I reckon you can never have too much wool either

Morning everyone. Bit of a mixed bag out there weather wise. meant to be raining after lunch so we are probably going to get wet when we go to the clinic. We will be going to spotlight when we go up. I have a few things I need, no wool on my list tho lol. Have a good day everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-01 07:50:00
yep jayemtoo, water as hot as you can stand it with laundry powder in it is an old trick to use to strip wallpaper. Trouble is this wallpaper is painted over and pastered in places over the paint! And I suspect the walls haven't been sized as omg it is a mission to get off. Will be worth it though to have it all done. Prep work makes a huge difference to the finish so will persevere. Nephew is staying with my sister soon so he can come and help (will pay him). The habitat house sounds interesting too, what an awesome project to be involved in. Just having a cuppa then back to it. Okk... so I'm also peeking at the Deramores site lol Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-01 10:18:00
morning ladies :) Gosh there is some absolutely gorgeous curtain fabric out there, MrK are 'debating' choices... omg this is worse than choosing the house colour! I'm off to the supermarket today then back into wallpaper stripping. If the day stays calm I'll spray weeds. I saw a weedkiller advertised that kills weeds for a year. Wonder if it kills seeds or just the plant. Will have to investigate. Then crafting this afternoon. Hope everyone is able to enjoy their day today. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-02 07:33:00
Morning everyone... Yes Ive seen that spray advertised too Kiwimade.. Ill await your review of it later lol..We have one patch which is always just weeds, But the daffodils are in there, Under weed mat and bark. So would be a pain to try and get out. Well the trip to the superclinic was good. A bit tense for a while cos the dr was not happy with our impatience, but it was the cliinic's fault not ours. Anyway he has to do a couple of tests (angiogram and lunch capacity) and if they are ok he will get a pig valve replacement in 6 months ish... Done via the groin too so the recovery is very quick. Went to spotlight.. No accident in the yarn section.. Actually other than gl;ancing at the special bins on our way to the buttons , I didn't even go into the yarn section,,, How Good is that lol... Finished knitting the mice yesterday before we left. Took my cardy back to knit but it was soo hot in there and having a nearly finished back on my knee wasn't good. Have started a bow knot scarf to take with me to CMA this morning. Nurse appointment later.. Then once today is over I can start getting sorted to put the Christmas decorations up.. But not till the sky man has been tomorrow. We are getting my sky. You cant buy blank video tapes now (except a few on here) So we need to have mysky to record stuff.. Too many good things on tv at the mo lol Have a fab day everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-02 08:13:00
afternoon all. I am soooooooooooooo fed up with life , lots of people are s### on me . sewed today start knitting soon carolev - 2014-12-02 18:50:00
Morning all Another nice day, am off to help on the house again, really enjoying seeing how a house is built right from the start, we were putting the brackets up for the ceiling brackets on Monday (in between rain showers). No idea what will be doing today hopefully the roof is on so we get a bit of shelter lol. Looking forward to seeing the mice Popeye, and how the weed killer works Kiwimade, it would be ideal for my driveway which always seems to have weeds that need attacking. Hope to get some knitting done this evening it is going rather slowly at the moment. Have a great day everyone jayemtoo - 2014-12-03 07:12:00
morning :) Just finished spraying, I ended up buying Watkins spray as that was in the supermarket but I will be buying that other weedkiller to try. Just wonder how it would work as weedkiller usually kills from the green parts of the plant and not seeds. Oh well, no harm in trying. Very very cool jayemtoo, what an awesome project to be involved with and as you say, interesting to see how a house is built. I'm just having a break to let my antihistamine kick in, haven't had hayfever all spring until today. Harvey Norman are have a 'trade' day over the next few days so I think I'll buy my e-reader and MrK needs a phone. Nice they thought of teachers for the trade prices. The Furry One has just demolished MrK's sneaker... he hasn't done something like that for ages lol. The look on his face is priceless... it's almost... 'I'm such a badar** ' lol. Shouldn't laugh but mrK knows better than leave his shoes where the Furry One can grab them! Am hoping to get some knitting started today, a young woman I worked with a few years ago has had a prem baby. Lovely to knit premmie clothes :) happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-03 08:18:00
Morning all... Busy day here but hoping to get to the mice later in the afternoon.. Ive a few rows to do on a bow knot scarf. Hopefully sky will turn up to change our box. I have to move everything of and around the tv cabinet.. Big job lol... But Ive got to cut MrPs hair first. Oopsy re The Furry one and the shoe.. Naughty boy.. It is lovely re Harvey Norman Kiwimade.. Pity more places didn't do it eh, HAve a fab day all Its lovely out there popeye333 - 2014-12-03 08:50:00
Mixed sort of a day here. Decided to water my surviving dwarf beans (puss seems to have upset quite a few by digging in the garden and they haven't come up) and in the process broke the nozzle on the hose. Rats. Went to knit and natter, came back to go for a walk with Mr K but he didn't feel like it, so I decided to do some housework and set about tidying up the area around the woodfire, seeing as we are (hopefully) not going to be using it till next winter, and I noticed water all around the base and discovered water leaking from somewhere in the wall where the pipes from the wet back disappear up to the hot water cylinder. Having just paid the plumber a bit over $2000 for the new hot water cylinder I wasn't impressed, especially as the gibboard is now going to need replacing. Mr K phoned the plumber and he was here within half an hour, and discovered a nut on the new hot water cylinder hadn't been tightened enough and was dripping. Can't really blame him for the damage as it may have been caused by the original cylinder which had started to leak albeit very slowly, and we just didn't notice it, but it's a flipping nuisance as replacing the gibboard is the sort of job Mr K would normally tackle without batting an eyelid, but he probably isn't going to be able to do it, especially as there isn't much room where it is, so I guess we will have to pay someone to do it. Grrrr! I always think that it's money that would be better spent on handcrafts! Hope everyone is well and finding time for their favourite crafts. kuaka - 2014-12-03 20:02:00
ohh buggar kuaka, what a shame about the gib board, especially as you say, MrK could have fixed it in his hey day. Our paddock is no longer ours today and the new owner has already been out and mowed it this evening. We have both decided to spend a little on ourselves, my MrK wants to update some of his woodworking tools and I'm replacing my sewing machine along with a few other bits and pieces. I'm also going to buy one of those daylight lamps I've been wanting for a while so I can knit or sew in the evening. Hope everyone was able to get some knitting done today, nothing for me, the antihistamine I took knocked me out cold. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-03 20:44:00
morning girls off out today, been thinking of what to knit next a jacket for miss E or more stuff for my friend in the USA, she never got the last lot I sent, so other kids most possible wearing it now. can't trust the post carolev - 2014-12-04 06:35:00
morning :) What a shame carole, yep, someone else is wearing it now. Hope they appreciate it lol. I'm off outside to finish weeding before it rains once my antihistamine kicks in then off to Harvey Norman and a wool shop to buy some wool for this wee premmie baby (who is now breathing on her own, clever girl!) Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-04 06:43:00
Morning everyone. Ohh Kuaka what a problem. but the Plumbers should be repairing the walls etc. Its their fault. Be nice to have a spoil Kiwimade... We are going to Pukekohe today, to get fruit and veges. And I plan on going to the warehouse and get Sole Mio's dvd and Susan Boyles new cd.. And hopefully a couple of shirts for MrP. Our mutton will be ready in a couple of weeks so I cant even stock the freezers up till that arrives.. So food its pretty boring at the mo lol. Stuffed two legs last night then I simply crashed. HAd the energy of a gnat lol. HAve a good day everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-04 08:34:00
Trouble is popeye we can't prove it's the plumbers fault, it may have been damaged before they put the new cylinder in and we just didn't notice it, and the old cylinder had started to leak albeit slowly. The other thing that got up my nose a bit yesterday was Mr K announcing that the barbecue which we had bought at a good price, ($20 less than when we first looked at it) was on special yesterday and a further $30 off! Especially seeing as we haven't used it yet! Never mind. Lovely day here, going to try to make the most of it and drag Mr K out for a walk, then maybe some weeding before feet up and knit time hopefully out on the deck in the sunshine. It's a shame alright about parcels going missing. When I first came to NZ we lost four parcels one Christmas - one from my mum, my sister, my mum-in-law and my aunty. We had moved not long before and I suspect that NZ Post didn't forward the parcels but delivered them to our old address where the occupants would have had a real bonus. Good for you kiwimade for treating yourself. I treat myself every now and again and always feel good afterwards (till I get the credit card statement!!!) Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. kuaka - 2014-12-04 09:36:00
Morning all Oh dear Kuaka you are having an expensive time lately just hope it all settles down now. I have learnt that once I have brought something I have to very conscientiously NOT look at anything to do with it again as so often you see a better "bargain" - most frustrating. Having a bit less energetic day today making Christmas cakes instead of knocking in nails and letting the thumb and finger I managed to hammer yesterday settle down before going back for my next sting on the building tomorrow. Had to smile at the article in the local paper showing the Mayor using a nail gun on a bit of wall that was already well nailed and apart from this photo he hadn't touched a tool the whole hour or so he was on site. Hope all the shopping sprees today were successful' Off now to get cakes into oven then sit down with knitting while they cook jayemtoo - 2014-12-04 10:42:00
I haven't treated myself for sooo long but today I used the trade day at Harvey norman to buy a kobo e-reader. Omg lol, I am hooked! Wonder if I can find knitting patterns lol. We found a Harvey Norman outlet store that had just opened and they had amazing specials. Bought a Sunbeam cake mixer for daughter (Christmas pressie) was $150 down to $53, a new Russell Hobbs toaster less than half price, a new food processor (Russell Hobbs as well) as our old one died a year ago, a Sunbeam mixing stick thingy, all less than half price, everything totalled $222. So very happy, well, MrK is, as he loves kitchen gadgets lol. Also bought some patons 4 ply wool at 20% off at Spotlight, produced my VIP card and got another discount. So overall very happy. About to start a wee matinee jacket soon. Just had a painter deliver his quote to paint the house... suffice to say I need a bourbon to get over the shock of the quote... just under $30000... yep, that's thirty thousand... *gulps bourbon* think we will wait for more quotes to come in before we decide on this one! kiwimade64 - 2014-12-04 15:22:00
OMG>>>>. That's disgusting Kiwimade. Maybe its a miss print or something.. Holey H*ll... Yep Id be waiting for more quotes too.. Ohh you have had a nice spoil... Umm I have crochetpatterns on my e-reader so im guessing you can get knitting ones. As well as recipes etc. A lot of the Amish books I read have recipes at the end ... We got the Sole Mio dvd today and Susan Boyles latest cd. And MrP needed new shirts, we were going to get two and it came over the mic that it was buy two get a third free, so that was Excellent timing.. Then went and got heaps of fruit and vege's.. $10 for a 10 kilo of agria. They didn't have many other potatoes tho, so Get them while you can ladies.. There's a shortage on. Their pumpkin was $2-29 a kg, where countdowns is $4 a kilo. I got one a while ago when cheap.. I never pay Christmas prices for pumpkin. Got 2 kilos of asparagus for $7.. MrP had a big feel at lunchtime and Ill freeze the rest I went back to new world after lunch and did our Christmas club shop. Am pooped, shopped out now lol... Will get back to the Mice later Once they are done Ill have a play with my ceramic tiles and try and get some coasters done. I don't plan on going out of town until after Christmas now.. when the boxing day sales are on to use our gift cards etc. popeye333 - 2014-12-04 15:35:00
$10 for 10kg of agria is a brilliant price popeye, a couple of weeks ago I could get 10kg of rua for $7.99, but now it's ilam hardy at $14.99 for 10kg or else buy those silly little bags at ridiculous prices. $30,000 to paint the house! Now I know why we have always painted ours. Not that the previous one needed painting on the outside as it was a Lockwood, but the one before that was an old weatherboard place. We completely painted it, white of course, and found that it was forever dirty as it was below the main road, so we painted it again and chose a grey-green-mud colour, and it never showed the dirt. It suited it too. If we had stayed there, the plan was to from then on paint one wall each year, and that way it's never such a huge job as it is the first time. Our roof still needs doing (too hot now so it will have to keep till autumn) but I dread to think what it would cost to get someone in to do it. They would want danger money. Time to get the needles clicking - although I went to get another ball of yarn out this afternoon and discovered I am on the last ball, so it might be a smaller blankie than usual. kuaka - 2014-12-04 18:50:00
morning ladies, yep I was shocked at the price. A lot of the costing was prep time but still, very expensive. As for the roof, the painters have to wear harnesses or put rails up around the roof now. When dad painted, they climbed the ladder, did what they had to do with nothing like that! That's a great price for spuds popeye, I like the golden ones but they are expensive. With just the two of us a small bag lasts us a while but I did buy a couple of bags when I went to the supermarket last. Have started a wee matinee jacket for the prem baby girl, a pretty dusty pink but didn't get much done. Was hooked on my e-reader, found some Wilbur Smith books we haven't read yet as well as Lee Childs. MrK has been eyeing it up, I told him it was my 'toy' but I would share lol, he said well you can use my OLD skillsaw in exchange! Cheeky buggar! Hopefully I can get some knitting done this afternoon. We are shouting a few beers with friends late this afternoon to celebrate our sale so who knows. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-05 07:07:00
morning had a great day out yesterday got given a BIG bag of elesatic so would have to buy any more in this life time, started a jacket of miss E and made a mistake so have to up pick to band, bugger, when we painted dad's roof just climbed ladder too and his was 2 storeys . had to buy new nets as pussy climbed them and the ripped to bits. carolev - 2014-12-05 07:18:00
Morning everyone. MrP never used safety gear either.. He has fallen off scaffolding once tho. Second time just recently that Ive had to get MrP to open a can for me, so Im going to have to get an electric can opener.. And of course they are cheapest at briscoes, 25% off. And that's over in Pukekohe.. grrrr. Love my e-reader Kiwimade, haven't read a real book since I got mine... MrK is soo generous lol.. Id want to be able to use a renovator tool, if he has one in exchange lol Well best get moving, have heaps to do... Have a good day everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-05 09:16:00
yeah, I thought that was a very 'generous' offer too popeye lol. I do use his renovating tools and even have some of my own and they will be well used over the next few weeks. Another quote in, this time for the builder to take the fire out, remove a wall, put a load bearing beam into the ceiling and build a porch. Well under what I thought it would cost so happy there. managed to knit a few rows of the matinee jacket this morning, then unpicked a few rows lol... can't win! happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-05 12:44:00
morning ladies, we have another painter and plumber coming this morning for quotes and friends coming for dinner tonight. So busy busy today. Hopefully I can squeeze in some knitting, have finished the back of this wee matinee jacket and started the fronts. Would normally have it finished by now but lots on. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-06 07:34:00
Morning everyone. Time is flying by, I have so much I want to do so I can sit and enoy a new craft, Making the tile coasters But I don't think Ill get to that till the end of the week. Have a good day everyone... Edit to add Melissa Mouse http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/full/349760861.jpg Edited by popeye333 at 9:12 am, Sat 6 Dec popeye333 - 2014-12-06 09:11:00
Morning Melissa mouse is very cute Popeye. Yes very wise to get several quotes Kiwimade, when I was doing my kitchen i went for the more obvious Mitre 10 but also asked around and saw what a local small joiner had done for a friends kitchen so got a quote from them as well and they were much cheaper than the "off the shelf" mitre 10 kitchen and also fitted it all and adjusted so to fit neatly all for the one price. Have used the same joiner since and recommended them to friends so has paid off for them. Had bookcase/cabinet custom made by them and was happy with the quote but because they took longer than they thought they should have they even deducted $300 for "messing you about" (their wording) even though they had not specified a time frame. Don't get many businesses like that these days. Spent yesterday nailing the cladding onto the Habitat house so now knees are complaining a bit from climbing up and down on the ladders but all good fun and great to see the results' Off out soon to do messages then hopefully more awake later to get onto the knitting again. Have a good day everyone. jayemtoo - 2014-12-06 09:51:00
wow jayemtoo, that's great about your joiner. Good tradies are worth their weight in gold aren't they. Really happy with this painter who came out today, he is more than happy for us to help with the prep work to cut costs and he has been in the business 35 years. Think even my dad would be happy with him lol. Now the plumber is here on the roof measuring up the guttering. He's a young guy starting out on his own so would be nice to support him if we can. Time for some knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-06 10:24:00
Morning everyone. Looks like it will be a beatutiful day out there. I didn't do any crafting yesterday... It was good to have a day off. But I did freeze asparagus, bottle pickled onions and dress the house into Christmas. Looks good. Ill take photos later. MIssy thought since Mummy was playing with this thing that she could. But shes had a few squirts and left it alone. And "forgot" that she shouldn't touch it this morning so has already been shot with the water lol.. But really I think she has done pretty good so far. I am Really Really pleased with my table, the runner is on with some bits and pieces and I love it. Photos later. Played our Sole Mio dvd yesterday Its very good. Serious and funny all in one. Im going to start some coasters later this morning, then put Melvin together Have a good day everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-07 08:50:00
morning :) Just finished the fronts to this wee matinee jacket and about to start the sleeves...you forget just how small premmies are! Better bring the washing in first, should be dry by now and it will give mrK a bit more room while he's working around the compost bin. Haven't even thought of Christmas decorations yet, have to buy a new tree first as our old one fell apart last Christmas and was tossed out. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-07 11:42:00
night all. been sewing all day to make some money. now off to knit, carolev - 2014-12-07 20:09:00
Don't know what happened to my message yesterday, thought I had posted it but it seems to have gone "poof!" Never mind. Yesterday we went to buy a new nozzle for the hose, also bought some plants and some seed raising mix, a hose reel etc etc, and returned a clothes airer which was supposed to be stainless steel but had rusted to bug..... so our nozzle ended up costing us just over $100 allowing for the $60 credit on the clothes airer. Today I've been busy clean sheets on the bed, washing, gardening, weeding, planting and managed to do some crochet as well. Bit knackered now, so an early night is called for. Hope everyone is enjoying life. kuaka - 2014-12-07 20:54:00
morning ladies :) lol kuaka, you sound like me when I return things, I come home with more! Sounds like you had a very busy day but great to have it all done. I'm buying a new sewing machine, another Janome. With the sale of the paddock we agreed to spend a little bit on ourselves and MrK has updated a few of his 'toys' so I'm doing the same. Our daughter has my old machine so she may as well keep it and I will buy new. It's not a top of the range model but will do me fine for what I sew. Quotes are coming in for the renovations and the price difference between tradies is amazing. We kinda have an idea of who we liked as we both think liking and trusting the person working in your home has to count for something too. I will try and get some more knitting done today, have had my nose in a Dan Brown book and once I start his books I find I loose hours lol. Happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-08 06:56:00
morning all. still feeling off colour got 2 things on the go right now. jacket for miss E and a baby cardie carolev - 2014-12-08 07:17:00
Morning everyone. I did crafting with my friend . It was nice for a change. Floors to do today. A swap to post, then back to Melvin. Stupid heart decided to race through the night. Hasn't done that I'm ages. And it better Not become a habit either cos that will mean my meds are Not working and I'll have to have a pacemaker and I don't want one. Well have an awesome day everyone. popeye333 - 2014-12-08 07:20:00
Morning all Made more Christmas cakes yesterday, thought the oven was making the house a bit warm until I realized that the weather was 30o so not exactly the ideal temperature for baking in. Then went out to my favorite fruit stall as finally apricots, peaches and nectarines are in - they are a bit late this year and also due to the warmer winter apricots are in short supply so will have to get in my supply quickly. Apricots are my most favorite fruit. Have a good day everyone jayemtoo - 2014-12-08 08:12:00
oohh poopeye, hope your heart settles down for you today and mrP does all the running round. It is nice to craft with a friend, I love it when I'm with our daughter and out comes the hooks :) Am so glad I taught her to crochet. great to have things on the go isn't it carole :) mmmmm apricots... yummm... I love summer fruit lol. I don't make Christmas cake as I'm the only one who eats it, so I buy a small 'slice' at the supermarket just for me. Right-o, I'm off, have lots to do today. kiwimade64 - 2014-12-08 08:40:00
Guess how I saw in Sewing world today. spending money. carolev - 2014-12-08 12:08:00
I told it off Jayemtoo and Kiwimade.. Was soo out of the blue. Its been good for ages. And has been fine this morning. Yum I never used to eat fresh Apricots, but loved dried ones. Till mum moved in. I did see some on Thursday but they weren't very ripe. so Maybe this week... Passionfruit, Raspberries and apricots would be my best picks. Yeah it was nice having my friend around to craft with. MrP enjoyed watching tv without me chipping in lol Once Melvin is done, I can finally finish the back of my cardy. And Ill probably do a few bow knot scarves for CMA. And some top down dresses. popeye333 - 2014-12-08 12:10:00

lmao meeeee!!! Just got home now, been to Dad's and showed him one of our quotes for painting the house and let him fume over it lol, did a few things for him around the house and now I can sit and read the instruction manual for my new machine. Bought an Elna as it has a Janome motor but stronger body wise than the janome I was looking at. Soooo excited, can't wait to use it! kiwimade64 - 2014-12-08 15:35:00 |
I bet your dad fumed over them Kiwimade... MrP would too. I like Janome's.. They just keep on running eh.. Mine was second hand when I got it ummmm nearly 20 years ago. Its nothing with bells and whistles, Just a nice simple machine. but its done some work on it that's for sure. Ive done everything I had planned to do today. Heart is working fine, so maybe last night was just a reminder to behave lol. Have done Melvins arms and legs.. Striped tubes about 2.5 cms thick. Stuffing them firm enough without being too firm is tricky. But now they are done the rest of him is a lot easier. Whats everyone doing for Christmas? Just the two of us here. And I have to admit as much as I like doing the whole Christmas thing with people, I also like it just being the two of us. Took 20 years before we got a Christmas on our own. And we really like it. popeye333 - 2014-12-08 15:46:00
morning ladies :) yep popeye, he sat there and went through the quote with a fine tooth comb lol and oh boy he had a field day. Like to make him feel involved even though it is our home as painting/wallpapering is his trade. Wallpaper stripping today, we have a skip bin arriving Thursday and I want all the wallpaper off and in the bin before it is taken away. Then I can start sanding down doors and windows and give the walls a light sand. Curtain lady arrives this morning, hopefully we can decide this time! Then feet up this afternoon. One of my 'treats' has been a daylight lamp and OMGGG what a difference it made last night. Even MrK was impressed and I could see him eyeing it up for reading in the evening lol. I can see my 'toys' are going to be 'our' toys :P happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-09 07:08:00

Morning everyone. I have melvins legs attatched. So the rest wont take long.. He should be finished tomorrow. My Christmas party at CMA this morning. Ive even dragged out my Christmas jewellery lol. Looking forward to it. then will stop and get MrPs Christmas present. A coffee maker. The one he has now uses paper filters and I cant find them to buy anywhere. so will get him a new one (Last one from Oppy). Which has a mesh filter. He couldn't drink brewed coffee for soo long cos it gave him asthma, but we found a Robet harris blend that he drinks, likes and it doesn't give him asthma . I want a renovator machine, Ondeay lol Have a good day Everyone popeye333 - 2014-12-09 08:26:00
Wet here today, it's almost like thick fog, so pleased I did all the washing yesterday Sunday and I've actually done most of the ironing, but might try to finish the rest this morning before my afternoon out. Have to make a new lining for a curtain for my son and let the hem down on one of my old curtains (it's the same fabric as the ones I made him a while back and now he's put an extra French door in the lounge and lucky for him I have kept my old curtains, as I don't have any more fabric). I told him it will probably notice where I lengthen them, but he says it won't look as bad as having no curtain at all. Also I put gathering tape on his curtains and mine have French pleats. Never mind. French pleats for the French door??? oh well. I've finally finished my "mile a minute" blanket and now I don't know what to start. I'm almost tempted to try to finish a UFO! (but I probably won't). Have fun everyone despite the weather. kuaka - 2014-12-09 09:05:00
I think you are amazing kuaka sewing curtains. It's the one thing I hate sewing so am going to pay to have mine done. I want the double track with the drape against the window then the voile facing into the room. All on separate pull string things so they can be pulled individually. There is some gorgeous fabric out there! kiwimade64 - 2014-12-09 09:16:00
I agree with you Kiwimade re curtains, just had the new ones for lounge & dining rooms made for me, I will. Make them for bedrooms if can't get ready mades but not for living areas as reckon these are seen a lot more. Took me ages to decide on fabric as the samples looked so different once got them home and between day and night but delighted with final choice. jayemtoo - 2014-12-09 13:24:00
I did this house lot of curtains.. I enjoy doing them... Its only straight sewing after all lol... In another house we lived in I did the drapes and it took for ever. I thought my machine was dying, it was sooo slow. It wasn't till after Id finished that I discovered there was a speed control on the pedal of the machine and it had clicked onto slow. I didn't even know it was there lol. When I did these, the landlord said for me to go chose what I wanted, and give the lady the requirements and then she went in the next day and paid for it and delivered it to me.. popeye333 - 2014-12-09 13:45:00
oohhhhh had the curtain lady out and no strings to pull, we are having a 'wand' to pull the curtains with so no tangled lines :) And MrK and I agreed on the curtains, carpet AND paint for the walls and doors... how's that for a satisfying day lol. Can't believe it lol. And the carpet is Furry One approved lol as he flopped on the sample and wouldn't move. I've almost finished stripping the wallpaper down the hallway, will get it finished tomorrow and maybe start stripping the lounge too. Time for a cuppa or wine (more likely wine lol) and some knitting :) Hope everyone has managed to get some crafting done today. happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-09 16:18:00

Ive got Melvin all done but his pants. should be able to do them tonight, I have a rotter of a headache, I think its from the sweat peas, I did the arranging this morning, then ended up sitting between two jars of them. Im having a day of doing nothing tomorrow.. I don't know if Ill manage that, but Ill try lol Miss March 2015.. I'm soo proud http://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/350498885.jpg Edited by popeye333 at 5:02 pm, Tue 9 Dec popeye333 - 2014-12-09 17:01:00 |
aaawwwww, popeye, Miss March is adorable - she is just so cute! kuaka - 2014-12-09 19:04:00
morning ladies :) omg what a wee cutie Miss March is lol. I really miss having a cat, it's the purring I miss the most I think. The second quote for painting the house is being delivered shortly as we are the way to another job for the painter. Can't be any worse than the first quote! Finished knitting the wee matinee jacket, it hasn't taken me this long to knit a premmie jacket for ages! Will sew it up and put the buttons on this afternoon. But this morning it's back to wallpaper stripping. Hallway almost done and then into the living room. Funny how one decision leads to another... all because we want a wall taken out lol. Hope everyone has a fab day, happy knitting :) kiwimade64 - 2014-12-10 06:56:00
