Yep expect sales to go well, our Relay is at AgResearch grounds in Hamilton, it's amongst trees and parklike - really lovely setting. Just have to hope for pleasant weather, although last year even though it rained, the atmosphere was so great.

I have been working on this quilt - it was going to be for my grand niece, but went and visited her yesterday and my older sister (the baby's grandmother) has made them heaps of quilts, lovely too I might say, so I'm rethinking and it will probably be donated as well.

Then, I might have to have a break. Is that possible for a quilter to do?

yep, in my case the break was spent buying more for my stash, and doing crossstitches to turn into wall hangings

No not me either, but I will have a peek. I use my Husqvarna 2000 that I bought when I first moved to Hamilton to go flatting in about 1971. It came with a 25year guarantee which at the time seemed like forever. It still goes a treat, no problems worth mentioning although I found a lovely man out Ohaupo way that services them and it got a good looking at a couple of years ago after we'd bent the part where the needle comes down and it was hitting the plate.

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been on for a while, few problems and that upset the dreaded diabetes but I pinned a message on Stan's door and he came and whisked hubby and I off on a wonderful holiday (I wish). He had to dash back though said he couldn't leave Twi on her own for too long otherwise there would be so much washing up that it would take days to get it all done he! he! Anyway back now and hopefully everything will sort itself out and I have had some tests done and so far so good do here I am.
Hello datoofairy, I remember when you bought your Elna, hope you are still in love with it. Don't think my MB friends have told but there is a requirement to be allowed in this thread - you don't have to be mad but it helps.
Anyway to celebrate my return still alive and kicking please join me:

Judy thats great, the old machines were built to last.
I bought my first singer featherweight when i was 18, i picked up another one a few years ago at a car boot sale and just recently i pulled them both apart and made a really good one out of the two, i oiled it lol it had never been oiled um ooops had to get the timing fixed hehe but all good now. I sewed a few quilts with my daughters elna, it was ok but the singer sews much quieter and weighs alot less.

Just know you are going to love your machine Liz. I am a Bernina girl but Janome is a great brand and one of the ladies in my quilt group bought the same model last year and she is absolutely thrilled to bits with it.
Glad you enjoyed the cheese and wine Twi, not my lounge just a little cranny on the side of the house.
Nite all, I am off to bed, sweet dreams.

Morning all, hope the head is not too bad this morning Coalie, now I have told you before, never mix red wine and white wine that is what does it lol!!
Dog off the vet this morning - aggaiin - think the vet has seen me as a soft touch.
Maybe will feel like sewing later, haven't done any for well over a week, maybe its withdrawal that is the problem. Just haven't felt like it. Have a great day and you can all make up for me.

have a great day all, hope the vet gets your dog all sorted out this time Fran.

You right Twi is it the paperwork that does it, have just finished stepson's GST so feel good now, it has been hanging over me like a bad smell and I just couldn't get head around doing it.

pre-washing fabric... it's hot here again, so have decided i will spend the morning pre-washing all my fabrics that still need it... i think i have over 6 metres that needs doing... whooops! now what is it you add after washing to dark colours to prevent any left over die running?? is it vinegar or what?
