Had a good day today. After dropping J at Preschool came home and did our washing. Hoovered both places, washed my car, coloured my hair and then took my car up to Silverdale to get the front light fixed. Took 10 mins to fix. I was really pleased about that. Didn't charge me either. T and I walked up to the school to get K. I had a cuppa and then K and I played awhile. Left and went to Albany to use my voucher A gave me and had a Pedicure and Manicure. It included Getting my nails polished. Came home feeling like a new women. Lol. Son is struggling still. It has had a huge impact on us all. Got one side of tea cosy done. No knitting tonight. Phone calls to Mum. I have a sis in hospital. She just had rods put in one foot. She is still in a lot if pain. My Dils Mum had it done a few years ago. Both feet at the same time. Took her months to walk. Washed the blanket today. It dried very quickly. I was worried about the bright pink but it was fine phew.

Very productive day for you!! I'm up to the yolk on the matinee jacket and getting heaps done at work but always heaps waiting for me as well. LOL. I. has been cooking the most amazing meals for me to come home to this week. It's been lovely but I wish this foot thing would fix itself for him.

Yay it's Saturday! How are you feeling today, makerealbany and your family? B6 is on his way for the morning so his Mum can go to work for a few hours. Then not sure what's happening. Going to make chicken pie for tea but not sure how big it needs to be yet. LOL.

Very chilly here this morning. I'm nearly up to par lol. Kids are all ok but daughter still sick. Lots of legal issues going on in two directions sigh. My daughter liked the blanket and tea cosy. Told me another work colleague, not a friend told her she would look at my work and then decide if she wanted me to crochet one for her. My daughter told me the cheeky women said it to her in the staff room. She had great satisfaction in telling her " Mum only makes items for family and very close friends. " lol. I started another cardi for myself. Got the back done so I am on a roll. Ha ha. Forgot all about the Internet yesterday. I had the boys until 1 and then I went outside for awhile. The sun is coming out. Lovely. I have to sweep my back paths and pots need sorting. That is lovely that I is cooking up a storm.

Great day in the garden today. Daughter is cooking me dinner so I can relax now lol. Soil is very wet. Weeding was a mission. I have about 10 ceramic dolls that I was saving for M but she is not keen. Today I stripped all the clothes off and hand washed them. There is damage to one girls leg but other than that all ok. Might just sell them. Only about 20years old. Used to have them on display but no room now haha. Still warm here.

Chilly wind down here the last few days. WAs supposed to go to the market yesterday and give out leaflets about the Craft Fair but it was wet first thing and then went to buy the timber to do some maintenance at work and by then we had visitors, one of which brought his chain saw with him so good-bye cabbage trees!!!! Yahoo My next project is now a blank canvas waiting for me to get started. I also finished my matinee set for shop today and the book I've been reading. Cooked a curry for tonight's tea, baked some bakewell tarts and cheese and bacon pinwheels for our lunches. Very productive day. I. is back to work today so fingers crossed his new orthotics work.

Trouble with baking is it disappears overnight! LOL. For someone that says he's not into sweet stuff he sure empties cake tins in record time! LOL. But his foot was really bad driving that truck again yesterday. I really don't know what to do next to help him. I have started a cardy in fairisle to use up some bits of wool. Boy the colours are bright, I almost need sunglasses to knit. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-08-26 06:39:00
6258

Bright is good lol. I knitted another tea cosy yesterday and have to make two more. Cardi on hold ha ha. My daughters cleaner is English and she loves tea cosies. Two legal battles on different fronts looming closer so stress levels high for my daughter and my son. Sigh. Never mind hopefully one case will be finalised this month. A just rang and a lady rolled into her car on the way to school. Kids were very excited. Yelling in the background if the car phone. Only a scratch but still inconvenience of not having it whilst it is being repaired. Mum rang at 11 last night to talk lol. Cleaner just rang her car won't start. Oh dear one of those days. It's lovely and the sun is out so I'm going to get my old overalls on and spray.

Reasonable weather done here, too and I so want to be at home in the garden! Oh well we're into the middle of the week already, here's hoping the weather stays nice for the weekend, although we have some maintenance work to do at work on Sunday. Sigh. Wee cardy going well LOL. Almost finished the 2nd front.

6260

Well the sun was out but now it's vanished. I have been doing my daughters ironing. Three hours. Lol time for a rest. I had to get the washing in and toss it in the dryer. Another tea cosy done last night. Mum wants one now mmmmm. She'll most likely use it as a dust collector because she puts a tea bag in a cup. My sis who just had the rods put in her feet wants one and she does use a teapot. Got a book from the library with lots of fab patterns for tea cosies. Only thing I have to use 8ply doubled. I've got chunky somewhere ha ha. Mum also saw a toilet roll cover with a doll in a knitted dress. She loves knick knacks. I'm going to iron for one more hour and then I have to go pick J up. A is working about an hour and a half away. Traffic can be lousy. It's only 10 mins away. A moved him from the country Preschool. It's still Montessori but right next door to Ms school so much easier and closer. T not back at work until Fri so I'm having a great break ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-08-27 14:20:00
6261

Traffic not great down here either at present. I was having a good run to and from work for a while but now there seems to be even more cones and road works. They get the structural work underneath done, sort it out, we get all our lanes back and then the cones are out again so they can reseal it! THEN 2 or 3 weeks later they dig up the same spot again for major work! Goodness knows how they plan these things. And of course where they're not doing repair work they are laying the high speed broadband cables so the cones are out anyway. LOL. When all this started 4 years ago everyone moved through the cones at 20 or 30 kms, now we are all so good at slalom courses we only slow from 50 if an orange vest person is close to where we are driving. Not called workers as the 'worker' is in the hole doing whatever it is and the rest are spectating or maybe deliberating the next step. Takes a long time and a lot of them. LOL.

6262

It's amazing who works out what with the roads lol. They are always patching the back road I travel on. Two years ago they did the whole road now it's coming to grief so patching. Same in our street. They dig it up put pipes in, trucks coming and going all day. They put the 30 k sign neAr our letterbox so the postie has to struggle a bit even though the mailbox is high, idiots. I moved it one day lol. Up at Ts now. She's off to work tomorrow.

Well Sil came home very I'll. he has high fevers and is vomiting. He had to fly from PMG to Australia to sit exams on the way home. As I'll as he was he passed his exams and flew home. I'm at at Orewa, so I had both boys today as A and M had two games of netball. He may have Malaria dash it all. Well know tomorrow. Lousy weather up here. A great day to stay inside. J has been picked up and K is going to bed in 5 mins then I will relax and knit ho ho. Hope everything is ok with you.

6264

Hi there, just a bit busier than usual although I thought I'd posted a message on FRiday. LOL. Can't remember what I said though. I. worked yesterday taking a truck down to Timaru so I went with him. It was a good day out and when we got back we did the maintenance jobs needed at my work. Knackered today. Only thing I have to do is sew on buttons on the cardy and photograph it to show you to give you a laugh. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-08-31 11:02:00
6265

That would have been nice going for a long drive with I. I'm getting sick of knitting tea cosies ha ha.. T worked again today so K and I had a quiet day. He is into dinosaurs so it was a dinosaur day lol. I had to stop knitting and play Dinosaur games, etc. I was allowed to knit while he ate his fresh scones and bickies ha ha.

How those colours! Won't lose the child that wears it! LOL.
I couldn't shake a headache yesterday and slept most of the afternoon. A bit of a waste of a day and now it's back to work. I'm working on an order for the shop this week - a matinee jacket to match the beanie she has already bought. It's a nice pattern to knit starting from the neck and working down with leaves round the yolk and the rest in garter stitch. I've already done the yolk and starting on the first sleeve.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-01 06:34:00
6267

That is beautiful you clever girl. I love that pattern. Where did you get it from? I looked after little J3 today. My daughter was taking him to Preschool and he threw up everywhere . Anxiety as his father is still sick and is impossible. Why is it when a woman is sick, she has to cope, feeding and tending her children, working, household chores and everything else. When some men are sick they are worse than children, frustrated and downright useless and nasty. Grrrr. My poor daughter. She looks forward to when he comes home but then ,,,,,,,,,,, I'm up at Orewa tonight. Got my knitting lol. Baked today and brought cookies up for K's lunches. Told me to hide them from his big brother ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-09-01 21:10:00
6268

Sick children everywhere! And I agree the men are hardest to look after. LOL. I made the pattern up years ago from something I saw that was similar but it had wee pictures of animals etc instead of geometric designs. I hate referring to a pattern all the time so this one is done off the top of my head. Used to make them all the time but sewing in the ends becomes a drag and I moved on to different styles for a break.
I have a morning of job interviews this morning and need to read their applications again before then.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-02 06:38:00
6269

Good luck with that grizzly ha ha. I do not miss all that work. You are right when you use so many colours it is a pain sewing in the ends. Washing out. Nice day up here so far. Fingers crossed. I have a Banana cake to make as soon as I finish steam leaning the bathrooms and kitchen. One bonus about my cottage only one bathroom ha ha. I have two tea cosies to stitch up and then I have another blanket in spring colours to make.

makerealbany - 2014-09-02 12:52:00
6270

I hope they've given you larger balls of wool for the blanket this time! LOL. The matinee jacket has come out a bit smaller so doing another one now in the next size up for the order. Will do a wee beanie and bootees to go with the first and they can go in the shop on Monday. The Women's Group is going to the Cupcake Collection today for morning tea. They do the most beautifully decorated cupcakes I have ever seen. It's always a treat going there.

4 years today since the first big 'quake! Funnily enough we were up at exactly the same time this morning as I. has an early job this morning. LOL. Boy, such a lot has happened since then - so many changes and yet so many people are still living in limbo, still waiting for decisions, still waiting for action, still waiting to recover. I. might have Been the one having to go to work early but it's me that still has to be up to have my shower and get dressed before he goes............just in case. I still park my car away from buildings and never use a car park building now. If I have to go into a mall I always let I. know when I'm going to be there and there's only 2 malls I will venture into and never browse now. I still have a whole cupboard full of tinned food and 100 litres of water stored through out the house and in the garage. I always make sure my phone is fully charged before I leave in the morning and never let the petrol in my car get less than half a tank. And I'm not the only one.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-04 06:14:00
6272

You are doing ok grizzly. If I had been through what you have been through I would be the same. I always have a larder full, water, torches, etc, etc. I haven't even been in an Earthquake but some scary Typhoons when I worked in the Pacific taught me to always be prepared. My kids think I'm psychotic about the petrol in my car lol. I always charge my phone as well. I also have heaps of candles, matches, lighters. My First Aid Kit in my car is always checked and refilled. Everyone but myself have used it lol. I keep stocks of toothpaste and spare toothbrushes as well as two bathroom packs. People are funny. Some believe in Emergency Preparedness and others just laugh. Then again some families struggle to make ends meet and can't afford to put anything away. Yes these are big balls of wool. I'm over the smaller balls lol. Ok for tea cosies or dolls clothes. Mum has her eye on this toilet roll dolls dress. Mmmmm I'm hoping to get to see her within the week. Just got to fit it in with T's work schedule. Also have to wait until the swelling goes down in my back and feet. Had to take my rings off again grrrrr. Be ok in a day or two. Just the usual rigmarole. Have to wear slippers most of the time. I baked some cupcakes yesterday. K just lives home made baking. Don't know where he puts it all. Even his older brother is as lean as a pole. They eat and eat but very fast metabolisms. Eat often too. I just look at the baking and pounds jump on my hips lol.

makerealbany - 2014-09-04 20:37:00
6273

I'm right there with you about the baking. LOL.
This week has just flown by.....I'm over this maintenance stuff at work. It seems that the minor repairs to our creative space/playground are the least of my worries! I need to replace the floor in the boys toilet, find out where water is coming in from outside (something to do with the pipes in through the concrete block wall and there must also be a leak in the ceiling above the girl's toilet as well because there is a wee hole that is increasing. Now I need a plumber as well because on of the drains is blocked. Grrrrr. I've been trying to get a builder to come and check out the work to be done and do a quote but they are all so busy no-one ever turns up. If I can't get a builder not sure what I'm going to do, it's more than a DIY job.
I've finished the 2 matinee jackets, now have a cardigan to finish for a lady expecting her first grandchild. She started it and then broke her arm. Baby due this weekend.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-05 06:59:00
6274

OMG! Took all the pieces out to sew up the ladies cardy to find I had to reknit from the armholes up on the back and both fronts! Different mistakes on each piece but supposed to be raglan and the back had 28 rows of straight knitting before she started the decreasing. Reknitting all done and now I can start sewing up and doing the bands. She would have been so disappointed when she came to finish it this weekend for the baby. B6 stayed over last night but was pretty tired as his school has had swimming lessons all week. Really knocks them out. The other two's school had a fortnight just before that and we really noticed the different energy levels at the after school programme. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-06 09:12:00
6275

That lady is so lucky you are on board lol. Sometimes you just make silly mistakes. Brought K home last night, put him into bed and he threw up all over the place. Poor little mite. After I had changed the sheets and bathed him he slept all night. Bright as a button this morning. I have been resting as much as possible. Both legs still swollen. A came over after M6s netball in which she won her medal for best player of the season. K ran off with his Aunty and cousins and I went to sleep. S came and got his pjs and toothbrush about an hour ago because he's spending the night there. They all really miss each other during the school term. I have 4 tea cosies to sew up for Chrussy presents and this blanket to do but I'm knitting myself a black beanie with an Ostrich rim tonight. My old one has gone walkabout. Think I lent it to a granddaughter. Speaking of which J 19 got her Internship at two Helicopter Companies near Queenstown so she is doing well. Coming home in a month to visit and see a concert. She rang today. She has been ringing me a lot to say hello which is so nice. K loves telling his big sister all the news and dobbing his brothers in for anything and everything ha ha. He has swimming next week so he will be shattered at night.

makerealbany - 2014-09-06 19:34:00
6276

Is J going to the Justin Timberlake concert next month? Daughter S. flies up to that one too. She's really looking forward to it. Was very stressed by the end of last week because so many different things had to be sorted at work and then received a complaint letter from one of the parents. It hung over me all weekend so between that and B6 being here lots over the weekend I feel shattered before I even get started. Huge week ahead and the letter to deal with as well. Sigh. Quite impressed with how much knitting I got done over the week though, 2 matinee jackets, 1 with matching beanie and bootees and the wee cardy finished for the customer. I'm just going to work on bootees this week and build up some pretty colours for spring. Although I have bought the cotton to knit my cardy. Yippee. I've noticed though that you start knitting stocking stitch straight away after casting on. I am very worried that it will always roll up as there is only one cable on each front. the peplum back has quite a wide panel of cables so that may be ok. What do you think? Should I just 2 a couple of rows rib just in case?

grizzly4 - 2014-09-08 06:51:00
6277

Yes I would. I knitted myself a jersey and it rolled up. Drove me nuts. Only wore it once. I am going to undo it lol. I rested all day yesterday. My foot is much better today and the swelling in my legs has gone. Yippee. Had to drive up at 6 as my girl forgot she had a study day today. My son saw his daughter on Sunday and they had a lovely time. Little E was so excited. She had a grin on her face the whole time. So sad I don't know when I will get to see her. Only a short visit. Now lives in another town . Windy here which is great for the washing. I put the blanket aside and knitted myself a vest lol. Just knitting the collar and bands for the front. It's more of a short sleeve buttonless cardi. Should finish it tonight. Too busy today. I need a housework gnome. Don't we all?

makerealbany - 2014-09-08 13:06:00
6278

Yep that would be good. Tuesday mornings are my vacuum and toilet bathroom days before I go to work as well as the usual dishes, laundry, make the bed etc. LOL. If I get time before I leave I will have to start the financial report for the shop meeting on Thursday night. It's easier to split the chores over each morning then I get the weekend free. (Sometimes). Once daylight saving starts and we recover from it being darker again first thing I'll get out in the garden for half an hour or so as well. The beauty of getting up early.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-09 06:40:00

Phew, got through yesterday, Interviews done for one organisation in the morning, candidate pulled out of her interview in the afternoon for one of our programmes, still having to find relievers for a couple of days this week, actually got my PAYE summary done, 4 hour meeting on Thursday cancelled. Women's group this morning and they are making terracotta birds nest creations for Christmas, then I have a staff meeting to organise. I'm tired already. Love coming home to MKR and The Block and knitting bootees.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-10 06:52:00
6280

Lol. I get tired just reading what you are doing. Went to the Library, etc today with little J3 . What fun ho ho. It is amazing how dirty windows get in Winter. All the Pine dust from the trees sticks to the windows. I spend ages cleaning the jolly things. I received that wool for thE blanket and they sent me two 100 grm balls as a free sample. Very nice. I had to undo my collar on my vest as it didn't sit right. Sigh. So did one side but have to finish the other. I'm up to the beach tonight so I might not finish it. I need more time. Lol hope I won't be still doing this in 10 years time.

makerealbany - 2014-09-10 15:31:00
6281

I hope you're not either, or me. That's why I'm spending so much time on this extra project at work trying to build resiliency for the future so I can walk away without looking back at some point. I believe our governance team deserve more in terms of skill development during their time with us and I'm spending half an hour per week with our administrator teaching her part of my job. No I'm not planning on leaving any time soon but the last 4 years down here as definitely taught me not to trust what might come tomorrow. My knitting is limited today as I have a shop meeting tonight. Sigh. Now there's an organisation that would struggle if the treasurer left. LOL. Heads in the sand stuff definitely going on there. Boy, this week seems incredibly long.....

grizzly4 - 2014-09-11 06:49:00
6282

Just got home. I have started my chicken curry for tea so should eat in 30 minutes. Not ideal lol but did not feel like food when I fed the boys. C passed his latest exam for his Floor Sanding Apprenticeship which is great considering his Short Term Memory Loss after that horrific Coma etc nearly 4 years ago. K 5 his little brother is on reading Level 13 and the rest of the children are on Level 3. Luckily his teacher is great and keeps challenging him. He is very bright but very shy. We don't want him going up classes because the older children are into more mature things. C had mates of 18 when he was only 16 because they put him up classes. It was not easy. I left my IPad charger and my knitting at my daughters. Don't know where my head was lol. She'll bring them tomorrow. Hope your meeting goes ok.

makerealbany - 2014-09-11 20:43:00
6283

It was a good day yesterday. Lots achieved at work and at the meeting. I've just found a benefit of S. being a Property Manager! LOL. She has a builder and he has agreed to help me out at work, too. Thank goodness. Had to get a drain cleared yesterday as well but apparently a pipe could be broken closer to the road. Funny that because that's where the road rose up in a big ridge during the February e/quake. Trouble is the break is on Council land but to prove it we have to pay for a video of the drain!. I think I'll wait and see for that as it's the first blockage in many years. It's all so expensive, this maintenance stuff. It's ok having a budget for it but if I spend it not sure how we're going to have a maintenance budget in the future. LOL. I even knitted a bootee before going to work, sitting in the sun at 7am.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-12 07:05:00
6284

Sigh it's raining here today. I had so hoped to get the compost on my garden today and start the new project where the cabbage trees have been removed. Oh well, will do the vacuuming that I didn't have time for yesterday then I will just have to knit.......LOL.....or read my book. I have been reading a few books by Lesley Pearse lately and really enjoying them.

Well what a night last night. A and S went out to a school do. They had to dress up for the Mad Hatters TeaParty. Looked fab and had great face paint. Left lots of pink feathers around though. Anyway T came to help me feed, bath and get M6, K5 and J 3 into bed. T had to work today. Got J asleep and M and K were nearly asleep so T went home. I got my knitting out and boom a transformer up the road blew. M and K cried out so I got the torches and let the candles. Settled the kids down and sat watching the fire flames with my aching feet up lol. Two hours later power was back on. twenty minutes later boom off again. That time J woke up yelling " I'm busting Nana where's the light. After I took him to the toilet and got him back to bed, I had to sit with him until he went back to sleep. When their parents came home covered in body paint as well as face paint they were shocked to find out they couldn't have long hot showers lol. I went to bed in my cottage without an electric blanket. I was so tired I fell asleep quickly. Woke up at 6 to blazing lights. I'm knitting tonight now. k is asleep and I have everything ready in case the power goes out again . Must go boil the kettle. Electric blanket on warming the bed lol.

makerealbany - 2014-09-13 20:11:00
6286

What a nightmare of an evening! I hate waking up to lights being on, we used to always turn everything off each time the power went off after a 'quake and we'd give up on waiting for it to come back on and go to bed. Yesterday was a lazy day because it just got wetter and colder. Sun shining today and it looks as if we might be going to finish some more of the maintenance stuff at work. Jinx threw up on the carpet and the spare bed last night so I have bedding to wash first. Grrrr. She has figured out how to open the green waste bins we all have down here and scavenges the food scraps! Most of it doesn't agree with her and we cop the lot. No idea how to stop her, it's part of her dementia, I think. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-09-14 10:33:00
6287

Busy day yesterday made up for lazy day on Saturday. LOL. Bought more timber and did more maintenance at work. Well I. did while I worked in the office. LOL. Then I went plant shopping and started work on the new garden by the back door where the cabbage trees were. I started then I. took over the hard bit. I have put in a fuchsia and 3 azaleas and cut back the rose that was there already. Still places for a few bedding plants. We then spread compost around rhubarb and through glass house. Phew a bi overpowering in there now! LOL. My lettuce seedlings are up and I have started beans in little pots in the glass house as well as courgettes and pumpkin. I have seeds for carrots, radishes, spring onions and beetroot still to go. Also finished another pair of bootees. They look so pretty in spring colours.

Oh they are cute. Bedlam here. The tradesmen are here to replace the floors etc after the flooding of the house. Men and trucks everywhere. It was hectic moving everything early this morning. We went out yesterday for J's 12th Birthday to Timezone. Lol great fun for the kids. Then some of them had to rush over an hour away so he could see little E for two hours. Came home knackered and then it was all go this morning. I have to take P to the vet for his shots as he has to go in the kennels with the new puppy or she will fret. A and S have to stay at a motel until work is finished. Have a happy day. I'll be meditating a lot today lol

Grrr you would not believe it. I was filthy dirty covered with dust after moving stuff outside and trying to tidy up. Came in for a shower at 3 no darn power. They just put it back on. Honestly this area is so bad. We are all signing a petition, everyone is fed up. I'm cooking tea first, I've boiled the jug and am going to jump in the shower as soon as Ihave cooked my tea. Have to leave here at 5 tomorrow morning so need to sort out things tonight.

Would you believe? SAME HERE!!!! No power till after 8.30pm. There was a broken cable apparently and there 6 of us affected plus a church and the Vets. We went to McDonalds for tea which was yuck but couldn't cook and had no heating. I spent the evening wrapped in a duvet reading by torchlight, listening to the security alarm beeping 'cos there was no power going to it. LOL. Was about to go to bed when they knocked on the door to say it was fixed. Thank goodness.

It's just not on lol. I went to bed at 10 than woke at 1.30. That will teach me for going to bed early. I dozed off and on, got up at 4.30, had a shower and drove up. It's raining so washing going through the dryer again. Power bills are so costly but what can you do. Forgot to bring my knitting but my daughter has a blanket on the go so will knit that for her. I have to knit tighter as my tension is looser than hers and she only has two sizes of needles ha ha.

I'm doing dolls clothes for a change this week. Taking the Women's Group to Fudge Cottage this morning to watch it being made and of course have a taste. Yummy!

I love Fudgemmmm. Had a haircut today. Last night I knocked the drivers side mirror on my car and broke it. Sigh. Was putting the washing basket back into the car. S can't fix it yet. He has so many cars booked in. My grandson taped it up until then. I knitted a belt for my cardi today. Just been doing more on the blanket. I liked the photos on Facebook. I rarely go on there now. Too busy lol.

Updating stuff for the shop is about my only contact with Facebook. I was even asked by a govt dept and another community organisation to be friends on facebook!!!!! I don't think so. I told them out right I had deleted their request because I don't go with using it as a work 'thing'. I know they keep saying it would be private messaging and all that but once friends they can still access all the stuff friends and family put on there that I'm not necessarily supporting their views. How can they not form an opinion about me based on that? No thank you.
I've finished a dolls top and pants, now working on an aran coat and fingers crossed I have enough wool because I have no idea where I got it from. LOL.
Your poor car.

Yes you are right about Facebook. I have been using King Cole wool I bought through Deramores for a cardi for myself. When Stitched up the sleeves the wool came apart three times. It never happened knitting the cardi . I just kept undoing the sewing until It didn't break apart. It's a 10 ply. Maybe there was a flaw in that ball. Grrrr. I found some cute patterns for dolls clothes. Thought I'd knit a few things for M and little E and put them away for Christmas. M still puts her crocheted quilt on her dollies cot. On top of the little quilt I sewed for it lol. One is in pinks and the other is lime green with Winnie the Pooh all over it. Tried to tell her one set at a time but no. Lol. She loves bright colours.

That's very cute! Sigh, no granddaughters. However B7 came to me yesterday in my office and asked if I could do him a favour when he stays over on Saturday. "Nana, can you knit a coat for our cat Nismo? and can you make it black and white so he doesn't notice it?" Yep, he's a black and white cat. I love that boy to bits but hopefully he forgets by Saturday (one doesn't like to say 'NO' outright, does one?) Went looking in Lincraft for wool similar to the navy I'm knitting the dolls coat in. Miracle of miracles I found the exact yarn. Yippee.

It's been a hard week this week. For the first time I've had to come down quite hard on staff, I guess we've done really well till now but there were 3 thoughtless occasions (3 different people) that just can't happen again and I had to make that clear. To all our credit we coped with it ok and there have been highlights in the week regarding these working relationships over and above the difficult times. But I am very glad it's the weekend, even though I have to work in the shop today. Still working on the dolls aran coat, boy, it's a lot of work for something that small.

Yes it can be a lot of work lol. It is not easy coming down on staff but it has to be done. Don't miss those days ha ha. I had both boys today but only have K5 tonight. They wear me out ha ha. Did B7 ask about Nismos coat ? I knitted a coat for my dog and he hated it with a vengeance . Tonight I started a cream Snood for myself for the spring. I'm starting to get more selfish ha ha. I always want something around my neck now. As I get older I want to cover up more lol. I'm doing it in King Coles Opium. Light wearing but still a bit of warmth. I knitted one before but it got uplifted by one of my granddaughters. This one I am determined to keep. Watched the Election results tonight. Not many surprises there.

He didn't actually ask about the coat, he just asked what I was knitting, when would it be finished, what am I knitting next. LOL.
B6 was here yesterday afternoon as well but went home after tea, the two of them bickered the last couple of hours which was rather wearying. I enjoyed working in the shop yesterday morning for a change but today we have to go back to work to finish the rest of the playground repairs. That's a drag having to go across town yet again. No break this week.
