Yes it was lovely. My grand daughter sang a Solo. Mozarts Figaro. Well I was so proud could not stop the tears lol. Yes the Midwives dress the newborns and put bootees on them. Some of the Mums need a hell of a lot of parenting skills. Sometimes they do not have a clue. Grrrrr. We have all put on weight grizzly sigh. I am motivating myself to join the gym again.

Little J has a high temp again and I have K as well so no knitting today. Will drop off K at lunchtime thank heavens.

Lots of people around with coughs and colds. Scary plus.
One of my ongoing knitting auctions has disappeared so I went to reinstate it and have now found that a photo file saved on my computer for all my TM auctions has been completely deleted AND YET it's not in the Recycling bin. Gremlins, I hear you say? The only gremlin in this house has a gimpy knee. LOL.

Must be getting chilly. Knitting orders are picking up. Currently working on a white prem matinee set.

5455

We have a gremlin here as well grizzly lol. Just got my first partial order from Deramores. I am thrilled. Can't wait to start on a set for little E. Patterns are lovely. Took J to the GP yesterday and he was a condescending Ass. My daughter told him off. Lectures about working mothers and the correlation with children's illnesses. Said its viral well we will see. My girl told him she would be back if J got worse given his history which the twit had not read. She told him if he was wrong he had better be prepared for the outcome of his own actions. Ha ha. Bet he did not feel so superior after she left. Anyway it is a sunny day. Tiler is tiling the kids new bathroom and the plumber will be back again tomorrow then the electrician again. Sigh. Looking very posh lol.

makerealbany - 2013-06-25 09:57:00
5456

Once again increases my lack of faith in 'professionals'. My GP told me last week he was pleased to see he had finally got rid of my cough!!!!!! I was there for 15 minutes max and didn't happen to cough during that time. I paid my fee for my time with him and he spent it on a toll call and checking the weather on his computer!!!!!

grizzly4 - 2013-06-26 08:03:00
5457

I am so lucky with my GP. All my kids have had problems with GPS . But we have learnt to assert ourselves and now most of us have good doctors. Medical centres are hopeless unless you have a good team that have been together for years. Family ones like mine are great. The darn cheek of the man grizzly. You should have read him his pedigree. My Mum gives hers hell. If she tries to race her out the door Mum who needs sticks or her walker tells her I am paying for 15 mins and I have 5 left and that's how long it will take me to get out the door. Lol My sister cringes but we all laugh. Bad sisters. Mum sticks up for herself and as she says she wants her money's worth ha ha

makerealbany - 2013-06-26 13:32:00
5458

I like the sound of your Mum. LOL. I'm going to LIncraft to shop for work this morning. Any bets I'll walk out empty handed, myself? Watch this space.

5459

Just got another part of my Deramores order. One of my boys gave me a 100 dollar visa prezzy card so I spent it on wool ha ha, I am knitting Little E a cardi in Magic Knit. So colourful M thinks its beautiful. It is no use knitting in pure wool because the kids hardly ever hand wash. This is an acrylic as little E has sensitive skin and never wears wool. I knitted her merino singlets she wore as a newborn but the skin problem developed and so acrylic it is.

I am watching grizzly. What happened at Lynwood?

makerealbany - 2013-06-27 19:10:00
5461

I behaved myself!!!LOL. Bought some almost navy wool to do another aran jersey for the shop and a ball of Panda Circus for a dolls layette. They had buttons for 99c for 6 so grabbed some of them as well. Do you have Lincraft close by, makerealbany? Funny you should call it Lynwood because it's in the suburb of Linwood. LOL. It's an Aussie store so most of the brands of wool come from there. But they do have beautiful fabrics.

grizzly4 - 2013-06-28 08:03:00
5462

No I haven't seen one here but my Dil took me to one in Sydney. The buttons were a good buy. Don't know why I called it Lynwood vibes aye lol. I am off to the bowling club for Housie this afternoon. Need to get out of the house because I am kid free until tonight ha ha. Too tired really but I will feel better having a cuppa and a love with friends. Have a good day.

makerealbany - 2013-06-28 10:12:00
5463

A Housie afternoon sounds very pleasant. I haven't been since my kids were little. Lovely and sunny here today, family coming over so hopefully my son will trim the tops of the trees along the drive. Don't won't I. up a ladder at present.

grizzly4 - 2013-06-29 10:32:00
5464

I wouldn't want him up a ladder either grizzly. I cringe every time my Sil gets on his motorbike in the lousy weather he has to travel up north for work. Sigh with relief when he gets home. Not bad here either today. Knitting time now ho ho

makerealbany - 2013-06-29 20:48:00
5465

Haven't done much knitting this weekend. Trees were lopped but only just made it before the end of the weekend. Men's priorities amaze me sometimes! And all my hard work budgeting goes out the b*#%* window. I'm not sure where I am taken more for granted here at home or at work.

grizzly4 - 2013-06-30 18:18:00
5466

Oh bugger grizzly. Sometimes it does feel like that. Whipped down to see my son this arvo so I could measure little E's arms. Thank goodness I did she has very long arms lol. I had a short but nice visit. It was a hell week and the visit and playing with her did me good. Now I can start her sleeves. My Dil tried to get me to stay for tea but I wanted to get home before it got too cold.

makerealbany - 2013-06-30 19:38:00
5467

I don't blame you. It's too hard to warm the house again once you get home. We only have a column heater and will only leave it on low if we are out for a short time. Very cold overnight. My cold nose kept waking me up, or was it the girls climbing in and out of the bed trying to keep warm too. Mac kept my feet lovely and toastie.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-01 07:54:00
5468

Yes cats are good heaters at times lol. Got a haircut today and when I got home I was locked out. My Sil was not working today and I drove him to the garage to pick up one of their cars that had been serviced. My Daughter had all the spare car keys with the house keys in her handbag. She was unavailable because of meetings. Said handbag was in the warddrobe. Anyway I lent him my set of keys. I have keys to both houses, etc. What I did not know was that after he picked up M from school little J fell over and split his forehead so his dad raced him to the Emergency Centre. Of course he forgot about everything else as we do when that sort of thing happens. Our little man is okay but he has the worst bump and bruising I have ever seen on a child. When I saw him as I was cuddling him he told me all about the big fright he got when he bumped his head. My Sil was looking very pale. Lets hope tomorrow goes more smoothly.

makerealbany - 2013-07-01 20:58:00
5469

What a stressful day you all had! Thank goodness J is ok, very scary. I have ordered My Mum a cardy for her birthday online weekend before last. Still has not arrived and I need to send it to Blenheim tomorrow for her birthday this weekend. I will be so disappointed if she doesn't get it in time. I bought Dad a jersey from Postie so his was easier. Their wedding anniversary is Saturday, Mum's birthday on Sunday and Dad's birthday on Monday!

grizzly4 - 2013-07-02 08:53:00
5470

I hope it arrives grizzly. It is stressful when things go wrong. I am keeping J home from preschool as he is on Pamol every 4 hours. He told me it hurts Nan. Poor little guy. I started E's sleeves for her cardi but that was as far as I got maybe today. I ordered patterns from Deramores and I really like them. I am knitting myself a snood next. Looks really nice and so easy too.

Early start at work today, making felt purses at the Women's Group.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-03 07:51:00
5472

I am knitting now ho ho. Took Ms to school had a coffee with her Dad and little J. Cleaned my cottage and now relaxing until tonight's duty lol. Bliss.

5473

I have been working on a couple of prem sets of beanies and bootees for an order on TM. Really struggling with our computer again because of some drop down ads that have appeared and interfere with everything. I have been hoping I. would check out the links we have been given to get rid of it but obviously hasn't had time yet! Going to play minigolf with L6 and B8 tonight as part of a family event at work. Should be fun.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-04 07:51:00
5474

I like Mini golf and the grandchildren like it to. Just got to sew up bubs set and knit the bands. Started on a lacy Poncho for myself tonight. I never sew up my knitting at night now. Ha ha. I have 175 sts on my 6 needles. Haven't knitted that many for ages. Got a text from K K today. Had a great sale on so I dashed down after dropping K at school. My daughter had to detour for miles to pick him up today so did Js Dad. He picked up J at 12 30 and could not come home the usual way. Power lines over the road. Thought it would be sorted by 3 30 when T went. I saw them working there this morning and roads were open. Another big screw up grrrrr.

makerealbany - 2013-07-04 20:49:00
5475

Lovely afternoon out at the bowling club. Nice day weather wise too. Just relaxing before K arrives for the night. Knitting my poncho.

makerealbany - 2013-07-05 18:36:00
5476

Having an awful time with computer! Stupid drop down ads are slowing down the whole thing and when I try all the uninstall links to get rid of them nothing works. GRRRRRRRR! Last time we got someone to fix it took ages.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-06 08:36:00
5477

Worked with grizzly today at the Purple Patch, it was a lovely day so warm we had the doors wide open, can't believe this weather. Great to catch up with her again, we were kept busy with jobs and customers.

suzy59nz - 2013-07-06 18:21:00
5478

There's always jobs for us to do, eh, Suzy? LOL. Wait till my new partner on Monday morning sees all the hangers she's going to be changing over!
You have donated some amazing stuff to the shop. L6 stayed over last night as it is his parents 2nd wedding anniversary this weekend. He slept in the new double bed surrounded by his giraffes and pillow pets. LOL. Lucky I didn't get a single bed for in there. Going to try and finish an aran jersey for the shop then have a beanie set to do for TM.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-07 08:51:00
5479

That's great that you and grizzly caught up with each other working in the shop Suzy. Weather not too bad here. I finished a quilt today. Single size for my grandson. Had problems with one darn edge but all done now hurrah? I sewed for 4 hours today. Bit hard on my back. It was sunny and so I had really good light lol.

makerealbany - 2013-07-07 19:45:00
5480

I can just picture him in the big bed grizzly. My youngest grandson is the same surrounded by animals. I will get an hour or twos knitting done and then it's bed for me.

makerealbany - 2013-07-07 19:47:00
5481

Best weekend I've had in ages! Yesterday, I got the books done for the shop, washed my windows and my car and finished the jersey. With all that out of the way roll on the next fine weekend when I can start tidying up the garden.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-08 07:49:00
5482

Really windy here and I just love all the washing flapping on the line. Lol. Just finished all the housework in both places and having a cuppa before I race off to get J from Preschool. Might have a lazy afternoon. Ho ho.

makerealbany - 2013-07-08 12:01:00
5483

That's one of my favourite memories from having my babies: a line full of nappies in a nor'west wind. They were dry in 30 minutes. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-09 08:06:00
5484

Beanie set all finished and ready to post. Can't wait to start something new tonight. I will spend all day at work anticipating what to start. LOL. Taking the Women's Group to a Walnut Farm this morning, we are going to freeze!!!!

grizzly4 - 2013-07-10 07:59:00
5485

OMG hope you did not freeze. I spent the day out with the boys. Hectic lol. My youngest grandson is being toilet trained. He just peed on the edge of a quilt I was showing his cousin. One has to laugh or else. Ho ho. Now my Dil wants a hat to match the cardi I did so I have my poncho in progress , a jacket to the sleeves, a quilt in progress and now tonight I have to knit this hat ha ha.

makerealbany - 2013-07-10 15:16:00
5486

Didn't get to knit the hat. My grandson was up and down so I gave up. Tonight. Freezing up here but I have all my windows open to air out my cottage. Dehumidifiers are well and good but fresh air is better lol. I have some material to wash for quilts so I am going to do that next. There is a breeze. Another mammograph tomorrow grrr. I hate the things. If they don't do it right you have to go back.

makerealbany - 2013-07-11 11:48:00
5487

Freezing here too, only 8 degrees today. Brrrrr! I agree about the open windows , don't have a dehumidifier and usually have to squeegee the bedroom windows in the morning but then I open windows at that end of the house. I am knitting dolls clothes at the moment for a bit of a change. I'm using Panda Circus which self stripes - a bit of fun really. Great visit to Walnut Farm, I bought Dukkah, a container of walnut halves for baking this weekend and a jar of Walnut, honey and ginger spread for my toast. Lovely stuff. No more women's group for 2 weeks as we have the holiday programme going full time. Not looking forward to being at work by 8.15am!

grizzly4 - 2013-07-12 09:23:00
5488

Brought K home last night. He was picked up at 10 then the other two arrived and visitors with 3 more kids. By 12 they had all left so I ran away to Spotlight. I roamed in there for 2 hours. Lol it was so nice I bought braid which was all on special. Some quilting material that was reduced by 70 percent and some Pellon. I really only went down to get the Pellon for a new knitting bag. So tonight I have to wash the materials for the bag. Thank heavens I can use the old handles. They are just 2 pieces of wood that slip in. Handles cost a fortune. I am over halfway thru my poncho. Now I have a piece of Salmond to cook for tea and then I will sit and knit.

makerealbany - 2013-07-13 16:40:00
5489

I had to go back to Lincraft yesterday morning to match some wool to finish one dolls bootee, would you believe. However that was not all I walked out the door with! LOL. I bought another shade of the panda Circus for more dolls clothes. Played board games with the my grandsons yesterday afternoon. I love that I can tempt them away from their PSP computer games with something as old fashioned as board games!

grizzly4 - 2013-07-14 10:21:00
5490

Yes my grandchildren are the same. Get out a board game and its a novelty. Spent the day finishing sewing up the knitted Cardi. Back was sore so no sewing today. Still knitting my poncho. Fine wool takes forever ha ha. M is home from school now so I have her for a week but her little brother has 4 days holiday programme. She wants to stay with me and make things lol

makerealbany - 2013-07-14 20:01:00
5491

Well I'm up and it's not snowing so that's a reasonable start to the week. I. was convinced programme would be closed after last night's forecast for heavy snow for the Canterbury Plains. Do you think I could convince him Christchurch is on the coast not the Plains.? Not on your life! LOL. Had a lovely dinner at friends Last night and then watched a movie till late. I will be knackered tonight. Really enjoying doing dolls clothes for a change and the sets are in 8ply so fast results. I'm finding some lovely patterns I haven't seen before on TM now my computer has been fixed. We went to the Toyworld sale yesterday and have 2 xmas stocking fillers for each of the boys and main presents for B8 and B5. I have 3 or 4 things put away for DIL as well, that I found over the last couple of months. I'm on a roll! I. wants a tool box so can organise that early too.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-15 07:09:00
5492

Yes it is a good start to the week. Cold here and kids are short tempered because I won't let them outside. Sigh. J had another cold not surprising as others do let him run around outside. Even rugged up he catches colds. My Sil has gone to the dump and when he returns I am escaping ho ho. Was looking at quilting material on here. I only buy something small that catches my eye for my stash. I find I can get fab material at a great discount at Spotlight sales. In fact some of their normal price stuff is dearer on here. For those people who are not close to a material store I guess they don't have much of a choice. Next week everyone here is off on holiday yah!!!!! My mum is supposed to be coming and I will have little K for two days but other than that free time.

makerealbany - 2013-07-15 13:56:00
5493

Don't you find the anticipation of that free time is delicious?! I usually have so many ideas about what I can do with that time I confuse myself and don't get half of them done. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-16 07:15:00
5494

Yes it is simply Devine anticipating free time lol. Two sick kids here today and I happy child. Ah well that's life. Good drying day though. We have to win somewhere ha ha.

makerealbany - 2013-07-16 13:21:00
5495

Oops slept in a bit this morning, stayed up a bit late last night. The Plus 1 channels are great when juggling good programmes which are on the same time.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-17 07:27:00
5496

Just dropped K at his home at the beach now I have some shopping to do. My Sil is home so I am staying away from the front lol. Finished my poncho last night. It is a summery one. Have sleeves to do to finish a jacket and I found another jersey for myself in the stash last night that just needs the sleeves done. Forgot all about that one ha ha. So I am going to finish the UFOS.

makerealbany - 2013-07-18 14:16:00
5497

I have sorted my 8ply out so I can do a few aran jerseys for the shop. Love doing those patterns.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-19 07:23:00
5498

It's been a long week with one thing and another. We had a nice tea out last night but home early for an evening of knitting. I'm glad I sorted that wool 'cos the new pattern arrived and it's another aran one. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2013-07-20 09:33:00
5499

Kids gone away for a holiday so I am still washing and cleaning and it is 2 in the afternoon. Have 2 more loads of washing to do, the floors to mop and the line is full. May have to finish some of what's on the line in the drier. The stuff I haven't washed can go on the line and stay there. Lol. I have to sew up a chunky jersey and my poncho tonight. Might do it as soon as I have finished here. M wants her leg warmers done by the time she comes back in a week ho ho. I am going to get Mum for a week tomorrow so hoping my other daughter will drive me down tomorrow. It is a long trip to Rotorua and then a rest and back to Auckland. I can't stay a night because I have the dog and cats to feed, etc. definitely no rest for me lol

makerealbany - 2013-07-20 14:11:00
5500

My goodness, I hope your family appreciates how much you do! My daughter and her family are away this weekend so I'm feeding her cats Mater and McQueen for a couple of days. A foggy start this morning but at least the sun is shining so I can get to those weeds at the front. I am really feeling for my parents in Blenheim and my sister in Wellington with all the shakes they are getting at present. Once again I'm pleased Mum and Dad are in their retirement villa with lots of people to help if they need it. I wouldn't like to be in my sisters house - two storey on the side of a hill!
