Lovely last weekend, I hope yours was, too, makerealbany. Back to the grindstone now though. At least I got 4 loads of washing done when I got back yesterday. I had to use the dryer for most of it but at least it's done. I hate laundry lying around. LOL.

So glad you had a good time. Well my daughter is away for a Funeral in Hamilton. I'm up in Orewa for two nights but have to rush back in the morning. Sil has gone back overseas. A is exhausted with J. Public Health took her a monitor for the night. J is snoring his head off than he gets quieter and stops breathing. Wakes himself up choking for air and than screams because he is so frightened. Paediatric Specialist saw him last week and said his brain will wake him up when he stops breathing. His tonsils are huge so A has an appointment with the Surgeon this week. It's a darn nightmare for him and his Mum. He's on the Gluten free, diary free diet and is losing weight. Thank heavens his Kawasakis hasn't flared up again. So that's us girl. A day at a time.

Poor J, and so stressful for A, coping with that. It sounds really frightening. I am currently working on dressing a baby doll for the shop. Used to do them years ago and thought I might see how one goes again. We are losing all our wood work people. We are an aging membership unfortunately.

Today was challenging lol. 3 kids very hard work. Specialist is sick so appointment rescheduled for Monday. Receptionist said Friday next week. A burst into tears and told her Pediatrician says results of tests show reason for concerns. So they changed her appointment. She is going private but the Ped is putting the results through the Public Health System as well because he needs surgery quickly before he gets a darn virus. My hair is getting thinner and whiter grrrrr. Crocheting a blanket for a neighbours girl in yep pink. At lest I can do that half asleep ha ha. Daughter not back from Hamilton yet. Funeral went very well and M would have been very pleased. She was a fun girl. Poor darling only just turned 50.

That's sad... So many funerals, so many people seriously ill around me at present. So tired last night, didn't get up once! Played mini golf with the Women's group yesterday but half of the group is either sick or looking after sick family, then straight into working on one of the programmes for an hour as it opened early to accommodate school and one of the staff can't get there early. Phew! I've just bout finished dressing the doll, just have to put lace under the frill on bonnet and do the ties. Also working on a beanie order for the shop, probably need to get some more blankets done as well. Busy, busy, busy.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-05 05:55:00
6106

Doll finished, beanie finished, socks underway, and end of month cheques just about done. LOL. Not bad considering it's over and above going to work. And it's the end of the week, Hurrah! Except that I'm working in the shop tomorrow and it's really cold in there when there's no sun. Brrrr. I'll have to think of my next project to keep me warm. I'm using Knit World's Happy Feet yarn for the socks - nice to work with and cool colours.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-06 06:11:00
6107

Left my ipad up at daughters. back there tonight. On my girls Lap Top. What a pain ha ha. Two kids today M still has a virus and J can only be minded by us until sorted. Unfair to take him to Preschool. crocheting a blanket still. Big blanket lol. I like knitting with sock yarn. Shop sounds depressing. You have to wear warm clothes. Kids sitting next to me eating Lunch. such peace ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-06-06 12:10:00
6108

Yep at least 3 layers on when I'm in shop and no sun today so jacket as well. LOL.

Had a couple of days of strife. Mum off on another overseas trip. We have a lot on our plate at the moment and it's just bad timing. Never mind. Sometimes I feel so undervalued by some of my family. Not my children or grandchildren though. Also sometimes people can be so darn judgmental and selfish without knowing the facts. Had to ban a couple of them on Facebook. Lol. Still working on the blanket. At lest I'm crocheting white now. The pink was getting to me ha ha. Cool up here but no wind. Hope the shop had a good day and you too.

makerealbany - 2014-06-07 17:09:00
6110

I know what you mean about Facebook. I have deleted everyone but close family and deleted the public thingy so anyone else can't get in. Even then I'm not so interested in what is being posted in there so I hardly go on any more. I'm sorry you are having a hard time at present when you are always putting them all first. We are trying to gather up a few special things for Mum and Dad's 60th anniversary in a month. We found out last weekend that Dad always gave Mum a box of Black Magic chocolates when he took her out (65 years ago in Northern Ireland). Apparently they are imported to shops here in Christchurch so we are on the hunt. Went to one shop yesterday but they had just sold out! but we spent $40 on other goodies. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-08 10:36:00
6111

What a lovely idea about the Black Magic Chocolates and the special things. Made me smile. Spent the morning supporting A. Rested his afternoon. Both my girl and myself have Shingles in the same darn place. Grrr. Had
A nice tea with A and the kids, then came home and crocheted. Tired now and going to bed early lol.

makerealbany - 2014-06-08 21:52:00
6112

How long does it take to clear shingles? It's been a while since you first mentioned, it sounds awful from what I've heard.
The other things I have so far for Mum and Dad is a CD of the Peter Posa music they used to dance to, a huge Boxer dog soft toy in memory of the two dogs they had and Cadburys Fry chocolate bars which were all Mum asked for birthdays when we were growing up. We are looking for a Matchbox size boat that I. can repaint to replicate their last boat and we are trying to find the movies they might have seen in their early days to get copies. Dad used to always buy Mum Tweed toiletries so might find some of that as well.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-09 06:49:00
6113

Bloody shingles seem to subside for a week and then bam. I am quite sick of them. Painful and annoying lol. I remember Peter Posa. Blond ha ha Mum liked Tweed as well. A went to the Surgeon today so J goes in on Wednesday. I'm off to T's tonight. And back home tomorrow night so I can sort M out for school etc. A and J will be at the hospital by 6.30. It will be a hell of a day. Still crocheting the blanket. Spent the day resting.

makerealbany - 2014-06-09 16:31:00
6114

You'll be taking one step at a time this week, too, I think. I'm booked into a stress workshop at lunchtime today. LOL. Trouble is I think I'm too stressed and busy to make the time for it. I am going but it better give me some stuff to work with. Out of nine permanent positions, 8 of us are in new roles, 4 are new to the organisation. No wonder it feels never ending. I'm working on another wee double breasted coat in dove grey at present.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-10 07:01:00
6115

I love that grizzly too stressed and too busy to attend stress workshop ho ho. I need to go to one lol. Yes I am just doing the basics and minding the children. Got a spare hour now so I'm working on my blanket. I like dove grey but my daughters aren't too keen on it. Pouring up here so I will have to wear gumboots to the school.

makerealbany - 2014-06-10 13:20:00
6116

I went to the workshop and it was really good but only got through half of the worksheet in the hour and a half which was disappointing. However the stress test we did showed I was only just over the median level. Put things into perspective for me I think, yes, I am anxious about a few specific things but overall I'm ok. It was great to have that confirmed LOL. And I did get lots of basic information to be able to do training at work for staff. The specifics, you ask? Waiting for the results of funding applications - the worst 'what ifs' make me feel ill and DIL is still not speaking to me, can you believe it?
Went to Knitworld sale yesterday morning - so much fun. Spent $50 on 5 new projects. Yippee!

grizzly4 - 2014-06-11 07:20:00
6117

Just think about how peaceful it is with her not talking you lol. Silly girl. J had his surgery today. They took out his tonsils and adenoids. Surgeon is concerned about a huge lump on his Lymph Node so they are testing it. He did very well. A had him in a Private Hospital. They had to put Superman to sleep first lol. He woke up ok. Ten minutes of telling nurses to "Go away" and he settled. .i just fed him some tea and had lots of cuddles. Going up to Orewa now.

makerealbany - 2014-06-11 18:38:00
6118

And still it's not over, waiting for those test results! Can nothing be straightforward for the child?
I was watching the news online this morning about the flooding just north of here in Rangiora. They were saying how the paddocks have actually been under water since April and yet all we've heard about is the Flockton basin issue. It's amazing how the media manage to focus on only a small part of a monumental issue. I've also been reading the comments regarding the pending earthquake drama coming on t.v. The preview of it made me feel quite ill so I don't know if I will be able to watch it. Very mixed comments about it.
I just have to sew up the wee coat now, I love how fast that pattern knits up. I have a bootee order for TM to do before I can do a matching beanie for the coat.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-12 06:51:00
6119

How is J, makerealbany? I'm assuming they sent him home same day as surgery?

grizzly4 - 2014-06-13 06:42:00
6120

I hope everythings ok, makerealbany?
B5 turns 6 tomorrow so as he changes from Mum's house to Dad's house for the week tomorrow as well, he gets 2 parties. We get to go Mum's party this afternoon. He's bright lad, I think he'll catch on pretty quick to the benefits of having double ups of certain things from now on. LOL.
DIL has apparently moved on from whatever huge transgression I made.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-14 08:12:00
6121

Still thinking of you! Hope everything is ok.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-15 10:31:00
6122

J is ok. He is at home. We have to keep meds on a timetable chart because if the painkillers are not online he ends up a screaming mess in pain. We have had some not so good moments but his Mummy is on to it. He has started to eat but it's very slow. Still he is progressing. Apparently Kawasakis can cause enlarged Tonsils, etc. It's great to see him having fun and now laughing. Of course we can't let him do too much. Don't want to start any bleeding. I thought I wrote a big post on Friday night but I must have not posted it. Duh sometimes I am in the middle and one of the grandchildren needs something and I forget. Sorry grizzly what a dope I am. I am running a bit lol just made K two lots of Play Dough. We are at my place but taking him home later. Daughter is working all weekend again. It's good for him to spend time with J. Well so Dil is speaking again ha ha. Your grandson will settle ok. j my 11 year old grandson no longer tries to con his Dad that Mum says and vice versa. Took him years though. My son and his Mum are too clever for him ha ha. He now chooses if he wants a party or not. Most times he doesn't. The rules are the same in both households so no conflict. I had to go to M6s school on Friday to teach French Knitting. It was great. Lots of parent helpers. Kids had fun. K's Mum came here to help A with J. He wouldn't eat or drink. T persuaded him so that was helpful. A has a virus so she has been exhausted. We are getting back to normal health wise with the rest of us.

makerealbany - 2014-06-15 11:39:00
6123

Ps still in my Pjs. I have done everything so now time for a shower. We aren't getting any visitors as no one wants to bring any bugs to J. Being in my Pjs is incredibly relaxing ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-06-15 11:43:00
6124

Wow, you have been very busy. Glad to hear J. is improving. We worked solidly on house stuff yesterday, even got a rug doctor and cleaned the carpets as I didn't get to do it in January during my break. Taking a bit longer to dry at this time of year but we'll get there. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-16 07:41:00
6125

Yes I need to clean mine again but no good in this weather. J had a great day with me today. I dropped M to school and went to the gym. Got home washed he car. A left for work and J played while I muddled through the washing. Thank heavens the vomiting has stopped lol. J's new puppy chased the cat and got under the fence. I had to chase her, bring her in and dry her. I put her in her inside run and she fell asleep. All that running. J and I spent the afternoon playing Lego. My other daughter has just rung to say she is not feeling great and after working all weekend is not going to a meeting in Wellington. She would have had to be up at 4. Away till 9 at night. She only gets paid 8 hrs for that. I wouldn't do it. So glad she is looking after herself better. Sooooo tomorrow I have a free day. Whoopee .i need it. Might get a snood done for J. She is up from Queenstown on Sunday. I have missed her and so has her Mum.

makerealbany - 2014-06-16 17:47:00
6126

Speaking of looking after yourself.....where are you fitting that in with all this running around for others? You weren't so well, either a few messages ago. I. was home with a migraine yesterday so the house was nice and warm when I got in. I have a couple of late meetings this week so he will get the chance to warm it up a few times. LOL. I hate coming in to a cold house but our oil heater is getting on in years and I don't want to leave it plugged in for the timer. I. did make me mad though when he said his headache went then came back around 4ish. He hadn't eaten anything at all, all day and had been on the computer. I couldn't believe it!
I am working on a crossover cardy with matching bootees and beanie in white 4ply with a fairisle border in pastel variegated contrast. It's turning out prettier than I expected. My doll in her layette only lasted in the shop 4 days, so I was pretty pleased with that, might have to do another.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-17 07:05:00
6127

Dropped M at school, went to Warehouse for pet food and cleaning stuff. A wanted some more Wee Away but they were out of stock. Went to Animates and the closest product they had that was similar was $39. I couldn't believe it. Did not buy it lol. Had to pay a $12 fine when I took my books back, forgot to renew them ugh. Just slowing taking my time today doing little jobs. Wow 4 days that's great. Going to just edge the blanket and sort out the wool for the snood.

makerealbany - 2014-06-17 12:23:00
6128

Never heard of WEE Away! LOL. I started the second front of the wee cardy I'm knitting and then woke up still holding my needles but I'd missed the last half of the programme I was watching! Might come home a bit earlier today as I have an evening training at work tomorrow night. Might get a bit more done tonight before dozing off again. My sister has notified whoever it is that organises Queen's messages etc so It's been confirmed Mum and Dad will receive a note from the Queen, the Governor General, the Prime Minister etc. Hard to say how they will react to that. LOL. I must make sure that the Manager of the Retirement Village knows, a 60th anniversary must be worth flowers from them at least, surely.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-18 07:13:00
6129

Heavens yes. How wonderful. 60 years of Marriage. I fell asleep in front of tele last night as well tee hee didn't even finish edging the blanket. Ageism is a blink away. Did I tell you my mother has gone to Aussie again. Left on Tuesday. Can't even tie that woman down lol . Hope she enjoys herself. Just watching the weather. Clothes on line blowing around. Can finish them on the racks as I am off for the night. Really windy here which is great after the rain.

makerealbany - 2014-06-18 15:27:00
6130

We haven't has strong winds for ages. Either bleak and wet or icy mornings with sunny days. More of the first sort though. LOL. Not worth putting washing out unless I'm home around 4 as it's just as wet by 6 as when I put it out. I have a system going at the moment that seems to be working LOL which doesn't require loading towels into the dryer until they only need half an hour to air them off. I'm watching our power usage daily through Meridian and I think my bill for this month is going to be a lot bigger. I guess that's normal, I usually get 3 biggies over winter. I try not to use the oven much as that's the killer.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-19 06:41:00
6131

I forget how bleak the weather is in other places. Yes power bills in winter are high. Ours is sigh. Went up to Orewa last night and my daughter had decided to take a day in Lieu today as she has so much owing. Came back home because I knew A was going to work today and had to leave early as she coaches Ms Netball Team and I was having J so she was saved a very early trip then T rings and they have 3 staff sick so begged her to go in. So she is starting at 11 and doing an 8 hour shift. Sooooo I have fed dogs, cats and J, had a shower, will let dogs out of the decking area for a run, etc then give instructions to C to let them out again before she leaves from cleaning A's house. Honestly talk about it. Lucky C cleans for 4 hours. J is getting better during the day but still wakes at night. Hope that sorts out. Bonus is he is still Dairy free but is tolerating small amounts of Gluten. Time for a cuppa. Decided to make the blanket king size so still going lol. That's the trouble with crochet I get carried away.

makerealbany - 2014-06-19 09:11:00
6132

J woke me up early with his purring in my ear lol. Taking the car in for a WOF early so at lest I get a relaxed bath first. I am stiff but no time for Gym today. Kid free until tonight ahaaaaaa. My feet were sore last night from being on them all the time. Bent down to pick up a fork I dropped and couldn't get up lol T asked me what I was doing. She was mortified when I told her I needed help getting up. I've done it before. You just freeze in place ha ha. Old body protesting. Hope the sun comes out today. Have a great Friday grizzly.

makerealbany - 2014-06-20 06:12:00
6133

Not a bad week all up. Full turn out for staff training on Thursday night on diagnosed conditions of children on our programmes. They were so into it I'm going to do an evening per term. Next term is on identifying stress triggers and 4th term is on child protection and family violence. I provide food to start and it's time for the whole team to be together including the Management Team if they are interested. Some staff only see each other if their shifts coincide on holiday programmes because we have after school programmes at 2 sites. I am very pleased with their response. Makes it all worthwhile when wee gems like that happen. LOL. I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend, I. is looking exhausted but had to go to work this morning as well. So I'm up early as usual and I've been on Pinterest for nearly an hour being inspired by the knitting and crochet ideas. I've decided to take the last week of term off work, too so might even get some new projects done. It was a huge decision to make to not be there for awhile, we'll see if I stick to my plan. I can't believe it's been 7 months since I changed roles.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-21 07:09:00
6134

That's a great idea taking time off. Yes indeedy. I have told my kids I have a Luncheon on the 20th which is a Sunday so they are organizing K for me. I am going to meet up with some friends on another thread on here. I am so looking forward to it. You and I will catch up one day I'm determined we will. Netball today so A and M were out the door at 7.45. Got home at 12 so I am just having a break. A has got K for a couple of hours. Watching the weather as lines are full. Need some repairs on my car so it will be done on Mon or Tues when Sam my mechanic can fit it in. There is another car here I can drive so no stress. I daren't look on Pininterest or the other craft sites. I could spend hours and not do anything else ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-06-21 12:51:00
6135

Just got an invitation to my Dils Mums Birthday Party. I am on a social roll ho ho. Off to visit my son and buy 3 pressies on the way. Not so cold today. Dropping off 2 Cardies I knitted for my granddaughter. She has enough now for this winter. Finished a UFO for J last night , started it years ago for J and he told me he did not like green so left it. Found it yesterday searching for black wool.

makerealbany - 2014-06-22 10:30:00
6136

Just missed you! LOL. A late start for us this morning. Spent yesterday morning cooking and knitting. Lovely! Had visitors in the afternoon but no-one stayed for tea, so the Beef Stroganoff was all for us! LOL. And the apple crumble, too. Yum, yum. I really need to wash my car, the chocolate colour certainly shows the dirt. I don't know what's worse with the road works, the dust when it's dry or the mud when it's wet. Maybe it doesn't matter, it's all sticking to my car! I need to finish bootees and do a beanie today to put the set in the shop tomorrow.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-22 10:44:00
6137

Bootees and beanie done. Very cute set, if I do say myself. LOL. Took my car to a car wash for the first time ever, I'm so glad I. came with me, as I was totally freaked out. No wonder kids get scared in there! Thought it might save time as it was going to be a busy day. Also made soup for tea and tried to make apple sponge pudding but that was definitely a flop. Will but it from the supermarket next time I get a craving. LOL.

I am remembering to take a photo this time!

6139

Oh that set is lovely. I hate car washes. Yes they are scary. Had to wash mine again today before I take it for repairs tomorrow. Darn road works everywhere. I only washed it last week. I had a lovely visit yesterday. Little E was in fine spirits yesterday. We played for hours lol. It was " Nana watch this, Nana come here." She is growing up.

makerealbany - 2014-06-23 19:18:00
6140

Boy, I slept like a log last night after a long day yesterday. I even got the back and 1 and a half fronts done on a wee coat too. If I can do that on a work day, imagine what I can get done next week on my week off! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-24 06:36:00
6141

Got my repairs done today and my WOF. My daughter at has another kidney infection sigh. I went up this morning to drop my car. She picked me up and we went back to her place. Normally I would be there anyway. Dr told her to see how she feels at the weekend. She had the last one 7 months ago. Told her to rest while I did the washing. She does it hard at times. C the 20 year old works but is no help to her anyway grrrr. I am still working on the blanket. A few rounds at night. No time in the day. Got the snood to finish tonight.

makerealbany - 2014-06-24 18:52:00
6142

My daughter is going through tough times, too. I so wish I could help. She is still waiting for an appointment to see another specialist and is in so much pain and now she finds B6 is in big trouble at school. He has become very violent towards other children when they don't do as he asks and it has happened often enough for him to be about to be stood down for a day! Apparently it happened twice last week and letters were sent home to his Dad as it was Dad's week. C did nothing of course. And now it's happened twice this week and it's only just Wednesday. The school talks to S though where they are completely intimidated by C and won't deal with him. B6 has told his teacher that Dad cries all the time and says his life isn't worth living. Of all the stuff to put on the child! S said C is more and more difficult each time she picks B up. But now she's also noticing things like his teeth don't look as if they've been cleaned for a week etc.
There is a meeting at school next Monday and I have offered to go with her as this aggression actually started way before the parents split and a referral for help was supposed to have happened then. I am worried they will just put it down to recent events not the fact that he has been witnessing violent and emotionally abusive behaviour all his life!

grizzly4 - 2014-06-25 06:55:00
6143

Omg your poor daughter. The problem is not going to go away until B gets some help. If he considers what he is doing is normal behaviour then he's in trouble. It's does not seem a healthy environment for a child to be in considering his remarks about his father. C may well be heading for trouble himself. I would be very careful if I were S. It's a difficult situation alright. Perhaps he should not have B week about. Maybe he should only have weekend access until he sorts himself out. If B has been exhibiting abusive signs in his behaviour well before this separation and those signs are indicative of behaviour he has grown up with, then he should not be with his father. I hope S gets help for B but I feel that C will not be very helpful at all. Bad enough S has health problems without all this.

makerealbany - 2014-06-25 20:24:00
6144

Totally agree. And then to top it all off I hurt my back at work yesterday and now I'm hobbling around with a walking stick to help me keep walking upright! Thank goodness it was this week and not next with having to go to Blenheim. Phew! That could have been messy.Me and my pet stick will go to work and see how long we can last. Definitely have things to organise before going on leave.

grizzly4 - 2014-06-26 06:30:00
6145

We are a couple of lame ducks grizzly. I strained my shoulders at the gym yesterday and was in agony last night. Today I just took it easy my chest is so tight if I didn't know I had strained myself I would be worrying about a heart attack lol. Yes get yourself alright to go to Blenheim so no overworking that back.

makerealbany - 2014-06-26 17:45:00
6146

Managed to stick it out for 5 hours yesterday so quite pleased. I have a couple of meetings today and a general tidy up to do and then I'm good to go, I think. I can't imagine what it's going to feel like not going into work next week. LOL. What rot, of course I can, it's going to be A-MAZ-ING! I'm standing straighter today and haven't used my stick so far this morning. Hooray. Keeping up the pain killers though. Your shoulders sound nasty, makerealbany, I don't want to think how you managed that! Mine was reaching round a tv to get a heavy tool box out of the bottom of a cupboard. Stupid, eh?

grizzly4 - 2014-06-27 06:41:00
6147

Oh yes We do stupid things. I was doing lateral pull downs really fast and strong lol. Feeling much better today. My daughter up the beach started knitting a very colourful blanket today. She is still in pain but bored. K5 chose the colours and the pattern as it is his he says ha ha. I showed her a few tricks as she is using two colours at a time. My other daughter ignores knitting. Ho ho. Brought K home for the night to give her peace and quiet. He has already asked me if we can cook muffins and bickies for his school lunches next week. That is after I cook him pancakes for breakfast. Lol. Little monkey. Finally edging the blanket. It's big enough now.

makerealbany - 2014-06-27 21:25:00
6148

Do we get to see the blanket?
I thought my back was slowly improving but seems worse this morning. #^*%#! I can't do the vacuuming before family gets here, I. has gone to work and I had to ask him to clean out the kitty litter before going or it would drive me nuts knowing I couldn't do it. All very frustrating, any any OCD tendencies I might have are kicking in big time the longer this goes on.

Ah you poor thing I am ok today. Boys left at 11 so had the day to myself. Did some baking, made some calls, read a bit and lazed around. You know I'm hopeless at taking photos but I'll ask my son tomorrow. We are going to Yum Char for brunch so J can catch up with the family while she is home from Queenstown.

Sounds like a lovely thing to do. I'm stuck in the house, hobbling around and taking voltaren and neurofen which is doing nothing.
