Hi all, I have been unable to find the weights of many of the MacMaster Gold medals and at the moment am looking for the weight of the 1971 NZ Bred Racehorces Gold Medal made by Hawkins Enterprises listed as1971/1. I would really appreciate help with this if someone has 1 handy to weigh.

Hi Ben, would have thought it would have weighed between 25 to 30gm at that size, but at reaching only $800 and with an estimate of $500 it must weigh a lot less.Would be great to find that correct weight.

If you live in Invercargill or Masterton or anywhere else not in the Auckland zone DO NOT BID Sorry the Post Office is on to me and will know if I try to post coins."
Assume he means New Zealand Post Ltd (?) Now if he was being targeted by the GCSB aka the Gold Coin Shipping Bureau he would have something to worry about.

He clearly hasn't grasped the idea of packing stuff so (a) it doesn't rattle and (b) it can't be felt or identified through the envelope.

He was probably buying the envelope and putting items into it while at the post shop.

Do a search for " glad wrap " in coins. 41 beauties being kept crisp and fresh. That's what the Auckland trader should use .Why have we all been wasting money on coin holders?

Haha awesome and at least you know what plastic it is made of unlike some coin holders 863658972 . I have asked the trader and he has no idea. It is surprising the difference after a few years I stored UNC coins in 2 types of cardboard holders and 2 plastic flips they have all toned differently (sadly the cheapest holder still looks the best).

I have done it again with 4 different cardboard holders and 2 plastic flips for the 2010 Goiter error coins to see what happens

Hi there. Can anyone please tell me if these are real coins, and maybe what they are worth? I inherited them along with heaps of treasures, and I don't know what they are. They are a set of 5, and come in little coin holders.
Thanks : )

i havent either. im guessing they are swamped. im in the same city as where they are being dispatched from, and its only a small operation that runs on short hours. they are open something like 6 hours a day and dont appear to have many staff members.

Heard today that they are working flat tack to deal with the huge demand, and got an e-mail later on saying my order had been processed, so fingers crossed ...

Yes, Taiwan, 10 Taiwanese dollars, year 89 (AD 2000) - I assume they're all the same design. They're base metal (cupro-nickel), not silver, and catalogue at about $3-4 retail.

Received my order yesterday. Happened to go into the post office as well and got one in change. Also 2013 10c and $1. All nice and shiney so don't need any polishing! Still haven't seen a 2012 10c or anything from 2014 yet.

2012 10c have been in circulation for over a year now and the 2013 10c only started appearing around Christmas along with eh 2013 $1

good stuff. can only imagine how busy they are. no email here yet, but not worried at this stage. checked my account on their site last night and its still showing the order, so thats one thing i dont need to worry about.
while on there, i also saw a new anzac stamp pair that is a collaboration between nz and aus, of which one pack also comes with a coin. its $20, comes with the two stamps with first day covers from here and melbourne i think and the coin. might get one for mum, who collects stamps. its not released until 7th april i think.

Sill I think it has been poorly handled by NZPost they could have got the coins a week or more ago and had them all ready to post now we end up paying for postage when we could have just gone to the post shop.

Yes - if the release date was Monday, they could have been packaging last week and got them out on Friday to be here on time. Mine are here today, three days after the official issue.
