Hello All,
I have not felt like posting of late, just been really down.
I had a fall last night,my knee has been giving out on me,not sure what is happening there.
It is becoming cold here, but I guess that is winter and have to put up with it.
I really would like to retire from my job, It is getting too heavy, but the timing is not right yet.
Had a big disappointment last week, we signed up for a house ,but was turned down, there is another around the corner, atm hubby won't do anything, he has been so hurt.
It will all turn out, in its on timing, just have to believe.
I am sorry I am so down, have been staying away because of it.
Another day just beginning, so all will be good.
Have a wonderful day all, and Motorbo thank you for asking about me, I was told I was needed in here lol.

Hasnit it been beautiful. Got to love Autumn. I have had a fabulous Mothers Day, I am what John Kirwan would say an active relaxer. Had brekkie made for me then went on to wet and forget all our paths, made chilli con carne. For a dinner for 8 on Wednesday, 2 cottage pies, 1 for the freezer and 1 for tommorrow night. Pita pizzas for everyones lunch and delicious. Roast chicken for a family dinner. Busy day alright .-

Hello all,
Yes it is very cold here, but beautiful days.
I have been off work since beginning of June, tore cartilage in knee.
I twisted my knee when lifting clothes basket outside.
I can not go back to work in my old job,as it is too heavy, and my knee is locking up badly.
I have an appointment on Friday to see surgeon.
All will be well,as I have gained another small part time job in the mornings, but not for another 2 weeks or so.
Hope you are all well, and enjoying life.

I haven't been on here even lurking for several weeks now and it is great to see everyone still supporting one another and having a virtual 'chat over the fence' as it would be. I am going through a very recent, unexpected separation from my husband and the grief had gotten the better of me. It's still raw but even though I was never a big time contributor here I felt like part of a circle of friends. Not really sure what else to say, but take care of yourselves and keep enjoying the circle.

I have been where you are now, time does heal.
It took me 18 months to come right, you will have good days and bad days, soon there will be more good days then bad days.
Thinking of you xx

rema, this "safe house" thread is not as important as it once was, because Recipes is a happy place all over and you can chat comfortably in any thread ;-)

Big hugs Erica.
I stopped contributing so much when we had that rash of nastiness - made me feel quite exposed to know "bizarre and nasty" people were lurking and reading my every word. Guess I need to toughen up and not let them bother me.
I always lurk but rarely post here anymore.... will try better from now on. :)

Love my new home of 14 months - so cosy in winter. We have a wood burner downstairs with a flue running through upstairs where we sleep so we are toasty warm and the house isn't huge so heats nicely.

Brilliant. I bet you would not want to go back to town now? LOL Our move back rural gets closer every day so watch this space.

lol it's quite funny, when I go into town where we used to live even though its only 10 mins from where we are now I feel sorry for everyone who lives so close to each other - this just feels so right. The chickens are a delight. We are getting 4 eggs a day and they love there cuddles and run after me wherever I go. Life is good :)

they will have to carry us out in a box lol. I want a veggie patch but can't until hubby fences it off. Chickens eat everything and anything lol. You should see what's left of my dizzy lizzies in the pots by my front door. But I love my girls.

Hi everyone,

I feel like I've just bumped into a group of friends I haven't seen in a long while and now have a big smile on my face & warm fuzzies inside.

Sorry to read your news Erica - I hope things become easier with time.

I've been facing some on-going health challenges recently & have now been diagnosed with IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) so making some big changes in my life food-wise.
I'll be seeing a naturopath soon as I'm not at all keen on all the pills I've been prescribed!
In the mean time I've given up gluten, caffeine, alcohol & all 'manufactured' foods while my system sorts itself out. Looking forward to seeing some weightloss out of this lol.
Otherwise all good here in sunny Nelson. Very quiet at work now but still a few tourists coming through all wanting to enjoy the Abel Tasman.
Keep warm all ... big hugs xx

Sorry to hear about your IBS - I read up on it a while ago as I thought Miss 20 may have it ~ in fact I think she probably has to a certain extent but things seem to have settled down a bit. Hope your change in diet brings some relief . We just had an hour and a half without power. Thoroughly enjoyed Rummikub by torchlight.

Winnie, good on you for being proactive in getting yourself sorted. No cider for you!

Lol - Pamela, we had quiz night at the Sprig & Fern last night and I always go in early to get us a table. It was certainly different sitting in my fav pub for 4 hours with no alcohol! Happily they make a very nice ginger beer.

Ellie - the big green buses don't come into the i-SITE so no extra business for us. Good to know that the backpackers are still out there though :)

Toady - rummicub by candlelight sounds like fun. Might be a good idea to invest in some camping lights for next time ...

Hi to anyone else who's around ....
have a happy day!
