I wonder how many Nelson Mandella stamps will be issued? I think all African Nations (at least sub-Saharan nations) should put out a memoriam set.

Both of the above. Actually Jeff Long has just returned from the Brazil International Stamp Exhibition along with his better half Jenny and is taking a table. Perhaps its to help defray his travel costs!

Sure it aint the provision to buy back all the unused decimal issues which dealers have salted away over the years & are now worth a fraction of face value ? ;-)

The 2014 ACS New Zealand stamp catalogue has been published. Any comments? They say there are more rising prices than falling. I see that they still haven't addressed their overpricing of health miniature sheets but i agree with increasing the prices for recent used health stamps as very few of them get used in the mail.

o.k. interesting if you look at the two auctions this perosn is offering for FFQ. one is : 676356810.

Two auctions the same, for a very specific set of items, also, wouldn't a fold be straight in nature and ragged, seems like a repair job being sold as a fold, any views?

No they are often like this. It looks like a genuine pre-printing paper crease to me. Quite a nice item which should really have been sold separately

It is impossible to tell if it is genuine based on such a small photo. The seller needs to do a decent scan which takes up the whole image area (ie learn to crop an image) before trying to list/sell such an item. From what we can see the stamp looks okay. Nobody in their right mind would send a stamp of this type to the UK for a certificate. Only certificate I'd accept would be one from the Royal Philatelic Society of NZ but you also have the problem of proving that the stamp on a certificate is the stamp in question when it is a mint and perfectly centered stamp. If you buy this stamp on line do so by making the purchase conditional on it being accepted as genuine by a person you both respect as a knowledgeable philatelist and reserve the right to return it if it doesn't pass muster.
Good luck.

Expensive old Merryweather Pump 10c stamp anyone ?

A real Xmas steal .. only $25k for buy now or $20K if ya wait til after midnight ;-)

Only of 1977 vintage .. really rare in some parts of Christchurch by a few accounts ;-)

Think they were told last time they tried running this one on here, that it was worth about 10c and most dealers had a few buckets full surplus of them ;-)

The plane left but blew up over the ocean, all that remained was a slick of cheap stamps floating on the surface.

Its going up to 49 cents at the end of January. Mind you, you can go and purchase "forever" stamps in the USA and they will always be valid for standard postage.

I presume you are talking about $35 in booklet panes selvedge. Not an error. It is the value of the sheet of (100) stamps the panes were taken from to make up the booklets. Same as you can get imprints, colour dots, reprint kiwis on some booklet panes.

No not all booklet panes have value or imprint markings. CP Catalogue prices booklets with kiwi reprints and imprints, also Dunedin Stamp Centres booklet Price list includes value, colour dots, left and right panes. Some can be very ellusive.

I bought a bulk lot of King George VI stamps (100's, it said in the auction description) many months ago, and the buyer e-mailed me to say they had sent the stamps before I had even paid. This was very nice, but I received a big box of stamps from The Bailiwick of Guernsey the next morning. I e-mailed the buyer many times, and even posted feedback, but got no response. I of course held off on my payment. I now still have these stamps and the auction has disappeared from my TradeMe page. TradeMe cannot help me find the person, they said. I would know the seller's TradeMe name if I heard it again. I have searched high and low for the person to send the stamps back. I remember seeing the stamps I had originally bought were sold to another member but I didn't realise at the time that they were the ones I had won. That auction information, along with the TradeMe name of the seller, has now also been withdrawn. Anyway, was this you? I don't suppose I will be getting my King George stamps but I do want to send your Guernsey stamps back to you.
