I did M's cookies and the cake. This afternoon K6 rings and orders his Cookies. I have just iced them . Only did about 20 rows of knitting tonight. Omg Funding Applications before Chrustmas grrrr. That's it bed for me now

It's not the applications I mind it's getting the quotes in from bus companies! We have 3 programmes that are outings based so the transport costs are huge. Silly me thought they knew the quotes were essential to using their business in the future and of course I know they are really busy at this time of the year! Aren't we all? And is it my fault these are the funding dates I have to work with? Sigh. Venting over. LOL.
Off to the end of year lunch with the Women's Group today so that will be a few laughs and won't see them again till beginning of February.
I actually sewed up the cardy last night but starting the bands was too high an expectation. LOL. Maybe tonight. I'm looking forward to the 'Adele" programme on tv tonight. Hope I stay awake.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-09 06:59:00
7053

Didn't even know Adele was on. Shows you how aware of TV I am lol. A told me M7 was getting a sewing machine for Christmas and her Birthday so I am sorting out material for her first projects on her own machine. Fancy that I had to share Mums with my sisters when I was that age . We had a singer treadle ha ha. Went to J5s Graduation today. He is so shy with other people I really felt for him. He's finished for the year and is happy and sad about it.
I have had a toothache all day but am trying to ignore it. Not successfully I might add ha ha. Going to the GP tomorrow for my check up. I have been ok but need regular tests Grrr. My knitting is winking at me ha ha. I'm too tired to pick it up sigh. Maybe tomorrow .

makerealbany - 2015-12-09 22:53:00
7054

That's not good about the toothache. It might pay to get that sorted before all the dentists go on holiday! Worst time of year for that sort of stuff. We had a nice time at lunch yesterday although had to get an ambulance to check out one of our ladies. She is diabetic and took a turn, she's fine and actually made her own way home despute my offer of a ride. Sigh. I finished the cardy last night so I'm at that moment of anicipating what to do next. LOL.

OMG everyday seems to get that much busier again! I am over other people's dramas, people not doing their job properly or making one off mistakes at the worst times. They all seem to be caught up in their own wee worlds and not listening! And the driving on the roads!!!! Really scary at present. The road works are horrendous around work and the shop at present and has been since August due to finally repairing major water pipes. Trouble is it's a main thoroughfare. Combine that with stressed people and it's getting down right dangerous. I'm getting pretty stroppy, too, I have to say. LOL. I stood up to a woman who accused me of stealing her park the other day. She had already gone past the car coming out, was indicating in completely the wrong direction and there was no way she could reverse with the amount of cars backed up behind her. You would have been proud of me calmly pointing out the facts and walking away. ( Hoping I wouldn't run into her while we were in the mall).
Yesterday I was having a meeting with a co-worker at the programme that's closing next week. The School caretaker interrupted our meeting bringing the Manager of the organisation that the school has chosen to provide the service in the future. The Manager never acknowledged either of us and they assumed they had free rein to look through the room. Ah No! Once more stuck up for us and pointed out that we were in the middle of a meeting and they could have access to the room next Thursday after we had cleared our stuff out. So unfair on the programme staff who have put their best into this programme to be treated like this.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-11 07:06:00
7056

What a cheek. It is unfair on the programme staff. I know what you mean about stressed people grr. My daughter T has had ACC on her back after a week Grrr. They had a meeting today and her boss told them off. They wanted her to work 3 full days. Boss told them they need her 5 days and her Doctor protested at that. No one will he increase her hours from 4 a day. Boss told ACC rep that her certificate clearly states that ha ha. Honestly some people. I guess that with her Boss having to fill in for T she knows how busy it is and has a better understanding of the role now ha ha.
I went to Bingo this afternoon and won the huge ham. I'm delighted. I made up all my Cookie packages for my friends and handed them out. What with all the children's orders I had baked 3 lots of 3 dozen Cookies. Over that now ha ha. I'm back to knitting my top. So slow 4 ply and I like them long. I'm going to try and get it finished ha ha.

makerealbany - 2015-12-11 19:25:00
7057

All the stress T is going through at work won't be helping her pain levels either. While they are fighting about the work stuff who is actually looking at how to fix her back? Well done winning that ham, good for you! I ended up at home yesterday with some sort of tummy bug. Bad enough to keep me at home but not bad enough that I could still finish the GST stuff I had at home with me. Probably good thing I wasn't there yesterday as I was getting pretty wound up by a couple of staff the day before. I have some difficult conversations to have next week. It was good to have some time to think beforehand. I am working on dolls clothes again at present but have bought 3 new patterns from TM lately to try out.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-12 06:42:00
7058

T is suffering from Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and the injury was because her GP put the steroid injection into her Median Nerve by mistake. She has been to Nerve Clinic. At lest three months before surgery. I'm still on my top sigh . Ha ha. Bought some more sock wool. Not to make socks but for a blanket. I have been browsing the patterns as well lol.

makerealbany - 2015-12-12 23:49:00
7059

Why did I think it was her back? What a dreadful thing for the GP to do!

We made the decision today to say goodbye to Jinx, our ginger cat. She is 17 and no-one has been able to say specifically what is wrong with her. However we have been nursing her this time for a week and she hasn't shown any improvement and appears to be in more pain than usual. Time to let her go. When we were at the vet's we were holding her while they gave the medication and just as we felt her pass on there was a enormous clap of thunder and a huge hail storm began. The heavens literally opened for her. Brings a smile on a sad day doesn't it?

grizzly4 - 2015-12-13 17:02:00
7061

It sure does. It is sad to let a pet go but it is the best thing for them when they are in pain. 17 is a great age. Jed must be close to that now. He's fine. Only been to the vet for shots. T my granddaughters Moodle went for a sleepover at my sons as she was home from Wellington for the weekend. Did he howl when she left him today lol. He's 11 . P my foxy is 13. You don't realise until you count the years lol A said to me one day" Mum we've been here 11 years now" . I can't get over that. Looked after K6 this morning at his house and managed to break one of his Fossils. It was in a stand I moved and it fell out. I was really upset. K told me " Nana it's ok it was an accident and it would not have fallen out if I had put it in right. " Bless him. Then he gave me a cuddle. T says she'll replace it. I offered to pay for it but she won't have it. I have bought him some is fossils for Christmas and the other day I got him an Elistial Chrystal which is very cool. Came home and had a nap for 3 hours ha ha. Had tea and worked in the garden until 9 Darkness crept up on me. I have knitted some more of my top. I think it unknits itself when I'm asleep ha ha.

makerealbany - 2015-12-13 23:42:00
7062

I'm realising this morning how much time I spent sorting out specific food for Jinx, checking how much she had, checking where she was, cleaning up after her. This morning I'm a bit lost. The white girls have stuck together since yesterday so although they weren't that close to Jinx, they are missing her too, I think. They are 17 this month, too, but are looking great, thank goodness.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-14 06:47:00
7063

Yes it is time consuming owning pets. Teddy is due or a bath but I'm not doing that until those workmen leave tomorrow. They have all the manholes in and the machines are gone. Fence panel is put back but they forgot o put the gate post in so we can leave the gate open to drive through. Dingbats ha ha. They have to put concrete down and clean the outside of the water tank. They will have a concrete truck that will pour concrete down the old pipes that run under my cottage to seal them. Fun and games. Worked outside today . Busy day. I'm up to my sleeves on my top. Worked in one piece.

makerealbany - 2015-12-14 23:09:00
7064

Well done on your top! My head wasn't in the game at all yesterday. I enjoyed the shop 'cos I had lots to do and the road works are gone from outside and there were enough customers to keep it all humming along. By the time I got to work it was all on! People not turning up, my plans went out the window as I had go on the trip etc, etc. Kids were great though as usual. There was 60 of us all up watching The Good Dinosaur. Great children's movie. Today is going to be a long day.... have to catch up from yesterday and it's the last day of the programmes so all the last minute stuff to do that parents have forgotten they need. I have to be at the programme that is closing for good to help move the large items while we have a van like the big couch and the fridge/freezer. Tomorrow we will clear all the small stuff back to our main site. I'm exhausted just thinking about it and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Of course. LOL.
I was able to remove the heavy ornament we have had to sit on top of the kitchen tidy bin because Jinx always got in there. There was never any food scraps but she always had to check just in case. Imagine how easy it is for us to use the bin now without manhandling the thing off the top first. Years we've been doing that!!!! LOL. She was a shocker for getting up on the bench as well, nothing was safe. I remember making my lunch once and it disappeared before I could get it safely into a plastic box just because I turned away for a minute. But it was still awful coming home yesterday and she wasn't running out to meet us like she always did.

I still miss Paws my eldest son's cat I had inherited. He was always bunting me in the legs for food. He was so huge. When he died old Jed was lost for awhile. Even though Jinx was naughty you will miss her. It's always horrendous before Christmas with everything t be finalised. Must admit I don't miss working at Christmas. It was havoc and mayhem lol.
Went up to T's and cleaned out her cupboards for her. I brought K6 home for the night. I'll take him up to school in the morning and bring him back after Prizegiving. Told T to go and do some Christmas shopping. What with Work, her injury and all the nonsense from ACC she hasn't been able to do any shopping. Someone from ACC rings her every day. It's like harassment . They expect her injury to disappear overnight I suppose. When she told her GP about it all he couldn't believe it. Told her to tell them to ring him ha ha.
I tried an No Bake Citrus Slice tonight from Just A Mums webpage. Yummy.
Well must go to bed, early start ha ha.

makerealbany - 2015-12-15 23:37:00
7066

I must have a look at that web site. Sounds good. We got the big stuff out of the programme that's closing and everything else is packed in boxes ready to go this morning despite the pouring rain! With five cars involved it shouldn't take long hopefully then I can leave them to organise everything on our main site. I am looking forward to having all staff based in one place from now on. The new programme is off site still but only over the road and the supervisor will use our main building as her base and just go across the road before programme starts. I have a meeting this afternoon at a cafe in a historic building that has been closed since the earthquakes. I had no idea it had re-opened so I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks. I am currently knitting a sleeveless hoody jacket in bright green and white stripes with orange dinosaurs on the fronts. Only doing a 12 month size no not taking too long (fingers crossed). LOL.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-16 06:52:00
7067

Boy, it was full on moving stuff yesterday but 7 car loads later all done by lunch time. We celebrated by going out for a coffee. LOL. Now it's up to the programme supervisors to decide what to keep and how to store the rest, I organised the office to make room for a third desk. I felt like I had muscles on muscles last night LOL but seem ok this morning thank goodness. I'm not getting much knitting done this week at all. Still on first front.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-17 06:54:00
7068

Well I had such a busy day yesterday driving K to school, driving back , minding J ,driving up to K's Prize Giving. He got an award for Excellence in Literacy and Mathmatics. He was shy about going up in front of the whole School lol but he did it last year without a blink. He's in year one but working at a year 8 level. Loves school. Talked to two sisters last night for 3 hours so that was my night gone ha ha. Nice though. Then went on Raverly looking at patterns and my IPad went flat .

makerealbany - 2015-12-17 08:00:00
7069

Yesterday went to schedule thank goodness till I got a call at teatime from a staff member saying they aren't going to be available for holiday programme in January after all. Grrrr! Legitimate reason but now I have to do the rosters again. Have to be out of our building from 2pm today as having the place treated for Borah so cuts short what I can achieve today, I guess and really want to catch up with a friend this morning who has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Just not enough hours in the day! Jinx's ashes came home last night thank goodness so now we can start looking for just the right container. I even managed to do the whole of the 2nd front last night, on the sleeveless hoody. Yippee.

What a day of unwinding. Lovely afternoon with my friends. Got K here so his Mum can do more shopping tomorrow morning. We have a family day here tomorrow. Sil flys out on Monday. He won't be home fir Christmas. I have to pick up J13 tomorrow and get back to help out.
I've come to the conclusion that I would not like your job ha ha. There's always some thing going on. It's like you take two steps forward and three back every holidays. It would drive me nuts. Well nuttier than I am ha ha. I do feel for you.
I hope you got to see your friend today .

makerealbany - 2015-12-18 23:27:00
7071

Yes I did get to see my friend. Took her flowers and a coffee. LOL. Had a great catch up. You are so right about my job but I guess managing staff would be the same anywhere, I wouldn't change where I work for anything. It will be my 25th anniversary there next March. Which will give me a bonus weeks leave to add to the rest I haven't taken LOL. WE did lots of Christmas shopping last night finally. I can't believe this time next week it will be all over and I'll be on my way up to Blenheim to see Mum and Dad. Not much Christmas build up for this year for us, it feels.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-19 10:49:00
7072

More Christmas shopping done yesterday and a lovely lunch out with I. but were affected by the Westpac debacle declining cards all over the place.
Son S, DIL S,B10 and L8 came with us to tour the Christmas lights last night. Great fun but a very late night! Today is going to be busy with tea to put in slow cooker for tomorrow night, a pudding to make for tonights dinner at friends, plus the general housework and gardening to get on top of before Christmas Eve when everyone comes here for dinner. NOt sure if the dinosaur jacket will be finished for tomorrow after all. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-20 10:52:00
7073

We had an early Christmas dinner yesterday. What a lovely fun filled day the kids had. Opened pressies and Ran amuck ha ha. I was so tired after it all I fell asleep in my chair ha ha. Today we cleaned up. Tonight we went to watch the latest Star Wars movie, came home and ate left overs. No knitting sigh.

makerealbany - 2015-12-20 23:49:00
7074

Jacket is definitely not finished. LOL. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. What are your plans for Christmas Day? Ours are still a bit messy and people keeps changing details on a daily basis. Sigh. My day today includes the shop this morning, redoing the holiday programme staff roster this afternoon and groceries this evening. Maybe some knitting after that?

grizzly4 - 2015-12-21 06:23:00
7075

Last day at work today. The 5 senior staff are going out for a working lunch where we do our end of year evaluation of our services. Then I get to come home till 14 January. The trick will be not to be able to walk away and not worry about what I have forgotten to do. LOL. 36 degrees here yesterday and still very warm inside even though it's raining outside today.Weird weather.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-22 06:30:00
7076

My grandson K 23 rang tonight from Christchurch. Told me how hot it had been but said he was cold tonight. He's most likely getting sick . We moved furniture again today . Darn tiring. For some reason my family are ringing nearly every night and talking fir ages ha ha. It must be Christmad. I took J to the bus stop today laden with pressies. Then went back to moving . It's such a busy week and tomorrow is only Wednesday lol. I'm getting my hair done tomorrow night at 6 no matter what happens lol. I still have a present to buy. We are going to T for lunch on Christmas Day. Going to be very laid back and quiet ha ha. Not with 4 children screaming around.

makerealbany - 2015-12-22 22:20:00
7077

Nope, K was right. It was very cold from lunch time yesterday. We came out of the Restaurant and it was pouring! By evening I was looking for slippers and a blanket for over my legs. Crazy weather.
I am officially on holiday! Yippee. If it wasn't for the Christmas dramas! Daughter S had a big rant by txt last night about how I always put DIL first. Really? She is really stressed about not having B7 Christmas morning this year but taking it out on me is a bit off. Oh well, hopefully I will find enough to do round here today not to dwell on it. I keep getting headaches that start up the back of my neck and I really don't need one over the next few days. When I started getting them 6 months ago a couple of pain killers would stop it within minutes. Sundays one lasted all day regardless of what I took. Sigh. Wee jacket is finished but I won't be in shop till 11/1 now. LOL. Time to do a few more things to take in all at once. Working on an old retro style matinee jacket that's very sweet. Did a whole sleeve last night. Today I need to sort out the last presents, defrost meat for Christmas Dinner tomorrow night for 9 of us, (8 if daughter S doesn't show up), and maybe just tidy the front garden after the wild weather. Then maybe some more knitting watching that Tipping Point games programme on TV in the afternoon. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-23 07:23:00
7078

Doh naughty S. I've had two raving daughters at different times this week. Tis the season ha ha. Another run around day but I got my hair done tonight. Yippee. Didn't like the shoulders of my red top so I undid it to the sleeves and am reknitting ha ha. I got my first Gradient Artisian Wool from Secret Santa in the Lux Lotto. So thrilled about that. Need to work out what to knit with this special wool.

makerealbany - 2015-12-23 23:36:00
7079

That sounds exciting. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with. All go today towards dinner tonight. Sounds like S is coming and I have ensured everything except the gravy is gluten free: easy enough with roast meat and vege and salad and pav and fruit salad. LOL. Hopefully she has something she can bring for her gravy. I. has finished work, too so it's all hands on deck to tidy house, lawns and front garden for that all important first impression. LOL. The furry girls are getting their new litter box and their wee bags of treats today so they aren't left out.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-24 09:26:00

Merry Christmas my friend . It's all pressies and screams of delight here. Have an awesome day. I'm starting to run now ho ho.

makerealbany - 2015-12-25 08:28:00
7081

Merry Christmas to you as well. Never got a chance to go online yesterday. Brilliant day with family yesterday. Absolute chaos though. Off to Blenheim for a quieter couple of days with Mum and Dad.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-26 06:56:00
7082

Enjoy your visit and travel safe .

makerealbany - 2015-12-26 23:28:00
7083

Home again, safe and sound, thank goodness. My goodness there's some bad driving on the roads! It winds I. up something chronic which is even worse. Much more relaxing when I drive, LOL. Luckily we share the driving.
It was great seeing Mum and Dad. Dad seemed to be having a good spell, standing much straighter and his balance was much better so he was up on his feet a lot more for short spells. Mum has now been diagnosed with a severe heart condition and is on stroke preventer drugs. This is completely out of the blue as regardless of her other conditions the specialists etc have kept saying her heart is amazing for her age. And now apparently it's not. Very upsetting for all of us. I'm terrified every time we leave recently that it will be the last time I see one of them. I hate them not being in the same city.
I am on holiday now till the 14/1 so hopefully lots of hobbies, gardening and reading gets done. Mind you I still have to do the end of month stuff for the shop before it re-opens on the 5th. LOL. No rest for the wicked.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-29 10:41:00
7084

Yes there are really impatient drivers around. I have just avoided two crashes in the past week. Both on the Motorway and idiots driving too close in heavy traffic . It's like a sixth sense telling me to slow down even more than bang . I'm a nervous wreck by the time I get home sigh. Today K6 and I went to visit my son and the raids were so quiet. Lovely ha ha. That is sad about your Mum. Great that your Dad is doing ok though. It's hard living far away from your parents.
I finally finished my red top but have to block it now. Another time ha ha. I started a little pink matinee jacket for a baby. So tiny ha ha.

makerealbany - 2015-12-29 22:52:00
7085

Another baby on the way? I'm still working on a pink matinee set, too. LOL. It's a really old retro pattern that I haven't seen before, really enjoying doing something different. Visited son and his family yesterday but didn't stay long, no one very happy in that house. LOL. Son brassed off because DIL went out partying with her family a couple of nights before - I think its more that she is so inconsiderate when she gets home at 3am and he is due to start work at 5 and of course she's very unwell the next day so it's no fun for the boys. The boys are just tired out from all the Christmas stuff and need a couple of quiet days. My job for today is to dead head roses. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-30 09:28:00
7086

Ha ha Baby outfit for a Single Mum who is starting life again without her ex. Got some more baby clothes from our clean outs for her. Every time we clean a cupboard out at my daughters we find more hidden treasures lol. I found blankets I had knitted today and linen. K6 is loving his quiet time with me as his house still is very busy. He's staying with me until New Years Day. He's no trouble and easy going. The dogs are following him everywhere ha ha. They miss M7 and J5.
Omg what a time to get home and yes very inconsiderate. Poor hubby must have felt tired at work. Feel sorry for the boys too.
I did my roses the other day. Slowly weeding my garden. Haven't touched 2 gardens as they will be taken out in February with all the earthworks. I will save my best plants from there and all the bulbs. White Christmas Lillies are beautiful. My orange Asiatics were lovely but the pink and yellow were pathetic. Red hasn't flowered yet. Vegas slow as well. My feet are like balloons with the heat. I washed 4 sleeping bags and all the packs for camping today as well as 3 feather Duvets. Lovely drying weather.

makerealbany - 2015-12-30 23:54:00
7087

Weather has been disappointing since we got home. Mind you I have a few blisters from the sunburn I received on Christmas day. They popped this morning which hasn't been pleasant since. LOL. My orange asiatics were the best, too. A couple of other bulbs I bought last year are up but never flowered, I think it's too cool where I put them. Sigh.
I finished the wee jacket yesterday and a matching hat last night. On to boottees now. Going to BBQ at daughter's tonight but doubt if we will last to see the new year in. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2015-12-31 10:00:00
7088

We did come home by 9.30 last night but settled in to watch a Phil Collins music DVD, it was 2016 before we knew it! Happy New Year!!! The aim is to dead head the last couple of roses and take the green waste to the dump today. Might have a quiet day away from the shops today (maybe), we've spent a fortune since Christmas, ordering a new mattress for our bed and a new coffee table. LOL. One bootee done, one to go. If we do stay home today I may get out the cross stitch that I haven't picked up in a couple of years!

grizzly4 - 2016-01-01 10:43:00
7089

I knitted and saw the New Year in by myself. K6 had been asleep for hours lol. Had a busy morning then took K home. Went to Bingo and won the meat pack raffle again . Came home and I started a Touch Merino scarf. Very easy pattern called One Row Lace Scarf. It's reversible. Then had some tea and thought I would wind two Hank's of dyed Corrigale wool I bought. What a fiasco couldn't find the end as it wasn't tied with a spare bit of wool so I'm very annoyed and am still sorting it out. It's taking ages grrrrr.

makerealbany - 2016-01-01 23:54:00
7090

I hate that happening with hanks of wool! I avoid buying wool in hanks these days because of past battles. 2nd bootee nearly finished, couldn't quite stay awake enough to do the last 2 rows. LOL. Went through a box of old photos yesterday for fun, I've left it out for family browsing when they visit.

grizzly4 - 2016-01-02 10:18:00
7091

It did annoy me no end. The second Hank was better. Then I did a Touch Yarn one and it was perfect. Wound some cotton this morning. A and the children arrived home today all excited to tell me that f their adventures lol. I had tea with them tonight and then the kids out on a show ha ha. They love performing. I'm halfway thru this scarf. Very easy and the Touch Wool is fab to knit. My hands feel so soft ha ha. This is a Birthday Present. I'm getting an early start ha ha. Everyone gets something made by me this year. I have to diminish my stashes ha ha and not my bank account. We can spend ages looking at photos. Very emotional in our family though with the losses we have had.

makerealbany - 2016-01-02 21:59:00
7092

HOpefully there are still some good memories in those photos. You're good planning birthdays already. S's new partner and his daughter are our first in January and February but only doing small things for them as it is still so new. B is 11 in March and I. turns 60! S has suggested we pitch in for hot laps in a V8 Supercar for him. LOL. Of course he loves that idea.
You have had some dreadful weather over the New Year! We have had steady rain over the past 2 days and, of course, they were the days we had planned to go out on the bikes as the only 2 days son S isn't working.
DIL and I worked on our adult colouring in books yesterday LOL. I have finished the matinees set and have started another fairisle cardy.

grizzly4 - 2016-01-03 10:06:00
7093

Nearly finished this scarf. It's so soft. Have you tried steam blocking. Thought I might try it with this scarf. I haven't blocked my red top yet or the matinee jacket. I'm eager to knit the 2ply scarf in thus lace pattern. Just packed away all my Christmas decorations today. Three boxes full. Takes awhile to wrap them all up, etc. Each year I buy one new decoration on special ha ha. By the time I had polished all the furniture and put the extra candles, etc away I was exhausted. Had a Nana nap.

makerealbany - 2016-01-03 22:18:00

Lol. We did all our decorations on Friday. Faster putting them away than putting them up, I have to say. I felt a bit sad putting them away this year for some reason. It felt like a winter's weekend not like our summer holiday! Refused to put a heater on but sat knitting with slippers on and blanket over my legs. LOL. Just like a nana would. This wee cardy is knitting up fast with doing fronts and back all in one to armholes. Finished one front completely and nearly at top of back now. There's a cleaning bee at shop this morning hence the slightly earlier start for me. I've done all the end of month cheques already over last couple of days so can't really be bothered doing a clean up as well. Sigh. At least the sun is shining today if a bit chilly. Not that we will out on the bikes yet. Missed the days off when son not working because of weather but now DIL's bike is in bits because there is a mechanical problem.

No chilly wind was going to stop them!! LOL. We had picnic lunch at the skate park then across the road to the beach for a swim for the boys and DIL. Brrrr. Then down to a pool beside the beach before ice creams all round. Once we had B7 back at home I. helped him complete the Lego Darth Vader we bought him for Christmas. He was a very happy boy by the time his Mum picked him up at 5. LOL. And we had a nap before tea. LOL. Stayed up till after midnight watching a Bee Gees DVD. Reliving our disco days, I guess.
Definitely going to be a bit quieter today, I think.

A. And my son went to the house w e sold and brought the last lot of furniture home today whilst I had the three grandchildren. I'm so glad that's all finished now. Lol. My cottage is once again like a second hand shop sigh. Ah well I'll take it slow sorting out things. As long as I can walk through without hooking myself up or bumping into things it's ok. I even have stuff on my deck. Knitting a lace baby blanket for daughters ward. Just felt like it ha ha. I want to knit a shawl but need to sort out what lace wool I want to use. I have bought some lovely wool on the Facebook Detashers Page. I have been lucky and got quite a few bargains. Yes I have been supplementing my youngest son's budget by buying him groceries as well. Parenthood never goes on holiday. J5 is into Lego Nanjango. He was given a Huge Darth Vader for Christmas. He's about 3 feet tall. He has him standing in his room guarding his Collection of Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, etc. They talk to each other. When he opens not her Lego Bix I run ha ha. A has to sit with him and build it. M8 and K6 were experimenting today with Chrystals and Coral, etc. A fun day for the kids.

Lots of fun! B7 got that big Darth Vader, too, I think, from his Dad.I sympathise with all the furniture being stored in your house. We managed to clear out the garage except for the 3 bikes we use, the trailer and my old quad which is being worked on to sell. Now we have the boys bike wee quad back as it doesn't fit on son's new trailer or in his wagon and DIL's quad is in pieces waiting for parts. We went all the way to Ashburton yesterday to pick up a part which turned out to be the wrong one. Came back empty handed after an hours drive each way. Had a lovely lunch down there, though. LOL. Finished the fairisle cardy last night whilwe watched DVDs till 12.30am. Just need to get buttons now. We are off out on the bikes today at last. It's been a month at least since we were out at the river. Fingers crossed there are no dramas today.
