Is there a catalouge for postmark's and if so, how do you source one? Even just reliable lists of current and past post offices?

Yep there is a softcover one published by Richard Wooders & another earlier one published alot earlier -- both are ocassionally seen listed on here -- set up a search alert .. for individual postmarks -- sometimes you may be able to pick up more details or a recent sale via google

Hi Stamp Club I have a Red DOMINION of NZ one penny Post marked Any value ?

Issued in 1909 - Jury 2013 Cat Value is 0.50 fine used - if there is a clear identifiable postmark - usually circular from some of the scarcer Offices - there mite be increased value to collectors of marks

The same design without dominion was issued as 1d Universal 1 Jan 1901 and redrawn with diagonal lines on globe in 1907

Anyone wanting to know results from the Melbourne Stamp exhibition should look at the Australian philatelic federation website as the results are now there on line to see. The official exhibition web site however hasn't been updated yet.

Thanks Paul. you are absolutely right. Its always a good place and probably the best attended stamp club meeting in New Zealand. There is usually a good sales table and always a free supper.

Yes, we run a monthly raffle which covers the cost of the Tea and Biscuits. Shirley does a great job of having three different prizes so me of which are edible and some of which are collectable and sometimes some of which are drinkable. Ist ticket out gets the choice of three prizes etc. All great fun!

our supper is much better, sometimes we have cream sponge, chocky bickies and scones with strawberry jam and cream on.

That sounds like our December Xmas month meeting. In January it even gets better with a wine and cheese spread.

I also forgot to mention that we also have a cold fruit drink option at all meetings so what more could one want for at a meeting. we had about 40 people at last nights meeting so not a bad turn out.

Oh dear!!!
I have reported this one to Trademe it will be interesting to see if Trademe is going to do anything about it.Concerns have been raised and no guarantee or a refund offered if not genuine ,lots of play on words.Ignorance has been used as an excuse and that is seen by some as acceptable.
I have copied my report to Trademe and I might post it on here in the near future.

Not worth the $5 starting bid. I usually sell these for around 50 cents each

donaldo wrote:

the problems i can see is that the seller is not being told what is wrong with the stamp and it is most likely this stamp was originally bought from a stamp dealer !!!!!!!!

I'm pleased to see the lot was withdrawn as so much doubt exists over the genuineness of the overprint. I have seen the halfpenny stamp without an overprint postmarked with the expedition postmark so it is possible that while the postmark is genuine, the overprint may have been added later.

What do all the revenue collectors think of the new Kiwi revenue catalogue? Lots of extra detail added and a new section of Record Royalty tax stamps has also been added. I notice there are some substantial price increases.

I think it's great. I like the expanded information, and the added sections for new items. Better to be inclusive than exclusive, at the fringes. At the least information gets distributed, but as always collectors can choose to collect or not collect as they see fit.
Now when is the updated Cinderella Catalogue coming out??

I keep asking that too and don't get any expected date. it is badly needed. its not as if they have copies of the old catalogue on hand. i have seen copies sell for silly prices to desperate collectors.

Hello all. My first post, although I have watched for some time and enjoyed the conversations! I would like to ask about insurance options, since the normal household insurance would not provide sufficient cover for most collections. Any thoughts, please?
