when I go to bed tonight. LOL. I'm taking some clothing catalogues to show Mum and see if she'd like something new for summer. Have a good weekend! I'll be back Sunday afternoon (all going well with I.'s car this time) LOL.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-13 20:10:00
7586

Hope you are having a great time with your Mum and Dad. Court case over yippee. I was so stressed yesterday began ripping weeds out and I do mean ripping ha ha, I put together some materials for another quilt so that is three on the go at once ha ha, No luck with the paint yet grrr. I saw this idea of a Vintage Quilt and though to myself that I have lots of Doilies that are have a mark, etc so I can repurpose them and use up some of my laces. Maybe now with all of the Court cases over and done with my family can get on with life. Its been a hell of a few years. Lawyers did well out of us sigh. I can finally start looking for my new car yippee,

makerealbany - 2016-10-13 20:12:00
7587

That's great news. I hope it's all sorted for you now. Yes, thank you I did have a lovely relaxing weekend. And I's car seems all sorted now and went like a dream, thank goodness. Now it's back to the grindstone for a week before the long weekend. We are one senior staff member down for the next month and I will be having to help fill the gaps during that time.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-17 06:28:00
7588

Just worked on a quilt today. Had a really relaxing day thank heavens. Got a busy day tomorrow. My son asked me what kind of car I want and I'm humming and haaaa ing ha ha. I just need to have a good think about it. It will most likely be the last one I buy so I want either a brand new one or one that's not very old. Going for a haircut after I drop the kids at school. I'll pop in to the Supermarket and come home. I have pots to replant but it was too cold and windy today.

makerealbany - 2016-10-17 20:57:00
7589

Yep it's really windy here, too and warmer outside than in. I never know what I need to wear each day at present. I am working on wee knitted things at present like bootees, socks etc to use up the contrast colours from the cardy. Nightmare day at work yesterday with staff not getting on, heaters being left on over weekend!!!!! and having to be reminded about other commonsense stuff. Honestly, I don't know which is harder, managing children or adults!

grizzly4 - 2016-10-18 06:45:00
7590

I know exactly what you mean ha ha grrrrr. I spent hours hand sewing on a Quilt I'll send you a picture tomorrow. This is going to take forever ha ha. I didn't get my haircut because I had to dash home to supervise the man who erected the kids new trampoline. He was supposed to come tomorrow dah. Well that's another job done. I don't know if I can be bothered going down town tomorrow. One day is enough ha ha.

makerealbany - 2016-10-18 23:37:00
7591

Can't wait to see the photo! I worked late last night after an early start so didn't get much knitting done yesterday. Just too tired. Another early start this morning with the Women's Group to prepare for. The activity today is collage work on papier mache mannequins that I found in Lincraft. I have looked everywhere for the lovely decoupage paper you used to be able to get in Spotlight but no one has these days. Another lost craft idea it seems. I even went into Spotlight yesterday for the first time since the earthquakes. Upstairs in the craft section it looks so run down with shocking flooring taped together etc. I was quite surprised about the difference in the variety of stock compared to Lincraft after all these years but can't say the service has improved one bit. She was a sour old biddy that served me. I was buying dacron cushion filling for one of the children's programmes, can also only get that at Spotlight now. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-19 06:49:00
7592

Not feeling up to much at all today. Sewed on a few flowers of my quilt and that was it. Blood tests results show my haemagloben has dropped drastically so more darn tests Grrr. Really unmotivated so I'm off to bed.

makerealbany - 2016-10-19 22:34:00
7593

I hope you are feeling better today, makerealbany. How do get it back up to normal again? What causes it to drop in the first place? Today won't be so rushed for me hopefully although I have 2 difficult meetings with staff to get through.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-20 06:40:00
7594

I'm off for another early start this morning. Sigh. I'm speaking to the Parent's Group at the local school about the mental and social well being of women and of intermediate age children approaching high school. Apparently my blanket has sold in the shop and they are wanting more. I won't be able to keep up that pace I'm afraid. I'm working on wee socks and bootees still. This rain better ease off before I leave this morning as I will park at work and walk over. It's really pouring right now.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-21 06:48:00
7595

The weather was ok here, Bit windy but fine. Don't know why level dropped hence the tests. When I was 30 it did the same thing but then I had a hysterectomy and then I was ok so cant solve it that way ha ha. My saturation levels are lousy. I'm working on the flower quilt which is so time consuming, I have knitted the body for K7s Bear and am now on the head, I have not sewn M8s Bear up yet, these were meant to be for some one else but the little spies saw them and claimed them for Xmas before they are even finished ha ha, I need to be more secretive mmmm. How did your school trip talk go?,

makerealbany - 2016-10-22 00:22:00
7596

A great day in the garden. finally feel like progress is being made. I have more to do today and all the pots that were stuffed in the hidden garden need repotting . Christmas lillies all growing well in them. Had to move branches to get to them. No crafting last night, Too tired from the garden ha ha, Its another beautiful day so hope the wind stays away.

makerealbany - 2016-10-23 08:50:00
7597

Went with I. to the National ATV Racing out at Amberley yesterday, took son S and L9 with us. It was a good day out in the sun. WE came home mid afternoon as I. had the opening night at Speedway last night as well. I watched the final of the Pottery on tv then put the Burlesque DVD on. Lovely evening with great music. We are cleaning gutters and catching up on laundry today in a cold nor'easterly wind.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-23 10:31:00
7598

WE worked hard yesterday morning then I ended up with a headache after lunch so took some pain relief and sat down for 10 minutes till they worked. TWO HOURS later I woke up still with a headache, though. Lasted till 9pm. What a waste of an afternoon. Today we are cleaning the garage and I have some cooking to do for the week.

grizzly4 - 2016-10-24 09:39:00
7599

Must be headache time all around. I have had one all day. Can't shift it no matter what I do sigh. Did some stuff in the garden. Went to my daughters for tea. K7 was screaming around and I thought my head would explode. Came home and I've still got it. Trying to finish knitting the head for the bear but think I'll go to bed. I enjoy the singing in Burlesque.

makerealbany - 2016-10-24 21:34:00

I hope you are feeling better today. I worked in the kitchen most of yesterday and then went over to the shop to pick up some book work. Sigh. Not the laziest Labour Day I could have had. I'm already please it's going to be a short week. LOL. 2 late nights unfortunately, shop meeting Thursday night and Friday night we are planning a Fancy Dress Party for all the children on the programme as an alternative to Trick or Treating. Hopefully it's a bit of a fundraiser as well.
I have been knitting wee socks etc but can't really make up my mind what my next project will be.
