Morning ladies. It's cooler this morning, (almost feels like autumn is just around the corner) but I think it will heat up, there's not a cloud in the sky.

I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out but I'm not all that happy with the half-hexagons, they seem a little too big. Might have to do them differently if I was ever mad enough to do another one.

Going to try to alter a dress for a lady today (wasn't game enough to do it yesterday on Friday 13th), it's a size 6 and needs taking in - I can't see me ever having that problem!!!

Other than that, I suppose I should have a tidy up (that's always the case) and I have some lettuce seedlings to plant. That will depend on how hot it gets, might have to do that this evening.

You will be pleased when it's all finished kiwimade. All your hard work will be worth it.

Size 6 down to a size 4? Omg, what does she eat? Thin air? I'll never have that problem either kuaka lol. Love your hexagon blanket, I see what you mean by the half hexagons. Maybe a row less so it is slightly less than half or even a smaller hook?

Kuaka I love the colors in your blanket. At present finishing off weaving,felting and knitting projects. I will put it all away as I am having surgery on my shoulder in 10 days time.Will not be able to use my shoulder for 2 months. Be lots of reading,DVDs and walking.
You need to check out Skeinz site later today. It's sale time again. Went with friend as she needed wool for her blanket.Not a lot in the sale. Understand it be topped up daily.
Not warm here either in Hawkes Bay.

The scrap metal has gone.. Even more room in the garage now. Now I don't mind if he leaves his mess all over the place lol. At least there is room to move now.

MrP is going for a lay down so I can leave the cricket on. we are doing ok already.
MrP is a cricket widower lol.. Its me that loves it. Although Ill only see the free games, we don't have sky sport.

I will stay away from Skeinz sale lol.. I will admit I reeeally feel like going to spotlight lol.

Today the walls in the living room get their first coat of colour. Am about to start as it gets so hot and glary in there without the curtains. Was wearing my sunglasses yesterday as I painted the sealant on lol. Reading in another thread, some have their fires going! Just crazy when it is so hot here, yet cold elsewhere.

Hopefully I'll get some knitting done today, I suspect my Dad will be visiting now I'm almost finished the painting.

Nearly there Kiwimade... Yup Dad will have to come for in inspection lol... But I bet hes proud of you for getting it all done.

I have finished Knitting Melvin, so that's my "Job" for the month.. I might have to start a long term project of a ripple blanket for us.

Those Blardy green squares, I tried twice to start one last night. I just don't think my mind was there.. So I put it down and tried later and have finally got it sorted. something soo dam simple and it just didn't want to work lol.

The pain in my back is now just my spine and when I sit or bend. My mouth is still very sore, but Im going to have to put my teeth in to go to the shop lol.. Should be fun Not lol... That will teach me eh.

The bread is cooked for lunch, the chicken is in the crockpot for tea... All done by 9am lol..

Ohh to be cold enough for a fire, Wont be long till it starts getting cooler, Hopefully

first coat of colour on all the walls except the new gib and where I had already painted down the hallway. Needed to be a damed contortionist to do some of the bathroom, why do they make silly gaps between the wall and vanity? Honestly, only a man could have designed that!

Time for lunch and a sit down I think. Might even squeeze in some knitting, if can find my knitting bad under the drop sheets lol.

morning ladies :) The house painter is arriving in half an hour with some of his scaffolding, he has a few loads to bring out. So he will be starting on the roof today :D, so exciting!

My agenda is to finish painting the bathroom, seal the new gib board after the plasterer has sanded it this morning and put a coat of colour on it this afternoon. Then tomorrow I can put the last coat of paint on the living room walls all in one hit. I will have to go round and do some touch ups with white paint where my roller has touched the scotia boards but that won't take long to do.

I love that memory blanket one of the ladies on FB is knitting, I've squirrelled away the pattern as I can see it will be useful for those odds and ends of wool. So far my 10 stitch blanket has three rows, I can see it will be an on going thing as I will be bored with it very soon!

Morning all

Great to be home again after several very busy days with niece's wedding but it was all good.
You all seem to have been busy - getting there house wise Kiwimade, you will be ready for a holiday when it is all finished.
Kuaka just love the blanket it looks quite complicated to do and the colors are beautiful and what a lucky girl to get the jacket Carole it's lovely.
Hope all the aches and pains are settling now.

So much for having a "speedy" red car I had the slowest trip ever going to Wellington as got behind several camper vans toddling along in the middle of the road at 80k. It seemed that I would just get past one and start making up a bit of time and blow me down there was another one. Also managed to get into a couple of go slow traffic jams in Wellington due to incidents on the motorways, which just reinforced why I wouldn't want to live in a big city.
Didn't manage to even one stitch while I was away but back into it when I got home with doing the sleeves on a baby jacket.
I saw that memory blanket too and think it would be another way of using up bits and pieces so have downloaded it just in case lol.

Morning everyone.
Yes the back is improving greatly. Im nursing it tho when it comes to bending over. Now if my gums would settle down Id be a happy lassy.. Pringles and gums don't work well. Been very sore since Friday.
Ive made a drs appointment for later. Its affecting glands. And I don't want any infections getting to my valve.

Men have a lot to answer for Kiwimade. My landlord did a typical man thing when he got us a new stove. Yay it has a light, which the last one didn't , But it doesn't have any power points on it...

Lol Daisygirl Im nearly two months from buying any yarn... Its starting to feel horrible now.

Its Whiskey13's memory blanket on FB.. Its cool. Ive saved the pattern too. Its different to the one Mum made me.

Ive gone back to my Cardy again. Ill get that done, and knit squares for my know think. now that I have the size of them sorted.

I want to do the granny ripple blanket, and Im thinking well I will have plenty of the wool from my cardy, I could use. but then I also would love to make a red white and blue one.

Its been a lovely day out there.

Ive been to the drs. I have brusied, blistered and a light infection in my gums. So have massive antibiotics and a numbing spray.
She did say I'd don't the right thing, with having the mechanical valve.

Our regular dr is away, so I was worried about seeing a new one, but she made me feel right at home straight away.

I have managed to get some knitting on my sleeve done so that's good.

Undecided if Ill go to club tomorrow. Will depend if I can get the nashers in lol

You can't muck about with mouth infections when you have had heart surgery popeye so you absolutely did the right thing. Hope you get well quickly.

Bathroom is finished! yayyy lol. One more coat of paint on the living room walls and it is done! Sparkie comes Wednesday to put in the new light fittings so finally will get the new light shades we bought in the Boxing Day sales, up. MrK found a window sill had rotted when he was sanding down the house so builder is coming on Thursday to take it out, have it fixed, and put back in Friday afternoon. An unexpected bill but I added an extra 10% to the budget for things like this.

Had my shower and a cold beer, time for some knitting :)

That's for sure Kiwimade, Im glad I went. This difflam spray is good stuff and doesn't taste anywhere near as bad as Bonjella lol.

Well done on getting the bathroom done... Wont be long and it will all be finished. Tis a wise woman who had a contingency plan in the budget. Cos you never do know what can be found.

Im thinking about what type of Card I will get my friend for her 50th birthday.. Might have to get a funny and serious one... And most likely end up spending as much on that as part of the present lol

morning ladies :) Silly isn't it how cards can be so expensive. Every now and then Whitcoulls have a 50% off cards sale so I stock up. But occasionally you need that really special one.

One last push today with the painting and then I can put my brushes down for a bit. The outdoor chairs still need doing and eventually I will work my way round the bedrooms, loo and laundry. Kitchen will be huge to do so that will be last. Primer paint is on the roof, I wonder what people think when they drive passed and if they think the bluey-green will be the colour lol.

Did some knitting last night but fell asleep with it in my hands.

Morning ladies, cooler again this morning. I've just started a scarf in 1 x 1 rib (it's an order) and after doing half a dozen rows I realised I was doing moss stitch - what a twerp, so I had to "frog" it. I love that saying almost as much as "tinking"!

Like carolev I don't really have much news.

Good luck with the painting kiwimade, hope you get it all done soon so you can sit back and enjoy it. Our place needs pretty well most of the inside doing, the bedrooms, and en suite, and the lounge, hall and staircase all need doing. The roof still needs doing and Mr K has finally admitted he won't be able to do it, so looks like I will have to. I'll wait till the weather cools down a bit - be like a sauna up there at the moment.

Morning everyone.. Looks like another lovely day..
No club for me today, talking is a bit tricky as the front of my mouth hurts the most now. Eating it getting tricky.. But it will mend eventually. A couple of days on the antibiotics will probably make me feel better in myself tho.

Our place could do with a paint too and new carpet. Will be 11 years in june since we got here and its just wear and tear on it. Bumps with the walker and wheelchair etc. And Bob used to scratch the walls.,

Will grate my extra cheese I got on sunday, this morning. Got it while cheap and will find room in the freezer. Cos its bound to go up again. And might start on the next pumpkin.

On the decreasing on my sleeve now. should get that one done today.

I'm FINISHED the painting!! ALL of it too, all the little touch-ups are done and it looks awesome. Am wrapped with the results and to top it all off there was a cancellation with the carpet layer so new carpet is going down next Wednesday! The roof is painted and looks amazing, so pleased with colour choices. Kuaka, our painter is cooking up there on the roof, he said no sooner has he sprayed the paint on and it's dry. He keeps bottles of water in the fridge and drinks litres of it.

Will knit later when the day has cooled down a bit.

Got the cheese grated. Took for ever to get two loads of washing done. It would un-level and I didn't know. So still have a load for tomorrow.

Pain in manageable, all except the very front on my mouth. but it will get there. Mashed tatty for my tea lol... Maybe smothered in cheese sauce... Yumm

morning ladies :) lol popeye, no sitting back just yet. Although last evening I did sit there with a huge grin on my face! Carpet arrives next Wednesday, the first time ever I have had new carpet.

Today though I will be moving a heap of old bricks stacked against the pump shed. Need to move them for the painter. Lawns need mowing too but that won't take long, really just a tidy up. Then I'll start room by room putting small things into boxes so when the carpet layer comes it will be no biggie to move stuff. It should all be over in two weeks, phew!

I need to clean the bathroom so the Sellys sealant can be squirted around the bath, had to wait a week for paint to harden before that could be done. Just a small job but another first for me as it has always been MrK doing those little jobs.

And of course, I will try and get some knitting in :)

Morning everyone.. a nice morning today. Not too warm too fast.

Ohh will be exciting with new carpet. Apparently its smells for a while, so you might need some pretty smellie things to combat it.

How is MrKs eye ? is he having his drops like he should?

My mouth is slowly mending.. Its really just the front that still hurts a lot now. Had an exciting tea lol mashed potato and cheese sauce... But at least it filled me up.
My back is getting there, still being careful. Got told off for bringing in two huge loads of washing, in one hit last night. I thought well instead of telling me off, he could have offered to bring it in lol..
Will fold that today.

Have done the ribbing on my second sleeve. I might start a bow scarf for CMA, so that I don't have to think about increases tonight while watching one of my fave shows. Alaska the last frontier.

Finished mowing the lawns and moving over 350 bricks, cleaned the bathroom, time for a break I think.

Bathroom is sparkling now, what a difference a bit of jiff and elbow grease does to the handbasin and bath lol. I've been standing on the sides of the bath to get paint into the corners so it was looking a tad grubby.

Popeye, MrK didn't have the cataract op done, was just our initial appointment. We have to go back to see the surgeon as he had an emergency op to do while we were there.

I have to go into town after lunch to pick up some fresh watercress and pop into the council for a new 'danger, live wire' sign. Then I can put my feet up for a bit and knit :)

Gutters are coming down today so the painter can paint the flashings, he has started scraping back part of one wall and our house was brown before it was painted cream. Interesting to see other people's ideas of how the house should look. Roof is finished and it looks like a brand new roof! Hopefully the sparky will come today to finish putting in the light fittings and the builder is coming back to take out a window for repairing. I'll be organising bedrooms over the next few days, packing up books and small things so it can all be easily moved for the carpet layer. Will also vacuum thoroughly.

At some point, I'll try and do some knitting but I feel guilty sitting there when MrK and the painter are working hard outside.

lol carole, no, we sold some land we had. Money is being reinvested into the house as it was long overdue for a makeover. The plan was always to sell the land and use that for the do-up. Not much will be left over by the time we are finished!

Well Tuesday saw me giving puss her first worm tablet (well the first one from me). Score was 3-1 to puss. I got the tablet down her throat on the fourth attempt, she managed to claw my finger on my third attempt (bled like crazy).

Woke at 2am to the sounds and smell of puss chucking up on the bedspread, so had to strip that off, spray it and find another one.

Decided this morning that I would finally start using the new washing machine, which meant lugging it from the bathroom to the bedroom doorway, moving the old machine into the bathroom and then installing the new one. Before I could do that the chap at the shop told me I had to undo a bolt underneath the machine. We upended it and I couldn't see anything remotely like a bolt to undo. Tried again (Mr K was getting tired of holding it at this stage). Still couldn't see anything to undo. Look at the manual Kuaka. There are four bolts on the back of the machine to undo. Undid them in a jiffy, put the machine in place, made sure it was level (used the spirit level) and did my first load of washing. It's very very quiet, and spins very fast. I'm impressed so far.

Have almost finished the scarf so will get back to other things after that.

Us girls can do anything eh kuaka, mind you, sometimes we have to. I bet you notice a huge difference having a quieter machine, mine sounds like a jet engine taking off. The painter did comment how quiet our lawnmower was though, I thought it was noisy as heck!

Woke up this morning to find a garage on a trailer parked in our old paddock. Didn't hear a thing and even the Furry One didn't bark lol. We have heard stories from friends in town the house is being jacked up ready for moving so we guess it will be a matter of today/tonight and it will be there too. So quickly done once all the consent forms and legalities are finished with.

I dusted last evening instead of knitting. Now the 'inside' tradies are done (and that includes me lol) I can catch up. Dust for Africa again, the really fine plaster dust. All good though, the lights are in and the TV is on the wall with no unsightly cords dangling down. So today I will vacuum then keep going with boxing up stuff that will need to be moved Wednesday. Just our wardrobe (shoes) to throw in a box and I can vacuum in there (gosh it gets dusty in wardrobes!). Just want to make it as easy as possible for the carpet layers. Think it will be quicker to pick up a box of shoes rather than a few at a time.

I need to knit, not want lol, need. So will find time today to do some.

I did a little sewing for a friend and she knows I don't like charging my friends so she's taking me out to lunch instead. Looking forward to it.

Have to zip into town this morning for bread and milk and to check the mail, so I'd better get myself moving, my friend is picking me up at midday.

Think I have sold the old washing machine. Put an ad on f/b last night and someone says they will pick it up and pay for it at the weekend. Hope they do as I want it out of the bathroom.

Morning everyone.
Yes us Girls Can do anything... I know in my case if I had to wait till MrP could help, nothing would get done.
Im going to finally vac today. Its very dull and has been raining so its nice and cool. And I think my Back will handle it. Ive told MrP he can do the dishes, which are very few.
Im going to start the prep for changing the office around too. I have to put either a cupboard or small set of drawers into a spot where they wont be able to be used. so stuff that I don't want to get rid of, but don't need access to can go into Probably the drawers then I can just do things as my back handles it. Moving a scotch chest of drawers full of wool and a very heavy bookcase, will be tricky but Im not going to ask for any help, it would just end up a slanging match from him. In frustration that he cant do it.

Only knitting I did yesterday were latches for MrPs socks he wears in bed. To stop him from scratching his legs with the rough skin on his feet.

HAve a lovely lunch out Kuaka... And yep if we didn't have to eat or have power and phone, we would be in wool heaven lol

Yes best not to be out after a night like that. not good re MrK.. MrP has falls outside and tries not to tell me. he forgets I see if bruises come up lol.

I have a doozy bruise myself a deep deep purple on just on the edge of where your skin goes light on the inside of the arm to the tanned, smack on the joint. Havent a clue how I got it, I assume I banged it on something.

Ive sorted some stuff in the office. Moved the need to use stuff to a better place. Made two shelves avail in the cupboard MrP made me ages ago. So when I do some more Ill be moving stuff off shelves into the cupboard and floor so I can move the furniture.

Decided to have a look through my Poster tube. Found an oil painting done on a canvas. Its lovely but neither of us can remember where we got it from. I cant make out anything but an H and R at the end of the signature. Its huge lol. We haven't looked in the tube for many many years lol

Time to play on here and pick up the needles again

One lot to help out one of the ladies who is pregnant with a boy, but couldn't resist buying mauve when she did her Deramores order.
And another lot with lots of lovely orange crepe, and some bright veriegateds. And the acrylic Im sending to her 10ish year old Grand daughter who has just learnt to crochet and loves it.

I did a bit of a giggle and suggested it wont be long till we have the grand daughters generation of Yarn Stashers Anonymous lol.

I just love crepe so will add it to my stash.

Feels as good as Buying lol. Havent really increased the stash, just changed it lol

Morning everyone. Overcast here but no rain.

Not good your feeling unwell Carole. Wise not to sew tho. Ive always found I have to be fully fit to sew or something is bound to go wrong.

Am not far from the end of the increasing on my second sleeve. we watched about a weeks worth of Coro that Id recorded last night, so had plenty of time to knit

Back to the office this morning. I remembered that in the low boys in MrPs room there are a couple of empty drawers so will transfer the stuff we don't want to get rid of but don't use into his room, leaving me more space in the office for my stuff.
Just doing a little each day as I don't want to do me back in again.

I was good and didn't go to the garage sale, I knew they had yarn there. but I on purposely stayed away. We don't need anything else in the house lol.. Other than yarn lol.

morning ladies :) Our grandy, daughter and son-in-law are staying so we have had a wonderful afternoon yesterday babysitting. Gosh, she is such a good wee thing, no grizzles just chat, chat chat! The Furry One was shattered by the end of the day lol, he follows her everywhere. They go home this morning but MrK has a couple of jobs for son-in-law before they leave. We did warn family, if they decided to stay during the reno, they would find themselves with a job to do!

Looks like I'll be painting the kitchen, dining room next week thanks to a rotten windowsill. Won't take long as the areas I have done were the worst in the house.

No time for knitting with grandy here, just cuddles and giggles.

I only have the last bedroom to thoroughly vacuum, then I'm going to knit after everyone has gone home.

Morning everyone.
Sounds like you have been having fun Kiwimade. Love chatty wee ones, she must be very content and happy.

I got my office changed yesterday. MAn the scotch chest full of wool is a heavy sucker. But I didn't have to move it far. Managed to get it out, without MrP knowing. Was texting my friend ,saying I hope he doesn't catch me, and I hadn't even sent the txt and he caught me lol... but he didn't offer to help me put it back.
I wouldn't have let him anyway. Ive always loved changing rooms around. And can swing furniture around quite well. But its all set up nicely now.

One little set of drawers to tidy in my room. Under the tv, they're not bad but I shoved our engagement whiskey glasses in there when Missy knocked one off the bathroom windowsill I had them sitting on. And they need to be put away properly.

Then I plan on sitting and knitting, Am about to cast off at the start of the shaping, and watch Crimson fields that I recorded a while back.

Will get my sleeve finished, then only sewing up and the bands. of course finding buttons is going to be the proverbial, cos purple ones will make the wool look blue and blue will make it look mauve.. Might be tempted to put like those bone/brown/cream type ones they put on shirts these days.
