Its nothing to do with 'sense of humour' ellie, as you well know. But carry on with your little 'friendly exchange'.

I have to admit Ellie ~ I am with Charlie... what you may view as "friendly exchange/banter" with Uli... looks to the rest of us... (well to me anyway) as constant bickering. You become guilty by association. And we don't want banter/exchange encouraged back to this thread. Just my 2 cents for what its worth.

Morning Morning Morning ~ And what a lovely morning it is......

I am so looking forward to the long weekend... The weather forecast looks great... I was driving home so excited last night after my busy week... was sad really lol as the only thing on my to do list apart from housework is to pick up a "1 metre long pizza" That I brought off a one day deal site and have a family picnic.... apart from that I am going to chill, knit while watching a DVD or 2 (I have a jumper to finish before this winter for my Dad as I missed last winter lol) and refine the art of relaxing. All the hard graft at Christmas time is starting to bring its rewards.

Have a fab long weekend everyone... Take Care JB

wonders who the underdog is in this case, Uli often hunts for old threads and brings them back to life and often it seems to be that its underlying reason is bitchy as, she has done it to me too. bringing that link in here wasnt nice ellie, and it would have hurt EA, EA is a lovely lady and doesnt deserve that, if you want to be friends with Uli, all good and fine but we dont want it in here

which is why I have so often defended the underdog.

I think thats what we are saying, as admirable as it is.... maybe let others fend for themselves if they are upset about something. I would much rather ignore a comment aimed at me than have someone else leap to my defence and a whole debate ensue
.
When "People" make the provocative remarks or bump old threads I have a visual picture of them say "YES" and fist pumping the air when someone bites.... My personal feeling is that ignoring them takes away their satisfaction....

And as Forrest Gump would say.... "Thats all I am going to say about that"

Housework done... off out to lunch with hubbie so we don't mess it up lol.

thanks for the well wishes, much appreicated ....... yes i used to bite back and was no better than Uli and Buzzy...when i tried to defend myself against them....until they got so so nasty i couldnt stomach it anymore and now ignore them...its so sad to see people be that cruel to others.

motorbo, your two cents is worth as much as everyone else's.

I also notice 'bumping' for wind-ups, but in this case I thought uli had a genuine interest in bumping earthangel's low carb thread (however old) because at one stage earthangel was a registered member of the low carb website and there are still people there genuinely interested in her wellbeing.

All the best for Aussie! It's still known as 'the lucky country'...

Hi everyone,
thought it was about time for an update from the beautiful Abel Tasman.
I've been here ... but more lurking than anything recently as I too got tired of the 'differences of opinion' overshadowing anything else.
Life is still going great for me - I've been very busy at work although the end of January lull is kicking in as holidaying families head home. Bring on February when all the child-free folks take their hols!
Miss 14 goes home tomorrow - can't quite believe that she's been with me for 6weeks!!! Shhh - don't tell her but I'm going to miss her lol ;)
Had a lovely surprise during the week - apparently I won an award last year for top Diploma student at my school. I didn't go to my graduation because of work so knew nothing about it until the head of studies asked for my address so she could post it to me. I received a book 'Lonely Planet's 1000 Ultimate Sights' with a mini version of the award glued into the front cover. Very cool indeed!
Apart from that - not much to report on the food front except that I'm sooo looking forward to having a real kitchen again!
I've decided to move into Motueka at the end of the season once all the summer workers leave so Ellie - if you hear of a 2 bedroom flat/unit/house on the edge of town going long term for under $200p/w - sing out please :)
Happy Sunday all ...

Ummm - maybe you have no idea why "some people" bump old threads fisher... Personally I do NOT go "YES" and fist pumping the air when someone bites.... " and yeah if you want to ignore those threads - feel free to do so.

*wandering out of a circle of friends* - without hopefully disturbing the friendly crowd.

Edited for clearly showing my post....

New Year Resolution: DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT!

Good for you Ellie.... And the heavens have sent you something to help you practice lol

*Waves at Fisher* bet you will be glad when all the tourists leave you to your lovely spot.

I just had the funniest thing happen..... I was sitting at the dining room table trying to make sure the back was the same size as the front on the jumper I am knitting... having a whole conversation in my mind.

"mmm I should get Ma & Pa over for dinner tommorrow night.... but mmmmm what do I have in the freezer that will make a nice meal for 6..... mmmm maybe do something with chicken breasts... mmm no that doesn't excite me"

And at that very moment the neighbour walks up our side steps with a huge frozen boned leg of lamb in his hands..... Your hubbie and I are trading wood for meat.... (hubby was helping him solve a problem - and has been for the last hour)
Wow I said.... Thanks... are you sure you don't need anymore wood? lol.

So how cool is that another "Toadie Clan" get together tommorrow night.... yaahhhh.... Roast Lamb my favourite!

Will keep my ear to the ground, winnie. You might be able to get someone's holiday house if you want it only for the winter. Some people are happy to let their houses until the peak renting time comes again in November/December.

No Ellie - I'm looking for long term. I don't want to have to be trying to find a new home when I'm flat out at work. That's why I'm going on the hunt during autumn ... I want to be settled once the new season kicks in.

Thanks Ellie ... I realise 2 bedrooms for under $200 is pretty optimistic but if you don't put it out there then you'll just never know. One bedroom plus sun-room or something that'll make it big enough for when Miss 14 comes over is good too.

Hi all,
I've just been out tramping & camping in the northern end of the Abel Tasman National Park ... lovely time (apart from the mosquitos & 1 night not being long enough). Was good to see 1st hand what damage the floods in December had caused to the track. Hats off to the DOC staff - there were some massive slips but their repair work to get the track open again were top class!
Hi Motorbo - how's Australia?
Hope everyone is well & happy :) Enjoy your long weekend!
It's back to work for me in the morning but I have no complaint against working an 11hr shift on a public holiday lol ;) Ka-ching ka-ching!

Hi Cooks,
was wondering if you had some nice fish recipes,or anyone, that has no white flour or sugar please.
DH caught an elephant fish last weekend weighing in at 14 pound, also some grey boys,so have lots of fish in the freezer.
Can it just be pan friend with lemon.
Thank you all in advance.

Thanks Ellie ... nice place but OUCH to the price tag!
The right place will come along ... it's still early days & most seasonal workers don't leave until after Easter.
TGIF! I've been doing some long hours & I haven't been to town in 2 weeks. Cupboards nearly bare so it's Fat Tui for me tonight yum yum :)
Shopping & chillaxing for me tomorrow.
How's everyone else?
