I love the fact that he looks like a right hippie and you can see some people looking down their noses at him but the moment he starts to play ... they are sold on him.

A gentle little 'bump' ...

and hello everyone :)
Miss 16 has her formal prize giving tomorrow night so Mum is on her way up from Chch today & we'll drive over to Golden Bay in the morning. Can't wait to see her ... and hopefully see her rewarded for all the hard work she's put in at school this year.
Mum's bringing her best friend with her (at 70 & 75 they're always looking for adventure) so I'll take them for a boat trip in the Abel Tasman on Saturday with one of the water taxis. Last time they were up I took them out on a Farewell Spit tour so this'll be something different.

Hi Everyone.. a long while since I've read the thread.. great successes for your daughter Rae.. well done to her.. and to you too..

I hope all is well for you all.. that Christmas plans are easily achieved and there are interesting new recipes to try..

An eventful time over these past months.. I went to care for my Aunt after she was discharged from hospital, the next night she collapsed, ambulance men thankfully able to save her twice on way to hospital, the staff again when there.. frightening.. I sat with her eldest son in the emergency ward waiting room waiting to be able to see her.. a long night.. finally we could.. so thankful she would be ok. stayed with her for two weeks once she came home, she's slowly improving, lots of family keeping close contact with her.. Two days after I returned home, her eldest son, with whom I'd sat that night in the waiting room, died suddenly, a heart attack.. shocking for his Mum and us all.. a huge funeral.. a huge tribute to him and his family.

Jenni has just completed her first year of her Counselling Degree, Chris his first year of his Masters Degree in Environmental Planning, they've both achieved excellent results they have every reason to be proud of.. and I'm their proud Mum :-)

Hi everyone. I will probably get my hand smacked but here goes anyway. Years ago I planted a rosemary bush expecting it to do 'quite well'. That was a most naive expectation as over the years the rosemary angels just kept sprinkling it with their angeldust and it grew and grew and GREW'. I use it alot, I give it away. I have taken cuttings and given them away when roots appear. It has been couried to friends and rellies, frozen etc.Ok so where is this going? He who has spoken rather ill of my beloved rosemary threatening to chop it off at ground level as it has grown over a little of the driveway has now bought a shiney new truck. D day is looming very fast and the rosemary is being threatened with rosemary heaven. If any of you would like some let me know- I'm talking seriously good rosemary and seriously huge 'tree'. Seaon's greetings to you all and please may this this thread continue for another year.

wed: the guy came to the party and fixed my car at last, and didn't charge me (he shouldn't have but he could also have told me bugga off)
thurs: the man at sharps glass in lower hutt...fixed the rubber on the windscreen for free for me, so I paid it forward and bought gifts for the xmas tree for children that may not get presents this year
frid: ive got part time work cleaning...any work is better than none ....wont be with family this year as working now xmas day, but that's ok being able to work is fantastic
frid: the lady at the local gym gave me the deal of a lifetime, 6 cans for the foodbank and 120 up front I now have gym and pool access until may 2014.....I think im going to buy togs and start swimming - and the good news is other people will look as bad in togs as I do lol
im going to buy a lotto ticket tomorrow!!!

Thank you for the messages above.. my Aunt is doing ok.. has home help now, thank goodness it's available for people now.. still a shock that her son, my cousin, died.. he was the same age as me.. he was the second of her three son's to pass on.. one son left..

I have peaches almost ripe on one tree.. Golden Haze.. very similar in look and taste to Golden Queen.. they're large peaches.. I think I'll be bottling them and making a few jars of jam a day or so after Christmas..

Take good care.. enjoy your Christmas.. and doing whatever you'd like to do.. and best wishes for a wonderful 2014..

my xmas meatloaf was a success, i went shopping and wasn't prepared to pay the high costs at the supermarket for ham, nor did we need a whole turkey for 3 people, so i got some turkey mince, free range pork sausages , i used gluten free bread, finely chopped red onion/sage/parsley, grated two small apples and one carrot mixed it all together, added two eggs, lined the loaf tin with streaky bacon and filled, baked it then took out and flipped it over for presentation - added a mix of worcheshire/tomatoe/sugar poured over the top and in the fridge, this meant it was ready christmas day to be heated through, i must say it was very nice indeed, and went well with the rest of the roast meal.

I am afraid its people like you pickles that has seen this thread unused, Many of us keep in contact in a place that we can choose who are our "friends" and lock out those who try to cause trouble and we wouldn't mix with in real life.

You should see the nastiness popping up in another long running thread and one of pickles' threads from the not so lovely ladies who patronise this thread. Do you have any comments about that or is that fine with you?

This thread reads more like a personal medical journal.....buzzy110.... the other actual posters have dropped out, they were not wanting to do what was expected of them any more.
They show themselves up in a very poor light, in the threads I start. Always the same two people showing up. I actually know one of their old workers from a while back. She dropped off after she worked out where we had met up, I did give her an unquestionable hint.. lol.
