Gosh, yesterday I felt like time was standing still. I was working on a funding application most of the day and the clock just didn't seem to move! I felt like I was really busy but obviously not enough. LOL.

Just cleaned my girls 4 bedroom house for her and finished my cottage. Last load of washing to be hung after my shower. Already had one but need another. Hectic week everyone running. My back is improving yah. Got to stay up the beach tonight. Daughter working tomorrow. Wednesday night I had K and his little dog with J gone on her course no one at home. He had a ball with my Foxie so that was good. P keeps coming to look for him. He loves the company of other little dogs. Well gotta keep moving. Have a nice day.

Today our organisation is providing a family event at the Antarctic Centre. The cost is a huge barrier for families in our areas usually so this is a great opportunity. I. and I are taking B5 as his Mum is working. I am hoping his parents have talked to him about all the changes happening in his life next week. They are giving him only a short space of time to process it all while they are still all together.

I hope they are talking to him about it as well. My daughter is home as she has a migraine so I am taking K out to chipmunks. Just trying to get others to come ha ha. K freaks out if his Mum is unwell or away. Got to keep him occupied. When we come back going to build a Bug Hotel. Yep lol. He took his book he won to Preschool and they built one there yesterday. He got some lovely prizes for winning the Pumpkin Competition. There us a Family Day with bouncy castles and the works free in our Community tomorrow. A lot of the families that live near the prison in the old warders houses could never afford to pay . We have a really good community here. Some know it alls but we ignore them ha ha. People always willing to help. Lots if activities that are free to encourage conservation, etc. Ah well must run. I should be losing kilos but I am not. Haven't been to the gym all week. Next week

It was a great day yesterday spent 2 and 1/2 hours walking around, standing in snow storms and watching penguins. Daughter S. made it in time, too which was great. They told B5 last night when they went home from here. S. said he asked adult questions about detail stuff and practically told them he knew they were getting a divorce! No-one we know has mentioned that word so who knows. He wanted it clarified whether Mum would ever live in that house again, she said no she had a new house, and would she ever live with Dad again, she said no to that too. He said he knew that was because Daddy was always angry and mean to Mummy. And he said all this in front of his Dad! Out of the mouths of babes, eh? He is excited about going to his Granny's for the school holidays so we'll see how it all pans out. Pew! for now.

6006

Aw what a great day you had yesterday. Penguins and snow. lovely I so like Penguins. B5 is a clever little boy. Glad he's excited about going to his Granny's. I'm home again.wrenched my shoulder so today had Anti Flamme on most of the day even had it on my back. Belted my leg with the car door and sliced it a beauty. I notice if my back is bad my balance goes a bit awry duh. Anyway I cannot find my knitting pattern for my cardi. Was sure I packed it but no. Had a search after I had rung Mum who is fine lol still cannot find it. Darn gremlins again lol

You have been in the wars! My goodness and what a nuisance about the pattern. I spent the evening knitting body parts for more finger puppets. Will sew them all up during the long weekend hopefully. We are moving all S.'s furniture into her new house on Saturday and I want to Rug Doctor our carpets on Sunday. But, of course, there's 4 days of work to get through first. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-14 06:20:00
6008

I hope you've found your pattern by now!
I am working on one of the wool projects that I stored in my wee shelves. LOL. Trouble is it's 12ply wool and I don't have any 12ply patterns. I went on Ravelry and found a nice wee jacket and beanie. I went to start it and it's on 8mm needles and worked from the top down. LOL. I feel like I'm doing everything back to front and on broom sticks! But at least I;m using the wool up!

grizzly4 - 2014-04-15 06:27:00
6009

Whoop whoop found my pattern down the side of the Lazy boy. I nearly tore my place apart looking for it. So pleased I found it. Got ironing and polishing the silver to do this morning then I can knit for awhile . Busy with grand kids and dog minding lol. My grandson from Christchurch is coming on Thursday with his girlfriend and staying until Monday so it will be nice to see him. They will have to sleep in my lounge on the fold out couch but they don't mind. Everyone has a full house with it being Easter. Windy here but no rain yet. Got my trackies on so it is colder.

makerealbany - 2014-04-15 09:45:00
6010

I bet you did a wee dance when you found your pattern, sore back or not. LOL. I would have! I pulled out what I had knitted of the 12ply jacket after I downloaded a needle conversion chart and found I should have been using 5mm not 8mm. I knew it didn't feel right and looks much better now. The Women's Group are decorating cakes for Easter today, it seems to be one of their favourite activities - must be all the eggs they pile on the top LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-16 06:30:00
6011

K4 who is 5 on May 1 graduated from Preschool today so we had a cake and presents, etc. Very moving the teachers are lovely and some of us were holding back the tears. Hugs and kisses everywhere. Another one off to school. He still looks tiny to me even though he is average weight and height lol. Going up there to stay tonight, my girl is working tomorrow. Got my knitting and Pattern lol

Awful night up here. Terrible storm howled all night. Windows shook and I was sure the darn big old Pohutukawa would fall down . Wonder what mess I will go home too. Most likely my verandah will be chaos. I wasn't aware we were going to have a storm. That's what happens when you don't watch the news lol. Got seedlings that were doing nicely on an outside table mmmmmm

Wondered why you are up so early! I hope your place is safe when you get home to check. Thank goodness it's the last day of the week. I am so behind in my work because I have had to work on the programmes 6 of the last 9 days because of staff away. I hope this isn't a sign of the winter to come! I seriously need to find more relief staff if it is. The easter cakes turned out great yesterday and the group was in fine form to finish off the term. They are a lovely bunch of ladies and most are so supportive of each other. The next wee while is going to be difficult for daughter S. She's been busy packing the last few days for her move on Saturday. I. has booked a trailer for early in the morning but I had to remind him that we have to wait for SIL (ex, now I guess) to leave to take B5 to his grannies in Dunedin. I don't want to rush S. through that process, it will be hard enough for her to say goodbye for that long.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-17 06:45:00
6014

Preschool is closed due to a power cut so I am glad we all decided not to take the kids out in this weather. I would have been really upset if I had driven all that way and found it closed lol. Yes this weekend will be hard for S but you'll be there with her so she will be okay. Not many people have a super mum like you grizzly. My poor grandson and his girl friend are flying up late tonight. That is if the airports are open. Cool about the Easter cakes.

makerealbany - 2014-04-17 10:03:00
6015

Yuk, yuk, yuk weather! As it improved up your way today? Have to see if we can book a covered trailer for tomorrow just in case it's still raining. A home day today with macaroni cheese for tea. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-18 10:55:00
6016

The rain left, the sun came out and it was really hot. Kids arrived last night at 12. I said hi and went back to sleep lol had a good day tonight. A took them up to see T at the beach and I stayed at home. Managed to mow lawns. Was pretty darn shakey when I had finished though. I cooked tea and my visitors went to bed early. I am going to bed as well.

makerealbany - 2014-04-18 21:58:00

Wasn't a lazy home day for us either in the end yesterday. Caught up on some housework in the morning, then found daughter taking loads of small stuff to her house with some friends, had lunch at Denny's with them and stayed to unpack and put stuff away. Got home about 4. Her wee house is lovely, in a development of 12 up a private lane. All the other residents are older so hopefully they keep an eye out for each other. I hate thinking of her on her own especially when B5's not there either. Didn't sleep well last night worrying about all that.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-19 08:08:00
6018

She'll be ok. Had another busy day. Family get together now everything is over and I am ready for bed.

makerealbany - 2014-04-19 21:29:00
6019

Waited yesterday for the all clear that C. had left with B5 so we could bring trailer round. Just as we got there he arrived back and stormed into the house, growled at me on the way past. Only stayed a minute with some weird excuse why he came back and then left. I had an awful feeling about it which stayed with me the whole day. Was so pleased we were there when he came back. But S. is all moved in and her wee house looks gorgeous. B's room is all set up for when he sees it in 3 weeks.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-20 10:47:00
6020

Good thing you were there. I'm as mad as hell. One f my new windscreen blades just came off car this morning . I was washing the car. Looks like they did not put it on correctly the first time. Had to borrow a car off my girl to come up. It has rained on and off and didn't want to take the risk grrrr Will get my neighbour to check it out when I get home tomorrow . Left my K and S in my cottage alone for the night. They were already skimming Sky to see what was on. Neither of them have Sky in their flats. They had a big basket of eggs as well. Told them to cook themselves Pork Chops for tea.

makerealbany - 2014-04-20 17:23:00
6021

My neighbour has checked the windscreen wiper and something is missing because he did exactly what I did and it's too loose so will have to get it fixed. Grandson has left to fly back your way. It was a very nice stress less visit. Just the kind I like ha ha. Back to my daughters now before it gets dark.

makerealbany - 2014-04-21 16:28:00
6022

Boy, you must clock up some mileage. LOL. What a hectic weekend! S. all settled in with only one drama over weekend with her arriving here at 2.30am Monday morning. All sorted now apparently. Woke up at 9.30 after going back to bed when I really needed to be up much earlier to tidy up and get some lunch things in for my sister's visit. What a panic to get organised. Actually managed to get more than half of the flower beds weeded and trimmed back this weekend which feels great, hopefully will finish them this weekend coming , weather being kind. We had 3 days over Easter that were just like Summer again, absolutely wonderful! Holiday Programme starts today so early starts this week. My ex-boss is in town today to catch up for lunch, kind of looking forward to seeing her, it's a weird mix of feelings really. I joke about not forgiving her for leaving but there just might be some truth to it. I think everyone expects me to be raving over how I love this new role but actually I don't and not sure I ever will. When we were talking to S about getting used to being on your own and how it takes time etc I said the only way I can make myself go to work these days is to look at the specific tasks for that morning or that day. If I looked at the big picture which I always have done, I would run a mile. I think she was a bit shocked as I have always loved my job. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-22 06:14:00
6023

Yes petrol is my biggest cost but my daughter gives me petrol money lol. Back home and have my sons Moodle who I adore staying with me until Sunday. So he is my other little shadow. My dog gets on like a house on fire with him. So excited to see each other. We all went to the Lego Movie today. Two adults and. 5 kids. The kids talk and laugh all the way through ha ha. I am pleased to be alone tonight mmmmmmmm sometimes you need peace and quiet lol. It rained over Easter here. I must admit I never raved about how I loved my last job. There are never enough hours in the day. I used to do what you do. As long as I met all the deadlines I was pleased. Going to do some knitting now. I feel physically tired but mentally I need to unwind. Knitting is great for that.

makerealbany - 2014-04-22 19:59:00
6024

Totally agree with winding down with knitting! Even if I'm falling asleep over the needles. I'm working on an a really old matinee jacket pattern, slow going even though it's only a 4 row pattern. It's rather nice doing something that doesn't have a modern stamp on it. As for work well the programme is off out on a swimming trip today so I have a quiet (fingers crossed) few hours to work on the GST. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-23 06:28:00
6025

Wonder how smart girl is. Heard from the Lass I helped out and her little boy is 5 months. She sent me a lovely card and a photo. Doing well. I was really pleased to hear from her. A young Mum of four was killed the other day on our road we travel most days to take kids to Preschool. So tragic her youngest is only 3months old was breastfed. A truck crashed into her car. Don't know who was at fault. You just never know what is around the corner .

makerealbany - 2014-04-23 21:17:00
6026

That is awful! Dreadful for the family. Smartgirl and Suzy59nz must be busy people these days. Just conquer the GST at work and now one of the programme supervisor's has resigned. Sigh.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-24 06:21:00
6027

Oh my goodness just when you take a step forward, back you go. I flattened my daughters car battery today. I have been using it so washed and cleaned it and left the darn key turned off. Sigh. Just another stupid thing I have done lately.

makerealbany - 2014-04-24 22:09:00
6028

I know what you mean. I seem to have a run of things like that too lately. Something in the air maybe? LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-25 10:14:00
6029

Boy, did I have a lazy day yesterday, red my book most of the day and went out to lunch. LOL. Ordered in pizza for tea and hired 2 DVD's for the evening. I must have needed a rest. I need to make for it for the rest of the weekend though, I have 2 pairs of pants to hem, buttons to put on a wee jacket, finger puppets and matinee jacket to finish, the rest of the flower beds to tidy, lasagne to make for tea. But then again there's the rest of my book to read.... LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-26 10:15:00
6030

Omg I seem to be in the dumps lately. I loaded T my sons Moodle into my car with his cage, food, my overnight bag, etc about 10 last night after my girl finished work, drove up the road and put my window up and it started to pop out. Drove back to my daughters and we tried to fix it but no luck. Swapped cars, unloaded, then loaded, etc. Had another coffee because I was a wreck, then drive home. At home let T out for a pee with my dog who was sleeping in hid bed on my back verandah. After dogs were settle put on my electric blanket and looked for my glasses. Yep you guessed it I left my shoulder bag with my wallet, phone, IPad and glasses on my daughters kitchen table. Found my spare glasses, read two pages and fell asleep. Back at my daughters again. So have to book my car in this week to get repairs done. Boys got the window up and told me not to open it. Sigh. Fitting inside needs replacing . So tired going to bed now.

makerealbany - 2014-04-26 21:42:00
6031

Oh dear, you are in the wars! Makes for a very funny read though, so thank you. My head cold over the past 4 days has now turned into a really sore throat! Shouldn't have that happened first. I can't be sick, just no time for that!

grizzly4 - 2014-04-27 10:18:00
6032

Regardless of I how feel at least I achieved all the goals I set myself yesterday. I have 2 jackets, a beanie and 2 finger puppets to take into shop this morning. One jacket is in the old Random wool by Lyric, I think this was the first variegated wool that I remember and I have just started another retro style pattern in the a different shade of the same wool. And the matinee jacket from the really old pattern I bought is truly lovely. Once again I have been foiled in taking photos as I. has taken camera to work to take photos of his truck. I mean to say, what's more important?!
I have to go into work before going to shop because of the holiday programme. Weather looks pretty dodgy so not sure we will get the outing to Willowbank. Such a shame.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-28 06:15:00
6033

Darn cheek taking the camera for photos of his truck lol. Finally at home again tonight yippee. Got K4 with me and still have Teddy the Moodle. Too wet to take him home beside have not got Griff the Griffon tonight as C 20 is minding him. Poor G ha ha. K's older brother is home tonight and his Mum is on a night shift. Took M6 to swimming lessons this morning. The chlorine was so strong my eyes watered and I started sniffing. I have not knitted for three days. Two dogs and the kids tired me out ha ha. I will knit tonight, still doing my cardi. Gosh you are so good at finishing all your projects. Puts me to shame lol. Anyway have to cook tea and get a move on.

makerealbany - 2014-04-28 16:16:00
6034

And still it rains! The poor people in St Albans will be flooded again and they are forecasting our first frost Thursday morning so it will be nasty driving to work with so much water about. I went by the Met SErvice graphs yesterday which showed only showers until late afternoon yesterday so the programme went to Willowbank..... and it started raining on the way. To their credit apart from a couple of moaners, 1 child, 1 staff, they only came back half an hour early. They even walked to a local aquarium before getting back on the bus. AND they were smiling when they got back. Hooray. All credit to the new team, they are doing a brilliant job. I managed to finish a front last night,to a jacket I've started in more of the random wool despite a sore back and nasty throat still.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-29 06:17:00
6035

And still I have a sore throat. I'm so reluctant to go to the doctor for just a bad cold. Had a long day at work yesterday surrounded by 26 children plus staff. LOL. I cleaned up all those little jobs that clutter your desk, if you know what I mean. Although they are never as little as they look it appears. For example had a questionnaire to complete for our insurance renewal, went to look for last years paperwork for policy number etc and couldn't find it anywhere. Whilst looking decided to clear out all the stuff to put in the audit box for the accountant next week, found insurance stuff from 2 years ago which at least had the information I needed BUT then couldn't find the petty cash book for the audit............found it just as I was about to leave for the day. Very weird day! At least they are off swimming for a few hours today so I won't have so many interruptions either.

grizzly4 - 2014-04-30 06:50:00
6036

Omg I feel so sorry for all those in the flooding areas. Saw it on the news. The darn basin just keeps flooding. I don't know how they cope. There would be some very unwell people there. Bloody government won't do anything until council asks. Council is going to write another report. Yep that will help. It's not as if it's a new problem. Insurance companies putting a 10,000 dollar excess means nothing will be fixed in their homes. So if they walk still have to pay mortgage unless they file for bankruptcy . They are all in a very hard place.

makerealbany - 2014-04-30 09:13:00
6037

I agree it's an awful situation for those people and it's not the only pocket of homes being hit on a regular basis. The lady we saw on tv being loaded into a boat in the March floods has lived by the river for fifty years without flooding her house. It's been flooded 3 times in 5 weeks just like Flockton St, she may never return to her home now as she's moved into a retirement home until it's fixed. Fat chance! You should have seen the river flooding all through the areas that already been red- zoned as well! And yet this time it wasn't supposed to be as bad, huh! Actually worse, there was water over the banks in places I've never seen flood. We could be another Venice! LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-01 06:24:00
6038

Not as pretty as Venice though lol. I have a feeling there will be no short term easy solutions to the flooding problems. Dreadful state of affairs. K is 5 today. How is your daughter and grandson getting on? J3 is now on a dairy free gluten free diet for a week. Last week it was dairy free only. Sigh. Research proves links with Kawasakis and food allergies. In some cases they have had the food allergies or intolerances before the Kawasakis. One thing after another here it seems lately.

makerealbany - 2014-05-01 14:59:00
6039

It's hard trying to organise family meals around that and for him to understand why he can't have something, too, I guess. S. is doing well. Last week was the worst when she was off work as well as no B5. She almost complicated her life when a friendship she has had for a coupe of years nearly turned into something else just because she hates being on her own. Sorted that thank goodness and now she's back to work this week so will keep her out of mischief. After all the negative feedback she's had over 12 years from her husband she accepted 2 coffee dates and a dinner date this week with business men that have been around but she hasn't been aware of them. Funny, eh? Hopefully she won't rush into anything else for awhile and B5 is back in town today and will spend tomorrow with his Mum as Dad is playing league. Her first actual week with him starts next weekend. My cold is something more apparently and I'm on antibiotics. I have a dreadful looking cold sore under my nose which is so embarrassing for work today. I've had the occasional little one on my lip before but treat them really quickly. This is something else entirely, apparently I've been overdoing things!!!!!!! Not sure what I can do about that when I provide transport for programme supervisor and I have to work on the actual programme today and advertise a job vacancy and rewrite job descriptions. Of course I've got time to get sick!!!!!! NOT.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-02 06:30:00
6040

Yells bells grizzly. You gotta take it easy. Why can't the Orogramme Supervisor get her own transport? Yes it is hard with J but we tell him he has special food just like Aunty V and cousin A . That seems to work lol. Your girl will be very vulnerable so you will have to trust her to make smart decisions. I am speaking from experience sigh. I have heaps of party stuff to do today for the party tomorrow. My girl is at work again until 7 tonight. She has next week off to settle K in at school so I will catch up madly with my things. Lol getting together a Pirate outfit for myself for the party. Got the pants, hat and shirt sorted. So nearly there ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-05-03 07:32:00
6041

now that sounds like fun! All the programme staff went to dinner last night but the best I could do was provide a few bottles for their table in thanks for their effort over last 2 weeks. No way I could go out. Bought a box of the cold sore patches last night so hopefully that makes me feel more presentable as I have to work in the shop today. Hopefully I get to see B5 today and B9 and L6 are staying here tonight. No rest for the wicked, eh? Anti-biotics are making me feel seedy so hope they all feel like takeaways, definitely not feeling like cooking. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-03 08:41:00
6042

No there is no rest for us ha ha. That cold sore is hanging around girl. I had J3 stay the night. I dozed expecting him to wake up. Duh He has snored like a trooper all night. That is really great. I hope my daughter is sleeping. Bet she will be. She looks very exhausted. I baked and cleaned at my other daughters yesterday for the party. We ran all day ha ha. Got to get up there early today to cook chickens and Lamb. Party starts at 11. The boys have to erect the bouncy castle, etc. I'm going to make a Curried Salad now and have a cuppa. Hope your grandchildren slept well. Enjoy the day and let the Anti biotics work their wonder. Lol I had posted Anti bionics

makerealbany - 2014-05-04 05:41:00
6043

That's what I need anti-bionics!!! Exhausted after the shop yesterday morning, went to have in the sun before going to daughter's but 2 lots of visitors arrived. Then I got really stressed because we were so late going to S's and couldn't go for a walk to the beach. It was great seeing B5 but, boy, was he wired!!!! Played monopoly with B9 and L6 before bed here at home and we all slept through the night. Yay!

grizzly4 - 2014-05-04 09:14:00
6044

I need Bionic limbs lol. Had a simply awesome Birthday party for K. Can't believe he's off to school tomorrow, We had so much fun. Nana even got on the huge bouncy castle and went down the slide much to the children's delight lol. Changed from a pirate this morning and went as a gypsy. Much cooler. It was a lovely sunny day. Going to knit now in peace, alone ho ho

makerealbany - 2014-05-04 20:21:00
6045

I've decided to turn the corner of the front where we took down a big fir tree into a rockery so we went for a drive out to where we ride the bikes at the river and collected some nice big stones. Didn't need many but at least I felt like I achieved something this weekend. It was weird being out there as we haven't ridden the bikes for awhile. The river had changed course so all the tracks have changed too - a whole new experience awaiting us! LOL. I seem to have got rid of my sore throat thank goodness so that's a start for getting rid of this 'flu. I was thinking of coming home after the shop this morning and not going into office but then I remembered Management meeting tomorrow so all the paperwork has to be emailed out. Bother!

grizzly4 - 2014-05-05 06:29:00
6046

I like the idea of a rockery. My Sil made a beaut but it is really overgrown now sigh. Young people no planning skills. Yes it would have been wired seeing the changes of the river and the tracks. Went to the gym this morning. First time in three weeks. Not easy lol. K enjoyed his first day at school after a tearful start. J had home made Gluten Free Spaghetti for tea. Ate it all but said it was yucky. Lol poor boy. At lest he ate it. Lol. I don't miss paperwork. Done all my jobs for the day so knitting next.

makerealbany - 2014-05-05 18:24:00
6047

Did what I had to yesterday and came home early with a headache. Very odd weather with nor'west winds, so don't know whether that caused it. Still windy today but have a late meeting tonight so need to just get on with it. The job ad I have listed on TM since Friday has had 433 viewings! Only received 5 CV's so far though and 2 requests for job descriptions. At Christmas time when I had 2 jobs advertised I couldn't believe not one person asked for a job description before applying for the job. One asked to visit the programme before accepting the job which I thought was good thinking on her part. I'm working on another wee double breasted coat in the colour "donkey" LOL. A lovely milk chocolate colour. And the lady who ordered 3 crossover cardy's now wants another. The needles will be flying this week.

grizzly4 - 2014-05-06 06:29:00
6048

Gosh and I thought work was hard to find. Mind you the last one I advertised for ? Had so many over qualified applicants who all requested a job description. You never know. My daughters legal problems are still not sorted. Lawyers are being right buggers so she won't sign the papers until they have it right. We pay solicitors to do what we want regardless of their advice. We have to pay them. They got talking between themselves and changes some really important wording. Honestly I could and would bang their heads together if they were in front of me. Cross over Cardies are cute. Have to sew buttons on the Cardies I have just finished to drop in to my Dil tomorrow after the GP. For my check up. Milk Chicolate sounds nice too.

I agree about lawyers! One of my colleagues recently divorced, just sold the house they owned together. Dealing with her ex was bad enough but then the lawyers agreed together that all the money should go into into ex's account and be split from there! She is still waiting for her money!!!! Worse still, being Christchurch, it was a developer who bought the property and he took down fences and trees before the deal was done, even locked away some of her stuff away while she was still moving it out (before possession date). She called the Police who said it wasn't important enough to warrant sending manpower so a friend 'helped' get her stuff back and the developer called the cops on her. They were on her doorstep the next morning! Didn't take it any further but imagine the stress of it all and nearly a week later she still doesn't have her money.
