I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post
6851

thanks everyone, Deanna, nice to see you posting here :) I mixed the buttons up as the green buttons looked lost on the jacket and pink just looked wrong.

It's not until things go to custard when we see who our friends really are kuaka. Am glad someone is looking out for you, lovely you didn't have to worry about dinner.

I've done a bit more to my 10 stitch blanket, MrK cooked dinner seeing as I was working today. I'm going to sort some wool and a pattern out for tomorrow as he has his cataract op and I'll be at the hospital with him. Might as well make the most of the time away from the paint brush and be productive with the needles.

That is so true kiwimade, I found that out last year when Mr K broke his neck. The true friends rally round and do what they can to help.

I hope your Mr K's op goes well. I've seen enough of hospitals in the last few days to last me a while, but in saying that, I've been grateful for the care and attention my Mr K received, even if he didn't want to be there.

Feet up now and try to stay awake and do some knitting.

Night all.

morning ladies :) I forgot to answer your question popeye, no, I didn't find the fabric I wanted. There was an awesome selection of quilting fabric though, and now have all these ideas in my head for quilting! arrgggg... shouldn't have gone lol.

MrK's op is today so I've got my knitting all organised. An Aran crew neck jumper for our grandy in a light purple. I love knitting Aran styles and it should be lovely and toasty warm while she is at Playcentre.

Tomorrow, I paint the back entrance way as we can take the barricade away from the front door now. The paint on the steps will have hardened enough to take the Furry One's claws and not be scratched. He's a very happy dog as he can use his doggy door now.

Better get moving, I want to vacuum all the dead flies up before we leave. Can't believe how many were sprayed last night!

Happy knitting :)

Morning all

Hope your Mr Ks op goes well Kiwimade, love the little jacket little Maddy will look so snug in it.

It's turned quite cold here, will have to put the electric blanket back on the bed as it got down to below 10 last night, I'm not fond of the cold so hope it is just a passing phase and not really autumn yet lol.

Lawns must be done today so hope rain has gone.

Happy knitting everyone

Morning everyone...
Hope all goes well with the eye op Kiwimade, you will be surprised how fast it happens.
Fabric shops are just as dangerous as wool shops then lol.

Yep Kuaka it is nice when friends rally around. I know how tired you will be. When mum was in hospital it was a 45 min drive each way and some days I had to go twice. And when Jimmy my stepfather was in hospital it was 1.5 hours each way.

I didn't start any knitting last night. I looked through patterns and nothing grabbed my attention. so today Im going to try and do some decorated peg fridge magnets. Something a bit different from me, and not too hard on my wrist.

I still have my fan on through the night. Generally on the lowest speed till I get up to put bread on then I turn it up a notch. then snuggle down and go back to sleep again lol..

Welcome Deanna good to see you here.

Have a good day everyone
I love winter so cant wait for it to be cold.

We're home and MrK's op was a success so he is very happy. Another visit to Waikato Hosp tomorrow for a check up and lots of drops but all is good.

I managed to get the ribbing done on the back of the jumper and a couple of patterned rows. So it's a start I suppose.

I've sanded down the entrance way, put the sealant on the ceiling and first coat of white on the door frames and window. Will do another coat after tea and the walls tomorrow after MrK's hosp appointment.

kiwimade64 - 2015-03-18 17:12:00
6857

Its amazing how fast its done in eh Kiwimade. Yep make sure he has the drops.
A friends dad tried to make out he was in pain etc and moaned and carried on. I told him off, I said there is no pain involved, and if your that bad you better go to the hospital. He didn't of course, cos he would have made a fool of himself.
He didn't know Mum had had one done and told me it was off knowing they had been in her eye but there was no pain at all.

What on earth will you do when you have finished the house? lol

I listed Ruby and sold her within minutes.. lol..

popeye333 - 2015-03-18 17:24:00
6858

morning ladies :) Great news about Ruby popeye, that was quick!

MrK did have a bit of pain once the anaesthetic wore off but nothing some panadol couldn't help with. It sure was quick, all over in about 40 minutes, had to wait an hour, then home. We go back this morning for the nurse to check it.

I've got lots to do outside popeye when the painting is done. Garden needs work and there are bricks to move back behind the pump shed along with other things to move back now the painter has gone and the house paint has hardened. Guess it's me doing it as MrK can't lift anything heavy for a while or it will put pressure on his eye. So when I've finished, there will be at least another 10 days to two weeks worth of work outside.

No point taking my knitting this morning as we are only seeing the nurse. Will catch up on that later this evening.

Happy knitting :)

6859

Morning everyone.
Glad MrK isn't having too much trouble.. My friends father was moaning and groaning and complaining about pain for days lol.. Just sympathy seeking.
By the time winter is here you will have everything looking lovely and be able to hibernate Kiwimade lol.

Groceries this morning and posting Ruby. She's off to Taupo.

I might start another snake later, I fancy doing one with red yellow and black like some of the real ones.

Hope MrKuaka is feeling improved today and that Kuaka is managing to rest up a bit from all the travelling.

Have a good day everyone

popeye333 - 2015-03-19 08:45:00
6860

morning ladies, pleased to that your Mr Ks op went well, my Mr K is still with us but I don't see any improvement since he's been home, very tired and not wanting to do anything except sit in the armchair (which was all he was doing before his little holiday in hospital) but while he was in hospital he spent most of the day walking up and down the corridor.

Have to go shopping today, which means a trip to Kerikeri. Spending money on groceries always seems such a waste of wool money, but as we have to eat I suppose it is a priority!

I did absolutely nothing yesterday except go to knit and natter for an hour, and then came home and plonked myself down in my armchair, knitted for a while and struggled to stay awake and that was only in the afternoon. I did doze off briefly in the evening, and I slept well last night, so I'm feeling a bit more human this morning. Ready to take on the world - well not quite that good!

Mr K was cold yesterday so we had the heat pump going all day. My friend who lives just up the road and doesn't feel the cold thought I was mad when I mentioned it, but Mr K feels the cold now even worse than I do, and I don't want him sitting around feeling like a bag of frozen peas.

Better get moving or I'll never get the groceries.

Have a super day everyone.

PS. Well done popeye on selling Ruby so quickly.

hi all, been very busy knitting and sewing and walking and more walking.

carolev - 2015-03-19 14:37:00
6862

Lol Kuaka you made me laugh at the Bag of peas... That would make MrP one too lol.. he is feeling the col a bit more now. Thankfully he will put plenty of clothes on before asking for the heater to go on, or Id be cooking.

Your right about the wool money going on groceries, Oh the fun we could have. Pity we wouldn't then have the energy to use it lol.. I wouldn't even go to the shop to buy it, Id use Deramores lol.

Yes was pleased Ruby and and I know she is going to a good home.

Wow Carole you must be racking up the miles.

Did my INR again today and finally I don't have to test weekly. Back to 3 weekly this time. Funny thing was tho my form for it had expired in the middle of Jan OOps lol. So Ive asked for a new one at med centre.
I don't know which nurse called me today but she obviously cant read it right cos she doesn't get the dose that Ive been on correct. Just as well I know what Im doing and will take my usual dose.

popeye333 - 2015-03-19 15:51:00
6863

When I came home from shopping Mr K is sitting huddled up in his armchair, with a blanket over his legs, and he's wearing a jersey over his shirt and t-shirt,a sleeveless polar fleece zip-up thingey and he's still complaining of being cold with the heat pump going. I've persuaded him to go and sit out on the deck in the sun and it's so nice out there he's now got his shirt sleeves rolled up. Honestly at times these men are worse than kids!

kuaka - 2015-03-19 16:12:00
6864

Yup lol.. They don't seem to remember what they should do.. Or in Mrp's case sometimes he just cant be bothered.
He will sit there and go thirsty, and wait till I get up to do something , then he will ask me to get it.. instead of getting up and having a drink earlier.

popeye333 - 2015-03-19 17:48:00
6865

morning ladies :) I must admit I giggled at the bag of peas lol, thanks for the smile kuaka. Men eh, sometimes I also wonder.
Keep up the good work walking Carole, you will feel great! I love walking as I can look at people's gardens and get ideas.

MrK had his eye patch removed yesterday and his eyes tested.... WOW!!! He went from the biggest font I had ever seen - one letter filled the screen kinda font back down to a size 12. I didn't realise just how blind he was with that cataract. And colour lol, he keeps going on and on and on about the colours he is seeing. Walked into the house and said wow, I love the colours we've picked and arrggg hate the vinyl on the floor lol. Told him just as well as it was too late to change the colour but maybe we could the floor! Can't believe what a huge difference one procedure can make.

Our heatpump is being fitted in about 20 minutes, perfect timing as the mornings are cooling down now.

Have housework to do and some painting touch-ups in the entranceway which will finish that area. Then the laundry and loo to paint and a break for a while before I tackle the bedrooms. Almost there, just dreading the laundry as I need to move the washing machine and tub as well as a big cupboard. And it's an awkward space to get into, so if you hear swearing from the south east Waikato, lol, that's me.

Will try and fit some knitting in there somewhere :P

happy knitting :)

6866

Morning all

Great re Mr Kiwi's eyes - and that he likes the colors that you have Kiwimade would be a bit tough if he didn't lol.

Keep walking Carole, I would be lost if I couldn't walk most days, I wear a pedometer most of the time and that gives me incentive and also shows if I have been slacking for a day or two.

It certainly has been cooler over night past few nights, makes sleeping easier but it can just stay warm during the day thanks (I know Popeye won't suit you lol - probably good we don't live in the same place haha)

Off to gain a few brownie points by helping to fold newsletters for local Church, then as it is so nice and sunny hope to get some more wool dyed I still have 3 skeins and a couple of ideas so itching to see how it comes out.

Happy day all

jayemtoo - 2015-03-20 09:00:00
6867

Morning all..

Its totally amazing what the surgery does eh. And then you fully understand how much you haven't been seeing. Just as well MrK likes the colours, after all this work lol.

Im not a walker, its fine if you have a dog to walk or a reason But I cant just walk for the sake of it. And too much pounding on concrete makes my hips and back ache.

Talking of backs lol... I rolled onto my left side sometime through the night, which for some stupid reason it makes my right hip ache. I had to get out of bed to turn over lol... It was just too painfull.. Stupid really but my hip hurts less if I sleep on it.

I didn't do any craft yesterday, I felt like my brain wasn't engaged.. Will start sewing up the mice today. I just felt if Id don't it yesterday Id have made a mistake.. Better to be safe than sorry.

Loving the cooler starts to the day. I still have my fan on overnight. Ive had 2 wool blankets on my bed all summer, I start without them but often wake up and Ive pulled them up.

Have a fab day all

popeye333 - 2015-03-20 09:14:00
6868

Not so many brownie points after all - got the timing wrong and arrived half an hour late! Got a cup of coffee out of it though

Just dyed 3 lots of sock wool and they look interesting at this stage no idea how they will look once knitted. Will have to stop doing socks as have wool for 3 other projects just waiting patiently.

jayemtoo - 2015-03-20 13:19:00
6869

morning ladies :) lol jayemtoo, I think the brownie points still count as the intention was good.

MrK is still marvelling at colour and at what he can see. He's been cooking tea and doing dishes - even made me lunch yesterday! Couldn't believe it lol. So maybe with his new sight a new attitude has arrived as well.

The heatpump is in but we have to wait for the sparky to wire it into the house. Looks great and should do the trick over winter. We've already noticed how much warmer the house is with the new carpet and curtains so a heatpump is a bonus.

Lawns to mow this morning and a few paint touch ups before dad and his lady friend come for his birthday tea. Have made his cake - coconut and honey - and will ice it later this morning. The Furry One will be happy as he will bring my sister and her dog as well and the two dogs can hoon about.

Did a few rows of knitting last night on the back of this aran jumper and it's knitting up nicely. Have to concentrate on the pattern until I get into the swing of it but that won't take long.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

So pleased its like a new world for MrK... You don't really know what you weren't seeing fully until its fixed eh.

We are nipping over to Pukekohe this morning. Then a friend is coming down to use my guillotine to cut up her birthday invites. MrP is very funny when it comes to lending gear out. he prefers people to use things here and know they are looked after.

Didn't do any knitting etc last night. I have sewn and stuffed the legs arm and body bit of one mouse.. Im on purposely trying not to start any knitting till they are done

Have a fab day all

morning all. I am off to spend 4 hours at spotlight teaching knitting, wish me luck getting on great with Jon's Twins jumpers. the one with the blue jumper wants a red hood .

carolev - 2015-03-21 09:54:00
6872

Afternoon ladies, well I had a late start to the day, slept in till after 9 but I was awake for a couple of hours between 3 and 5.

I've just come home from the laundrette, took my big queensize bedspread in to wash as it's just too big to go in my machine. I was just about to sprinkle the soap powder in on top of it when I read that the powder should go in first, so I put the powder in the next machine and then yanked the bedspread out from the machine I'd chosen and put it in the next one. It was pretty heavy as I'd had the top part (which was badly stained) soaking over night. It's come up pretty good. Next week I think I'll do the woolrest, 'cos last year I spent nearly $40 getting it dry cleaned and it didn't look any better when it came back.

Had to see the doc yesterday, bp is a bit high (not surprising really) and I have a wee skin cancer on my front which she wants to leave a few weeks till the weather has cooled, to reduce the chance of me exposing it to the sun once it's been zapped. She said it's not a type which spreads so not to worry about it. It's really tiny, just annoying.

Took the bedroom curtains down the other day and washed them, so I suppose I'd better iron them and put them back up. Don't feel in the least like doing it. Seemed like a good idea at the time, doesn't seem such a good idea now.

Feeling lazy so after I've re-hung the curtains, going to put my feet up and knit.

Have a super day everyone.

kuaka - 2015-03-21 14:06:00
6873

morning all. got a lot of knitting done yesterday, 1 sleeve and 2 hoods to go. did not go for a walk yesterday so had to use insulin, so figered out walk = no inulin good idea walking

carolev - 2015-03-22 06:55:00
6874

morning ladies :) That was a good idea kuaka, I keep forgetting about using laundrettes for the bigger things.

Yep carole, walking = no insulin is a damed good idea!

Our daughter and her wee family are coming today. Son-in-law is going to help me move some heavier stuff as MrK can't with his cataract. I can then prep the laundry for painting. Yesterday I got the lawns mowed and one outdoor chair painted. They look silly one being a different colour lol but I'll get the second one done next week.

I'll get some knitting in too, I can start slowing down a tad now that I'm nearing the end of the main bits of painting.

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2015-03-22 08:44:00
6875

Morning all
Looks like the nice weather has returned so hope it lasts for a while now.

Good on the walking Carole if it means no insulin - keep it up. You need to get a pedometer as I find this helps give incentive and shows just how much walking I have done.

Yes I would not have thought of the launderette for big Items either so good idea there Kuaka.

Did quite a lot of knitting yesterday - started a little cross over cardy for great nieces birthday and another pair of socks so can had a choice as to what I knit at a time, they are different plys so gives a bit of variety.

Do have a happy and relaxing day everyone

6876

Morning everyone.
Another lovely cool start to the day... Tea is in the crockpot , so I don't have to think about that now.

Will cut MrPs here this morning and then get some housework done. Hopefully Ill be able to use the vacuum without killing my wrist too badly.

Didn't do any sewing yesterday, so will try and get some of that done today.

I was awake every hour on the hour last night as well as the 30 min mark too. Managed to go back to sleep all the time. but Im thinking Ill be having a nana nap later.

Have an good day everyone

popeye333 - 2015-03-22 09:21:00
6877

I've been sewing for a change. Have sewn two cushion covers so far and very happy with the results. Just need to cut the back out for one more and I'll have another three to sew up. Takes longer to measure and cut than to sew lol. Still, it works out cheaper than buying new ones and I get something a bit different to everyone else. Just need to find some contrast fabric so will do that next week.

Glad your wrist is on the mend and you are out of the brace popeye, I would have gone bonkers by now!

kiwimade64 - 2015-03-22 13:03:00
6878

I enjoy sewing when in the mood too Kiwimade... I dug out some fabric the day I did my wrist in, so its still sitting there waiting for something to happen to it.

I managed to vac the whole house, took a break in the middle and cut MrP's hair.. Thus giving my wrist a rest. And its feeling pretty good. No major pain.

Even got the toilet and bathroom cleaned fully.. With Missys help cos she loves the duster lol.

A wee play on here then Ill get back to the sewing.

I was most bonkers at about day 10 Kiwimade. Very depressed. That's why I started doing tiny bits of knitting.. Just to cheer myself up.

I wont be doing anything that could hurt my wrist again, in a hurry that's for sure

popeye333 - 2015-03-22 13:09:00
6879

morning all. getting on well with my knitting give me a week and I will be finished , meet a lady at spotlight she's coming to spend the day with me,

carolev - 2015-03-23 06:45:00
6880

Morning everyone.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Was soo nice doing some housework.

I started a wee soap bag in crochet. Had to know what it would do to my wrist. I've done about 8 rows on 30 stitches and yes it aggrivates my tendons.
Its exactly as I thought it would. So I'm going to have to give up most if Not all my crochet.
Which totally sucks , but if I don't I might Not end up able to knit either.

So the blankets have to passed on elsewhere to be joined up. At least I can still knit some squares.

Lawnmower man due today, first thing so I better get my A into G.

Have a good day all

popeye333 - 2015-03-23 07:24:00
6881

morning ladies :) Listening to 'My Little Pony' cartoons with our wee grandy lol. The TV is never on here until the news comes on in the evening so this makes a change from listening to the Sound :P

Hopefully your tendons will get stronger as you rest them popeye and over time you can pick the hooks up again. But at least you can knit, that's something.

I'm hoping to get the laundry all prepped for painting and maybe the whitework painted, depends on the babysitting :)

No knitting last night, too busy with family. The wee pink and green jacket I knitted was appreciated and loved.

Will be knitting more in the evenings, need to get this jersey finished so it can be worn when the colder weather sets in.

Happy knitting :)

kiwimade64 - 2015-03-23 08:22:00
6882

Morning
You no doubt will become an expert KIwimade on little ponies, Dora and numerous other characters lol.

Don't rush getting back to using that hand Popeye find what you can do and gradually increase it - knitting is a good start for restrengthening the muscles.

Niece's family visiting her mother at present so will catch up with the later but a quick trip into town first.

Had a great knitting last evening and managed to get quite a bit of both projects done.

Have a good day

jayemtoo - 2015-03-23 09:02:00
6883

Ive decided to pass along the large squares of the blankets to be joined up. But I will keep all the little ones. And even if I only join one or two a day. It might take a while but at least I can keep my hand in as they say. And it wont be as heavy as the big ones.

I can imagine Maddy in that Cardy Kiwimade, with her blonde hair.

Ducked up to post a sale before and went to the fruit shop for some bananas. Came home with a $2 box of just bruised golden queen peaches and a few other odd fruits in it.
Now have 3 large jars of peaches cooling on the bench. I would have use maybe 3 cups of sugar max. So it worked out cheaper than the $2-15 per can pf budget peaches we get at the supermarket.. And far nicer too.

I love bottling fruit and freezing veges etc.. Even in small lots they all help.

Time to put my feet up and have a play on here then start sewing Melvin Mouse up. Mellisa is finished.

Have a good day everyone

I'm new to this message board. Just wondering if anyone has any wool (4-ply or double knit) they would care donate - I knit for Middlemore Hospital prem unit and for under-privileged kids, mostly beanies and bootees. So far I have done around 60 beanies and boottee sets. Please don't throw away your offcuts, I would be glad of them. I live in East Auckland so in that vicinity would be great. Cheers

Morning all
First up this morning - not usual for me!
Nice day ahead.
Welcome Juicej - you have been busy, sorry can't help with wool as every scrap seems to get used here as I too knit/crochet for charity with my left overs.
Popeye preserved peaches yummy, I haven't actually preserved for ages but do put quite a lot of fruit into the freezer although we are quite spoilt in Hawkes bay with fresh fruit all year as long as we have what is is season. I see the early fejoas are starting to drop I have a later variety so scalage from others first lol.

Have appointments most of today so won't be a knitting day.

jayemtoo - 2015-03-24 07:47:00

good morning juicej we have a page on face book join us there I have wool you can have, on last sleeve of twins jumpers then hoods been a long time , but have done baby things as well, meet a nice lady at spotlight, she spent the day with me knitting, rained all night but fine now. lost another kg this week lost 9 now

Morning everyone.
Welcome juicej... Like Jayemtoo I use all my little bits in blankets etc too

Well done Carole on losing the weight it all makes a difference to the sugar levels.

Im off to club today. Am taking my paper punches and some paper. something I don't have to think about lol.

Then Im coming home to watch the cricket since Prime has it on today Yay.

Have a good day everyone

popeye333 - 2015-03-24 08:27:00
6888

morning ladies :) Wow carole, good on you! Well done :) I bet you feel better for it too.

I'm sorry juicej, I don't have a wool stash as such, I use everything as I go now. I have decluttered the house and intend for it to stay that way. Now quilting fabric, embroidery threads... that's my next challenge lol.

yummmmm bottled peaches. I haven't bottled for years either, mainly as fruit has always been so expensive. But MrK is making sweet chilli sauce and tomato relishes. Our chillies and tomatoes are ripening all at once now.

Our grandy has gone home and the house is very quiet without her. She 'helped' me fold washing and empty the laundry for painting. Of course the Furry One was hot on her heels so it was a long slow job lol. But I have sanded the walls and the sealant is on the walls and ceiling. Will paint the white work after grocery shopping today. Need to get rat bait as the walnuts are dropping on the neighbours property and the rats are back.

Did a few rows of knitting last night, but fell asleep with the needles in my hands.

Happy knitting :)

Hi I always read this thread but have never been game enough to post.
Feel so lazy with all the jobs you all do plus having ill husbands or not being 100% fit yourselves.
Wondering if any of you read the article in "That's Life " Issue 12 March 30th
A lovely kitchen completely knitted by some knitters in Australia .
Sorry for intruding on your patch.

1shadow1 - 2015-03-24 16:23:00
6890

Its not intruding at all trishch.. Your most welcome.

I didn't see the article. But I have a friend who buys that's life so I will ask if she has it. She might not being that her mother was in hospital at the time. but hopefully she did.

Its amazing what people Yarn Bomb these days. Ive seen cars trees etc done. But not a kitchen

popeye333 - 2015-03-24 17:11:00
6891

Yes welcome trishch, I have seen some amazing yarn bombing, but personally I couldn't be bothered putting so much effort into anything unless it had a practical purpose.

I slept in well this morning, after 9.30 when I woke. By the time I'd become humanised, had breakfast and a shower, wrapped a couple of parcels, it was time to go out for the afternoon. When I came home I found some cockles sitting in the kitchen waiting to be cooked. A friend had dropped them in. Same friend gave us a kahawai yesterday (which he presented to us on a frisbee!) so we had fish yesterday for tea and again today.

Tomorrow is knit and natter, so I had better start something "no think".

Don't worry kiwimade, I often nod off in the chair mid-way through a row of knitting. Last night, with only 3 rows to do to finish my current project, puss jumped onto my lap and one of my knitting needles vanished and I couldn't find it. It was hiding in a pocket in my handbag which was sitting beside my chair, I found it this morning.

Happy knitting everyone.

carolev - 2015-03-25 07:40:00
6893

morning
Feel for you Carole - ouch.
I agree re yarn bombing Kuaka it just seems such a waste of time, effort and yarn when I see it I think how clever but how many blankets would that have made to keep someone warm!

Another lovely day here - think I had better get the windows cleaned today they are certainly needing it.

Still enjoying knitting the socks and seeing how the patterns work out but must get onto the cardy as well although have a month yet to finish it as for the little ones birthday.

have a good day all

morning ladies :) Welcome trishch :) Always good to see new posters here. And no, I haven't seen that article, will see if I can find a copy of the mag.

I watched the cricket last night, what a nail biting finish... bring on Sunday lol. Love those close games.

I'm going to finish the laundry today, have painted one wall so I can move the washing machine and a cupboard. I'll have to turn the water off as one of the washing machine taps in the tub has seized and won't turn off. MrK is going to help me lift the door onto sawhorses so I can sand it down and paint, it's damed heavy, solid wood. Am hoping I can sand the loo down to start that tomorrow or Friday.

It's all go next door with a huge digger working there. A house is being moved onto the land next week so the prep work is being done. The Furry One has sat on the steps staring at the digger for most of the night, just in case this giant thing decided to move lol.

This afternoon I'm going to sit and knit. I need to get this jumper finished, definitely getting cooler here now.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.

I didn't watch the end of the game last night. But pleased to hear we won. Even tho I love South Africa too as I have decendants from there.

We are running on a go slow today... Just had breakfast. lol... Going to have a very lazy day.

Lol at the furry one keeping an eye on the Digger. Our furry one has been having hissy fits at our "Digger". We have one of those pretend dogs that are basically the back end of a foxy and looks like they are dug down into the ground. Our boy foxy was called Digger so this one gets called Digger too. But Ive moved it in so Missy can see that its fake.
I think she has seen it cos shes down in my room now lol

Watching the news thingee run across the bottom of the screen and I see Angelina Jolie has had her ovaries removed.. I wonder why that is of International importance.

Have a good day everyone

Morning ladies, you're not as slow as me popeye, I didn't wake till 9.50, so haven't had breakfast yet, brought the paper in and am on my first cup of tea. Mr K is still in bed. He watched the cricket in bed (we only get prime on the bedroom tv - can't get it on the family room one) and I only watched the last over, 'cos I can't knit sitting up in bed.

Have to get cracking soon as I'm off to knit and natter - I like to get there just before 11.

Happy knitting everyone.

time for a cuppa, just have to turn the water off so I can move the washing machine and paint behind it. Then I'll wait for it to dry and do the second coat so I can move it back and have water turned back on.

I think with Angelina Jolie she has a 'cancer gene' and has lost family members to breast and ovarian cancer. By publicising what she is doing, she is showing other women in the same position different options for their health care. I think what she is doing is very brave especially as it is so public. I am not a fan by any means but anything to draw attention to different options must be a plus, I think.

Better finish my cuppa and get this wall done.

Hope you have a good time Kuaka.

Your right Kiwimade, Im just not into so called celebs etc. if she helps save one woman that's all good. but it just looked so totally out of place amongst news of a Air crash etc.

One of my friends is potty over celebs and stars.. to me they are simply people doing their job that they get paid for. No different to a cleaner or rubbish bin man. Yet they are supposedly famous for simply doing their job.

Ive given MrP a pedicure this morning, sewn a belt and made the best pinwheel scones Ive made for lunch. they were yummy. we only have them once in a blue moon. I prefer cheese ones really.

Missy has made peace with "digger" and she plays around him. I have him sitting on an empty potato bag that she plays in.. She tries to get under it to find his head I guess, but of course there's nothing there lol. She was running around and trying to hide behind it too... Should have brought it in ages ago since she is having soo much fun with it lol.

laundry is pretty much done except for the doors which need another coat of paint and rehanging. I disturbed a mouse that was hiding in the basket of cleaning stuff, the Furry One knew it was there and was sniffing around too. It jumped from the basket onto his back lol, what a scuffle! They both got such a fright lol but the Furry One caught and killed it. That's two today, one was caught in the trap behind the fridge. Hate maize cutting season, we get an influx of mice.

Am going to have a shower and then a cold beer. Think I have earned one. Will knit later when I have all the paint off me.

You certainly have deserved a sit down Kiwimade, good on the furry one for eliminating the mouse.

Been such a nice day here, managed some housework and have fitted in a bit of knitting too.
