crafts is my pasion

Boy that sucks. If lawyers can hold money they will. My daughter had one who left half way through, then the second one would discuss things with her and then change it. Grrrrr. Finally got my Flu Vaccine today, then my blood tests, picked up my medication, did my shopping and came home to rest. Both arms throbbing. Yuk. Sil flies in tonight so that is good. Going to bed early.

We went to bed early, too. Couldn't sty awake. On to the 2nd sleeve of the wee coat but seems like slow going when I'm dozing more than I'm knitting.
Microsoft did automatic updates on our computer yesterday and now our TM site is covered in drop down advertising again. Last time it disappeared after a couple of days so here's hoping again. I've got a 4 hour meeting over this side of town today and was really hoping not to have to over to office and have an early day. But more sick staff means I'm working on programmes again. Had to yesterday as well but trying very hard to get a reliever's pool up and running. Our usual reliever is filling in permanently for a worker on parental leave, I have another one signed up once police checks are done and 2 more available from the end of the month. What's the bet I won't need them by then. LOL.

Feel much better after a good nights sleep. Just took my car to the garage so spending the day with my daughter. I have my knitting lol. Yes you most likely won't need the other workers by then.

Crafts are my passion too, but I'm so tired of seeing "crafts is my pasion" on here, I wish someone would put a stop to it, please, please, someone start a new thread with the correct spelling and diction... please?

Buzzybee, please read the first few threads of this message board from the lady who started it many years ago. We don't know whether she survived her illness but this message board, spelling and grammar mistakes and all are a tribute to her courage. If it wasn't for her I would not have made the friends I have met through here.

I agree whole heartedly

Speaking of That. So wonder how she is. I think smart girl had made contact with her years ago. I'm going to look through my old diaries to see if I can find Jos number. Knitting my sleeves at last. More stuff for my daughter to deal with. The deal is off the table so she will be going to court.

Just had a lovely chat to smartgirl. Whoop whoop.

Oh no, that is so awful for your daughter. I remember you all being so relieved when you thought it was all over for her. My friend is thinking about doing the same. She's got a her money but he kept $10,000 for things he thinks he's owed. I'm starting to think her lawyer was pretty dodgy letting all the money go into one person's account instead of being split from the start.
How is Smartgirl? Does she still read us now and then? And any news of Zoey? I think of her often. I saw suy59nz yesterday, she's looking well but I hardly see her at all anymore. Everyone has busy lives. Sigh.

Smartgirl is doing well. Told her to pop in at any time. She went to see Zoe but couldn't get hold of her. Don't know what happened and why Z was banned off TM. I looked back to see if I could find sisters contact but I couldn't. Yes everyone is busy alright. I'm baking J gluten free bread today. Two of my sons have been to see me today and that was lovely. Early Mothers Day because I'm at the beach tonight. Lovely Sheepskin slippers, chocolates and $50. Spoilt I am. Lol. I go through slippers like paper. I told my son to get cheaper ones but he didn't listen. My daughter got me some from Zierra last year and the inner soles did not last. They cost a fortune so I told them to go to Farmers. Windy here so good washing day. Must pack my overnight bag. Have to take K to a Birthday Party tomorrow in a house Bus. That will be interesting as long as it doesn't rain ha ha

Happy Mother's Day. I am watching Land of Mist with K5. Wearing my new slippers. Need them it's cool up here but not as cool as down south I bet.

Yep, a bit chilly down here the last couple of mornings. Not quite a frost yet.
I had a lovely day yesterday, ran some errasnds, including going to Hands for buttons and knitting needles. I've never had 3.5mm needles ever and now I have a few patterns that mention them. Found my daughter at home by the time I got back, ready to chat so went out for coffee. Then went to The Warehouse so she could stock up up uniforms and staple pieces of clothing for B5. His Dad is being a bit difficult and B comes to daughter's for this week so who knows what he will put in the bag. Clothing and toys were supposed to have been halved by now but he won't answer calls. S. hasn't been able to talk to B all week. She also went through another medical procedure this week on her own, didn't mention she had booked in (GRRRRRR) but one of her 'dates' thought she sounded a bit off and arrived with Thai for tea, flowers and chocolates. All the years she has had to go through these things and this is the first time she has been spoilt , except by us of course. Mother's Day was good to me too, LOL, fudge, bath salts and flowers. Lovely.

I put the buttons on the wee coat, after 2 trips to get the right size buttons. The second lot were a better colour as well. Plus I've made 4 wee teddy jerseys and 2 pairs of baby sox and the back and most of the first front of a crossover cardy. No gardening done this weekend though and so many visitors again. Even had a wee visit from B5 as Mum needed us to pick up a lawnmower she had bought on TM. Not a bad weekend all in all. LOL.

Very productive grizzly. Yes the clothes and toys should have been sorted before. It's going to be hard for your girl. Hugs to her. Oh that is so nice someone is spoiling her. I got more pressies yesterday. Lucky me. I am going to the gym this morning. Last week was first week back after three weeks but I have to keep going. Feel better for it. It is good for my constitution lol and my sanity. Ha ha. Then when I get home I am going to sew until I go back tonight to my other girls. It's only an 8 hour shift on Tuesday and Thursday so I will get back before dark yippee.

makerealbany - 2014-05-12 08:17:00
6065

Sounds like a long day all the same. What are you sewing? My machine s sitting already to go but all it gets is the occasional mending. I still have fabric sitting here for projects from the summer before last. Sigh. Gave the audit over to the accountant yesterday at work, they were kind enough to pick it up instead of me going up the elevator in one of the new buildings in the inner city. But they are trying to make us use an accounting software package where we are still happy to be in the dark ages with a cash book and excel. I might have to look into if it saves us money in the long run as we have 3 audits done each year and it may enable us to get away with one. And all u for saving that money. Depends on how much time and stress is involved learning a new system. I went to a meeting on Thursday on the 4th floor of a building in which staff stayed out for a year after the earthquakes. It moved the whole time we were in there (4 hour meeting)! Now that was really stressful. And then we had a '4' on Saturday that shook our poor house for ages.

My goodness, I actually got a days work done yesterday at my desk!!!! Oh for more days like that.

6067

Oh I could not have sat there in that building grizzly. Bugger that. I was sewing a skirt and then Quilting. Just finished my vest but have to sew it up and do the bands. Had to throw it to the side and knit a pretty pink Feathers scarf for my neighbour. She's 7 on Sunday. I have finished the scarf and started on her beanie which has a feather brim. Then I have to do a scarf and beanie to match for her doll. Lol. Software programmes are great if loaded right. I used Cash Manager. Really liked it. Much quicker and I could print out all sorts if reports. Go for it ha ha. Looks like the legal battles will carry on for my girl for another 18 months. Lesson to be learned here . Spouses leave your partner the money. Do not think you are doing what is best for them by putting it in a Trust. Trustees may have their own agenda. My Sil was an idiot.

We have everything in both names so hopefully that helps. Our Wills are through Public Trust but hearing not so good stories about how much they take at the end so might change soon. The cost of Power of Attorney stuff is horrendous too so have avoided that so far. We had a guest speaker from Community Energy Action at Women's Group yesterday. He was brilliant, giving so much information no matter what our individual circumstances are, and the free services they offer families with Community Service cards is excellent even when they are renting. They have suggested a solution for the big triangle windows about the big windows in our lounge. I know we lose so much heat through them but drapes are impossible for them. I think we will try the false double glazing idea and see how that goes. With having exposed beams in the living area I guess there's no insulation above either.

Yay it's Friday!!!!!!!! It's not been a bad week this week, lots of work done at my desk for a change. Had a visit yesterday from people I used to work with nearly 15 years ago. Lovely to catch up, brought back some great memories. It was sad to hear the man I had been looking for who I used to have supervision with, died a few years back. That was a bit hard to take.
Hopefully a quiet weekend ahead. L6 turns 7 so we have his potluck tea tomorrow night which will be nice and I guess we will have some time with S. and B6 before he goes to his Dad's for next week.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-16 06:28:00

Sad day here. One of the young men in the neighbourhood died. They gave him a lovely send off and tonight let Lanterns go into the sky. I feel very sorry for his family. It has been a busy day but still had time to reflect on the good times we have as a family. I am now knitting dolls clothes. Ah they are so tiny lol. Going to the book fair tomorrow with K5 as he wants more bug, fish and reptile books lol. Rotary have a huge annual sale here. It's getting colder at nights and in the mornings so the extra blankets and flannelette sheets are going on the beds. I even wore slacks today. Heard from Suzy yet?

makerealbany - 2014-05-16 18:30:00
6071

No I haven't heard from Suzy! Was really surprised when her resignation from the shop committee was tabled at the meeting on Tuesday night. I had only seen her a few days before and she never mentioned anything. I guess she's just too busy these days. My landline has been on the blink at home for a week! I've tried to contact Telecom on my cell and from work and each time they disconnect my call whether it's during the initial process or when they call me back. I know there are messages on there but I can't access them. It rings but when we pick up it's dead most times, definitely can't dial out. I guess someone will need to come out but trying to organise that in time for when I'm home is a nightmare!
I am currently knitting a hoodie jersey in cotton for an order. She designed the pattern herself but now it looks like I'm going to run out of yarn.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-17 06:39:00
6072

Oh that's a pity about Suzy. Yes we are all flat out and sometimes it's hard to fit things in. Going to Ls party this arvo. Finished her dolls scarf and beanie to match hers. M said " nana that's cute" so stamp of approval. She played netball yesterday and got player of the day for her team. Funny thing she played her Bestee's team and L also got player of the day for her team. So the girls will be showing of at Ls party. Thank goodness it's just next door. K saw his grandfather at the Book Sale yesterday. It was a nice surprise for both of them. They had not seen each other for a year. He is so frail. I was pleased his wife wasn't there. Don't think I could face her without telling her what I think. K's grandfather would not even comprehend what the legal battles are. It took him awhile to recognise his grandson. Don't think his eyes are very good now. Poor old man. Got three days at home so I have lots to do here lol. Gardens, etc need care.

Both of us are home sick today! Had a great weekend with L's birthday, he's now 7 and yesterday completed our rockery project, although I. now has a letter box project because it's a bit shabby for it to be that close to our rockery. LOL. Treated ourselves to a curry for tea and have been unwell ever since. Have just got up for showers and a cup of tea. Such a shame to end the weekend like that!

grizzly4 - 2014-05-19 11:26:00
6074

You poor things. I spent the day in my pjs and had a bath at 3 lol. Had a great time at L's party and then last night I had J3 sleep over so his mum could get a decent nights sleep. He woke at 12.30 very distressed. Got him back to sleep but I couldn't sleep properly worrying about him. After his dad came over to get him, his sister came over lol. She wasn't well so didn't go to school. After she went home I tidied up and then dozed in my chair ha ha. I put Chicken and Apricots in the slow cooker and dozed again. Woke up and baked some scones. Had a bath and then knitted. I have just finished a leg warmer for M and will start the other one after I bake some rolled oats biscuits.

makerealbany - 2014-05-19 18:07:00
6075

Such a lazy day yesterday, Hardly moved from my chair once I was up. Trouble was then I didn't sleep too well last night and I. had an early start this morning. I'm still working on a hoodie jersey order for the shop. It's only supposed to be a size 1-2 years but it seems enormous and feels like it's taking forever. I just have one sleeve to go then I can sew it all up and get rid of it. I can't say I have enjoyed knitting this one at all which is why it feels like forever, I guess.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-20 05:44:00
6076

Yes I know that feeling. Only got half of the leg warmer done. Went to the gym and then worked in the garden all day. Bit stiff now but Anti Flamme is my best friend lol. My darn hips are still creaking. Was watching this Quilting sewing machine but still unsure if I'll bid. Going to check more reviews first.

makerealbany - 2014-05-20 19:05:00
6077

You will be proud of me. I read the reviews and did not bid hola.

makerealbany - 2014-05-20 19:43:00
6078

Aren't you a good girl?! So restrained. LOL. The days just fly by at work, employing another programme assistant this week and so many funding applications due this time of year. I've finished the cotton jersey, now have to sew it up. Not sure what to do next. Maybe some beanies.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-21 06:50:00
6079

I have lots of jobs to do today at home. Weather not so great but at lest I sprayed the weeds yesterday. Going to finish UFOS. Too many hanging around lol. Need a clean slate. Want to come back from my girls without tripping over little bits and pieces lol. I love knitting in cotton.

makerealbany - 2014-05-21 11:31:00
6080

Little K woke his Mummy at 4.30 with a sore tummy so he will be staying home today. Daughter and older grandson have gone to work so very quiet here. Going to knit until K gets up. Even his little dog is tired lol.

makerealbany - 2014-05-22 06:23:00
6081

Thought you were up early! Poor K. I'm a bit stressed and feeling the pressure of too many things needing to be sorted at once. Luckily my son has bought another car so they are back to having 2 cars to sort themselves out instead of using me as a taxi a couple of times a week. Doing that yesterday in time for the first interview was very stressful. The other stuff will sort itself out in time, I just need to be patient. But, honestly, staffing is a #%*#*! One leaves tomorrow, one has had a family emergency and is away for a week, people applying for jobs aren't even in the same city and can't get to interviews let alone start on Monday when they need to, Sigh. They say working with babies and animals is hard - just working with people full stop is hard! Dealing with their crisis when I was family support worker was easier than this. It's so ongoing! I really have to sew this jersey up, too. I don't normally put things off this much. LOL. I really just want to go and paint my letterbox. Haha.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-22 06:55:00
6082

And it's Friday again, I feel like life is just zooming by. LOL. Finally managed to get through to Telecom Fault Service yesterday after 2 weeks of trying from landline at work and from my cell phone. We have had no landline at home for 2 weeks. They won't talk about a credit for that time but they do keep mentioning that if it turns out to be faulty equipment rather than the line itself they will charge us $139! They only have 1 space left for someone to come and wouldn't you know it it's when I'm due at the shop AGM tomorrow! I. is having to not work so he can be here which is a pain when he won't get paid for Monday off this week either. Got a call back from Cigna last night and finally sorted out Funeral Insurance. One of those things I keep meaning to do.... you know how it is. LOL. Amazing how many calls I got last night now that Telecom are diverting our landline through my cell. And they were all companies touting for business. Sigh. Grrrr to those continual internet repair ones!!!

grizzly4 - 2014-05-23 06:37:00
6083

Yes it's Friday and guess who woke up with Shingles. I had them just over a month ago, took the course of Aclicovir and it's not darn working. Grrrrr ah well I'm not going to GP until next week. I can't be bothered . Staffing is a pain alright. Couldn't go to gym as it would be too darn painful. Nerve endings firing lol. Going to Spotlight, then the Bowling Club for Bingo, then have to babysit tonight so my girl and Sil can go out. Kids go to bed early so I can knit. Last night I watched American Idol and was rocking in my lazy boy and knitting. I enjoyed the show. Ha ha. The Tordon I sprayed on the weeds is not working yet. Other stuff works faster. Mmmmmm. I'm so impatient lol. What colour are you going to paint your letterbox? Yes Telecom is useless and that is why they make Millions of profit. Don't provide the service but still charge for it. I've got slacks on and a warm top. Going to wear a warm jacket too as it's a bit chilly out of the sun. Very windy at the Bowling Club across the road from the beach. Good on you for sorting out Cigna . I transfered my life Insurance to my sons so they can pay whatever and divide so I am sorted. Try and have a good day.

makerealbany - 2014-05-23 10:37:00
6084

Off to Netball to watch M. Good day for it.

makerealbany - 2014-05-24 10:01:00
6085

We have life insurance too but it doesn't pay out as fast. Cigna is supposed to be 48 hours. I did have a good day yesterday, I think I got to a point where I went with the flow when one of the decisions needed to be made. LOL. There will be consequences but not necessarily for me so we'll see if the other person has a change of mind by middle of next week. Getting young staff to see the bigger picture is difficult. Letterbox is going to be bottle green with a brighter green, metallic lizard climbing up the front. LOL. That should be done today and the phone should be fixed. Fingers crossed and I will go to the AGM.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-24 10:20:00
6086

Oh Letter Box sounds great. Wet and windy here last night but nice at the moment. Running again today but good stuff. Finished Ms second pair of leg warmers last night. Grandson in Christchurch wants his navy blue scarf and beanie so will start that today. At lest when K is in bed I can knit. Only take small things to knit up there. Don't have to concentrate ha ha. My Life Insurance pays out within a week. Young people rarely see the bigger picture grizzly. Shame but don't think their brains are wired that way lol.

makerealbany - 2014-05-25 09:18:00
6087

Hope you get that scarf and beanie done quick! It's supposed to be -5 overnight tonight LOL. Letterbox done, AGM done, Vacuumed behind the bed and cleaned behind the microwave and phone fixed - not our equipment so no charge to us. Yippee! Quite a productive day yesterday. Today going to plant nursery for plants for rockery this morning.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-25 10:21:00
6088

Well certainly not -5 this morning but doesn't look good for tomorrow. Bought more rockery plants yesterday as planned plus some poly's for a flower bed round the back. I love their colours during the winter. I saw I. giving he cabbage tree a good shake so he's obviously thinking about our next project. LOL. I knew their was a second but I found a third cabbage tree has grown as well although still quite small. Goodness they breed like rabbits! Haha.

Very cool letterbox. My ranunculus are flowering duh. It's cold and windy. I am working on my quilt. Will knit up at my girls tonight and tomorrow. Going to have some hot food. Starving.

makerealbany - 2014-05-26 14:05:00
6091

It's -10 down here currently!!!!!!!! Poor I. is already at work and thinking it's -5. I think I will wait till sun is up before leaving for work. LOL. I am currently working on a crocheted blanket towards the shop's donation to Burwood Maternity Hospital. We have agreed to provide blankets and beanies. They are only small blankets so it's a great way of using up odd bits of wool.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-27 06:27:00
6092

Just got home about 40 mins or so ago. Time runs away. Heat pump on and j is sitting on his lazy boy curled up. Great lives cats have lol. There was a frost this morning in Orewa. I have never seen one there before in 9 years. K5 was amazed. Ha ha. I like crocheting little blankets and it is a good way to use up bits and pieces as you say. Going to knit. Still doing that scarf. No knitting last night. Poor I brrr. -10 Lordy that is cold. The sun came out and I got all our washing dry including the sheets. I take my washing with me to my daughters and do it all up there. She has a huge machine which is great. Spending so much time there I have to be clever ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-05-27 19:51:00
6093

Very clever indeed. Whereas I'm stuck with all the laundry for work because the supervisor who left last week left a whole basket of it locked in the storage room. I couldn't understand why there were no teatowels for dishes yesterday! Mind you I have stuffed here at home. I confirmed with Mum and Dad on Sunday that we would be up this weekend for a visit. Txt daughter to ask her to feed the cats while we are away and she said "How can you go away when you said you would have B5 this weekend?!"
#*%^ I had completely forgotten and she is struggling to find someone else. I am very ticked that DIL and son won't have him because DIL has an exam in 2 weeks and has to study! After all the running around I've done for her lately, too. We are only talking one afternoon and one night. He goes back to his Dad's Sunday morning. I feel awful being torn between letting S. down and changing plans with Mum and Dad. MInd you it might be taken out of my hands if I.'s cold comes to anything. He woke up with a sore throat this morning and I daren't any bugs up to Blenheim to my parents. The week not going so well so far. Sigh. One blanket done to donate now working on dressing a baby doll for the shop.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-28 06:32:00
6094

Oh you poor thing. Fancy licking the laundry in the storage room duh. Dil is very inconsiderate. The exam I two weeks away. Ridiculous. Sometimes a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do grizzly. Your parents are at the top of the ladder if your own children are not working or are sick. Mum always says K5 is at the top of my ladder because his Mum has to work and she does it alone. My kids will ask if I have anything planned on weekends. I always mind K at lest one day a weekend. Sometimes my girl works both days. But if she is not working they check with me and if I can't babysit they can't go where ever and no one gets precious about it. I'm waiting until T has a weekend off and then I'm going to visit Mum. Too cold for her to be out and about now. I'm knitting the darn scarf. Too long but he's 6 ft and he wants a looooong one . Lol

makerealbany - 2014-05-28 21:10:00
6095

I meant locking lol

makerealbany - 2014-05-28 21:11:00
6096

I hope you are doing the scarf on big needles. LOL. I like your ladder concept, makes me feel a bit better. I'll bet S. has it all sorted but my family only relays bad stuff not the good bits, so she has forgotten to tell me. DIL isn't speaking to me, can you believe it? I saw her Tuesday when she picked up the boys and she said S had asked her to have B but 'of course' she had to say no because of her studies. I told her I didn't know whether I was going to be able to go away or not now and she left. Yesterday she stood by my office door talking to the boys and then just left! No hello, no nothing. Luckily I was really busy so I couldn't over think it, but why is she upset for goodness sake? Has to be part of a drama all the time that girl. LOL. Based on your ladder, I have to go see Mum and Dad, they would be really disappointed if I didn't now.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-29 07:08:00
6097

No I'm doing it on size 4mm he wants it fine grrrr lol. Sometimes drama queens can be so annoying. Ignore her back. Yes we are not just glorified babysitters go and see your Mum and Dad. You will have lots of years to babysit yes sirree. Going to get a haircut this morning then go look at electric blankets for my daughter. Got some new cushions at Farmers on the weekend. Was $50 got them for $20. Have really admired them but at $50 I just walked on by ha ha. Spent my $40 voucher at Spotlight. Got quilting tools, expensive cottons, wool, etc. Came to $160 but with discounts and voucher only paid $82. I was very pleased. I have been saving for some of the Tools. Got nearly everything I need bar the kitchen sink ha ha. Have a nice day.

makerealbany - 2014-05-29 09:42:00
6098

Now you need the time to use them! LOL. What do you know, just as I suspected S had it all sorted but hadn't let me know I'm off the hook. I feel like a weight's been lifted now and I can finally look forward to my weekend in Blenheim. Even have some fabric to deliver that sold on TM while I'm there. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-30 06:16:00
