Had a great day in the garden and a hell time with the neighbours. She yelled at me that she had got rid of her cats. 13 in a day. I doubt it lol. They pulled the barrier down -A put up over our gap in our fence to our orchard so my grandson came over and nailed up trellis until Sil gets home. We will fence that area but we want to get the small digger in first. We will cut the fence up the top and put a gate in there. I feel really sorry for the children as they don't understand. Little J4 asked me why they were yelling at his mummy. My other daughter was here and she really told them off. Nothing like a protective older sister. They do not like the trellis as that gateway is next to theirs. Legally they cannot do a thing. It's nailed up and they cannot remove it lol. I think there will be more tree planting going on in our property for awhile. Ha ha one thing about a large place is that you can plant the neighbours out so to speak. Didn't get inside until dark then rang Mum so 30 mins knitting and I'm off to bed.

It sounds awful having to deal with that. Yesterday was a bit of a weird day. Cooked in the morning, then planted tomatoes and lettuce in the green house, then knitted beanie and bootees to match prem jacket I did during the week. Productive enough but we are both really tired and resting over the weekend just doesn't seem to make a difference.

Yes it is like that sometimes. I rest when I can no longer function lol. I've been weeding again today and cutting back trees at the end of our driveway. My grandson weed eated for us all day. He looked exhausted before he went back to his Mums. Did a great clean up though. I planted more lilies out into the garden and trimmed two Buxus hedges. A bought heaps of vege plants to fill her garden but she worked today so she'll be out there tomorrow ha ha.

Not a great day at work yesterday, had a headache before I left the shop at lunch time which progressively got worse through the afternoon despite taking neurofen regularly. Couldn't leave early as we had staff away so it was 6 before I drove up the drive. Tried Neuromol and they worked, thank goodness, although still feeling a bit fragile this morning. Could have been because we were awake at 3.30 with cats wanting to be fed. Grrrrr......

Jolly cats have a timetable of their own ho ho. Got a visit from the dog ranger today. Our catty neighbours complained about our little foxy being on the driveway without a leash. It's not a public street and he went out there because we were there and he has played with their children for 8 years. Honestly the ranger was really annoyed. Explained the situation and she told me there is no law that states he must be on a leash on a shared driveway. Noted it so they don't waste any more time ho ho. Also told me our By Laws state only 6 cats so to take photos and give her a taste of her own medicine would be on the cards if we were that petty. Absolutely trashing us with a pack of lies on Facebook that a nice person copied and printed for us so now we have been advised to issue an Harrassment Notice. It's all so ridiculous but it's a concern because you never know how vindictive people can be and we can't trust her . Anyway spent the day weeding and spraying. Just weaving now. It's a wonder I haven't had a headache with all the darn stress. Maybe pulling weeds is therapeutic ha ha.

That's what I need then, more gardening. LOL. Although I don't feel stressed too much, I don't think. There's a lot going on at present but isn't there always and I'm not exceedingly worried about any of it. But still this headache up the back of my neck continues. Can't take a break today as the Women's Group has a bus trip then I have a senior staff meeting to set up a timeline till the end of the year. Hopefully I will be able to finish early today. Tomorrow is meeting 10 till 2pm on this side of town so will see if I can not go in to the office at all tomorrow. I think I said that last time. LOL. I spotted a set of dolls clothes on a website over the weekend and nearly bought it but when I looked carefully at the picture I thought it would be just as easy to adapt a basic pattern I already have. I was right, LOL. I have nearly finished the jacket and then have a skirt to do.

You clever girl. Went to do some retail therapy today. Just had to get out. Up at the beach for the night as Sil is home yah!!!! More legal stuff going on grrrrr. Having an early night. In bed already feel jaded. Lol

makerealbany - 2014-10-22 21:25:00
6358

Yep, I was in bed by 9.30 last night too. Struggling to get these headaches under control still. Crazy. Staff meeting went great yesterday, came up with some great ideas for the kids and families for this term across all our services. Such a great team. Told them I'm not going into office today as the meeting is on my side of town. So barring any staff hiccups I will be home just after 2!!! Fingers crossed.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-23 06:39:00
6359

Well was home buy 3 any way so not to bad, but stressed to the max after the meeting. Sigh. I emptied my freezer and turned it off to defrost it while I was at meeting. That turned out to be the highlight of my day. Haha. All I had to do was wipe it out and put the stuff back in. Full day at the office today and have to relieve on one of the programmes later. Off to Blenheim tomorrow.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-24 07:04:00
6360

Have a great time in Blenheim. I am flat out with family and travelling to and fro. No rest for the wicked ha ha. No weaving tonight .

Had a great weekend with Mum and Dad. Both on a change of medications which means Dad can no longer have any citrus fruit at all now and Mum is allowed no alcohol at all. And she is suffering quite severe side affects from the drugs at present which will last about 6 weeks apparently. Awful for them both.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-27 16:07:00
6362

The poor things. Medication side effects can be so debilitating. So glad you had a nice weekend with them. Was thinking of my Dad today. Still miss him. He was a real character. I have been childminding , gardening and mowing lawns. Did not bring my weaving up tonight so I am knitting Christmas Felted Pixie Boots for fun lol. I haven't done any felted items before so it will be an experiment ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-10-27 20:50:00
6363

Good on you for doing something for fun. A bit shattered today after all the travelling. Doing nothing is exhausting sometimes LOL. Back to work today and I. starts at a new company today so he had us up at the crack of dawn because he gets nervous every time he does this. At least I can catch up on housework before leaving I guess.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-28 06:14:00
6364

On my second pair of Pixie Boots in red and green. I'm going to knit another pair and then felt them all. Only got back from my daughters 30 mins ago. It was pouring when I drove home so I was very careful. Lot of idiots around though speeding along. Visibility is difficult in the rain . Off to bed now. It's been a long day .

makerealbany - 2014-10-28 23:45:00
6365

Pixie boots sound cool. Supposed to be taking the Women's Group to a Farm Park today but weather is dodgy again. This is our 3rd try going to this place. I've been going to bed early last couple of nights so not much knitting being done. Working on a baby cardy in blue but not sure if I'm going to have enough wool. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-29 06:54:00
6366

I'm at the beach for 4 days. Lucky I'm minding K. Taking him to school etc. At home my water heater started leaking so I had to turn it off. Sil is left with that problem. I was coming up tomorrow morning but wanted hot shower early in the morning so as I was leaving W rang and when he says to me " I need to ask a favour Mum" I know I'm going to be having T their Moodle. So T came with me. I had his dog crate and all his toys, blankets, food, etc. Teddy and Griff get on so well lol. T is settled, G is settled and I'm off to bed.

Dogs had a fun day. Both asleep lol. Tuggered out Just knitting some Christmas stockings for the dogs and cats now. Everyone is coming here tomorrow night for Haloween. Dress ups lol.

makerealbany - 2014-10-30 21:33:00
6368

I hope your water heater is fixed by the time you come back. What a nuisance. Not sure what happened to my message yesterday but not there now! And I can't even remember what I said LOL. Still working on the cardy but tea is later these days with I.'s new job so not even picking knitting up till nearly 8 and falling asleep by 9! Must be the time of the year. If all goes to plan we will close on 17 Dec and not go back till 12 January. I can't wait and I don't feel like the job's hanging over my head this Christmas. It was just all too new last year.

grizzly4 - 2014-10-31 06:23:00
6369

Yes I bet you are soooooo looking forward to a Christmas break. We had A and S with M6 and J4 up for tea and Trick or treating. They went with S to the neighbours. Luckily we had lots of goodies ourselves because we had at lest 30 children visit lol. My daughter put a sign up Trick or treat visitors most welcome. Dogs are locked up . Ha ha. Parents said it was lovely. We all had a great night and the kids were so excited every time there was a knock on the door. They raced to the door with the bowl of goodies. J was always first and he is the shy one. Fab outfits and face paint. We had a witch, a ninja turtle and a ghoul . Ha ha. They were fascinated by the other costumes. No knitting tonight . Tired but very happy campers all round.

makerealbany - 2014-10-31 23:23:00
6370

Sounds like a lovely family evening. We didn't get any visitors, just as well I'm never prepared. LOL. Good idea putting a sign up. We are moving S into the house round the corner from here this morning. Here's hoping it goes as well as last time although she's brought her moving date ahead and only got the keys yesterday. She won't have done as much herself this time. She mentioned one load of shoes alone!!!!!!

grizzly4 - 2014-11-01 08:29:00
6371

Omg I can imagine you packing and helping S. You will be exhausted and then it's back to work. Nearly finished a Christmas Stocking. Three balls of wool in the pattern so I have to concentrate and can only knit when K is in bed. He went fishing with his Uncle today so I was able to clean the house and do all the linen. 5 beds ugh lol.

makerealbany - 2014-11-01 23:16:00
6372

Making up beds is back-breaking work. We had a morning in the garden yesterday and achieved more than I had planned so a good morning. Wind was so strong down here we changed our afternoon plans for a drive to see BIL from the motor bike to my car. Pity really because it was so hot.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-03 06:21:00
6373

Nice day up here yesterday. Came home last night . Had a shower at my daughters before I left at 11. Plumber to come back today but I'm off again tonight. Another night there, home for a night then back again Wednesday night, home Thursday night then back on Friday night for the weekend. Talk about travelling Nana ho ho. Started another stocking. Feeling Christmassy ha ha

makerealbany - 2014-11-03 08:36:00
6374

Gosh, how long does it take to get the Beach, you must feel like you're living in your car! LOL. Less than a week to our Craft Fair and I'm so wishing it goes well. Feeling a bit stressed about it actually, just hope we've done enough advertising. But even then we can't guarantee people will turn up, I guess.

Drat the weather! We have a trip booked to the Iris Gardens this morning, still going as a Devonshire morning tea is included, but pretty wet down here to browsing the gardens.

Omg I just wrote a large post and my IPad froze. Drat. All good up here. I am going to finish this last stocking tonight lol. That's enough of them. It takes 20 minutes depending on good traffic flow to get here. The fireworks was distracting while driving up. Sky Rockets going off overhead. Everything is growing nicely with the rain we have had. All my cuttings are large enough to plant out. My Christmas Lillie's are thriving.

makerealbany - 2014-11-05 22:39:00
6378

Bucketed down while we were at the Iris Gardens yesterday. Sat by a roaring fire having scones and coffee, braved the torrential rain to browse the gardens then as the sun came out for awhile stopped to shop for a couple for my garden. LOL. A beautiful baby pink one called pond lily and a white one with purple edges (forgot the name). We still had a good time.
The list of tasks is getting longer by the minute. Hopefully the pressure eases once the fair is over on Saturday. But so much to do at work in just a few weeks. Funding, performance appraisals, programme evaluations, end of year activities........ Phew!

grizzly4 - 2014-11-06 06:20:00
6379

Phew is right my girl. I am going to miss a Land AGM back home on Saturday. I so wanted to go but I have K all weekend and he gets carsick so Rotorua is too far. He has also got an invitation to a Birthday Party so I don't want him to miss that. I want to arrange a Play Date for him . He needs to start making friends. Yes all the Christmas Functions are about to start. I just have to pick and choose lol.

makerealbany - 2014-11-06 23:36:00

I had an excellent Supervision session yesterday. Talking about the past year and the changes that have occurred for me along the way, as you do at this time of the year. LOL. When out of the blue something connected to some of the stuff that comes up for me still about the day of the earthquake. Very weird but followed on with the discussion. I was guided through a process and ended up seeing a few things a bit differently. Blew me away after all this time, and I have to say, I'm thankful that after all this time it the healing can still begin. Speaking of healing in a different way you should see the bruise on my arm from a simple blood test on Tuesday morning. Enormous and I thought the GP was quite gentle.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-07 06:41:00
6381

Oops you just reminded me about my blood test that is overdue. I have an appointment for my checkup on Monday so will rush in to the Lab that morning. I'm always getting a rap on the knuckles for forgetting lol. I get so busy and don't keep up with my own tasks. We do bruise easier as we age. My legs are covered in bruises and scratches from gardening, etc. Supervision is really helpful at times. I'm glad it was useful to you. My daughter will not start healing until this legal stuff is over. She just can't move forward . I'm taking K to his first Birthday party outside of our family tomorrow. He's so excited. We have a Family Barbeque tomorrow night so he will be very tired on Sunday. I'm off to bed as it will be an early start again. Have a good weekend.

Craft Fair day today. I am responsible for the baby wear area so my car is chocka. LOL. I so hope it goes well, it's been stressful for a few people involved, not me (yet). I just people to keep coming through the door so we don't let the other stall holders down. Fingers crossed.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-08 06:27:00
6383

Boy, was I tired by last night! Such a good day though, lovely people on the other stalls as well. Could have done with a few more people through the doors but still an excellent first effort.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-09 10:18:00
6384

Well done. My youngest grandchildren had a ball last night sitting on logs on a bank looking across the water and admiring all the fireworks on display. They all slept in this morning. Lol funny day for me. New hot water cylinder kept popping the fuse. Sil had to undo the box on it and turn it down. It was on 70. Darn idiots . Hope that solves the problem. I was just turning on the Hoover and it went. Sil may need to get a stronger circuit breaker . I told him too last Thursday grrrr. Just waiting for my girl and I am off home yah. Long weekend.

makerealbany - 2014-11-09 19:48:00
6385

Yesterday was more relaxing that I thought it was going to be, thank goodness. I caught up some housework, made meals for Monday and Tuesday nights teas. planted new plants plus more veges, had B6 here for the afternoon and got the end of month cheques done. It's a short week here with Friday being our anniversary day and some of the schools are closed for Teacher's Only days on Thursday so our main site is also closed. Means a 4 day weekend for me but so much to get done in the days beforehand. Watching the weather forecast too, as the women's Group have tickets for the A&P Show on Wednesday but they are predicting hail. We can't catch a break on our trip days!

grizzly4 - 2014-11-10 06:20:00
6386

Went to my GP today. She is so cheerful. Then got some Veges and fruit. I only spent $20 and came home with 4 bags lol. Not paying for medication now Bonus ha ha. We planted more trees down the bank, collected more Huhu bugs and planted seeds. J 4 was my helper today lol. Chatting away the whole time. My grandchildren tell me all the news. They do not miss a thing. Rang Mum tonight and she is bright and productive as usual. I did three lines of weaving which is pathetic. No time, maybe tomorrow when K is at school. If I race around like a loon and get the jobs done early I should get some weaving done ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-11-10 22:05:00
6387

LOL, we've ticked over to free prescriptions too. Lasts till about February and then we start again. I almost need to take a recycling shopping bag with me to the chemist, now. If I was picking up I's at the same time I would. It's ridiculous! These latest blood tests better come back ok or I guess there will be more stuff to take. Aging is no fun.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-11 06:18:00
6388

Just finished sewing up 6 projects so I'm on a roll lol. Mowed lawns today and then came inside and fell asleep. T had the day off today so I dropped K at school and came home. When I woke up I felt full of energy ha ha. Cooked Stir Fry Tofu for tea and started sewing up. My feet are swelling again by about 4 . Yes ageing can be a right pain.

makerealbany - 2014-11-11 23:37:00
6389

A couple of difficult meetings out of the way yesterday, so huge sigh of relief. Not raining at present but has been over night. My new plants are grateful but I need it to hold off now till I get these women back at lunch time. We just love going to the A & P Show. There's 16 of us going this morning. I'm really struggling getting a wee cardy done. I keep falling asleep in the evenings, LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-12 06:35:00
6390

I spent the day cleaning ugh don't know where the dust comes from. My Sil's Dad is very ill in Wellington hospital so he flew out yesterday but A and the children are flying out tomorrow morning. I have to take K to school, race home and take them to the Airport then I have to let the dogs out etc, drive back up to Orewa, pick up K after school, take him to swimming lessons, then take him home and bath, feed him, etc. As soon as I get him to sleep I will catch up on washing etc until his Mum gets home then drive home and let the dogs out, feed them and the cats and collapse in a heap ha ha. I'll take K home for the weekend as T is working both days but I'll have to take his dog as well. The three dogs will have a fun weekend.

makerealbany - 2014-11-12 22:21:00
6391

Wow, that's even more full on than usual. I had a great morning at the A&P Show yesterday and we were just getting on the bus to leave when the bad weather arrived so great timing. Went out for dinner last night with friends for my birthday which was pleasant but the Italian restaurant we love going to usually looks as if it's changed hands and it's become more of a kiwi pub menu. Such a shame. I have a 4 day weekend now, so I'm off to spend birthday vouchers this morning.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-13 06:47:00
6392

Happy Birthday. Another year. Where has it gone? I just got A and the children to the Airport and it poured down. I detest driving in that awful weather. Both dogs are snoring lol. Jed is asleep on my bed and my daughters cat is on my porch. She won't come inside when old cranky Jed is in. No surprise there. Ha ha. I'm still sewing up garments. It's funny how you make things and put them aside to put off the sewing up lol. I got more potting soil today as well because I have plants to pot as pressies. We are doing the surprise parcel for the Adults and grandchildren over 18 so we all have to buy or make one present each. Just have to agree on an amount. We have never done it before but think it will be fun and a lot cheaper. Of course we are still giving Presents to the little ones. So the 6 of them will still get spoilt rotten ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-11-13 23:55:00
6393

Sounds like we are all tightening our belts around Christmas this year. I found some little things for reasonable prices for Christmas stockings yesterday. First time I've been able to browse shops for ages. Lovely day. Came home by lunch time to watch DVD and knit (and nap). LOL.

Really enjoyed the final of the Block NZ last night. I heard this morning that the winners have gifted some of their winnings to the last place getters. That's a lovely gesture. Not sure whether we are going out to the river with the bikes this afternoon as it's so windy or I could use my Grab One voucher and take the 3 boys to Chipmunks instead where S and I can have coffee! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-15 10:42:00
6395

I spent the morning fighting the wind to plant out three trees I had in pots. Needless to say they were root bound ugh. The pots were really large and I had to slowly cutaway roots because I wanted to make sure I didn't crack my pots lol. K5 played with the dogs and helped me pot out the Christmas Lillie's into larger pots. Didn't realize how many I had. I have some in the garden but I like to move the pots around. We had just finished and cleaned up and it poured down . It rained all afternoon so that was that. Baking tomorrow morning. K has all his favourites . Recipe books are on the table where he left them . " May as well be ready Nana " he says. He's got the eggs out and the butter " cause they have to be room temperature " ha ha. He's such a Mini Me. That was nice of the winners. Glad they won.

6396

Did the Chipmunks thing with the boys yesterday while I. and our son S. went out on the bikes. Not getting away with it this morning, though, LOL. Off out to the river to get my bike dirty for the first ride of the season.

grizzly4 - 2014-11-16 08:15:00
6397

Not much of a ride yesterday. I.'s bike broke part of the axle within the first half hour and after he took mine through a muddy part of the river, I pretty much gave up. Now the search is on for the right parts to fix his, it's such a nuisance as we were hoping to get the last of the parts we needed to finish the trailer this week. Couldn't keep my eyes open much during the afternoon after all that fresh air, LOL, but went for a walk after tea which kept me going till I could finish a matinee jacket for the shop. Back to work today after a lovely weekend. A month and I'm off for 3 weeks. Can't wait!

grizzly4 - 2014-11-17 06:17:00
6398

Woohoo holiday time. Wish I was having one lol. Drove to the Airport to get A,S and the children. They are worn out after their trip. S's Dad started his new treatment today but it may not work. S is in a right state and he has to leave tomorrow for PNG. It's so hard but we all know how really ill people go in their own time. You cannot stop doing the normal things when someone is really close to the end because you just never know when that will be. Being told it could be in the next hour or it could be in 3 months reinforces the knowledge that even the experts do not know. It is also hard when one parent decides to be a gatekeeper of knowledge and does not let the adult children know all the facts. After all it is their parent who they live too. A said it was like a circus with so many people calling into the house and the hospital. S and his brothers found it hard to get time for them to just sit with their Dad. When you do not live there time is so precious. They are all exhausted physically and emotionally. I had tea with them after spending time with M6 teaching her how to knit. We had to pick up dropped stitches lol. She is very determined. J4 was content to sit and watch. I felted those stockings ugh. What a job. They took ages to shrink and in the end I threw them in the dryer ha ha. Up at my other girls. Big changes at her job so she has to work Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Hopefully not Thursday or Fruday. What a shame about the axle!!!! Hobbies can be expensive and frustrating at times.

makerealbany - 2014-11-17 22:41:00
6399

Very funny about trying to shrink those stockings. How easy is it to shrink something when it's the last thing you want to happen? LOL. Ankles are a bit sore today. I. and I have decided to go for a walk each evening, partly because of the stress thing and partly because of the weight we have both put on over winter. Last night was our second night and it's quite fun planning where we'll go each time. Hope it does some good. I'm working on dolls clothes again. I picked up some cheap acrylic in a new shop that opened up in our local mall. Variegated fleuro lemon and pink. Good grief, what was I thinking?! LOL.

Sounds very colourful ha ha. I worked on the Kakahu today but it's hopeless at night here. My daughter has really lousy lights for crafting. They are set up high in the ceiling and are really dull. Went to try and but Meal Worms for the Bearded Dragon and had no luck. Animates keep saying they are on order and making inane excuses so it's salad for her until I get home to find more Huhu grubs. They have a BD in the shop and they say they are desperate now mmmmm. Might try a search on line. My daughters new IPhone 6 has gizmo which measures how far she walks in a day so tomorrow she's going to see what the K's are . It will be interesting. I do enjoy walking when my feet are not swollen.
