Had 3 yr old great nephew here this am, he lives in Wellington but came up with his dad who had a meeting, now I am more informed about Thomas the tank engine lol.
Was hoping to be able to go to the park while he was here but it rained virtually non stop this am and cleared up nicely as they left.
Managed to do part of a crochet beanie while he was here am finding having one on the go is great to be able to pick up and do a bit when ever there is a spare moment or two whereas with knitting i have to do a full row if I pick it up.

Will get on with the socks this evening

We have no Thomas fans at the moment but Mr now 17 almost drove us insane with Thomas 13 years ago, I knitted him a Thomas Jersey. Can't find any pics though.
I always do full rows of knitting too. It is a pain if the phone goes.

Thomas I knitted Mr T's son a Thomas jumper think I still have the pattern but that was 30 years ago , when he was 4. well I am getting a wiggle on up the fronts of this jacket, enjoying it now, all of a sudden I am happy again, life's good I can now see all 6 grandkids, and sorted out my shit at home, roll on summer

We also have a son who drove us mad about Thomas lol. He even had a wee Thomas train set :).

I've had a mouse get into my knitting.... grrr.... have emptied my bag and no nibbles from what I have seen but need to wash everything. Thank goodness my baby alpaca wool is OK, I'd be devastated if it had been chewed! And another trap has been set!

I'm off to school today, looks like it' going to be a fine day too :)

Morning all... We are feeling more happier too.. Even tho we have a couple of peoples with cancer just diagnosed, hopefully both will be ok.

Ouchies a mouse in the knitting isn't good.... Where was the Furry one Kiwimade? lol.

Thankfully Ive never had to do anything with Thomas the tank engine. Mum did a lot of picture jumpers when my nephews and nieces were young tho.

Shopping this morning, then home to do a clean on the kitchen.. Then Im ready for visitors.

This needles yarn is very stiff to knit. Ill keep going with it tho. Its a variegated, crimson pink and cream.

Popeye, I find some of the needles yarn quite soft, and others quite firm. I'm not sure why it's so inconsistent, but maybe it's to do with the dyes. The pastel ones I've used in the past have been very soft but the brighter colours do tend to be on the firmer side.

I would like to know where the Furry One was too popeye lol, he has since found a 'secret stash' of his doggie biscuits the mouse has hidden behind a small cupboard. I suspect the Furry One was snuggled under the bed blankets!

I'm about to pick my needles up and knit for a bit, MrK is cooking tea as I worked today :). My dad called from Aussie while I was at school so I'll call him back later this evening.

This wool certainly is trying... I still haven't done 20 rows of ribbing... Ill have to decide tonight tho so I have something to take with me tomorrow.

We are being taken out for lunch if we are away from hospital early enough. so that's nice.

My back is icky tonight, too much standing today... but Ive taken my sil and shown her my yarn stash.. She is impressed lol..

Lol Kiwimade re the Furry one... Bobcat is still off colour and sulking, but when I opened a packet of those temptation bikkies he would have eaten the lot if I wasn't handing them to him.

A very early start tomorrow. Up at 5am arghhhhh.. on the road at 6am..

It has been lovely here too, a chilly wind this morning but even that's gone now.

I couldn't sleep - I've been awake since 4.30 so decided to get up and have an early breakfast and try to do something useful. I'll have to wait till Mr K is up before I can vacuum the floors, he won't be impressed if I wake him with the noisy old vacuum cleaner.

I've now got 10 squares done popeye, they are 10cm x 10cm so just the little ones which I think are nicer for babies, they seem to be very limited in the colours though, my stash of "left-overs" seems very small at the moment. I'll do some more over the weekend and pop them in the mail on Monday.

We have a physiotherapist coming to the house at 10.30 to help Mr K with some exercises to try to strengthen his legs, and then presumably we will go for our walk. It's a clear blue sky but boy it's cold. I've lit the fire. Mind you my sister phoned from the UK last night and said it was only 6 deg and it's still summer there. Brrrr.

We were watching the Commonwealth Games and commenting how it was summer over there but the commentator was wrapped up with a winter scarf and woollies lol. I know Scotland is further north but I think I love our summers more!

No I didn't join the early risers this am - was awake and reading but not keen to emerge from the blankets.

it is nice and sunny here but it is being very deceptive - go outside and the wind is freezing so staying in and getting housework done so can relax with the knitting later.

We have had one very long day.

Left at 6am, home at 6pm...

she has to have more surgery so they did a pre opp check today too.. Thank goodness they had a tv in the waiting room.. But Boy those chairs were rough on the tailbone.
I decided only to take one ball of wool with me and knitted that. Should have taken the second one I was going to.
Stopped in at spotlight on the way home to get my black wool. Got 300 grams of another variegated one $3 a ball. Got $31 worth of yarn for $19.

We missed out on going out to lunch. So got fish and chips for tea. And they were super busy so things didn't get drained as well as normal..

Will be going to bed soon and watching coro with my blanket on.

Thanks re the squares Kuaka.. the little ones are cute eh. We could find any sockwool in spotlight...

Right a quick check of things and Im off to my bed

morning ladies :) I crashed yesterday, felt like I had no oooomph left in me. This dam bug just knocks the stuffing out of you. Just when I thought I was coming right too! Friends have told me this bug takes about a month to get over. Haven't time for that lol so will push on albeit a tad slower.

Am going to make the most of the gorgeous day and get outside for a bit (wrapped up warm). There's not a lot of weeding to do as I've kept the weeds down over winter but a bit of a tidy up won't go amiss. Then later I'll knit/stitch/crochet.

Morning everyone.
A bunch of tired bodies last night that's for sure. We all slept well tho. And they are on their way home now.
We have been to a couple of garage sales, got a huge piece of red broderie englaise material and several other odd pieces. another stack of plastic drawers which are now sitting beside my chair and preventing one little girl from playing with needles etc.
Then went to one close to home and managed to get an old coal shovel to put in my cat litter bucket, been looking for one for a while. So was meant to go there lol.
Lovely day here, cool wind.

Have got a tonne and a half of left overs to finish off. they all had fishermans baskets last night and miles too much in the pack for one lol.. Plus left overs from Thursday lol.

A very quiet day here now, will knit soon,

morning all. just the neck band to go on the jacket yippy. going to be a nice day , took the grandkids out yesterday to the small lake and there was a boat there remote controlled about 5 ft long the kids liked watching it, then went to garden centre and bought plants and a rose bush for their mummy,

Morning everyone.. A glorious day out there, but I reckon is wasn't far off a frost.
Finished the back of the little hooded jacket I started. But later today I will start another baby blanket. And I need to get Mrs Claus started after that.
Taking MrP out to maccas today , so that's to Pukekohe.. He wanted it on Friday , and to placate him I told him id take him there today.

Great tv viewing tonight.. Yay.. Call the midwife and A Place called home.. So Ill watch it in bed and do some squares while Im there.

Managed to buy an old style writing desk from the church that's closing down. Im really happy with that cos we used to have one but had to sell it when we moved into the bus. Could possibly get it today otherwise tomorrow evening.

afternoon ladies :) Getting there slowly popeye :). Managed to mow about a third of the lawn with the help of the Furry One. Will do the rest tomorrow, am shattered. Can't believe it as I would usually blat around and do the whole lot in under an hour and a half. Took me an hour to do a third! Am teaching Tuesday so want to get it all done.

So after lunch, I'll sit and do some knitting/stitching or crochet. I've started some hardanger for me. I just can't get settled into any one thing at the moment.

Looking forward to next lot of call the midwife too Popeye, I read the books about 6 months before I knew that there was a tv series done and have enjoyed both book and series although they are a bit different to each other.

Finished the socks and now making some small vests from wool that I have had for a while - nice and relaxing.

I love the jacket Carole... As they say a Blind man would be pleased to see it. You will find no one will really notice it, unless they are knitters themselves.

I really enjoyed Call the Midwife and A Place called Home last night.. Didn't even knit or anything. I just enjoyed watching it.

Off to the drs this morning, nothing wrong with me but they like you to see them twice a year rather than doing many repeat scripts.

Then Im going to be changing furniture around to accommodate my desk we ended up getting yesterday.

Morning ladies, thick fog here this morning. I enjoyed Call the midwife and Place to call home too - although I prefer it when the setting is all in the one era, not flicking back and forth, and the way they age the actors times isn't all that great. Last night they made Sarah look about 140.

Have to take the cat to the vet this morning, just for her annual check up and 'flu jab, then I will probably do the pigtails on the cabbage patch beanies and then I can give them to my friend tomorrow.

popeye I will pm you this morning, need your address again for squares to send.

kiwimade, hope you get your oomph back again soon - it takes a while. Luckily I've avoided it so far.

I won't stay in here long as i have caught the bugs going round. Have been off work since last Tuesday and i have another appointment with Dr tomorrow morning. Sinus infection and a very chesty dry cough. A runny nose and a headache i dont wish on my worst enemy.

A good report from the drs... BP perfect as usual, good cholesterol could be a little lower but within range. Bad cholesterol very low lol Yay.

hi ladies :) had a day in the classroom today and now I'm knackered lol. Am feeling a lot better though, the sinus' seemed to have cleared up. I'll get some berrocca tomorrow and that will help with energy levels. Back in the classroom tomorrow too :) I'm pretty sure I'm not contagious anymore, just need to get the energy back.

Morning everyone. Coolish and calm here today..

I hate getting warrants too and ours is due next week..

Yeah the blanket isn't your normal pretty pastels, and I really didn't think I would like it but I do. It has a little or organized matching but not too much.

Have to pop up the road for a couple of things then Im going to collect all my office gear from multiple places and put it all in my desk. Laminator and guillotine included, instead of being in the depths of the wardrobe lol.. Will make it a lot easier to use too.

I will start Mrs Claus today. At least she doesn't have any black on her.

Wasn't Wentworth good last night. I didn't even knit I sat and watched.. that's not normal for me and Ive done it twice this week already lol.

Morning everyone.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. It bring us relief that hes not suffering , but its a bit weird feeling here at the mo. missy knows Bob isn't here and is making a fuss of us both.

We just did something I hadn't been able to do with bob here. Put my knitted blanket, the woven one on my bed. Bob was a heavy moulter and it would have got covered in fur. Missy doesn't appear to shed any hair at this stage.

I have to go post the sales I took for a ride yesterday. The queue in the shop was almost to the door so I didn't bother to stay.

Oh dear Carolev about the keys but great that you managed to get them dry quickly - my usual is the forgotten tissue in the wash but usually happens when I have dark, fluff collecting clothes in with it.

Great that you are starting to feel better Kiwimade and yes you will beat that mouse I'm sure.

Went to Skeinz yesterday for one ball of wool to finish off a little vest I was knitting and came away with 14 balls! Fortunately I was walking so had to limit myself to what I could carry! They had some lovely colours on special so couldn't resist.
At present am knitting some socks out of wool I dyed on monday, was trying to make a pattern like the brought sock wool and it is coming out quite interesting.

Off to town this am and then hopefully on with the knitting, am keen to see how the new wool knits up.

lawns are done! woop woop! lol omg what a mission! Even though I had been mowing them over winter it was still hard slog. I suppose when you haven't been feeling 100% it seems harder than it is.

mrK is making a casserole for dinner (bless him!) so I've got the kettle on for a well earned cuppa. Thought I would pop in here while it boiled.

I'm going to have a go at wool dyeing when the weather gets warmer as I have no where inside where I can dry it in the winter. Can't wait to give it a go! So over the next few weeks I'll keep an eye out for some white wool so I am good to go :)

Hello ladies. Crook as a dog here. Been off work since Tuesday 19th. No sick days left at work but that is the least of my worries.
My lovely neighbor rung to see how i was the other day and yesterday brought over a homemade bacon and egg pie so that is tea taken care of for the next couple of days.
