the interview couldn't have gone any better :)
I had done my research well but more importantly - the knowledge I gained from my diploma meant I had answers at the ready when quizzed on things like the importance of tourism in NZ and the impact of tourism (both positive & negative) here.
I'm buzzing right now - as you can probably tell lol!
They will phone with the decision tomorrow ... it's going to be a long night!

I have dealt with Lee often through the past summer season. He is a true gentleman & delight to work with. Their retreat is out-of-this-world and if I ever win lotto then I'm heading there for some pampering!

Good morning all,

I had my weekly night out at a pub quiz last night & there was fog along the coast when I got home.
Looks like it's going to be a cracker day today though.
We failed miserably at the quiz - 2nd to last!!! Oh well - at least I knew what the type of seafood goes into a Caesar Salad!

thanks EA :) I not nervous .. just excited. I spoke with my new colleagues daily in my last job so I feel like I know them already.
Just hope I can find a new home soon ... it's around 70km each way from where I live now to work!

thanks EA, i have the bus route sorted....also gonna have to do a bit of walking...my first day is induction and then at the auctions for the day...that should be interesting....wonder if it will be perth mansions they are auctioning lol
good luck winnie.....hope your day goes well too....maybe the place pam suggested would be good for a temp place until you find what you want...cheaper than petrol for 70k trips

hope everyone survived the chilly night warm & well!
I had a good first day at work though got sent home early because of the extreme weather conditions we had here in Nelson Tasman yesterday. Was drenched by gale force sleet battling my way to my car!!!

It was so cold here yesterday,down to freezing point,but am blessed for a wonderful warm home.
Atm the roof is leaking sign but have someone coming around to fix it shortly.

I hope you're all keeping warm with the snow and frosts and storms nation-wide.. a few of them politically! Seems a little too easy for the government to have 'backed down' about the educational changes so quickly.. not something that would usually happen at all...

I have the fire going here too.. though have just visited a darling friend who has been admitted to hospital today with a heart attack.. she's kind-of my honorary Mum, dearly loved by us all.. she thought the pain she got around 2am was from her flu vaccination yesterday, phoned her daughter after 8am, before she usually goes to visit at 9am, she crossed the road quickly to her Mum's home, ED, lots of tests, x-rays, etc.. a heart attack. It's shaken me.. she, her daughter and her hubby and I have been close friends more than 33 years.. I'm thankful the hospital is so close for her to have been taken there quickly once her daughter was there. She is 96.. and still lives by herself, an amazing friend and role model and also honorary Nana for my kids.. we love her dearly...

I sprinkled some lavender essential oil onto a new handkerchief and took it for Sally when I visited.. she loves the fragrance, and it'll help soothe her worries.. it's tucked into the top of her nightie so the fragrance is close to her.. and a little reminder for her that we all love her and are sending our love from across New Zealand and from Australia..

hi everyone...julie hope your friend is better...and those down south wow at the pics ive seen of the snow. though cold it looks beautiful....job has started slowly but the people are very nice...seems its going to be easier for me to drive rather than take public transport...bit nervous in the traffic but it will get easier...now to also find somewhere to live...though i can stay where i am for now ...im still living out of a suitcase ( 4months now) and im so over it...i crave my space!! right talking of work i better got get ready for another day...have a wondeful weekend

Wow! So much to catch up on :)
I've loved my first week at work. Mostly mature women which I haven't had in a work situation before and is great! For once I'm not the grandma lol!
Today I had a break from my computer training and went out on famil (familiarizing myself with things to do in the region). I spent the morning at Happy Valley Adventures doing a quad bike tour (loved the mud puddles) & the skywire (giant flying fox over the bush canopy) and then this afternoon I went for a ride on a segway (google it!) tour around Nelson. I love my job!!!!!
Tonight I'm staying the night gratis in a classy room at one of Nelson's premium backpackers/travellers accommodation so I can go flat hunting tomorrow (and I can promote them as a good place to stay).
Life is good!
EA - I hope your roof is fixed & you survived the wild weather with no further mishaps.
Ellie - the storm debris across the region is phenomenal! We saw lots of huge branches down off trees around the Wakapuaka area when we were driving back in from Happy Valley.
Cooke - my favourite colour is red :) I love using the tea set you sent me with the red dots on it!
That's a bugger about your reaction! Enjoy that pinetarsol bath!!! (I'm weird I guess because I like the smell but I've only ever had to bath my daughter in it when she was a bub ... never myself!)
Juliewn - how heart breaking for you. I hope your friend pulls through this challenging time. My prayers are with you.
Motorbo - picture what you want ... see yourself having it ... make it the last thought in your mind before you go to sleep & the first thing you see when you awake. Don't just hope for it - see it happening! Thoughts are things & we can influence our future :) And if you haven't watched or read The Secret - do so!

I've found myself a new home :)
It's only a little 1 bdrm flat but it suits my needs fine. It's in Atawai so no traffic issues ... I can drive to work in 5 mins or bike in 15 mins or so along cycle paths. I've got a paddock next door & I can see the sea so not too much suburbia for this country chic :)

Fantasic news Winnie,it keeps getting better.
Thanks guys our roof is now fixed and free of leaks,but we need to get the roof painted inside,as it has water marks everywhere,not a good look.
