google sounds like 1958 Queen Elizabeth overprints. 1941 King George overprint. The dealers on here would be of more help, I just collect. To me unless there is something special, or flawed in the stamp, they have no value. Check these stamps for sale on TM .

Sad week for Christchurch Philately. Well Known (throughout New Zealand) Christchurch philatelist John Wilson died on Tuesday evening in Hospital. John was a great promoter of the Christchurch Philatelic Society and certainly recruited more members for the Society than anybody else. He was also a keen member of the Philatelic Foundation in Christchurch, helping organise all of their stamp auctions. He was a Life member of The Society and will be missed by many.

Make sure you use Blenheim Road or Picton Avenue to access it because the Riccarton road entrance is currently completely blocked off by roadworks.

Many will remember the rare 1857 "City mail for Tiflis" stamp (Tbilisi - Georgia - Caucasus - Russia) discovered in a NZ collection purchased by Robin Gwynn:

www.stuff.co.nz/national/101263704/the-kiwi-the-rare-russian
-stamp-and-the-experts-who-tried-to-fool-him

Here is a further site with a lot more history on the early Russian & Caucasus postal system & this stamp - which appears to be both the first Georgian & first Russian Stamp issued:

I hear that NZ Post is no longer cancelling stamps by machine, so there will be fewer genuine postally-used stamps in the future. Does this mean that the value of used stamps will attract higher prices in the future?

NZ Post are now saying that the stopping of cancelling stamps was a trial and they have decided to recommence the cancelling of stamps and postage as from 8th October 2018. Previous correspondence from NZ Post did not say it was a trial, but we should give them kudos for listening to the feedback from their customers.

I'll be there for sure with a great range of interesting collections just to hand. Had a great time in Invercargill last weekend and pick up a few collections there and on the way back.

Mandeville Street is a great venue.

there isn't a lot of difference in stamp pricing between the two - Len Jury & ACS in their simplified glossy catalogues IMO

They don't seem to bother postmarking the non-standard letters, nor the parcels which makes sense. mail which gets machine sorted because it is normal envelope size gets postmarked because it goes thru the CFC machines and it doesn't take any human involvement to cancel them.
