Something different for decorating a pavlova..

I made individual pavlova's for dinner yesterday.. was going to decorate them with whipped cream and boysenberries, then decided to make a change - I'd made Boysenberry Jam on Christmas Eve.. so added 2 large tablespoons of the jam to the contents of a bottle of cream, and whipped them together.. a lovely pink colour, and with boysenberries on top, it was truly delicious.. highly recommended..

Just wondering - if a thread is bookmarked, will it remain even after the original is dropped off the TM board? Anyone know? Thanks :)

Bumping's fine, but why not bookmark it (save it to favourites) and then you can just pull it down from your list whenever you want to peek at it.

Ellie, if we don't bump these threads every now and then, once the year is up, they're gone., which is a shame :)

On another website I saw an excellent idea for party food - using disposable shot glasses, put some dip in each and then a selection of sliced veges eg cucumber, carrot, red pepper. That would also save the double dipping dilema.

A question to those who know more than I do!!... I'm catering a wedding and as four guests are gluten free (Coeliac's) and a vegetarian guest I wanted to have a small separate table of foods available for these guests so that there is no cross contamination from spoons, etc and besides I want to make small quantities of g/f food as its too expensive to cater g/f for everyone especially if they dont require it. But my lovely helpful sisters say I cant do that!! (My daughter, grandson & I are some of the g/f guests and I certainly dont want to see my lunch return two hours later LOL !!!) Any thoughts on the matter???? cheers, Glenys

You could organize for the g/f and vegetarian guests to be served as there is only a few of you. ensure the helpers know what's going on and maybe put a different colored ribbon on the relevant chairs or something,
(plus a bump)

More an idea than a recipe: for wedding favours, make your favourite truffle/rumball/cakeball etc, a little smaller than usual, and dip a third in dark choc, a third in milk choc and a third in white choc. Put one of each colour in long thin cellophane bags and tie with a ribbon to match the wedding colours/theme. Looks very stylish and many truffles etc can be made ahead and frozen, and dipped closer to the day. Can also dip them in nuts or sprinkle one with silver balls/coloured hearts etc.

Sorry forgot to say - that idea is better for smaller weddings as you have to do 'the guest list times three' amount of truffles :-)

How about bite size patties.....mince, blue cod, corn, chicken etc with sauces, can be eaten hot or cold.
