Morning morning lovely ladies & gentlemen.

A little bit cranky in this house, finished antibiotics and had 2 good days then on Thursday my throat started to hurt again and now it's just plain sore! I am so over being sick!!
Cycling has been cancelled this morning due to grotty weather, so after having caught up on here I have a herald with my name on it and another coffee.

Miss 16's production was amazing last night, they did singing in the rain complete with indoor rain... very very cool...I could watch it all again tonight! Then we all went out for dessert afterwards.... This is how sick I was... I ordered a fruit smoothie only to be told the smoothie blender was broken... and I felt so unwell... I had a coffee, now anyone that knows me ...to turn down a dessert.... serious stuff!.

Miss 16's last game of Netball today so I will rug up and dose up and go to that... otherwise a quiet day.

Still typing on the laptop.. he brought the computer back saying it was working.. hooked it up and grrrr not working so took it away again.

So thats me in a nutshell ... have a great day all JB

My world is fantastic! :)

I went mattress shopping yesterday as LL is providing a bed for me (well - new base but the mattress was another story :-/) ...
set out thinking "I want a good mattress at budget price" ...
went into Harvey Mental & was totally ignored for 10mins - so I left! Drove down to Smiths City & the difference was amazing ... friendly greetings, smiles & a saleman who conjured up an amazing deal for me ... a 'last in stock' mattress with a price tag of $1500 reduced to $750 for me!
The secret is amazing!!!
LL was also providing a small 2 seater sofa for me ... although I actually need a sofa bed for when daughter comes down ... txt LL to tell him of my success with the mattress & he txt me back "what's a futon sofa? I was thinking of buying you a new one instead of moving the other sofa down & up 2 flights of stairs"
.... WOW, WOW, WOW!!! ....

Off to move some gear over there now then hooking up with Mr Delish later .... ;-D

Hi Pam - I use homoeopathic remedies too.. & definitely recommend them..

The sun is trying to shine here - with showers in between - everything is growing in my garden with all this unseasonally warm weather - peas and broadbeans flowering and pods beginning to form, lots of fabulous super-large lemons on my biggest tree - first crop next year for the other lemon and my lemonade tree.

I have a blackboy peach tree to plant, plus Braeburn and Cox's Orange apple trees, a dual fruiting raspberry and a blackcurrant - by the time they're planted, I'll have 36 different varieties of fruit trees, berries and vines growing here, plus 16 perennial herbs, with summer varieties, and vegetables, growing in jiffy pots spread across one end of my dining table... and currently have 17 vegetable varieties growing.. There'll be the first small harvests for some of the fruit trees this year - can't wait!! They include Golden Queen and Golden Haze peaches - the latter similar to GQ though fruits in December - fresh peaches for Christmas.. yum!

Have a friend arriving shortly to stay the weekend - bringing South African bean soup that she's been given to try - I'm making bread, and as Jenni is home, she's made a slice she's created with a shortcake base, chopped chunky pieces of Braeburn apple, with skins still on, spread over that, then a apple-crumble type of mix, that she's included rolled oats, oat bran and coconut in, sprinkled over that.

I can tell you it tastes very good, so tonight that will be warmed and served with whipped cream for dessert.. fire going, yummy shared meal and good company.. :-)

Well i am feeling a little better, after having 3... yes 3 naps today. Miss 16's game was so exciting and the won 26 to 24. They played fantastiscally and while the other team (good catholic school) played in my opinion quite "dirtily" our girls beat them with good skills and great sportsmanship,was very proud of them.

Thanks for the tips re the cold... I am usually a very healthy speciman, I don't think its my carb consumption thats the issue ... just very bad luck this year! In fact I think the fact that I am quite fit and eat a well balanced diet means it holds me up rather than stops me. I am just too plain busy to be sick.. and over it slowing me down!!

Hope your renovations went well Charlie as did your move Winnie... And how lucky to have you house gleaming cooks... mine has definatly suffered over the last few weeks, its tidy but not very clean if you look to hard. Shame about the neighbours though Pam, neighbour issues are not nice... we have a plonker at the top of the driveway.. luckily we live down an 80m driveway and I don't see him.

Well thats me for now... off for some soothing ice cream, my lovely hubby has been really taking care of me... cooked me a lovely dinner... I am lucky to have my very own "Mr Delish"

I know... elbows, slapping the balls out of hands, F words under their breath when they can't get around our defenders.. luckily the ref kept picking them up on it. What really irks me is the parents, who shout out "Way to go" when they do something nasty that they shouldn't. We had one girl that kept taking out our players last season, so they put My Miss then 15 as her partner, she was about 10 inches taller than her, and more importantly not scared of her and kept her in her place lol.

Well its a funny old day and I am feeling much better... Still going to take it easy though.. the plan is to have a shower, get out of my PJ's and then there is a couch with DVD's waiting for me... going to shake this... and tomorrow I WILL BE FINE!

Well it sounds like a weekend of ups & downs all round.
I hope the sickies are feeling better & you all found a silver lining to any cloud on your horizon today!

As for me ...
I'm walking - no - dancing on cloud nine ...

but reading taffsgirl's post makes me all the more determined to make the most of every day & to "suck out all the marrow of life ..."

I am so blessed right now & don't want to waste a moment or take anything for granted.

I had a good day Sat cleaning carpet at the apartment & moving things in. Those teeny tiny stairs are not easy for carrying up boxes though!!!
Hooked up with Mr D & some friends of his for a beer at The Dux de Lux then back to his for F&C in front of the fire.
F&C tastes so good when you've been working hard!
Today I was treated to a Cantab boys personal tour ... Sumner to Birdlings Flat & everywhere in between ... with a brunch stop in Lyttleton along the way.
Having the sun shine properly for a change was a welcome bonus to a great day out!

Not alot to report from me other than I'm absolutely b.ggered!!!
I did trip after trip up my teeny tiny stairs carrying boxes and I'm happy to say that I'm nearly in!
Got to be down there early in the morning for the delivery of my mattress & tomorrow night I get to sleep in my new home :)
Out with Mr D tomorrow evening to the opening of an art exhibition by the daughter of a friend of his. Looking forward to it but wishing I wasn't quite so tired! Off for a soak soon then early night for me.

Morning Morning lovely people.... We are still relying on a laptop so what with 2 teenagers doing assignments my internet access has been limited.
Had a wonderful sleep last night... no coughing... and really feel much better today.
Had an extraordinairily busy day yesterday at work but its amazing the pacing strategies being a mother gives you.
I have my own office and I just went at a slow steady speed & only focused on the next task... and before you knew it I was up to date.
I am blessed that when I have alot on (and coughing) my boss just leaves me to it and more importantly doesn't add to it.

So in the the words of a song (well nearly)

"Todays going to be a good day"

Helloooo!

A busy, busy girl here. I've never moved into such a small place with so little furniture ...
I'm trying to unpack but there's nowhere to put things!
I have half a kitchen as the builder is off for a month after a hip replacement last week ... what don't I unpack???
Boxes, boxes, boxes ... the novelty is wearing off!!!

On the bright side - had a lovely evening with Mr Delish last night :-)
The art exhibition was very good - wish I had the odd few hundred $$ spare in my back pocket ... could have happily bought a piece or 2!
Dinner courtesy of Hell's Pizza afterwards ... if I can get enough kitchenware unpacked I might actually shout the man to a home-cooked meal soon.
Apart from the delivery of chicken soup when he was sick ... he may as well be dating someone who can't cook!
Time to rectify things!!! :-)

How's everyone else?
Hopefully the promise of spring is bringing relief to those with colds & sniffles!

A lovely start to the day after a surprise visit last night!
What's a girl to do when she's tucked up in bed in her fav comfy pj's with a Sarah Kate Lynch novel and her Mr D knocks at the door!!!
I won't say what I did ...
Carrie & the girls ... eat your hearts out! ;-)

Today it's on with the unpacking ... and doing some work towards finding a job.
I'm going write a generic cover letter outlining what I want, send it to everyone imaginable within the tourism industry in Chch .... and see who bites :-)
I know the right employer is out there, who will structure my work hours around my course, pay me well & train me in their own management programme.
And they'll have corporate tickets for the rugby world cup!!!
