Good Morning everyone... Noo I didn't wet the bed lol...

Have to take our baby and her sister to be fixed today.. Poor thing has asked me for bikkies several time through the night. but she hasn't asked for breakfast yet. Shes too busy honing around.

Kuaka I hope today is better for you... did you go to Knit and Natter?

Ive joined 6 rows of the blanket. I have to say its looking sooo good.. Im more pleased with this than the knitted one I did.

Have a wonderful day everyone..

morning all. well off to Te Awamutu this morning. a old lady at out craft group has knitted so well kind of squares for you sue , making a jumper right now just sleeves to go

Morning ladies, yes Su I went to knit and natter yesterday. Got several hugs and managed to not burst into tears although they were right there about to burst. One of my friends insisted on buying my coffee and then next thing a beautiful blueberry muffin appeared alongside it. I only managed to get a wee bit of knitting done as I was helping this friend with a complicated jersey she has started for her daughter-in-law. I think we got it sorted. And then I went to town and checked the mail and paid the vet another $57 which was what they asked for the visit on Monday to put little puss to sleep after the credit for the cat food I'd bought which had a money back guarantee.

We looked at some "pets on the net" yesterday but whereas Mr K was saying we are NOT getting another one, he is now saying we are not getting one YET. He is still very sad and still keeps crying. I will have to watch him to make sure he doesn't get too depressed.

Thinking about it maybe little puss's problems started during the time she lived rough in the bush in the middle of a very cold wet winter when she ran away from her previous owners and before she moved in with us.

I've put all her things away and have a big bag full of cat food that I don't know what to do with.

Have a good day everyone.

Glad you went Kuaka, ever little bit will make you stronger.

Just put the food away, you may need it. or take to a animal shelter, not the word Im thinking of, Im sure it will come to me eventually.
MrP kept saying we weren't getting any more, that its too hard. So I took the bull by the horns and got Missy. Told him I needed a baby and that was it. And of course he loves her.

I think Little Puss came to you cos she knew you would look after her.. I had her being Black in my head, but she was beautiful in her multi colours.

We didn't have a choir on the way. Missy was quiet didn't have a peep out of her. Sahree on the other had has a very loud cry and a deep voice. There was a lab and a pug in the waiting room. Sahree thought they were her friends (she has her own dog at home) Missy didn't like the look of them.. shes never seen a dog up close.

First time in over 14 years that we haven't got a cat in the house lol.. Its weird. Quiet yet they are not noisy.

Now just have to wait for the call

popeye333 - 2014-10-23 10:06:00
5955

morning ladies :) I would either keep the food but it would depend how quickly you were going to find another puss. Maybe the RSPCA would appreciate it.

Been spring cleaning, the Furry One has been 'helping' of course. He's waiting for me to use the vacuum cleaner and deliberately sits on the beds (changing sheets) so I know he's there. Lawns need mowing but I think cleaning is more important today - still finding 'presents' the mice have left behind, just gross!!

I'll get some crafting done later on, better get a move on, the Furry One is stalking the vacuum - I can take a hint lol.

happy knitting :)

Thanks Carol that's awesome.

Lol Kiwimade, our bobcat used to love our Kirby, he would ride on it while it was going.. no fear for him... Missy does not like the wild thing mummy moves on the floor tho.

No news yet re the babies.. So I take it, all is going ok.

Ive joined a row this morning so that's nearly halfway. Havent put it on the blanket yet . Its going faster than I thought it would

popeye333 - 2014-10-23 12:25:00
5957

Babies are home.. Missy is wondering what all the fuss is about. went straight up onto the windowsill.
Does not like that thing in the cage thank you mummy lol.
Both have had a wee drink and food.

Missy wants to get into her goodie bag theres a catnip mouse in it.. but she can wait for a couple of days.

Sahrees mum will be here in about half an hour for her pick up.

Have managed a row and a half on the blanket. So not too bad.

Pleased to hear that you've got your baby home again popeye - how much did it cost you for the op?

yes, "little puss" (we actually called her "mennie" as she was many colours but she was always called little puss in reality) was a really pretty "naughty torty" - I've never had a tortoiseshell before, I've had plain grey, silver tabby, black and white, ginger (sorry, they are apparently called "marmalade") and they've all been different, but I think this latest one is the funniest, friendliest, cutest, cuddliest, ever - added to which she was the best kauri tree climber you could imagine, she would zap up the kauri 25 to 30 ft, and then turn around and run back down! She was awesome.

Mr K is still saying we're not getting another, so I might have to wait for one to wander through the garden and adopt us, or for someone - maybe my son - to bring us another.

Time to do some knitting. I have to get a parcel away to my sister in the UK in the next few days or it won't get there in time for her 70th birthday.

Have a good evening everyone.

Morning everyone.
It didn't cost anything Kuaka, they were both done under the SPCA scheme and the vets also did microchipping for free too. So only cost us $15 in petrol each. And we also got goodie bags which had a magazine, some info sheets. A sample bag of bikkies and two toys in them.

Missy is fit as a fiddle. keeps jumping up to the windowsill.. so I blocked it off but she keeps trying. so I took all the blocks down and have put a chair by the two windows she loves to be in. shes eating drinking and weeing fine. So shes a toughy.

Back to my blanket today..

Was out enough yesterday to keep me going for a week or too... Im a real home body now lol

Have a good day everyone

that's really good popeye - they had a scheme when we lived at waiheke called "claws" (cats - limited assistance with sterilisation) and you could get it done for about $25 from memory. I don't know of any schemes up here, I think it's pay through the nose for everything. I know I've got over $500 on my visa this month and it's all vets fees.

I hurt my back last Saturday putting a new gas bottle in for the cooking (it's in a ridiculous place) and then the digging on Monday worsened it. It's very painful now. I'd like to get cracking on some spring cleaning and make a start on new curtains, but it will have to wait, so maybe I can knit and not feel too guilty. Mr K says I need to sit and relax for a while and get over the stress of the last few days.

Hope everyone is well and having some quality crafting time.

kuaka - 2014-10-24 09:03:00
5961

Ouch Kuaka, you take care and rest that back.. do you have some good pain killers? And its has been a stressfull time so take some time for yourself.
Vets can be horrendous in their charges eh. I rang a while ago to see how much it was to desexing but I cant remember, I think it was about $150 for the girls.
So we were lucky. Just had to go out of town for it. We made two trips yesterday, My friend paid for half.

Just talking to friend to find out how Sahree is

morning :) well the kitchen cupboards are all cleaned, windowsills wiped down, floor vacuumed and washed.

Good news about Missy, Popeye, they bounce back pretty quick. Our male cat was neutered when I ran him over and broke his pelvis in three places. While he was asleep, the vet did the deed. OMG he hated me for days! And I felt soooo guilty at running him over (not about getting him 'done though!). His sister cost more than he did as it is major surgery compared to the boys! I miss them both terribly.

Have a sale to deliver in town today and I need to track down the scrap metal man. His phone has been turned off for most of the week and he said he would be out on Monday. Then there was a problem with his truck... still... he could let us know!

About to make a cup of tea and then hang out more washing.

Hope your back is on the mend kuaka, you have my sympathies over the pain!

happy knitting :)

oh dear, went to town and checked the mail and there was a sympathy card from the vet with some nice words including "she will have left you with lots of lovely memories" and of course that started me off again!

I took a "brufen" this morning, and that has eased the pain in my back a bit, will take another at tea time, because the paracetamol weren't going anywhere close to relieving it. I don't want to take many or next thing I'll be complaining that my bowels have gone on strike.

I did loads of washing yesterday so just might tackle the ironing this afternoon - really looking forward to that - yeah right!

Have fun everyone.

kuaka - 2014-10-24 14:17:00
5964

I was the same when we got a sympathy card from our vet too.. Just when you could sort of think about your baby without crying that sets it off again.

Kuaka take panadol with the brufen, it will work even better. I take panadol with codeine at my drs suggestion. I didn't know brufen can bung you up, I know codeine can. I cant take brufen cos of the warfarin. Hope it helps ease the pain for you.
Ironing ... argh swearword lol.... I just don't do it unless needed. yet in one house we had I brought it off the line straight to the ironing board. Used to love doing it in that house for some reason lol.

I have joined rows 7&8 to the blanket and joined the squares of row 9. I have an order for three daisys so ill do them tonight while Coro is on.

Missy over did it this morning so has been asleep most of the afternoon on her Big soft pillow.

Have to type some recipes up after tea for my friends workmate who has bee given oddles of cream cheese and shes sick of cheese cake lol.

Tea is organised, so just the daily routine of insulin etc now

Have a good evening everyone

Morning everyone.. Lovely day after a chilly night.

MrP still in bed, so Im going to leave him at home and go do the errands I need to do up the road.

Then home to work on the blanket,

Hope everyone has a awesome day

morning ladies :) Had a flat tyre yesterday, had the car all jacked up and ready tot ake the tyre off when a guy stopped to help me. Just as well too as the wheel was stubborn and needed to be knocked off with a hammer which I didn't have in the car. So need to get two (yep, another one needs replacing too) tyres on Tuesday. So an expensive week all round.

Also have the Furry One sick today, he's eaten something that disagrees with him. He's been sick twice and is shaking like crazy. I know JRs shake but this is different. He's done this before so I know he will be OK especially as he has been sick twice so will have an empty tummy. All he wants is to be close to me so I don't think I will get much done today. Good excuse to sit and create!

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Ouchies not a good week for the car or purse Kiwimade. So nice when blokes stop to help eh..
Not good re the Furry one either. As you say they do have the terrier shake but owners can tell the difference. Hope he starts to feel better today.

Missy is doing very well Post Op. She ripped a part of the dressing off yesterday so I took it off. Very strong adhesive. And she cried a little, but didn't use her claws or try to get away. The wound is nice and clean and healthy looking. She hoons around in the morning then rests all afternoon.
Shes very good at letting me check it a couple of times during the day

I have 10 rows all joined on the blanket. Two others joined up. And Ill join the last two today. Add them to the other two, then add it in one piece to the 10. Its getting heavy to work on. So kinda cheating to make it easier. Will be ok to do the border cos I don't have to keep things straight lol.

I have to admit I love it. MrP said your not selling that are you... I said Nooo no one would have enough money to pay for it. once Ive joined the rows together today that's 119 hours. And then the border. So an hourly rate would make it very expensive

Have a great day everyone

morning :) just back from the vet... this is sooo going to cost us, long weekend call out fees, oh well. Furry One is perky now and that's all that matters. I thought he would be ok but this morning he was still unwell so off to the vet, a jab later and he's fine. He will be on rice and chicken for a few days though.

Isn't it nice when our husbands/partners make comments like that popeye. Sometimes I wonder if they are aware of what we do :)

I have a few things to do today as a friend is coming for dinner. Better run the vacuum over the floor. I was going to be outside but the day is slipping by quickly.

Happy knitting :)

Ohh Poor Furry One... Glad he is feeling better tho.

When you think about it between the regulars in this thread we have spent a fair bit at the vets this year. We have all been there.

I agree Kiwimade, normally MrP doesn't really take notice. But yesterday when I was struggling with the weight I think it sunk in..
Someone in my past (and I cant remember who) used to have a black granny square blanket. They just keep young minds fascinated matching colours etc. I cant wait to see if finished and draped across my rocking chair.
Ive joined the last two rows of squares. Have to sew in ends. Then back to construction.
Ill do my floors tomorrow. woke up laying on my back so its not a good look.

popeye333 - 2014-10-26 12:13:00

Yay Ive finished joining it together. Phew.. sat with the most of it on a tray table to keep the weight off the hook lol

Now just the border. Later lol

Good Morning everyone. I hope everyone has nice plans for the day.

I tried doing borders on my blanket last night but couldn't get anything to look right. So Im leaving it without, till I have a think about it.

And over a lounge chair
http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/full/341058370.jpg

I am soo pleased with how its turned out. Will drape it over my rocking chair later and take another picture.

IM thinking of starting a table runner next. I want to learn how to increase in crochet so I can have the two ends come to a point, if I cant do it Ill do it square and fold the corners under.

Have an awesome day everyone

Happy Holiday Morning everyone,

Hope all the vet bills are now finished for you all - what a time of it you seem to have had with your little mates.

The blanket looks great Popeye I remember that type of blanket from my childhood as grandparents and aunts all seemed to have one or two and Grandmother had a dressing gown made out of afghan squares which we called Joseph's coat of many colours.

Have had a busy but very enjoyable weekend. Niece and her 2 little ones of 13months and just turned 3 have been staying with my sister so on friday we went to the local A & P show and although the weather turned cold and wet we saw quite a lot and so fascinating seeing it from a 3 year old's viewpoint. Then yesterday it was a lovely day and we took a picnic to see the model trains in Havelock North. Loved the steam engines and it is a great ride for all ages and so exciting for a small boy (and his Dad and Grandad!).

So not a lot of knitting done but have plodded on with some socks which I hope to finish today once a bit of housework done.

Have a happy day all

jayemtoo - 2014-10-27 09:54:00
5973

hi there ladies :) Your blanket looks lovely popeye, well done!

The Furry One is his usual bouncy perky self... what a relief to be playing tug of war with him this morning :) AND he has finally figured out the command 'drop it' when he has the tennis ball and wants me to throw it. Clever boy! lol. So that's another command added to his repertoire. Slowly but surely getting there. His mum has had another litter of pups so he is once again a big brother.

It's too cold to be outside so I've been cleaning the inside cab of our ute so we can sell it. Just need some fine weather so I can vacuum it and wash the outside.

I've begun cutting my hardanger and started the weaving. Will be damed glad to finish this as I've found sooo many mistakes. Better not make this many mistakes when stitching the piece for a wedding gift. Oh well, it will be ok on our dressing table where buggar all people will see it lol.

Hope everyone is well.

happy knitting :)

Clever boy Furry One.. I love it when they learn commands.

Ive started a table runner. Just a straight strip of trebles in white. but I will turn the corners under for a point on the ends. And Im thinking I might make red flowers to sew on it.
My first straight crochet. Lol as you say Kiwimade, if it flops this will end up on my dressing table too lol.

Was feeling quite at a loss deciding what to do next. Looked at lots of patterns but Ive had the thought of the table runner in mind for a while. So its kinda a no think job.

Have just made that 5 ingredient apple slice, I put some cinnamon in it. smells wonderful. Will make custard to have with it.

morning :) Sorry to hear you were sick carole, not good!

I'm back into cleaning the ute today once we have been into town. MrK has decided he doesn't need it anymore so we are selling it. Feels a bit strange as we have always had a vehicle each and living in the country, it's handy in case one 'breaks down'. Oh well, his ute, his choice.

I'm going to pick my needles up again today, have noo idea what I want to knit lol but will find something.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone. Hope your feeling better CArole.

Probably will feel quite weird only having one vehicle Kiwimade. We used to when we lived 30 mins from town. I hate cleaning cars lol.

My table runner is growing. Its just plain. But at least I can crochet in a straight line now lol
And started a Gonk for my great nephew.. Im taking pics later so you will see what I mean. I have no idea why we call them gonks but that's what they have been since we were kids and took for ever to knit one for ourselves.

Have a good day everyone

Am having a little break from mowing lawns, its a lovely day at the moment so making the most of it.

Morning, oops afternoon everyone... What a wild night of weather... apparently.. we had one Hug clap of thunder, sounded like something blew up at the school.. but only the one.

I went up to Plunket this morning to take the blankets up. They were very greatefull, apparently theres a lot of struggling people at the mo. som Im pleased they have them.

Still working away on my table runner.. Into the second ball. Im pleased with it, cos its in 8ply and it nice and firm. Whether it ends up the full length of the table or just a long Doily Im not sure yet. Ill see how far looks good then stop.
Kuaka I hope your feeling stronger as each day goes by.
Take care everyone

hello ladies, I'm okay, still missing little puss and Mr K still keeps talking to her - when I came home yesterday afternoon after my normal afternoon out he said "I've been lonely all afternoon" so I said "we need a cat" but he ignored me.

I woke at 3.30 this morning in a lather of sweat, got up to spend a penny and discovered the sheets were all wet. Checked and the temperature was 20 degrees, so hopefully I was just over-heated and not sickening for something. Couldn't get back to sleep so read till 5.30 and got up. Had to put clean sheets on the bed even though I did them at the weekend.

We had quite a spectacular thunder & lightning storm, so I unplugged everything I could think of. Not going to risk having another modem fried. Little puss would have been terrified.

I've seen a gorgeous cat on here that I would love. I've asked my son to go and get it for me, but he hasn't responded to my request.

I went to knit and natter this morning - had a bit of drama when a length of timber which was holding up the vinyl covering for the outdoor area where we were sitting (it was pouring with rain) came crashing down when there was a gust of wind, and there was nothing to support it. It crashed down onto a chair where moments before someone was sitting and only missed the lady next to me by an inch or so. The staff didn't seem terribly bothered about it and when I paid for my coffee the chap said "sorry about that, we can't do anything about it", I said "actually you can, it needs some guy ropes". Honestly if ACC didn't pick up the tab for accidents, and businesses were accountable for their actions or lack of them, these sorts of incidents would be far less common.

I hope everyone is okay, and achieving lots of knitting. Your blanket is awesome popeye.

kuaka - 2014-10-29 20:44:00

Morning everyone.. What a wild night we had, Big winds and rain. I think I saw lightening once but no thunder. And its still bad out there

Kuaka as much as MrK says no, having a cat will help you both. MrP always said no but I just got Missy anyway. Im glad you have asked your son to go get one.
A House isn't a home without a furry one of some kind.

Wow sounds like a accident waiting to happen with the timber etc.. I mean it nearly did, they were just lucky no one was hurt. Perhaps report it to management and see if anything is done about it.

I have an extra grumpy one. In his view I onpurposely aim for spots to hurt him when I do his insulin, so hes been grumpy since tea time last night. Topped with the fact that Missy was a wild child last night till midnight.. so he is still sulking in bed and I wont go and do his insulin till he askes. if he gets sick, its not my fault. Men grrr,,, lol

My table runner is growing. Im soo pleased Ive finally learnt how to crochet in rows without it growing or shrinking on me like when kids learn to knit lol
Ive put some red twinkle yarn on my wishlist on Deramores and plan to get it. And too bad if he grumbles about that too.

Have to shop today.. Going to be fun in this weather lol. And I will drag him out with me, even if he doesn't want to. but he mentioned wanting some braces, cos hes put soo much weight on his belts wont fit. Well one does, my one that I gave him but that's not good enough for him. so Im hoping the cheapie shops might have some braces.

Have a good day everyone.

popeye333 - 2014-10-30 09:23:00
5982

morning ladies :) We had a restless night too thanks to the Furry One trying to be brave and bark at every thunder clap. He then shot under the covers lol. We had lots of lightening too. Still windy as heck and raining off and on.

I'm going in to see the Council today, apparently when you have a Gold card there are rebates on your rates. Have an appointment to sort that out. The tyres and alternator are paid for, now waiting for the vet's bill. She phoned yesterday to check on the Furry One which was lovely.

I was teaching yesterday afternoon and have two days booked in for next week. That will pay for the truck's warrant and rego and then we can put her on the market. As MrK says, no point having it if we aren't going to use it.

I should be able to put my feet up after my appointment this afternoon. Ironing is done ( a huge pile lol), some of the heavier washing is out (we'll see if it dries) and the small stuff in the drier. I have a few things to do before lunch and then off into town.

I hope you are able to get another cat kuaka, I know I would miss having a four legged critter around.

Happy knitting.

Still windy as here... I braved it to get the shopping. Went alone so that was nice for a change. Silly shop didn't even have runner bean seeds, well they had the purple ones but I like scarlet runners or fardenlosers (sp).. Will go to mitre10 when Im out next.
MrP is feeling a bit better now, and the grumbling one has gone back into hiding for now. Thank goodness.

I have my heart set on red sparkly wool for my runner, so am going to do a Deramores order.. It can be my Christmas present to myself lol.

Kiwimade have you got return addresses pinned onto your washing lol?

Stay safe in the wind

popeye333 - 2014-10-30 12:08:00
5984

lol popeye, I ended up bringing it in and finishing it off in the drier, was half dry! MrK kept telling me 'it's raining!' lol so thought I had better go and get it in (was only spitting lol). Still really windy here though.

Just waiting for one of my auctions to finish then I'm off to my Council appointment.

kiwimade64 - 2014-10-30 12:44:00
5985

Sun is shining, but it's blowing a gale, and not exactly tropical. I'm about to put the second lot of washing out on the line. With the wind blowing the way it is, it will end up against the side of the house if it gets blown off the line. No progress on the cat yet - still hoping.

Popeye, I always love scarlet runners, but last year we had better success with purple king climbers. They produced heaps whereas the scarlet runners weren't much better than a complete failure really.

Hoping my back improves soon so I can do some planting meantime I'll carry on knitting (what a good excuse).

A friend of mine posted a cartoon on fb which showed an old couple, the woman struggling with several rolls of fabric, and the caption was "you're not going to buy all that are you" and she says "just think how much I've left behind". (or something like that)

kuaka - 2014-10-30 13:01:00
5986

Morning everyone.. A Much calmer day here today.

Lol Kuaka I like that.. I should probably say that to MrP. I hit the credit card last night with Deramores. Only ordered four things... 1 ball of red sparkles wool, 10 balls of white 10 balls of a Bluebell Blue and one of those Addi crochethooks. With the handle like a toothbrush. I generally use a 4mm the most so only ordered one.Got to $85 and I thought do I spend $15 to save $10.. and thought Nah, so I paid the postage.

LAst year the scarlet runners regrew, Ive never seen that before... Are the purple ones strong in flavour like scarlett runners? Ive seen listings on here for 1m long beans, that is weird, but we would probably only need one for a meal lol

Have to go get MrPs script for insulin and pick that up. See if we can find him some braces,, his belts have shrunk lol.

A question for you all... Do you know how far a bag of cat litter can spread when a little madam rips a whole in it and spreads it over a slipper concrete floor.. I can tell you its a ,massive area... Ive cleaned it up but shes sitting down there watching.. Maybe the bag just exploded all on its own accord. And it wasn't her teeth marks in the bag lol... Wish Id got a photo lol

Have a good day everyone

popeye333 - 2014-10-31 09:16:00
5987

morning :) of course it exploded all on it's own. Little Miss would never dream of doing such a thing ;)

Scarlet runners grow year after year but every so often you do need to replace them. That's why we just love growing them, no fuss and a huge crop. We give them away and freeze them.

Just have to vacuum and wash the floor and housework is done. The Furry One knows it nearly time to vacuum and is getting himself worked into a tizz lol. He just loves it! Then a quick trip to the butcher and the day is mine :)

happy knitting :)

morning :) Sorry to hear you are still sick carole.

Sun is out, yayyy! lol. So once I have finished my coffee I'm going out to weed the garden and check under the tarp I have over a bears paw to see if I have killed it yet. Hope so as I want to build a path through the garden where it is. Roundup and digging haven't worked so this was our next idea.

The Furry One almost caught a rabbit last evening so no doubt today he will be trying again. Thought I had blocked off the hole where it came in the other evening so there must be another.

Will get some crafting done this afternoon all going to plan.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.
Hope you get well soon Carole.

Yay re the sun... Still windy here but not quite as bad I don't think.. Over the wind..
We have a shrub I want to pull out, I never liked it and thankfully some drunks fell into it and looks like they have all but killed it.. And Id like to move some violets. They have kept the weeds out under one lot of the blackberry vines so Ill move some more into the other spot.

I feel so chuffed that I can now crochet in rows, and in a circle... Now my ideas will be endless lol. Ive started a runner to go along the back of the couch. Making it kinda like a brick wall but alternating gaps with blocks sort of.

Im going to pop up to the oppy shortly they had a cd rack there yesterday, if Im meant to have it, it will still be there for me. I should have got it. Handy cos I hate having the cds in the drawer on the tv cabinet. And it will also block Madam from getting behind the cabinet.

Have a good day everyoe

What a weird day I've had. Thought I would spend the morning just pottering around and having a tidy up and maybe even finish the ironing. So then a friend phoned and asked if she could come round for some help with her knitting, so of course - no problem. She came early afternoon and we spent over two hours sorting out the problem only to find it wasn't right, so eventually she left, and I'm going to (hopefully) sort it out tonight so she can pick it up tomorrow, then just as she left a friend phoned, but I had to cut her short as we'd had no lunch and tea was almost ready, meanwhile I heard a lot of loud noise from the house above us, noise like youngsters drinking and generally having fun. Fine. Till I noticed all the broken beer bottles on our driveway obviously come from the house above, so I went out and yelled at them, and told them to come and clean the bloody mess up or else - they denied all knowledge and meantime I phoned the police, thinking there might be trouble. Nobody on duty in Paihia, nobody on duty in Kawakawa. Too bad if you're being raped or murdered. Phone back on Monday! Anyway next thing these two young lads who were so pickled they could hardly stand up, walked down to us with a nice big fresh snapper (gutted but not filleted - don't worry I'm a dab hand at filleting fish) I gave them a broom and a dustpan and brush and they cleaned the mess up, apologised and promised to bring me another snapper tomorrow. We'll see.

So now, I will try to sort out this frustrating pattern for my friend.

Happy knitting everyone.

Sorry to hear you're still not well Carolev - maybe you need a feed of fresh fish - I know we will enjoy it tomorrow and Monday (there's easily enough for two nights tea). If you're still feeling ill on Monday you probably should go and see your doc. Hugs

morning ladies :) ohh yummmm fresh fish! Had to laugh at the young guys being so pickled, bet they are paying for it this morning! And good on them for cleaning up the glass, mind you I would check it lol as if they were that pickled heaven knows how well they did.

I'm hanging out for the rugby, we're on poor mans TV so will watch it this afternoon. I have an American friend I Skype with and I know he will be watching lol. We have great sporty conversations and we have learned so much about each others countries over the past 10 years.

Lawns are mowed, gardens weeded, so today I can relax a bit.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone..
Wow Kuaka what a day, Yumm nothing much can beat fresh snapper. we used to live in a small town and many times there weren't any police around. Like Kiwimade Id love to see how the pickled ones are today. A good dose of loud music might help lol.

Carole you need some sun,, a good dose of vitamin D. Our Lounge freeview stopped working during the finals of the Americas cup, couldn't afford to get a new one straight away and didn't want to wait till it could be fixed. So we got sky back lol

Started out fine here and now the clouds have come in... But Im hoping the washing will dry some. It will be under cover.

Im not a rugby person so very seldom watch it.. And I also get annoyed with the chair side referee yelling at the tv. so I just never put it on.

Just a normal day here.. Washing and dusting at least today. His Nibs will watch High Chaparral shortly so that will keep him out of my hair for an hour. Then Ill watch Kirstys Fill your house for free.

I didn't do any yarn work yesterday... Found a couple of patterns for the new wool that's coming tho lol

Have a good day everyone

Well we haven't received another snapper - yet - not that I expect to, and the one we were given as a peace offering last night will do us for two days and we will enjoy it. I will check the driveway for remains of beer bottles.

It took me till way past midnight last night to sort out my friends knitting. She is going to pick it up later and is very appreciative, I didn't tell her how long it took, but I did say "I was up late doing it" and she knows I hardly ever go to bed before midnight, so if I'm late, then it is very late!

We started off with fog here, which has cleared, but it's very overcast. Haven't ventured outside yet so not sure what the temp is like. Mr K was up first and immediately put the heat pump on - he really feels the cold these days. Sun is trying to peep through.

Have a super Sunday ladies and try to do some craft stuff.

Are they expensive Carole? it might be faster for me to send the box to you and pay T to fix it.?

Kuaka MrP is starting to feel the cold too, he still has socks on all day and night, and a cardy. Me Im in no sleeves already.

I haven't got to my hook yet but all the washing is done and the last is drying. Went to take it outside and the air already felt damp. Thank goodness the dryer doesn't use much power like they used to
