Hi all,
I have a collection of old NZ postal history items (or at least NZ post related items) such as: 938490164 939812792 940353204 939314803 940877941 939812744
The collection includes lots of old bits from post offices as they were closed down and early promotional items posters etc. I am wanting to know what the most appropriator categories are before I list more as have been putting some of the badges under Military badges as with some uniforms but not sure if they would be better in NZ stamps. Any help and suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Hi all,

Do "Totara North" post marks have any special value, esp first day of issue envelopes or FDC's?

i thought the NZ business confidence was down, but not for the stamps market. This afternoon's John Mowbray's international stamp auction was pretty exciting with a of of dealers bidding against one another

Yep. All gloves are off once you are in the auction room.
Exciting day. Some prices were very strong, but well worth the trip up.
Bought some nice lots.

i wonder why sometimes the JM's estimates were way above the final selling prices ans some are not. There were alot of interest in the almost everything interesting. I saw some nice but expensive covers, some nice NZ collections and FFQ looks popular again.

There is a particular dealer from North Palmerston (LOL), she is a prolific postcard buyer. Obviously there are buyers out there looking for NZ postcards.

Its sounding like this will be a great event. I have a North Island collector who is flying in tomorrow morning (Friday] who wants to spend some hours checking my stocks tomorrow so he will have Sunday free to check out the other dealers!

I have only just found this page, maybe I wasn't looking before.
Earlier this year I inherited a very extensive well cared for stamp and first day cover collection.
By skimming through I note that there is still a lot of interest in stamps.
I will need to research an area closer too home than Wellington or Christchurch .

There are reliable dealers in your area including Hamilton. If you check out the New Zealand Stamp Dealers website you will find some reliable dealers listed in your district. There are also a couple of dealers in the Rotorua area who you will get an honest opinion from but of course you do do need to find their names out as I'm not allowed by Trademe rules to individually promote them by name.

Help !
When listing in -My Products- you enter the Start Price, Buy Now Price and FPO Price.
Next to FPO you have a window (copy to from Buy Now)

Question: A Buy Now price is normally higher than the start/reserve price.
and the FPO likely lower.

Why is the option only to copy the Buy Now price which would be highest in most cases ?

Any one willing to answer ?

More chance of getting response if you placed in "Trade Me Discussion" section.

Thank you for the reply.
As TM reads all of these posts this should also be noticed.
What they do with it is anybodies guess.

Is that Totara North from Kaeo way? My Dad's friend ran the shop there way back in the day.

They had postal zones in the 3 large cities with Christchurch having I think 6 zones. So Christchurch 1 was central, Christchurch 2 was Sydenham and towards the Port Hills etc. You even got Postmarks in the 1950's which had these zones in the Postmark

I think the dealers faces may be a bit glum because of lack of trade today in the morning as the Rugby Test All Blacks verses Georgia wil be live 8am till at least 10am and then with after match comments it won't give much time before the stamp fair closes at 12 noon. Mind you if there are any non rugby collectors about it will give them a great chance to get one on one personal service with no jossling to get into the front of the stands!

I, of course will be there bright eyed and bushy tailed.
