Thank-you for all of the lovely messages for Jenni and me.. she's slowly healing.. her left lung partially collapsed, three ribs very painful, her back not good either, and compounded by the rib injuries and trying to be careful of them, her back and muscles working differently due to the rib damage.. Once management and her tutor's knew what happened, she ended up being sent home from both her work and her studies..

I'm home.. looking forward to seeing her Monday week when she'll be here for a week during her study break, and to celebrate her 23rd birthday.. where did all those years go!

Julie - so glad to hear Jenni is slowly improving. It helps to have understanding people around!

I'm off to Franz Josef for a couple of nights & (weather-permitting) will do a heli-hike there.
Back up to Greymouth after that for some black-water rafting then over to Christchurch on the Tranz Alpine.
Mum & I will be going punting on the Avon, up the hill on the gondola and over to Akaroa for a nature cruise on the harbour :)
It's going to be interesting to see Christchurch again ... feeling happy/sad about that.
Macchiato is having his own little holiday at the Catnip Cattery. Hope he likes it!

I'm sitting in Franz Josef listening to Bellbirds while waiting & hoping that the weather will clear. The first flights to the glaciers this morning were cancelled but the sky is lightening so all fingers & toes crossed!

Sadly no flights today so my visit to Franz Josef has been just that - no glacier to be seen!
On the bright-side I have been walking around the village introducing myself to the tourism operators here and have received a very warm welcome.
It's a lovely place to be ... even on a damp & cloudy day.

Go to the webpage and click the white arrow. It spreads out to show a bar graph with today seen as part of a month etc. Keep going by clicking on the Here Is heading or the Okay+ button It makes you realise that what has happened today is a small part of life.

Black water rafting was awesome!!!
It began with a 30 meter high zipline down into the gorge where we started our tubing ... WEEEEEE :-D
Today I have cycled out to the Grey river mouth then on down the coast on the cycle trail ... what a fabulous asset to the region & when complete (in around 2 years) it will cover 120km of stunning West Coast scenery.
It's a great reminder that the adventure I began over 2 years ago is still ongoing! Life is an adventure & each day we are gifted a blank page to write on.
Tomorrow the Tranz Alpine ...

Hi Everyone.. exciting events for you Rae.. sounds like you're having a great time there.. you're inspirational..

Just catching up with the thread.. hope you're all warm and snug with the blustery weather some of the country is having.. have been with Jenni and her Partner the past two weeks, here then at their home.. found a treasure of an early Edmonds book in a Hamilton Opp shop.. an addition to my Edmonds collection.. plus picked up some preserving jars as most of my many jars are filled.. and with 20+kg of Granny Smith apple's to do, Bought a 10kg bag of onions for $5 at our local Fresh Market store.. pickled and curried-pickled onions to be done with most of them.. then my preserving will cease until making orange marmalade in July from lovely local NZ Oranges..

I'm home in sunny Nelson again.
Those of you who have me as a friend on Facebook can enjoy some photos from my trip.
I had a wonderful time away which ended on a high point with a nature cruise at Akaroa where we saw lots of Maui Dolphins.
Happy to be home and happy to have Mac again, who had his own little holiday at a cattery where he was well loved.

Hello All,
I have not felt like posting of late,just been really down.
I had a fall last night,my knee has been giving out on me,not sure what is happening there.
It is becoming cold here, but I guess that is winter and have to put up with it.
I really would like to retire from my job, It is getting too heavy, but the timing is not right yet.
Had a big disappointment last week, we signed up for a house ,but was turned down, there is another around the corner, atm hubby won't do anything, he has been so hurt.
It will all turn out, in its on timing, just have to believe.
I am sorry I am so down, have been staying away because of it.
Another day just beginning, so all will be good.
Have a wonderful day all, and Motorbo thank you for asking about me, I was told I was needed in here lol.
