wow those are awesome judy... Now here a question for you guys... What kind of batting do you use??? liz_taylor - 2010-02-21 16:33:00
In my "Moon over the Mountain" quilt for our bed I used wool, and hand quilted it. It is our summertime blanket. It was so lovely to quilt. For these Canteen Bandanna ones I have used old wool blankets in some (because I had them available) and dacron in one. The latest one for my grand niece has dacron cos I imagine it will need washing more often. Edited by yduj at 4:46 pm, Sun 21 Feb yduj - 2010-02-21 16:45:00
cool. My hubby's "scraps" quilt will be using an old (bright orange) wool blanket. For everything else i have done so far i've used "warm and natural" cotton batting... I dont like the idea of using polyester in between all that lovely cotton... Only problem is it's expensive. Why does no one sell batting on TM??? liz_taylor - 2010-02-21 17:49:00
And so much for no sewing today... managed to get all the blocks sewn and pressed. Now all i need to do is trim them up, and put the top together :O liz_taylor - 2010-02-21 17:50:00
i have to admit i use dacron/polyester batting in all my quilts. because that washes better twilight23 - 2010-02-21 18:41:00
stack and slash looks a bit like crazy patchwork aye twilight23 - 2010-02-21 18:43:00
Your quilt is lovely Judy, wow one happy girl to get a gorgeous quilt like that :) coalrange1 - 2010-02-21 19:00:00

I agree about the wool blanket and washing it - but, I have attached labels on the back of those ones and suggested they are handwashed with woolmix and state that there is wool inside. I hope whoever wins a quilt, will treat it with respect but that will be out of my hands. yduj - 2010-02-21 19:05:00 |

Hi Liz, i use cotton batting just cause its so soft and cuddly :) you do have to wash it before using it tho but thats not a big deal it goes in the washing machine in a cold wash. Edited by coalrange1 at 12:00 pm, Mon 22 Feb coalrange1 - 2010-02-22 11:59:00
