yes, is nice to know they will fix negative feedback when evidence provided. TMN removed one for me, where i got negative because they did not proceed with auction. I had put a negative on them obviosuly....TM agreed with my view of things and removed the negative off mine, wish I knew that when I got my original negatives........One of my nuetral or negatives was from a 12 year old for a pick up only auction. Her reasons, it took me too long to deliver it to her (thought I was going above and beyond and that kids are not supposed to have accounts).

update on FDC's......well they do move, just not for much money LOL, by the time you pay the 55c success fee get about 30-40c a unit.....but did have about a 30-40% sell through rate, so happy with that. It was an interesting toss up to try them individually or as a group lot. Next trick and this is not an advert (yet), trying to off load old gibbons catalouges...hmmm not sure much money in those by the time postage is taken into account.

I have just been given a fabulous collection, which included a local Date Stamp Impressions Book and some Special Date Stamp certificates from NZ Post. Where can I go to find out if these are collectable please? I tried google but couldn't really find anything.

Generally no - small market at present.
The ones issued by the Australian music publishers for use in NZ are listed in the latest Kiwi catalogue at $5 or $15, doubled for fine condition. The commonest of these are the J. Albert & Son green & black. Some have sold on Trademe for double cat recently, but again, condition is critical.
Most royalty stamps offered are from the small subset of very common stamps, and condition usually poor. A search on ebay for albert copyright stamp just now turns up a few - again, condition poor, and the commoner values too. And overpriced as well, although the one 3d looks pretty good. The large range of scarce and very scarce royalty stamps don't appear on trademe or ebay, yet.

Thanks heaps. Will get the pics up soon. I have them on piece as in on the whole piece of music, so will offer them that way and then only distroy the music if the buyer wants that done for postage purposes.....They are on thye old scroll type music......boxed up and all, so reluctant to just cut the stamps off......2 stamps per piece picked them up for $5 total

MCPS Sydney 1d quite common, 2d quite scarce.
Alberts 8d fairly common but badly damaged so worthless, 1d common
Hope that helps.

Ok I have been looking for ages for a copy of the Stanley Gibbons "Collect Railways on Stamps" - the sellers I have found on amazon do not ship outside the US ... any ideas? And unfortunately I have no one I can use in the States to act as a forwarder.

Use NZPost's YouShop service. I've used it for a couple of ebay items I really wanted.

Stamp & Postcard Fair Saturday 19th July from 9am to noon at the Philatelic Centre, 67 Mandeville St, Riccarton, Christchurch.
We have one of the biggest seller of postcards on Trade Me from Nelson having a stand, so should be plenty of interest to view.

Just checking some stamps for cancellations, closed PO's and the like, and i came across one I haven't struck before and am unable to find any details on. The cancellation is on a 1960 Pictorial 1/-, it is only a partial strike and is a little blurred and the letters I can make out are "OSTMEN'S". Can anyone enlighten me on it please?

Circumstances conspired to make this a very successful fair. Great weather, Visiting stand holder, meeting of Postcard Society Committee, other visiting dealers and some good material offered by the local dealers. On top of this quite a few members of the public turned up as the fame of the fair expands. The fair appeared to be far more successful than the NZSDA fair just 3 weekends previously but that NZSDA fair was spread over 2 days rather than just a morning. Whatever the case it just re-inforces that Christchurch is way out in front of the other cities when supporting fairs.

I agree, we were still packing up one hour after closing time with buyers still going through material. A stand holder from Nelson has such a good fair he is coming back for our next one. Roll on 16th.

It's circular mark with the top left quadrant showing so it may well be BRANCH. The N.Z. is also showing immediately under the POSTMEN'S" Did they have postmen's branches?

Probally because the Crusaders were not quite good enough to win super 15 competition- chiefs still the only team to have won the Comp and they have done it twice- better luck next year --and to keep on topic the Crusaders were perforated, pasted and unhinged ,and Waratahs posted a great team in a sticky situation hehe

Muzza, you are pathetic with your joy over a team loosing a game. I was pleased that the Waratahs were good enough to win and to win well because their win will make Rugby so much more popular in Sydney which is really important for the game. I was very pleased that the Crusaders acquitted themselves so well that it made it a great and memorable game. Loosing by a single point in such a game is nothing to be sad about.

Havent had a good look yet but may of been his mums as they are with letters he wrote home to his mum back in World war 2. So a few are from then. Is there anywhere I can take them to get a valued or know what they are worth. May concider selling as not sure I want to keep them or not. Any help would be great, thanks

Where did you hear this from? Was it an authoritative source or from those "Stand for Children" people who are not very interested in Philately. If they are not interested in philately then can I presume they are also not interested in receiving any profits and positive publicity it generates for them. The Health Camps board became "Stand Children’s Services" (A stupid name if ever there was one) in 2001 under the Helen Clark Labour Government. In recent years John Mowbray Ltd became responsible for marketing Health camp covers and has struggled to provide a clear direction for their future.

I'll have to get there early then to pick up the bargains. The Christchurch Stamp Fair is now certainly the best in New Zealand with a great range of material being offered by a real diverse range of sellers and at very competitive prices. Being followed sometimes by a Youth Stamp club meeting also helps as does the great venue. I see that a CTB bus stop has now been installed directly outside the building.
