| 5551 | if you are buying items off the ebay, then selling them on trademe at a 500% markup, how can you possibly not be in trade? am I missing something here?? dtpapa - 2015-02-08 09:54:00 |
| 5552 | Of course these people are in trade. There are also people who have second hand/antique shops yet are not in trade on this site (?). TM is not interested. alpha111 - 2015-02-08 10:34:00 |

| 5554 | Welcome to the Coin Club. We are an assortment of newbies and oldbies, amateurs and experts with questions and answers for oldbies and newbies, amateurs and experts in coin collecting, also known as numismatics. Whether you are just getting started, have been collecting for years or have simply found some old coins about the place that you’d like to sell, this is the place to ask your questions. No one has all the answers, and you may get five differing answers to the same question, yet each may be right in a manner of speaking, especially if opinions are involved. Opinions often vary. If you receive no answer to your query within 48 hours, please ask again. echoriath - 2015-02-08 13:07:00 |

| 5557 | if your letter/parcel with your coin has obviously been tampered with, would it get sent back to the sender by nz post, or would they deliver the empty parcel to you? dtpapa - 2015-02-09 15:33:00 |
| 5558 | I suspect they'll just deliver whatever is left. I had to go hunting down the footpath for some coins that were poorly packaged a few years ago. They had probably been damaged in the postie's back by the heavy rain at the time of delivery. They had also been poorly packaged and many were floating loose within the envelope. When I pulled the letter out of the box, a couple of coins fell out and landed besides several others already on the ground. I look back the way the postie came, and there were a few more! I found almost all except the one I had really been after. echoriath - 2015-02-09 16:31:00 |

That's probably why the Americans invented ten grades of Uncirculated :-) Bill Lampard used to say that UNC is not a grade, it's a state - once it's been "circulated" it can no longer be truly UNC, no matter how good it looks. Rattling around in the production machinery may create bag marks but they are still technically uncirculated. translateltd - 2015-02-12 06:52:00 |

I'm not totally familiar with this particular fault but suspect it isn't widely known, and more information will be needed from collectors who have examined their Geo V coins closely to establish which other dates/denominations exist. translateltd - 2015-02-14 11:24:00 |

Interesting and worrying - I will have a couple of pieces to double-check now :-) One item that I have had since the 1970s is one of those Scarborough "doubloons" illustrated in the SCMB article - someone correctly identified it at the time and I've kept it as a curiosity since. translateltd - 2015-02-15 13:04:00 |

Probably not a lot, realistically, if the pack is cracked in a couple of places as you describe. Wonder if it might be worth popping all the coins out (carefully) and selling them individually if they're all still in perfect original order. The ones in the plastic packs are technically semi-proofs rather than full proofs, though - it makes quite a big difference :-) translateltd - 2015-02-19 12:04:00 |
