hello all, I haven't posted for a while, a lot going on and was on the brink of coming home Monday, was two ticks from buying an air ticket and a job landed in my lap, it could turn out to be just what I want, time will tell, and if not then I will head home, gosh I must say could anyone click a button and send me a plate of smoked kahawai in parsley sauce been craving that for months now LOL
the shakes scared me a bit as my son is close to the thick of it all, but they are hanging in there - I just got him a flash juicer for his bday, it doesn't strip the nutrients from the produce and he is such a keen organic gardener, and almost vegetarian - only eats fish occasionally now. im very proud of him, and if I don't come home soon we are planning to head to nelson for my 50th, I want to kayak in the national park and Winnie sent me the info I need.thank you my dear...and im losing weight at last so I can be fitter for it!!!!! right time to head to bed...hugs and love to all

I must admit when someone came into this thread a few months ago and stirred things up, it kind of made me feel vulnerable coming in and posting.
But I agree there is a whole different tone in here now, which I am grateful for. We all come from different walks of life - and a little tolerance and respect goes along way. Some people seem to post with the sole purpose of stirring things up.... which made me feel incredibly sorry for them if that's the way they get there kicks. I get my kicks from scritching my very tame chooks under their wings.... or having a glass of bubbles on the deck with my girls or friends. We eat healthily most of the time... and then indulge periodically - no one is going to get me to delete a whole food group from my diet.
My latest thing foodwise is - I am incredibly time poor - so I am doing this - Have had my first box and it was amazing - so fresh and delivered to my door.
https://foodbox.co.nz/ for $45
I looked at it and I could probably have brought it for a few $$$ cheaper but I have a 19 & 21 year old who eat a lot of fruit and veg and I was not keeping up with it. This way it gets delivered Thursday and that's it - when its gone its gone, so that factor may even save me money. I plan to plant fruit trees and fence off an area from the chickens so I can grow my own vegetables again - but as a short term fix..... great
I don't mind the supermarket as I only go every 3-4 weeks and love the thrill of the hunt specials wise.... but fresh fruit and veg... just couldn't keep up

it looks good toadfish, I heard there is one similar and the quality of the produce had slipped badly. I love food shopping, esp. markets its clothes shopping I dislike LOL and I know why!

I love our Saturday market in Nelson ... the hustle ... the bustle ... the noise and chatter ... the smiles and friendliness ... the variety of produce and ever increasing range of gluten free offerings ...
A stroll around the market is my favourite part of a Saturday morning - whether I need to buy anything or not.

you are a busy lady, when I was a smoker I was up at the crack of dawn even on a sunday....thinking I was this go getter I didn't need a sleep in.....stopped smoking and realised I was up early because of my addiction!!!!

Thanks Ellie - it looks great doesn't it :)
Have you seen the piano player who busks there? He's very good.
As were the two young ladies playing their harps last Saturday. Simply captivating!
