Hi Yduj, your quilts are so lovely, i just use a laundry marker for writing on the label.

Franny it does need a maroon, awww gee now your going to have to go to the fabric shop haha or maybe just try a plain green ? if its in your stash but mmmm the maroon would be best oh im rambling on ...........

OMG Twilight you have heaps. I have only made about4 or 5 other quilts in my life and I aim to use all the fabric up at the time or else I become obsessed . . . . . oh, that's right - that's what quilters are . . .obsessed.

Here's my all time proudest effort. Made it about three years ago and has wool batting inside so it becomes our one and only cover on our bed in the summer. It's called 'Moon over the Mountain' and I googled it to get a pattern. I first saw a quilt like this on a bed in a furniture shop in London in the 70's and always loved it. Now I have my own version.

Hi yes you can call me dilli for short most people do or ust Jen either one. dilligaf is one of kevin wilsn songs it means. Does It Look Like I give a F..... wish I had a different name name as it is not the best for fundraising which is what we are doing now.
Yeah I am not sure how I mangaed to last the 8 weeks but we do somehow eh. Nice to be getting back to normal now though. Hot here and sticky.

Thanks for your comment Coalie, yes I think I do need a darkish red or maroon, I do have some other greens but I think I need the red to give it a lift.
My goodness Twi you almost have enough fabric to start a quilt shop, I don't have nearly as much in fabric my little stash looks quite bleak in comparison but anyway here it is:

Anybody else hot, have just taken the dog for a walk, walk no longer than usual but was so humid I really didn't think I was going to make it home. Even the dog was puffing like a train and she has collapsed by my feet.

Thanks Coalie, good that Dilli is back after her absence. Still very humid here, electric fan going full bore. Have spent the afternoon at the cutting board, takes longer to cut the pieces for the quilt than it does to sew them and made a few bloomers as husband watching the winter olympics and I kept getting interested and cut the sizes wrong. Tricky too as all the blocks are different measurements. Gave it away in the end, too hot anyway.

hey all, sorry haven't been posting much lately. Didn't get hubby's cross-stitch done in time for valentines, however i showed him the work in progress and was lavished with praise! I got pancakes in bed for breakfast, and a sleep in!! Have also made an agreement that valentines gifts/gestures are fine as long as they are hand made! no wasting money on flowers. Have got our first batch of plum jam made, 3 to go. Got a mattress for the bassinet so will hopefully be making some sheets for it in the next 2 weeks, as i refuse to pay $30 a set for less than a metre of fabric!! We have plenty of single sheets i can convert, which leave me money for some nice fabric for the cot/bassinet quilt i'm planing!!

Nice to hear from you again Liz, brekkie in bed is nicer than flowers, I think so anyway. Great idea to cut down your sheets, I do that too and make single bed sheets and pillowcases.
Off to bed, babysitting youngest granddaughter tomorrow not very well so not going to school and Tuesday my day out so have a lovely couple of days.

Aw Coalie sorry you have been feeling lonely today. Grandaughter not too good, absolutely full of the cold, spent the day in bed and didn't even complain about being in bed. We played some games with her and she drank gallons of water and by the time we left to come home I think she was a lot better. Won't be around tomorrow Quilting in the morning and Mah Jong in the arvo. I am sure you know us Aussies always say arvo for afternoon.
