No, thought one of the people I watch had just listed one, but its "to 1984" sorry mate. Judithwest is the seller.....

ozzie decimals...
1970/80s probably
any point in listing them, and if so is there a helpful site as to values?
(eg I love this site for NZ stamps - http://stampsnz.com/)

Well here goes at breakign the rules myself, but dont care. This is the most deceptive auction seen to date by me. "736899670".

Pics of an extensive collection and even a descrption of an extensive collection. Last sentence says it is for a single 1970's rose stamp. but oh, contact him for the rest......and yes, have reported it.....I know some traders like myself annoy the pro's how rely on the ales for their living, but atleast I am selling whats shown.

Seller has changed details to make a little clearer what auction is for, but why show all the albums?

yes, especialliy as not a single pic is of the stamp being sold. Sole purpose is to avoid fees. Sell the one stamp for $1 or $2 and then negotiate with buyers once you have their e-mails.

I have offered different items to previous buyers before listing, but not via an auction etc to scope new people. Quite naughty and also a potnetial way to copmepltely rip someone off as all you have to supply to comelte the contract is a single worthless stamp......

Hi guys, I've listed some 1940s stamps on t'other site (wheee) and I hope I've got the prices correct.
How much should the Air India stamps sell for?

Good point too

How is this not deceptive when photos show all the albums ? -

"----auction is for a 1975 pictorial 1c silver rose----

100000s of nz used stamps from late 1800 to late 1990s in albums and in envelopes. photos just a tiny proportion of what is there. all used condition."

Obviously the bidders think they are getting all of what is in the photos !

always find it interesting when listing 40+ items and the end time comes up, just how many will sell or not, do any of the individual items atract a bidding war or not....and then unfortaunetly the logistics of making sure the right people get the right lots for the right amount.....haven't had that many listed at once for a while....hats of the the dealers on here for getting it right all the time.....hopefully my processes at home will result in fewer errors :)

I have a couple of questions.
Have been doing some research and just want to know what these stamps are called?
https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/319500485.jpg

and what's the story with the one where they have blacked out 4c and made it 8c?

Thank you. Yes I think most of the stamps I have are boring common ones. Will keep them for the kids to have when they are older I think. And may even get back into collecting.

tonilt - 2014-06-08 15:11:00

ironically, the modern ones in that pic, probably worth more than the old ones.

I would suggets what Donaldo says, even for $10, helps the kids when they do get interested. For yourself, just browse some of the catergories on here under Stamps and NZ, of course only worth what they actually sell for.....not always what everyone wishes.

The latest English set on Royal Palaces is a real beaut set. both the stamps and the souvenir sheet. it gets my vote for the best set issued this year. Any other contenders?

Greetings my philatelic friends, what is the view on the 2004 $1.50 Ian Ferguson & Paul MacDonald K2 500 metres Gold Seoul 1988? It's a 3D affair wherein the blokes in the boat appear to be paddling when the stamp is moved correctly. Much interest/value there? It's a self-adhesive still on its original paper.

$1.50. It hasn't increased in value. Google 'NZ stamp catalogue'.

Received my stamp catalogue today. After going through it and matching up to stamps I have I got a little excited to find out how much they are asking for a full set of 1980 commonwealth games stamps and a FDC as well as the 1985-89 full set of birds and the $10 kiwi (I have 4). Excitement was short-lived once I had a look on TM to see how much they are selling for.

With sadness I see that Bernie Styris (Hamilton) passed away on 11 Jun.

A notice was in a recent NZ Herald

Bernie produced & published a number of very informative NZ Wage Tax Stamp Guides & Catalogues over the years with great detail on the many varieties in these issues. Also a Guide & Catalogue on NZ CAL's around 2011.

Sincerest sympathies & our thoughts are with Bernie's family

Just curious...
I have noticed some sellers state buyer's risk for standard postage, which I can understand since stamps are on NZP's prohibited items list...
Will this no longer be acceptable for stamp dealers as at tomorrow?

bayloft - 2014-06-16 23:52:00
5886

I dont know if delivery applies? especially if the buyer choses the method of delivery...That would be interesting.....or are you only talking about "lost" goods. Again, I would not have thought much changes.

Delivery of stamps is interesting, I had someone terribly upset once when I sent used stamps in the post with cardboard protection, but no "rain" protection. I would have thought A used postage stamp which has alreday survived one soaking at least, could survive getting wet again...Took the criticism on board though and do send stuff with more protection than I use to when first doing this.

bca - 2014-06-17 14:49:00

Having said all that, find some sellers postage protection puts the stamps at risk, as they are so hard to get unwrapped, that I have creased and almost torn some getting them out fo the packaging.....managed to get very cautious now....The Mrs opened one lot of mail, not knowing what it was and tore some once. She doesn't open the obvious stamp delaing mail now.....the use of old stamps is a giveaway.....

Will NZ Post be becoming 'Consumer Guarantee' compliant any time soon for items sent by standard mail ?

or perhaps that matter was too hard for the Politicians & Lawmakers to connect the sparse postal dots on ? ;-)

How should stamps be properly packaged?

I have had two issues now - the first were mint stamps and one of them stuck to the paper, must've been a bit of moisture :-/
Are there proper sleeves I should buy?

The second issue I've just found out about - sent to a PO Box address...
used stamps, I had them in paper, then between card, then gladwrapped, then taped to an A4 sheet folded in thirds and in a standard envelope.

This is what buyer says:
"The stamps arrived to my po box soaking wet! I could see you tried to protect this from happening with the glad wrap but the glad wrap appeared to keep the water in rather than out once wet! I have been drying the stamps out over the past few days and they are okay but I refrained from email until I could see how they turned out after I dried them :/ they are okay lucky they were used and not mint!!! "

I should add, on first reading I thought her letterbox leaked, but this was going to a PO Box!

I am unsure of the relevant classes for the postmarks. It is a very clear postmark and easy to read which is why I noticed it on the old stamp.

Have been trying a good bit of the day to put a pic on, how is it done?
No it is definitely Te Kauri or Tekauri, the date is showing as DE 98 on a
1d SSF stamp

If you load it up in 'My Photos' in More Options of 'My Trade Me', right click to show the pic in another window & post the link from that window to your pic in the thread here ..
