I have some mint NZ social security stamps. 1d, 2d, 3d, & 6d.
Would like to know if there is any interest in them, and any point putting them on TM??

Put "social security stamps" in the search box at the top of the page and you will get a better idea.
Value depends on the year issued etc.

If they are from Nelson make sure you give them one table at the south end and one at the north end and we can all watch the fun!

Hi there, just found a stamp album in a pile of books.. nearly every page is compiled like this, the writing is so fine it looks as though it has been printed using a computer... has this album more value than one that has been just put together " willy nilly " ... note the rare health stamps are not in the collection but does start from 1909 - 1913 up untill 1971 - 61 pages

The pages are much cleaner than the scan...

Beautifully done and a pleasure to look at but the value must as always be in the stamps themselves and none of these are particularly old or valuable. Sadly a willy- nilly arranged collection is just as valuable if ther stamps are in as good a condition.

No its not a stamp but a sheet of Christmas seals some times called cinderellas. it does however have some value. The sheet you show would probably sell without difficulty for $5 on trademe

dont you hate it when you have a qulaity item, you sell for a reaosnable price and then nothing.....you get the success refund, but not the listing costs, so you loose money and have to re-list......wish these epople who just ignore auction rules were booted off.....grrr thats my tantrum over.

New Zealand 1979 10c Health Stamp colour error.
Just seen a couple with a real nice colour shift
Is it sought after by collectors and can someone possibly provide an approximate value for this stamp...... cheers

Is this where the green colour has doubled?
If so, it's catalogued at $250 for an unhinged mint stamp.

That's the one thanks.Reality is that catalogue value isn't what you would actually get for such an item.
Would 1/3 or 1/4 catalogue be more realistic?
cheers

There will be nine dealers there, including one back from Nelson for a second time in a row. So should be plenty of material and bargains to be had for all.

There is a good and reliable full time stamp dealer in Hamilton who has a very good reputation. You should try him. his name is Alan Craig

It should be a good day on Saturday. stamps at Mandeville St 9am to noon, Canterbury beating Auckland in Rugby at 2pm and then the All Blacks beating Australia. What more could one want!

All three happened today! A great stamp fair with lots of interesting people and good sales, a great Canterbury victory over Auckland, a good All blacks victory over Australia (Any win over Australia is great!) and the weather was also superb. Another day in godzone to savour!

Yep, just post the letter back to yourself and see if the stamp gets postmarked this time.

Many stamp Collectors, especially those who specialise in New Zealand stamps will be saddened to hear that Warwick Paterson died this week in hospital. Warwick was the Managing director of the Auckland Based New Zealand stamp dealing company, Campbell Patterson Ltd who became famous for their Specialised NZ stamp Catalogue.

Oh Shucks. That didn't happen. But today was another great day in Canterbury. I've been playing with stamps, and of course Canterbury did beat Wellington in the final of the Rugby so its back/back/back/back/back/back wins!

To keep this thread more to topic perhaps NZ Post should issue a commemorative set to celebrate this important occasion in Rugby history?

It would be more appropriate to to put a little CP logo on some sheet margins instead of kiwis to indicate a reprint.

on a more low key matter can anybody remember the approximate number of stamps in 100 grams on AND off paper

I have seen it quoted for overseas mixtures but really these days it depends on so many variables such as the % of self-adhesive stamps, if it is a business mixture and of course what country as some countries issue much larger stamps than others. You would be better to do a sample count to work out how many.

Yes there are other topics for us on NZ stamps but lighthouses are one of the best selling. What topics would you suggest?
For me I'd like to see sets featuring New Zealand Stage Coaches, Gliding in New Zealand, the New Zealand national cycleway, Training ships, Power stations, Stewart Island. NZ Fighter Aces. NZ Explorers. no doubt others can think of other good topics that haven't already been done.

If they did issue stamps featuring prime ministers they would have to be self-adhesive otherwise people might spit on the wrong side.
