Good for you. I had to have a break from crafts because if my eye. Now it feels so much better so I can get into it when I get home tomorrow night. Went to our Xmas function at the bowling club. I gave everyone of my friends beautifully wrapped jars of bath Chrystal's . Apart from one friend who gave me a Christmassy plate everyone else gave me chocolates ha ha. My daughter just said to me"wish I had some chocolate" I laughed and showed her my pressies. She is happily munching away. She is as thin as a rake so I am delighted they are being appreciated. My hips don't need them ho ho makerealbany - 2013-12-13 21:18:00
I have 3 boxes in the cupboard already as well. LOL. I am almost beside myself about this computer problem I'm having at work. I keep getting emails from the third parties involved but nothing is working. All the stuff I feel good about having achieved since starting my job is being over ridden by this problem. The other of our full time team left yesterday so now it's just me and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was a bit messy yesterday and having to put a happy end of year face to everyone else I saw. grizzly4 - 2013-12-14 09:51:00
I feel sorry for you. So frustrating having technical problems as well as no full time staff grrrrrr. It will be sorted grizzly. I have done three loads of washing, made the beds, Christmas cake in the oven, fed the dragon, the cat, the dog and cleaned out the fish tank. I am at my daughters. Going to have a cuppa while waiting for delivery guys to pick up furniture which was wrong. My eldest grandson is coming up from Hamilton with my great grandson so will be busy all day ha ha. Try and have a great weekend. Go for a bike ride with I. makerealbany - 2013-12-14 10:35:00
Whoah!! Go back a bit! Fed the dragon? grizzly4 - 2013-12-15 10:40:00
I finished the Christmas shopping yesterday.and I'm going o the shop this morning armed with phone numbers of computer troubleshooters to try and get one to meet me at my office this afternoon. grizzly4 - 2013-12-16 07:53:00
Inexia is a big lizard. We call her a dragon because she looks like one. She is the cutest thing. Expensive having to buy live mealy worms, dried crickets and other yucky stuff but she also eats salads every day. Went to Frozen with my daughter and the kids yesterday. Great. She is in a club so we get to the prelims for 10 dollars. Then went to a neighbours for a Xmas Barbie. A very good day. Good luck with the techno. makerealbany - 2013-12-16 08:02:00
Inexia sounds very cool. "Geeks on Wheels" is who I called and they are my heroes. A very pleasant young man spent half an hour sorting it all out and then checking my whole system. It was all to do with Internet Explorer not forgetting the initial problem and every time I tried to log on to this site it 'remembered' the previous problem. Never had this issue before but now we are working through Google Chrome and as I predicted had the Police checks done in less than 5 minutes. But at least now I can move on. LOL. I have a couple of meetings with new staff and a haircut organised and then I will pack up work to do from home to meet a couple of deadlines. I guess it's officially my last day for the year today. Finally. Everyone else has finished at work. grizzly4 - 2013-12-17 07:47:00
Yah less Geeks on Wheels. I went to the gym and then spent the day shopping. Got home absolutely exhausted. Had a nap lol. Just finished my ironing. My haircut is booked for tomorrow. Had to cancel last week because of my eye. Time to go to bed. makerealbany - 2013-12-17 23:20:00
Haircut tick: tick. New staff employed: tick. Big basket of bookwork here at home to do: tick. LOL. But technically I am now on holiday. Yippee. I am knitting Barbie dressing gowns at present. Very cool pattern. grizzly4 - 2013-12-18 08:35:00
Haircut tick. Thank heavens I felt like a wooly sheep. Mum has now flown from Brisbane to Sydney to stay with my namesake niece. Boy does she get around. Flying home on Sat I don't have to pick her up as she is flying from Sydney to Rotorua. So she has cut her holiday short ha ha. When Mum wants to go home she does. I mowed all our lawns today but have to weed eat tomorrow. Sprayed the weeds as well. My cucumber, gherkins, lettuces producing. Tomatoes, beans and pumpkin all growing well. Peppers a bit slow as are the zucchini. Daughter has been cooking all the Christmas tarts and biscuits. Brought me in a lovely basket of them. Also a big bunch of bananas so I will bake something with them tomorrow. Getting through my list. More presents to wrap. Gave my sewing machine a good clean and service but have been too busy to use it. Penciled in Saturday for sewing as no babysitting that day. makerealbany - 2013-12-18 19:49:00
Your garden sounds great. My beans are flowering as are the potatoes. About to replant lettuces for the next round and the radishes are just about finished as well. Flowers on the cucumber and pumpkin. Tomatoes on the tomato plants. My son and I experimented with a kumara plant in greenhouse LOL and it's quite a big plant that is spreading. Have you grown them before? grizzly4 - 2013-12-19 09:12:00
Took B8 and L6 to Chipmunks yesterday while I. and our son worked on the bikes to get them ready for Christmas Day. We are hoping to take 2 mini quads, 2 3 wheel farm bikes and my quad out to the river to play. This day has been almost a year and hundreds of dollars in the planning so it better come together!!!!!!! grizzly4 - 2013-12-20 10:07:00
Wouldn't you know it? Supposed to be having Xmas picnic with daughter's family as they are away from Xmas eve and it's supposed to be pouring just after lunch! he wants to go anyway. LOL. That'll be because her husband can't make small talk in someone else's house. Sigh but he still wants his presents.. grizzly4 - 2013-12-21 09:56:00
Yes I have grown Kumera. No room here at this time. Hope the day does come together grizzly lol. I am off to the shops. I must be mad as traffic is so bad. Never mind this is the last time I have to go. Have has a busy few days booking an organizing Mums ticket back from Sydney on Christmas Eve. Sometimes my Mum and my family try my patience sigh. This holiday has so far cost me 500 dollars. Toll calls as well. I need a millionaire sugar daddy ha ha makerealbany - 2013-12-21 14:15:00
Mmmm, families. I know what you mean. Organised a picnic yesterday for daughter's family so they wouldn't miss out with going away. Weather wasn't great so barely got to eat lunch open presents and the boys had a quick play in the playground before bringing dessert back to my place as it got really cold. I organised all the food except for bread rolls and a bought pav but as usual daughter and SIL left with no thank you and no help with dishes. They make me so mad those two. grizzly4 - 2013-12-22 09:53:00
That would make me mad too. I'm at the beach . Last babysitting until the 29th yippee. Tomorrow I have to weed eat. Was going to yesterday but ran out of time. So after that we will be sorted for Christmas. Coming up here for breakfast and then all the family are coming to our place for Christmas Tea. Kids all have inlaws to visit during the day. I have my young Mum to visit and take a Christmas hamper to and one neighbour left to drop a pressie to. I would have a word to my daughter if I were you. My kids all help to clean up. I hardly do a thing except play with my grandchildren and my great grandson. We have lots of meals together as well. My kids are very considerate lol. They even rope the grandsons girlfriends into helping ha ha. Ok girls you clear the dishes and well put food away and load the dishwasher. Hee he. Now the girlfriends know what is expected of them. makerealbany - 2013-12-22 10:28:00
She thinks serving dessert is her job done! LOL. Off to shop for the last time this year. I have made Barbie dressing gowns in. I won a Christmas cake in the raffle so cutting some up to take in for our customers. Then it's back home to start organising last minute jobs like cleaning windows. grizzly4 - 2013-12-23 07:40:00
I did my last lot of shopping tonight. It has been a go go day. Was up early weed eating while my daughter water lasted the driveways. I took 3 of the grandchildren to the reserve for 2 hours with lunch. I was so tired after chasing them up hills over dales lol. We sat right at the top watching the water skiers . Kids had a ball. I drove home, M and I got out daughter jumped in and drove K home. J and K fell asleep so my daughters had a chat and some peace ha ha. I was all set for a Nana nap and my neighbour called in. Left at 6 to go to work. I had a shower and went to the supermarket. We had put all our outside Christmas lights up early in the day so when I got home everything looked so pretty. I put the turkey in the fridge and the frozens in the freezer , then I went to sample a glass of my daughters homemade Baileys. Now I am off to bed. Bags of groceries are winking at me but they can wait until tomorrow ha ha. makerealbany - 2013-12-23 23:39:00
I know how you feel! I have a page of things to do today. My sister and her husband are here for Christmas dinner tonight with my son and his famly. I have housework to do plus the cooking for tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow is supposed to be picnic stuff out by the river with all the bikes that are finally good to go but the weather is supposed to be bad till the end of the week. the boys, both young and old, are not going to handle their disappointment well, methinks, and we are all going to be stuck inside. Such a shame. My daughter left for Dunedin this morning with her family. No Christmas with us for the first time ever! Feels a little odd, although they would not have been into the bike thing at all. grizzly4 - 2013-12-24 09:29:00
Well I have finally finished cleaning yah. Visited J and baby N today took M and J. M loved holding N. The kids cleaned out their toys and took bags around to N we also gave them their Chrissy presents. A lovely visit. Home and then the cleaning started in two houses lol. My daughter peeled the Veges for tomorrow. I only had to do a pumpkin. Tomorrow we are having breakie up at the beach then home to cook our Christmas dinner. Everyone will be here about 6 so we will be cruising. All organized. Mum got home ok. Had a chat to her. She enjoyed herself but is happy to be home lol. Have a lovely day tomorrow. Merry Christmas. makerealbany - 2013-12-24 23:16:00
It is pouring here and windy yuk. Grandchildren were up at 6 so I dragged myself out of bed to watch the fun ha ha. makerealbany - 2013-12-25 08:05:00
Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful day. We had a good night last night after a long day of preparation but then I got a lie in this morning as family don't arrive till lunchtime here this year. Weather is lovely at present, a shame we couldn't take the bikes out this morning, but the forecast isn't great after lunch and tomorrow is supposed to be worse. My doom and gloom BIL said last night NZ was in for 2 weeks of bad weather. Heaven forbid. grizzly4 - 2013-12-25 09:32:00
Had a fantastic day yesterday. We all ate too much lol. Today We cleaned up and chilled out. I had heaps of strawberries and cream left so searched for a strawberry cupcake recipe on the net. Cooked 3 dozen as I have two extra grandchildren tomorrow night. They are so tasty with whipped cream and strawberries on top. More kilos ha ha. I texted my son today and offered to babysit so he can take my Dil out for a surprise Birthday dinner. He was very pleased and reminded me not to tell her if she rang up lol. Then I texted him him again and told him to bring them to me so they can have a sleep in. He sent "Cool" back ha ha. I'm now going to watch "the Doctor" makerealbany - 2013-12-26 20:34:00
Took P for a walk this morning. We both needed it. My little Foxie has been spoilt rotten and was looking faaaaat. Lol it's hard to monitor what the grandchildren give him all the time. We both feel much better. He is dozing lol and I am finishing my housework before the next lot of visitors. makerealbany - 2013-12-27 09:39:00
Christmas Day was lots of fun on the bikes even if were soaked to the skin in the rain!!! Came home for hot showers and Christmas tea. Boxing Day had breakfast at Bean Scene café with a friend who turned 82 on Christmas Day and her family. Then braved the crowds at the Warehouse to spend our Gift cards. We bought new tie-downs for the bikes, café curtains for the toilet, car polish, sandshoes to wear on my bike and a new dish rack. You know, all the little things, you keep putting off. LOL. Still have cards left, too. It's still raining, so disappointing! Family over today so I hope they bring their new games to play. grizzly4 - 2013-12-28 10:34:00
Wow was I worn out today. Had E1 and J11 for the night and until 4 today . I was sick all night though. Couldn't sleep so was on automatic pilot. When the kids were picked up I fell asleep. Woke up at 8 and drove up to my daughters who is working tomorrow. I never went to any of the Boxing Day sales. I have vouchers but couldn't face the traffic. We all had a great day at the beach yesterday. Got in the car just before it rained. Tomorrow will be a quite day with K5 but we need to go shop for a Birthday present for his Aunty. She is 43 tomorrow. Phew I am feeling my age ho ho. makerealbany - 2013-12-28 21:54:00
What a nightmare being sick with kids to look after. I had severe migraines from the age of 12 to 46. (Yep menopause cured them) Looking after my kids was dreadful and they happened a couple of times a week and lasted nearly 3 days at a time so I couldn't ask people to come in that often to help and "back in those days' the trucking industry didn't allow I. to take sick leave to help me. Mind you 5 days wouldn't have lasted either. I just muddled through even gave up taking anything but basic pain relief to take the edge off because I was on so many awful drugs that never worked. I thought menopause might change things as I never got them when I was pregnant or breast feeding. But what a relief! My life changed completely. grizzly4 - 2013-12-29 10:58:00
I have only had a few migraines and that's when I was at Uni. Awful things. We all went to the movies yesterday afternoon. I napped hee hee. Home today and cleaning up the porches. Got to go out and babysit tonight, tomorrow and then New Years Eve night for three of the grandchildren. The two I had when I was sick are up north for a week. Thank goodness. I was given voucher for a manicure and pedicure but no time until Friday maybe ha ha. makerealbany - 2013-12-30 09:53:00
That's a nice present. The personalised plates have just arrived for my car. As it's a dark metallic brown the plates read CHCBLK , do you get it? or have I already told you, I can't remember. LOL. grizzly4 - 2013-12-30 10:43:00
I'm off to Blenheim in the morning till Friday afternoon. I hope you have a great start to the new year! grizzly4 - 2013-12-31 18:59:00
Have a great time grizzly. No I don't get it Chocolate Block? Christchurch ? Tell me when you get back. All my three grandchildren are asleep. Whoopee. Sleepover while my daughters throw a New Years Eve Party for my grandson. makerealbany - 2013-12-31 20:26:00
Right first time Choc block. LOL. My daughter's idea. grizzly4 - 2014-01-01 07:31:00
Am I good or what Choc block ha ha. Had a gardening day. Mowing our huge lawns and weeding. I am now buying oriental poppies. I have Christmas Lillie's which flower beautifully every year. Bought my daughter two for her birthday. We always buy oriental lily flowers and so I thought I would start some bulbs in pots. The canna Lillie's are in flower and lovely. Although my Choc one seems to have disappeared. I'm hoping it will pop its head out from somewhere. Keep searching thru the jungle ha ha. The other Lillie's are so tall and have really spread . Have to cut out a petticoat for Ms birthday tonight. makerealbany - 2014-01-02 19:00:00
Wow! No-one mentions petticoats anymore, do they? I'm back! Had a nice day or so with Mum and Dad but just as glad to back to my girls as well. I need to decide which day to go into the office next week and it's starting to play on my mind a bit. I have all the book work still to do that I brought home. grizzly4 - 2014-01-03 14:52:00
No book work today again, fine enough to play on bikes. LOL. grizzly4 - 2014-01-04 09:36:00
Had great fun out on a friends farm with the bikes. I have sore arms and shoulders now LOL. Everyone else is going out again this morning but I am being good and starting on these accounts. I am trying to finish a matinee set in the evenings as well, and I have a great selection of books I am moving through. There has been no time for sewing or cross stitch these holidays as I had hoped. grizzly4 - 2014-01-05 09:00:00
Just finished the ironing and now it is pouring. Great. My daughter and granddaughter have taken the little ones to an indoor pool. It is M6 s birthday. Can you believe that? Where have the years gone. I spent lots of time gardening so today is a good reason to stay inside. I am going to knit. Smashed my big toe this morning on a wood pile. J my old cat decided to attack P for no darn reason. I yelled at him but he would not stop. I had my jandals on so jumped on to the woodpile near him., pretended to kick at him and hit a hunk of wood lol. He ran off, P is fine but she cried for Awhile. My toe was bleeding, P was crying, little K4 was mad at J. Kept yelling out " you naughty, naughty boy" My daughter had not heard a thing. My other grandchildren were dancing to really loud music. J knows he is in disgrace he has not come inside. Cranky old bugger. P is only young about 3 now. makerealbany - 2014-01-05 13:10:00
In hind sight sounds pretty funny to have seen it. LOL. I hope your toe is feeling a bit better this morning. I managed nearly 7 hours of accounts yesterday. Probably another 3-4 to go but I'm off to open up shop this morning. I even finished the matinee set. grizzly4 - 2014-01-06 07:50:00
Good for you grizzly. 7 hours of accounts yuk. My daughter had to put down her cat at the beach last night. They were all devastated. He was only 7 but he had surgery a couple of years ago and got the same problem back. Vet was unsure if this time would be any different. It cost a fortune last time. My girl had to heed his advice. Luckily K4 was with me for the night. We took all the kids to Rainbows End today and the kids had a ball. Even Nana went on some rides lol. It was M6s birthday treat. She went on the big Roller coaster 3 times lol. Never got scared. Later on she jumped up on stage at the Magic show as a volunteer. What poise ha ha. We asked her if she wanted photos with the supporters after the show. " No thank you I'm too old to pose with people dressed up in costumes pretending to be others" She loves dressing up in costumes but we understood her lol. makerealbany - 2014-01-06 20:09:00
Very cute! OMG back to 5.30am starts, haven't had to be quite this early for awhile. I keep telling myself how much I will be able to get done, LOL, so we shall see. I have errands to run this morning and groceries to do then back to the books this afternoon. grizzly4 - 2014-01-07 07:08:00
Went to check out the Knit World sale this morning. I queued for over an hour to pay for the wool I bought. LOL. Haven't been in that shop for 3 years! grizzly4 - 2014-01-07 13:05:00
My goodness queuing for an hour. You are so patient. I look at the checkouts and if there are long queues I walk away ha ha. Went to Massey this morning to take part in a Psychology Perception test. Took me back in time. I'm doing another experiment in two weeks. Came home did some spraying, planted another lemon tree and dug holes for the Guava and Bay tree. I have to transfer them from pots tomorrow. I bought 12 Lillie's from the warehouse for 2 dollars each today. Was thrilled about that. They are watered and in trays under the shrubs. I also bought some from a Christchurch Trader on here. Paid for those today and I have 3 to pick up from Orewa tomorrow. I have just come in from the garden so I will shower and knit. Had to check my emails to see if my niece in Aussie had been in touch. makerealbany - 2014-01-07 20:16:00
All those lillies will look amazing! You have to explain the Pyschology Perception Test you did, it sounds very interesting. How did you get involved in that? grizzly4 - 2014-01-08 06:38:00
I worked like a dog yesterday (strange saying that!) and gave myself a headache by evening. I think I will go to work today, there is a slight chance it might be more restful. Blanket is half finished, too. grizzly4 - 2014-01-09 06:45:00
I answered a request in Asksharegive an online group I belong to. They did 36 responses . I had to close my eyes and they touched my wrist, arm or palm with a brush. After 3 beeps I opened my eyes and had to mark a sheet as to how it felt. I had a breathing monitor and was wired up to 5 other sensors. Very interesting. Obviously my response to slower brushing prompted a pleasurable reaction but faster and harder brushes gave a neutral reaction. I will be keen to see the data on what my breathing rate was like ha ha. Took about an hour and I was given a $20 voucher for Westgate for my time. I enjoyed participating. Just came inside at 8 was working in garden all afternoon and have just cleaned up my cottage. Picked up heaps of Agaves from my son and planted out a bank, then weeded another garden. It rained last night so the garden was easier to work in. Want to clean it out for my Lillie's. makerealbany - 2014-01-09 22:09:00
I feel completely wasted. Real brain drain stuff going on this week. And the early starts. I was up at 5 this morning! I've beaten the rubbish collection trucks and almost the sunrise. But to be honest, today I would love to be still in bed. I'm not sleeping well due to a an insect bite I got 10 days ago when I was on the beach. I put antihistamine on it the first night and it was fine for about 4 days but now it's driving me nuts and it's a large red patch. Trying steroid cream on it now but not getting much relief. Same thing happened to some bites I got in the garden in Spring. They all turned septic and yet I am so careful not to scratch them and always use antihistamine straight away. Weird. grizzly4 - 2014-01-10 06:27:00
Maybe you are run down grizzly. I find bites will go like that if I am worn out. Then I get darn shingles. Listen to your body. I am ok at the moment. Love the summer. Just got in from the garden. Went to Bingo won $55 ho ho. Called into the fish shop and got three polysterene boxes to experiment with. I just need to get some worms now. Had to pick up the water blaster from my daughters and bring it home for my other daughter to use tomorrow. Potted some herbs in pots after a salad for tea. My beans are really doing well. Got some Black Boy seeds so will pot those tomorrow. I want to grow some for my widowed daughter. They had some beautiful ones in huge pots when they lived in Aussie. So I am starting early on her Christmas presents ha ha. makerealbany - 2014-01-10 20:58:00
And I am up early again this morning as I. has to work Saturdays in this new job. I am in the shop anyway so I'll get a few things done before I go. My beans are going well, too. I check every morning and slice them up straight away for the freezer. Tomatoes are huge but a bit slow to ripen, not enough sun the last couple of weeks, maybe. I've bought another dozen lettuce plants to put in this weekend. grizzly4 - 2014-01-11 06:53:00
I am up early tomorrow to go mind K4 at the beach. He is not very well but his Mum has to work. He has a virus. Mowed lawns after the gym. Got more compost today and some other varieties of strawberries. Swapped a bucket of plums for worms for my worm farm. Dug out an old rotten stump and got some Hutu bugs for Inexia the dragon. She will be pleased lol. Feeling tired but happy lol makerealbany - 2014-01-11 21:23:00
Sounds very satisfying. I'm in the garden today, too after a big lie in this morning. LOL. Finished the blanket last night. grizzly4 - 2014-01-12 10:39:00
