Up at the beach. K still sick and so is little J. Little J3 is coughing and wheezing. GP told my daughter to give him Ventolin but said it's just a virus. Grrr they ought to try looking after sick children without a break. Must girls are worn out even with my help. Back is playing up again. Too much digging lol. Mum wants to come and stay so have to drive the horrid drive and pick her up on Saturday. Feeling my age ho ho. Was pleased with my gym measurements this morning. Although I should not have gone there. I avoided two killer machines because of my back. Lost a kilo even though I ate everything in sight over Xmas. Have to sort out wool as a donation for a lady but no time today. Ah well tomorrow arvo is free and then I am back up here Wed night and home again Thursday night.

That weight loss shows how much you have been running around! I have a throat infection. Grrrrr. Yesterday was stressful with everything I had to do, maybe it's because I'm not 100%. Hopefully today will be better. I hope the children feel better soon.

OMG a programme new staff! They are all very capable and have the experience but boy, it's hard watching them try and work together as a team. It's only been 2 days and we are all exhausted, it's ridiculous. I had to do have serious talks yesterday and this is what I have been dreading when I took the job. Last thing I want to do is work on the programme just to manage staff! Hopefully today is better for them. Oddly enough the one with the least experience I chose because of gut instinct is turning out to be a real gem. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-15 06:23:00
5854

Always go with your gut instinct lol. Another babysitting day until 12 then a break until 5am another all day until 8 tomorrow night then Friday is free. Took J out dies for an hour to pick plums and weed but we had to come in. He runs around so much and starts coughing. Thank heavens his daddy is back tonight. Whoopee.

Thank goodness yesterday was a better day and while they were out on a trip I got the wages organised. Phew! They are on site all day today, I might have to run errands for awhile for a break from the noise. LOL. It's taking time to get used to the new routine at home as well, with tea being much later. Less time for knitting once dishes are done and I've watered the garden. I'm working on a dolls layette in variegated pastels that I bought in Knitworld's sale last week. It's quite a thick 8ply.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-16 06:43:00
5856

Know what you mean about tea being much later. When I am home I race around weeding pots, watering, fertilizing and picking Veges. Have to use the daylight lol. Kids still sick but I only have K to mind phew ha ha. I am so looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Now that Sil is home I have a tree trunk for him to cut. I'll give him a couple of days to relax with his children first though. I have wool to sort out for a lady and then maybe I can sit and create something ho ho. Have quilts to do but feel like knitting ha ha. Roll on tomorrow.

I can't believe how long it's taking to knit dolls clothes, for goodness sake. I barely did 20 rows last night, kept nodding off. I'm going to the movies with the programme today, will be asleep mid way, for sure. LOL. L6 is staying over tonight. DIL is doing her first aid certificate all weekend, she finally heard yesterday that she is actually in the midwifery intake this year. She is so excited. After 8 years on a restricted drivers license she is going for her full this morning. Everything is happening for her at once. My son looks shell shocked by it all. LOL. And of course he will worry about money without their 2nd income.

I got up felt lousy so went back to sleep. Woke up at 12 had a shower cooked some eggs, ate them and went back to sleep. Woke up at 7 fed the cat, defrosted a casserole, ate it then cooked some plums, made custard ate it all. My throat was on fire but I am feeling more alive after today's rest day lol. I really needed that time out.

I hope you are feeling better today, makerealbany. I. is checking out the diecast toys where suzy59nz works for his birthday in March! LOL. His ne job involves building up the level of red zoned sections and in the inner city. Now he's keen to have 'ornaments' of the diggers, haulers, trucks etc he uses. LOL. Good business for Sue, I guess. Hope you reading this Sue!

I missed out going on the bikes yesterday for a number of reasons but making sure I get to go this morning. LOL. It's supposed to rain again sometime today so we are going out early.

Coughing and spluttering but fine otherwise. Ha ha. K4 is still coughing a bit but happy as a sandbox. He's going to "help you wash your dirty car today Nana" if that wasn't a hint I don't know what is. We have had roadworks for two weeks. Daughter worked from 3 to 11 yesterday. Got home Midnight and was gone again this morning at 6 to do a 12 hour shift. She looks exhausted but she bounces back quickly. Have more plants I bought off TM . Last week I got some Lillie's from a lady two streets from my daughter up here. Anyway I won some Begonias from a lady further away. She emailed me last night to ask if I would mind picking them up at her parents place as she is flying to Aussie this arvo. I sent her a cheery reply. I went there last week. Ha ha Small world isn't it? Spotlight has a good sale but I have to use what I have first. My stash is too big. I have to finish a cardi for little E2. Yes my youngest grandchild is now two. My son has closed his apartment in Wellington and is now living back in Auckland but he will still be flying all around the country. Lol. Maybe I'll get one more grandchild. They do want another babe but were waiting until he could train people to take his place in Wellington. Have a great bike ride.

It was a great morning out! Came home about one when the wind picked up. The dust along the river is no fun then. It got to 32 degrees here yesterday, too hot for the garden I'm afraid so dozed on the couch after all that fresh air and exercise.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-20 06:40:00
5863

Wow 32 degrees that is hot phew. I woke up this morning sneezing and coughing. I feel ok and it seems I cough and sneeze in the morning and at night then I am ok during the day. No temp. Got up made a cuppa and felt the tingling. Yes The dreaded opportunistic Shingles has reared again. So off to GP this morning. Been wearing Jandals too much and skin is worn off my feet again. Darn. Ah well I need to go to the Library, pick up some more potting soil and milk, pharmacy for my meds, Spotlight for quilting thread and then I will come home and relax with knitting ho ho

makerealbany - 2014-01-20 07:36:00
5864

Went to the GP yesterday. Cost $40 for my meds. So lucky I am retired and have a card. Got some antibiotic for my chest infection and Aciclovir for the Shingles, plus the normal stuff. A and M have it now so their household is not happy. Sigh. Went to the library to stock up because I won't be going out for awhile. Just dozed and then ate so I could take the meds. Did the same today . Aciclovir has to be taken every 3 hours for a week. Not much energy at all. Tried to knit but cannot concentrate darn it. Earthquakes again not good at all. Every time I turn on the news it's awful. That poor woman losing her children, another one getting beaten and no help. Feel really sad that such rotten things keep happening. Going to bed as late as I can because I am up and down anyway. Bugger it lol

makerealbany - 2014-01-21 17:53:00

I was naughty yesterday after the doc I called into Spotlight to get some thread. They had Quilt backing for $10 a metre. Normally 23 to 28. I couldn't resist ha ha needed cheering up. Also you got another 30 percent off if you bought all there was on the roll. I am very happy with my purchases. I always have material in my stash and Batting but I usually buy the quilt backing to match when I have finished the front of the Quilt. I got pink. Blue, green, purple and beige as they will go with my stash colours. She even gave me some odd pieces that had been cut at a quarter metre lots. Lucky day.

5866

You poor thing, makerealbany, I hope you are feeling better today. Good shopping with your fabric, fancy getting something for nothing from Spotlight. LOL. I've had long days so far this week. An evening meeting on Monday night and then last night was groceries, then I had to go back across town to work as I had left my phone behind. It's the number the security firm has over night so shouldn't have forgotten it. Barely getting any knitting done and I'm getting pretty desperate for a day to myself. I am hoping that I will be able to take the Friday after Waitangi Day as the programmes will be up and running by then and, fingers crossed, settled. Mind you they can call me if there is a problem. I am currently working on a wee double breasted coat in white. Cute pattern.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-22 06:37:00
5867

It's tough at the top aye babe lol. I remember those days and not fondly some times ha ha. Time is not your friend. You are amazing in that you still knit girl. Yes we rely on darn cellphones these days. Gotta find mine. Think its in a handbag in the car ho ho. Most likely flat had it on Monday. When you are sick you couldn't care a less ha ha. Must be creative today and do something before I go stir crazy. Have a great day.

Had a good day yesterday. Very productive at work, full team of 9 on board now with a reliever just in case, LOL. I harvested beans when I got home (after cooking tea!) so now have 4 bags of French sliced beans in the freezer. I have also finished the back and one front of the coat, have started 2nd front too. I've even got rid of the croaky voice that pestered me all last week and now I've woken up with a sore throat! I knew it was all going too well. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-23 06:38:00
5869

I hope it is just a darn sore throat. That was how my virus started. Yuk. Been in the garden this morning. Cooked a quiche for lunch. Easiest ever. You put everything in a bowl, put the lid on. Shake the hell out of it. Throw in a pan and cook in oven for 45 mins. I love easy cooking ha ha. Last night I cooked aubergine and pepper Tempura with Sweet Chilli dip. Worked well. Never tried before. Every now and then I like to experiment ho ho. Just had a shower after I coloured my hair. But brave a haircut tomorrow if coughing subsides. Now I am going to sit and tie a quilt. Never done it before so I am a bit nervous but Ill give it a go.

makerealbany - 2014-01-23 15:21:00
5870

Tie a quilt? I haven't heard that expression before. I keep getting mosquito bites during the night despite having the bug spray spitting at us regularly. The bites are a lot worse these last couple of years in terms of my reaction to them. I've just managed to get rid of a few on my arms now I have 2 more on my ankles. Sigh. They drive me nuts.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-24 06:46:00
5871

Mossies aren't too bad up here. Mind you I always get bothered when I'm somewhere else. I have noticed if the children get bites they can easily become infected. Yes instead of quilting the three layers together you hand stitch one stitch although I do two and knot it. I tried sewing the three layers but the quilt is too big and I've given that idea away ha ha. Still coughing. Last night was worse than the night before. I was so annoyed. Thought I was coming right sigh. Going to work on my quilt and watch a movie. Just cleaned my freezer. At lest I've done a couple of chores. Think I was too ambitious working in the garden yesterday. Lol.

makerealbany - 2014-01-24 11:32:00
5872

Freezers are still too full for me to think about defrosting them just yet. Really need to do some weeding though. Doesn't look like we'll be out on the bikes this weekend so hopefully will catch up in the garden. Trying to finish a book as well and the wee coat I'm knitting and now I've got an order for a baby beanie to do. Tomorrow's weather looks dreadful so should get it all done in front of a good DVD. LOL.

Lovely weather up here at Orewa. My daughter is working for three days. Came up this morning. K4 is at the Rally Car Show with his uncle so I have just finished a book and am going to knit the sleeves of a cardi. Quiet here C is at work and J is at the gym. Went to buy some more pegs for my daughter and popped into the hospice shop got some Fairy material for $10 about 5 metres and cotton. Also got some quilting Mags 50 cents each. Very pleased with myself. Got some Passionfruit plants off a trader up here. Healthy about a metre tall for 4.50 each. Got two for K4 so we have to plant those when he gets home.

makerealbany - 2014-01-25 12:11:00
5874

Back home again. Going up late about 8 tomorrow. Cool. Managed to do some knitting this afternoon. K and C went back up the road after tea to look at more cars ha ha. Uncle C bought him a really neat Mustang Replica Car. It's even got an engine and everything opens as well as a spare wheel in the boot. K collects model cars. He has about 400 small ones got the complete Disney sets, etc. He has big Replica cars and Trucks that have been sent to him from all over by his Dads Mates. They never forget him at Xmas and his Birthdays are unreal. They used to do it before his Dad died but now he gets planes and Helicopters as well. My daughter has his boxes of stuff in three rooms. He knows everything he has and can tell you all the names and models. Amazes me. He's a mad reader as well so books everywhere. When his sister goes down South hell most likely put stuff in her wardrobes ha ha. He has told us he is saving them for his kids lol. He is very particular about who plays with what. Needless to say there is still a lot for J and C to play with when they go to visit. My cat is driving me nuts he is in and out and won't sleep inside for the whole night. About 4 he wakes me up to go out . He has been doing this for two weeks now. Won't settle like he used to. Right I'm off to bed.

Coat finished, beanie done. Housework up to date, lawns mowed (by I. not me), gardens weeded, baking done, Curtain made for toilet window and mending done. All in all, a very productive weekend. W even took B8 and L6 out to the river to play on the wee quad bike. B8 always seems to be at his birth fathers when we all go out on the bikes. He's there every second weekend and doesn't have a great time, I don't think. Constantly farmed off to one of his uncles as the Dad has a 2 year old to his partner and the partner doesn't include B. in their family stuff! B. isn't my biological grandson but he has been part of our family since he was 4 months old and I can't imagine not loving him to bits. He will be 9 in March and is starting to try and hang out with the adults a bit more, distancing himself from the other boys when they are here playing with the toys etc. Thank goodness he thinks the bikes are fun. And he's great to play board games with. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-27 06:39:00
5876

You have been busy. Ha ha. It's great to get so much done though. I took j3 up to Orewa this morning. About Two we came home with K5. I have a bit to do tomorrow to catch up because if my 3days babysitting but the boys had fun. B8 is feeling his way now. Probably thinking a bit too. It is really hard for some children. I know that J10 is wanting to stay with his Dad more. His Mum is now married and he has two younger sisters there as well as E2 up here. She goes crazy when he comes up each fortnight. Adores her big brother. He is so good with all of his sisters but E is the youngest and his little shadow ha ha. His stepdad is a lovely guy. He has an older brother who is in Aussie now with his father. He was pretty hard on J at times. I asked him if he missed his big brother and he said No Nan it's easier for us all now especially Mum. It's good that your grandson likes board games. j does too but he always wins so hardly anyone will play with him except his much older cousins ha ha

I worked in the shop yesterday morning and then had a meeting for work but came home after that. So much time in lieu to use up and there are no programmes starting till Wednesday. Evaluation of holiday programme to do today plus staff training, so hopefully won't be a late day. Not sleeping very well because of mosquito bites. They are driving me crazy. I am spraying the bedroom before we go to bed and I've replenished the automatic bug spray in the house. The poor girls have no sign of fleas but they got dosed as well just in case! LOL. These are definitely mozzy bites though as I always swell up something chronic around the bites. Just get them under control and have a good night sleep and wham! wake up with a few more. Sleeping with me feet out of the covers doesn't help I guess.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-28 06:19:00
5878

No sleeping with your feet out of the covers doesn't help lol. I do that because my feet get so hot and the rest of me is cold. Strange being I am. Took the boys to Preschool then came home, had a cuppa and rushed down to get a haircut. Feels so good. Did some shopping at K K s sale, went to farmers to buy Mum some Pjs for her birthday next month then came home again and cleaned up. My youngest sister had a couple of Mini strokes so Mum was a bit upset so spent a couple of hours talking to her . My young sister is very ill and has been for a few years. She only has one daughter and she lives in Aussie. G always spends a lot of time with Mum. They support each other. I rang her hubby and he left work to go to the hospital. She usually goes home as soon as she is aware of where she is. Doesn't want to die in hospital and we understand that. My Bil will have a day or two off work until she kicks him back to work lol. I have been working and tying the quilt but fingers sore now so time for bed.

makerealbany - 2014-01-28 22:47:00

I'm sorry to hear about your sister, makerealbany. She sounds like a very strong woman. Actually, I think, your family is full of very strong women.
If having hot feet during the night makes you strange, then I am right there with you. I am working on a new matinee jacket pattern I bought from TM. The main piece is on 237 stitches! with a lace chevron border which also includes small bobbles. Very time consuming but I finished the border last night. I am hoping it starts to decrease stitches now as I move up to the yoke.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-29 06:58:00
5880

Yep it is decreasing but only every 10th row! Taking forever on so many stitches. I remember now why don't make many matinee jackets. LOL. I am loving this getting up early (well, I see the benefits once I'm actually up and have a shower LOL). Yesterday I cleaned out the stash of fabric, wool and bits and pieces donated to the shop. It's been mounting up in the spare room over Christmas while I coped with everything else. Took a pile of pieces that didn't sell last year to the Clothing Bin and relisted lots of new stuff. I still have a box and a bag of fabric pieces to go. Very pleased with myself. Maybe this morning I will try to finish my book or do another few rows on the jacket. I am reading 'Mrs Queen Takes the Train' by William Kuhn. It's a great story the goings on in the current royal household. It's fiction but using real characters, quite a laugh really, and it's made me think of the Queen, herself, a bit differently. I definitely recommend it.

Morning grizzly. I went back to the gym yesterday. My back was hell but have to ease back into exercise. Felt less stiff last night but still darn sore. Did some gardening, went and collected worms from a neighbour for my worm farm I made. Got it started yippee. Did some work on the quilt. Only an hour just too sore. Going to use a Chrissy voucher and have a pedicure and manicure today . My feet feel horrible. My sister is up and down but cheerful. My sister E sent her three grandchildren back to Aussie yesterday so she is spending time with Mum and Sis G who sent her hubby back to work lol. M6 is back at school, boys are back to preschool. Happy days for us all ho ho.

makerealbany - 2014-01-30 07:43:00
5882

I know how you feel. Holiday Programme over, one after school programme up and running again the other doesn't start till next week, and the following week the Women's Group starts up again. The new Family Support Worker has some great ideas and has already been meeting with clients and I have been able to let go more tasks to the new administrator. LOL. All the people time I have these days exhausts me and I really just need to spend a day in my accounts books. Hopefully today. I am working in the shop tomorrow morning and it's the end of the month so that book work to be done, too. Just as well I love being busy. LOL. I have made it up to the armholes on the jacket, thank goodness, it's a very pretty pattern but the bobbles sure slow it down and the number of stitches.

grizzly4 - 2014-01-31 07:05:00
5883

I'm doing the yoke now. Thought I would have it done in an evening but......no. LOL. Kept nodding off. We had Indian dinners at the Mall last night (1st time in 3 years) and I had to sleep partially sitting up because of reflux (another age thing apparently). Usually I don't sleep well like that but woke this morning and I hadn't moved! I. had 2 go's at waking me as well. I've promised myself a lie in tomorrow. (Maybe).

grizzly4 - 2014-02-01 06:25:00
5884

Maybe it is an age thing lol. Yesterday was so busy. I had my neighbours two girls and my granddaughter until 2. My daughter and Sil took the two boys to my sons to deliver the swing set these ones have grown out of. At 3 I took M and went to see how little E liked the swing set. It used to be her big brothers so it has traveled lol. She played with her cousin on that swing and cried when we left. She just loves company. Today Little K4 was picked up and we went to B8s party next door. She had a lovely party and we all ate too much sugar ha ha. Now I am relaxing on my lazy boy . Too tuckered to do another thing. Going to sit and quilt.

makerealbany - 2014-02-02 18:14:00
5885

Housework and gardening yesterday morning and another bag of beans in the freezer. Tomatoes are a bit odd this year: one vine is giving a good size tomato each day and we haven't had anything of the other. There are huge tomatoes on it and a very weird shape I might add, but they are not ripening. Usually I'm trying to give them away by now. LOL. Spent yesterday afternoon watching Bridget Jones DVDs finishing a matinee set until L6 came for tea. Then of course we had to watch 'Planes'.

grizzly4 - 2014-02-03 06:18:00
5886

Had another productive day. Mowed lawns as they were so long. Sil ignoring them grrrr ha ha then I weeded and cleaned out a garden. Hauled branches down the bank from the tree my Sil cut down. Picked some plums. Went to the preschool to pick the boys up. Only had them home 30 mins then both lots of parents came home. Planted bulbs in pots and about 20 buxux cuttings in pots. The lot I did about a month ago are coming along nicely. I love hormone powder lol. Sprayed the citrus trees as they were getting black soot all over them from Mealybugs. The darn pests. My tomatoes are terrible. Beefsteak ok but acid free were hopeless fruit kept dropping off brown at the end. Blossom end rot, I pulled most of them out. One planter is ok. We are so short on water it's not funny. My raspberries have been prolific but had to spray pumpkin as well as cucumber for powdery mildew. It's the hot dry conditions and insufficient water. Ah well can't have everything.

makerealbany - 2014-02-04 21:58:00
5887

We have eaten the single cucumber on our plant this year! LOL. And I think there's only one pumpkin as well. I must check the carrots and put in another batch and get the lettuce plants I bought a while ago into the actual garden. It's the little things I keep leaving till tomorrow. I'm working on beanies and bootees for TM order this week so won't have much for the shop on Monday which will drive me nuts. Thank goodness tomorrow is a holiday, I so need a break and not sure if I'm brave enough to take Friday off as well with both programmes up and running as of today. Mind you, they can reach me by phone, I guess. I'm finding the hardest part is keeping enough work flowing through to the administrator. She hasn't been in the job long enough to know how to generate work for herself and the hiccup this week will be getting the WINZ schedules through to give her work on Friday. They usually come on Thursday and she doesn't normally come in on a Friday. If I'm not there Friday she won't be able to get the mail, although there might be a way round that, now that I'm thinking about it. I have 2 staff that choose no to bring their cars to work and it's a jolly nuisance when they could be running errands etc as part of their jobs, and no we don't have a work car anymore. Doesn't warrant the cost. Gosh, a 4 day weekend sounds so good...........

grizzly4 - 2014-02-05 06:31:00
5888

Yes it does grizzly. You sound like I used to ha ha. I have been gardening again today. Got my Sil to cut out some more tree stumps. Planted a Bay tree I have had in a pot, emptied a compost bin. Checked my worm farm. They are still alive ho ho. Went to the gym this morning and asked the instructor why my machines orange lights were up instead of green. She told me I was too slow according to my medium. So I pushed myself harder and at the end I was panting faaaaast. Put my key in and brought up my workout and I had exceeded my target by 100 points plus I had lost 380 calories duh. Honestly we just had the computer fixed and we all had to retest so they could enter the data. Hope it is not corrupted again. Got dishes to wash and then I want to finish the sleeves on the cardi. maybe an hours quilting first ha ha.

makerealbany - 2014-02-05 19:56:00
5889

Had a great morning out on the bikes yesterday. Lots of fun, I was so hungry by the time we had lunch at 2 then fell asleep in my chair. LOL. Woke up to run errand but had to come back early for TM stuff to be picked, fell asleep while waiting. LOL. Went for a drive to see where I. has been working in the inner city. Saw the building I was in less than an hour before the Feb 'quake for the first time. It' still waiting for demolition. Anyway came home and fell asleep again. I couldn't believe it! And I still had a good nights sleep as well. It must have been all that fresh air out by the river and the work out my quad gave me. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-02-07 07:07:00
5890

Good on you. I had a nap in the afternoon as well ha ha. Got my cough back. Think I got a mouthful of sawdust yesterday I can taste the darn stuff. Irritated my throat. Went to the gym this morning then up to Orewa to the Friday Event ho ho won the meat raffle which was great as I needed to buy meat. Had last nights casserole for tea and I have been quilting. Raining here. Not hard but steady. Good for the gardens, not enough for the tanks.

makerealbany - 2014-02-07 20:44:00
5891

I'm coughing, too, LOL. Must have been the dust we kicked up on Thursday at the river. Sawdust is nasty stuff, though. I just received a red face on TM. for some net curtains I listed for the shop. They were lovely curtains in brand new condition, complete with the tape at the top but someone had cut them shorter for what ever reason. I listed them for small windows but there were so many in the bag I didn't measure them. Buyer never asked for specific size, either. Not a great start to the day. However really enjoyed my day off yesterday. Planted lettuces, tidied up the lily stalks, did some housework and some end of month stuff for the shop, bought a couple of nice tops from Postie sale and some decorative blue glass miniature bottles for my bedroom windowsill, watched a couple of DVD's 'cos it was so cold and finished one of the TM orders for beanies etc. Went to McDonald's for tea as I. wanted to try a Georgie Pie. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2014-02-08 09:58:00
5892

Finished the last order for TM but now TM won't open up one of the buyer's home page! They had better still be planning to pay! Went out on the bikes again yesterday but I sat in the sun and worked on a crochet blanket to put in shop on Monday. My quad needs a new battery and it will be just my luck to stall when I try to cross the river. LOL. Crochet seemed safer.

Blanket finished, another beanie started. LOL. Yesterday was a lazy day (apart fro working on the blanket), visited our new great-niece bearing gifts. Pretty wee girl, she is and so placid. We put one of the wee quads on TM as the boys have grown out of this one now and we need to put the money towards a trailer.

You had better get that battery for the quad. Don't want you stuck somewhere. I have a couple of infections because of my Immune disorder . Not nice the last two days. Went to the GP again today for more meds and had my lab tests. Feeling weak as a kitten today. Never mind thinking positive for tomorrow ha ha. Got to start cooking tea as it takes me ages!!!!!!!

Sounds like someone else should be cooking your tea for you. Time to look after you for a change, methinks. We sold the baby quad and it's going over to the West Coast as a surprise for a wee boy. How nice is that? Now the hunt is on for a trailer which is the right size for the right price. Got to work yesterday to a 6 inch high layer of paperwork covering my desk from just one day off! This week is going to full on by the looks of it, at least the days will go fast. I am knitting a beanie and bootees in a lovely variegated teal colour I bought in the Knitworld sale. The other colour I bought turns out to be 8ply so will have to change my plans for that one as I only bought the one ball. Not sure if I'm having computer problems but the weather site has been all over the place the last couple of weeks and I can't access the Teddytime catalogue to get more of the wee bears I knit jerseys for and the Colmar Brunton surveys won't come up which is a real pain as you can earn Flybuys points by doing them. I don't seem to be having problems anywhere else, though. Very odd.

Gremlins again aye grizzly. Still very washed out today. I planted a few plants and rested. Just kept dozing off. This afternoon I picked my grandson up from preschool and drove him home. My daughter did an early shift and wS going to get him herself but I wanted a walk on the beach. Did me good. We walked the dog and K4 kept looking for treasures ha ha. He found about 10 Cicada shells to take home. I had some tea there and came home. The Cicadas here are deafening. Not allowed gym for a week not that I want to lol. Going to have an early night.

I hope you feel better today, makerealbany. I have woken up this morning with a head cold, darn it. This morning is the first group for our local women and I'm taking them to do some archery! It's been years since we've been able to do this because the organisation moved out of the city after the 'quakes. I'm really looking forward to it so the rain better hold off till after lunch. LOL.

It was great fun and really hot because it was so sheltered. Lots of laughs and a few Robin Hood wannabes amongst us. LOL.
