I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

6 squares on their way to you popeye - sent them at lunchtime.

Thanks popeye for fixing the link. Must get motivated to make more squares, went to knit world sale today and picked up some burgundy wool for a tunic, so have been working on that all evening and just unraveled it for the third time as the stitches and pattern don't add up from row to row. Not going for a fourth time am going to delete pattern so I'm not tempted again. Power has been flickering on and off, hope its still on in the morning as its not much fun trying to cook breakfast for 8 on a camp stove

Morning all. Wet and windy out there... Not cold tho. But I will wear my new jacket cos it might be chilly out there.
Have to go to med centre, depo and my Inr. Was meant to go Tuesday oops, felt like being naughty and being late lol

I got an order for two Playfull Puppy toys from Jean Greenhowe last night. So that was good timing as I didn't know what I was going to do next.

Raej a BBQ would be better than a camp cooker.

Thanks Kuaka, look forward to getting more of your pretty squares.

That little Missy is a hard case. She dived down under the blankets last night and when she came out she decided she had to do it, via my nightie. She got in at the foot end and came out the neck lol... couldn't stop laughing for ages. Thank goodness I trimmed her claws a couple of days ago tho lol

Have a good day all

morning ladies :) It is raining here and hasn't stopped pretty much for two days now. There is flooding down the road so will be fun going to work this morning. We had thunder and lightening this morning too but at least our power is on, not like yesterday. My little camp cooker is pretty quick at heating water and cooking so we were OK. Took my toothbrush etc to my sisters lol.

I sewed Baxters head and body last night and stuffed them. He has eyes and a nose now too and his ears are pinned on. His face is starting to take on personality now :). If I have time (sister is coming for tea) I'll stitch him together a bit more tonight. Am pretty tired though when I get home.

My tax refund came through last night... I do believe knitworld has a sale on this week....

happy knitting :)

and I had an email from Deramore's too, up to 20% off double knitting yarn - hmmm, wonder if I can justify spending any more money on yarn, and if I do, where I will put it. The camphor chest I bought a while ago and which was crammed to overflowing with wool, does have "some" room in it, and it seems a shame for there to be gaps in there, the wool will get lonely won't it?

It was sunny when I first got up but I see there's fog rolling in. It's colder this morning too. Never mind, it is only a few days away from the shortest day.

Mr K now has an appt for a CT scan and see the surgeon on 2nd July. That will be just over 5 months since he had his accident, so fingers crossed his neck has finally healed, 'cos I don't think it will if it hasn't by now. And if it hasn't I'm not sure where that leaves us "risk-wise".

Right, I am going to sit and do some knitting while I have a cuppa and then decide how to spend the day, think clean bedding is on the cards, and that means washing, and I've already got one lot on the line and another to go out. Need to do some more sewing too.

Happy knitting everyone.

it's still raining! A lovely(ish) day in Cambridge and Hamilton but pi***** down here... the farm down the road has water past the fence posts!

I went to the Knitworld sale this afternoon and bought some lovely cerise/pink pure wool for $2.90 a ball to knit our wee grandy a cardigan and spoilt myself by buying some baby alpaca 2ply for my scarf. From $50 down to $14 so much happier at that price. It's a gorgeous soft plum colour. Can't wait to knit it!

happy knitting :)

Wow I feel like we live on another planet. we have had no rain today. And certainly no wild winds etc. 35mins away at the top of the Manukau heads it was pretty rough apparently, but nothing here worse than a normal weeks weather.
Wow that alpaca was a good buy Kiwimade. Cant wait to see it done.
Ive been knitting flat out and only have the hat ans scarf to do on the first puppy toy. I love red white and green for knitting.
We have a heard of Ants heading to the pub on the kitchen windowsill lol I have bait out so they are partying hard and taking it home with them for the Bros lo... that should take care of that in a day or so lol.

Have just done some smoked fish in white sauce for MrP for his dinner. the large tins was only 20 cents more than the small. so Ill freeze some and make a pie for him at a later stage.

Hi all
The blanket looks great Popeye, Wow they seem great bargains Kiwimade.

Just back from a fun day at the field day, got there nice and early and not crowds everywhere. There were a few showers but we managed to be inside during these so didn't get wet and not too much mud around. Some interesting displays and lots of free samples.

Now putting feet up and going to do a bit of knitting to relax

Hope everyone is drying out again and power restored everywhere

The fog didn't last and it's been a glorious day here, not a breath of wind, hardly a cloud in the sky, the sun was hot (22 deg downtown) and the sea like glass, albeit dirty brown glass!

That sounds like a bargain buy on the alpaca and the smoked fish. I am still undecided whether to even look at the Deramore's website. It's very tempting but my "woolpower" seems to have fizzled out and I know if I look I will buy - but hey there's worse things I could spend money on.

Enjoy your evening.

I remember going to a field days years ago with MrP and an old friend of ours. It was freezing cold and foggy. Ive never been soo cold.
Loved it tho and our friend (a Dutchman) couldn't get over how they practically had to drag me away from the wood cutting. I loved it.
His Wife went to a Ladies day in Taupo. I still reckon we had the best time even tho it was freezing.

Your right there Kuaka. Re buying wool.

Ive decided to use a white with a pearly sort of thread through it for my next jacket. I have a couple of balls here. so when Ive whacked the CC down some Ill get some more from Deramores.

We have just had a short shower of rain and theres a little wind but nothing like everyone is getting

Good evening. I have managed about 20 rows of my Hoodie/wrapIt still might end up being hoodie/cape..

I've been to a fair few Feildays over the years because of my job and of cause where I live but couldn't be bothered now. I have a freind with an upmarket Homestay up Mt Maungatautiri and they currently have guests that are helicoptering in and out. Wednesday morning they woke up to no power but they do have a very flash BBQso was able to do breakfasts.

I see that we are getting close to 5000 posts.

4964

morning :) oh wow GMS, so the power cut went all the way out to Maugatautari too... we had no power out here at Hinuera but Matamata and Cambridge had power. I think it may have just affected us country folk. mmmmm helicopting in, now that's the way to travel lol.

Can't wait to see your hoodie/cape when you have finished.

No knitting last evening and I couldn't sew Baxter as our son-in-law stayed the night so he can go to the Field days and Baxter is a birthday pressie for our grandy.

Back to work for me today, then housework when I get home. Hopefully I can get some crafting done at some stage!

Happy knitting :)

Have never been to field days, one day before we move down south will get there. Is it the baby hooded wrap that was on FB grandmasue? That one was very cute.
Not much on today, have another tunic pattern to try, (plus the cooking and cleaning)

Morning everyone.
Lovely day here, Might even manage a load of washing.

I liked that hooded wrap too Raej.. a really cool Idea.

I can imagine what its like with only one car Carole. means you do as much running about as MrT.

Cant wait to see Baxter Kiwimade.

Ive knitted all but two bobbles for the Boy Puppy. So they are going well. Will get them done and start the girl. Id do all the knitting then sew them up together. Only one lot of aching fingers from doing the stuffing that way.

Thank goodness for sky tv.. I cannot stand soccer/football.

I been watching the numbers too GMS.. Anf after nearly 500 posts we are all still working well on the needles and hooks

Have an awesome day everyone

I went to the Feildays once years ago - and it was a long time ago because it was while I was working in Hamilton at an engineering place long since closed down, I worked there from 1973 to 1978 so going back a bit. I believe it is huge compared to what it was then.

Windy here this morning but the sun is trying to break through. At least my washing should dry 'cos it didn't yesterday despite the temperature.

My sister phoned last night and said they had forecast a lovely day and it was 17 deg. I laughed. I said you're in summer and we're in winter and it was 22 deg here today.

Must get on with my blanket, I don't seem to be making much progress. I have some other yarn I might start to do a Bavarian stitch blanket as well, I like to have several things on the go so that I can pick them up or leave them depending on what I feel like doing.

Have a great day everyone.

morning
Sitting in a lovely warm corner with the sun on my back, cup of coffee and knitting - feeling quite decadent and lucky.

Am knitting a little hotshot vestee - in other words a sleevless vest but oh the problem i had reading the pattern last evening and had to undo several rows which is frustrating. It is in a e-book with several patterns and variations on the patterns so have lots of coloured writing, boxes and jumping from page to page have finally worked it out and it really is quite straight forward, think i was a bit too tired to start something new last evening.

Hope to go for a good long walk later when my sister gets back, in the meantime I will relax although have been instructed to check the chickens for eggs and chase the broody one off the nest, hope she doesn't take offense to me doing this too much lol.

Enjoy the sunshine if you are getting it and happy knitting/crochet

morning ladies! Traffic is building up, heading for the Field Days no doubt.

I have a fenceline to finish weeding and lawn to mow - the lawn will be a challenge after all this rain! Then to plan a mini lesson for my interview on Monday. Should get some knitting done later on.

I want to finish Baxter this weekend, get more cross stitch done and start a cardy for our wee grandy for next winter at some stage. If I do get this job, then I won't have much time for crafting or the garden as I'm shattered by the end of the day so want to get as much done as I can.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone.. Well its nearly lunchtime lol..

Got waylaid cos of the phone this morning. My ex-cleaners house was burnt down yesterday. Mice in the hot water cupboard. So there's been many calls and stuff to organise. They have lost everything other than a few tools in the garage. And have a teenager a 3 yr old and a brand new baby. but help is coming in from all over so that's good.

Am working hard on the Playfull Puppies. Have 6 pieces to do and they are both knitted.

Awesome day here. chilly tho.

Have a good day

popeye333 - 2014-06-14 09:46:00
4973

morning all, I couldn't sleep last night and was so tired, decided at 3am to take half a sleeping pill, and have only just got up - half a pill is supposed to give me 5 hours sleep, but I ended up with more than that.

I did some sewing yesterday afternoon and managed to stub my sore toe twice, drop a Dilmah tin full of reels of thread onto it, found a teddy cut out and ready to sew which was for my grand-daughter's birth and she is now 9, some fabric I have been searching for for ages as it was missing in action, and did the sewing I wanted to do. I still have much much more to do but I'm making a start.

Mr K was cold yesterday so we had the heat pump going until I lit the fire around 1pm, that quickly warmed us up. I think he must have been really feeling the cold though as I had no heating in the sewing room and I wasn't cold at all (maybe it was all the swearing making me hot)

Started a Bavarian stitch blanket last night, so now I have two blankets on the go, one knitted 10 stitch zig zag and one crocheted. I can pick either of them up and do bits as I feel like it. The crocheted one is in navy 80% mohair, 20% merino, and camel 100% merino, so it should be nice and warm when it's done.

Have to go for a walk this morning and check the mail as we didn't go yesterday.

Happy knitting everyone.

PS. I also found heaps of knitting wool that I had forgotten about, and a heap of crochet threads which I bought ages ago to do a tablecloth or bedspread! I decided not to order more wool from Deramores at this stage.

what awesome finds kuaka, like Christmas!

omg popeye, your poor cleaner. I knew I hated mice for a reason!

Jut come in as MrK had made a cuppa. I reckon about another hour of weeding and it will be done. Trimming edges as I go and pruning back some perennials I missed the other day. Looking good so far. Will mow the lawn when I have finished and hopefully it will have dried a bit (doubt it somehow). So all going to plan I should be knitting later this afternoon :P.

Right-o, will finish this cuppa and get back too it.

happy knitting :)

Wow it would be like Christmas, finding all that stuff Kuaka. Ouchies for your toe.
Yup Kiwimade re the Mice. That's the second person I know who has had mice chew the wires at the hot water cylinder.
Have left my washing, Ill do it tomorrow. have the skirt started just, the hat to do and I found there's a waistband to do to. Then the puppy's are knitted.

Watched a show on death row this morning.. That sort of stuff fascinates me.
Fire brigade went down the road 20 mins ago, the ambulance has just gone down there. So its medical. Not fire.

Missy is sunning herself in her play pen. so Bob can have a wee bit of peace. She's funny, just like a kid that goes silly when they are over tired. Runs all over everything at full speed.

popeye333 - 2014-06-14 12:33:00
4976

that's enough outdoorsy stuff for me lol. Have about another hours weeding to do and probably an hour of spraying but MrK said he would spray the paths etc for me. The wheelie bin and compost bins are full so I will have to wait until Tuesday after work to finish the weeding. Lawns are mowed and edges trimmed so all good there. Lesson plan for interview almost done - I have it in my head and printing/laminating done. Now to let it 'cook' in my mind for a bit and for me to think of any scenarios that could happen and how I would react.

Time for some craftwork I think! Been a productive morning :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm and staying snug :)

You have had a busy day Kiwimade.

I had a call from an old school friend around lunchtime. she is going to come visit tomorrow, 9Am lol her name is playing rugby here tomorrow. will be good to catch up. So a wee bit of a quick clean up. Wasn't bad but I just needed to do toilet and bathroom. I could easily dust everyday and it would still be covered. I think its cos theres a long narrow path out the back and the high fences, just seems to stir up dust when windy.

Have done some savoury mince for MrPs tea, he hasn't had mince for months and I missed cooking it lol.

Am about half way on the skirt, so should get that done and probably the hat, I haven't looked at the pattern but its a beanie so will probably only be 15 rows max.

Hi all, long day for me today 7am till 3.30 shift. Got home to find him indoors had a lovely surprise for me, my 7 month old Burmese had shredded 3 rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom. Honestly, you can't trust a man to do anything, all he had to do was mind the cat lol! Looking forward to feet up and will knit or crochet some more. I must get some brighter wool but its been good to use up the wee stash of boring stuff.

well hello all. I am new to this thread, but I am also new to craft thingy and addicted. I crochet, and knit, but prefer crochet as it grows faster. I am thinking about getting into knitting some toys as well. I love doing crochet blankets as I will be giving them to st vinnies as will be doing so when I do some toys. Where do do you stock up on wool, like do you just buy a bit of wool here and there to stock up? Or do you buy a whole lot in bulk? I am new to getting alot of wool or a stash pile as I see it is called. I get the acrylic from the $2 shops but it is not as good as wool. I look online at auctions but am unsure if it is cheap or a rip off or about right.
I can knit but am a slow knitter so tend to only do toys and not garments. Also about to look on deramores.

healthynz67 - 2014-06-15 07:42:00
4981

Morning everyone. welcome Twinklestar... Spotlight is good for yarns. Their marvel as it used to be called is now Four seasons I think is good for toys etc. As is thorouhghbred, which is firmer for the toys. (I knit a lot of Toys). Otherwise www.deramores.com is an English company. Go to the site, to[ left hand corner change the currency to NZ and you will see the prices in our money.
If you spend $100 you don't pay any postage.. and it arrives from England in 7-10 days usually. Sign up for the emails. James C Brett is my fave for lovely soft acrylics, and from memory is about $3-80ish for 100grms.
I take no responsibility to Damaged credit cards lol.

I have a visitor coming this morning around 9am. hence my early post lol.

Have fun buying a car Carole.

Have only got to finish the beanie and do the bobble and the Puppies are knitted. So a couple of days and they will be ready to send off.

By then I should have the box of squares arrive, so I can get into the second charity blanket. Im going to highlight Kuakas squares and make a feature out of them. Cos they are lovely.

Have a good day all

popeye333 - 2014-06-15 08:18:00
4982

Awww, thank you popeye! That's the pattern I'm using to do the crochet blanket I'm working on. Like you twinklestar I prefer to crochet rather than knit as it not only grows faster, but if you do happen to make a mistake, it's usually easy to fix, just unravel and pick up just one loop. Nothing worse than finding a mistake ten rows down when you've got 120 stitches on, then you have to decide, do you laboriously unpick stitch by stitch or pull all the stitches off, unravel and then pick all the stitches up again.

Welcome to the thread Twinklestar! I have bought twice from deramores, and find them pretty good value and a pretty good service. I find our op shop occasionally has wool cheap but the one in the next town over charges more than retail for wool - and seems to get away with it. You can also check out SKEINZ - they are based in Napier and send freight free if you spend over $50, they have some lovely wools, and The Wool Company (www.thewoolcompany.co.nz) sell lovely merino and other wools but they charge a flat rate of $7 freight, package usually arrives next day. The last two I have mentioned only do wool not acrylic.

Freezing cold here this morning, I've cranked the heat pump up. It's lovely and sunny so if only we had a sunny house we would be lovely and warm.

Happy knitting everyone.

morning ladies :) Welcome twinklestar, nice to 'see' a new face on the thread :). Yep, I second all of the above advice about buying wool/yarn. I've bought from Deramores too and they are very quick considering it comes from the UK. Husband had ordered some bits and pieces online from an Auckland company the day I ordered my Deramores and mine arrived first! We're a friendly bunch so feel free to ask questions and pick the collective brain power of the thread users!

Been busy this morning doing housework, feel out of sorts as it is usually done on Friday. All this work lol. Only have our bed to remake, a load of washing to hang out and vacuum. I've finished my mini lesson plan for tomorrow's interview (getting pretty nervous now.... breatheeeee!!!!) so once I've finished those few things I'll knit... or maybe crochet... or maybe stitch... oh who knows!!! lol.

ooohhh a new car.... exciting carole!

happy knitting :)

Starting to freeze here too. There will definitely be a frost in the morning.
I am still plodding away on my baby hooded wrap.

I hope that you enjoy your new car carolev but I guess it will be T's new work car?
Mind you if he has brought a new Lamborghini, I expect you will let him use yours for work.
I had 9 extra's for afternoon tea today and almost ran out of cups. Luckily I had made a huge fruitcake the other day and had some brought biscuits for the younger ones who do not really like fruit cake.

Welcome Twinklestar, I prefer knitting as I can read and knit but have to concentrate on crochet, but do find crochet quicker and easier to take with me if want to fill in time such as waiting for an appointment.

All the best for tomorrow Kiwimade sounds like you are well prepared so try to relax and sleep well tonight (appreciate easier said than done :) )

Yum fruit cake GMS, it is the only cake that I really enjoy making and make quite a few at Christmas for various family members.
The sun out all afternoon but not very warm, think it will be really cold again tonight. Knitting up some dyed wool and it is always a surprise how it will turn out. Have had a request for more slippers so will start them tomorrow and hope the weather holds so I can get them felted and dried in a reasonable time.

I tend to only make fruit cakes at Christmas too. If I bake we eat it and we don't really need it lol.. Although Ive been wanting a cake of some sort for about a week now.

We will all be crossing our fingers for you tomorrow Kiwimade.

Ive got one puppy stuffed. Just have to do arms and then put all the little bits on and hes done.

Had a good catch up with my friend and her man this morning. we have known each other hmm about 41 years, I know we met before dad died but cant remember how long before that. But its only been a couple of years since we saw each other.
It was fun tripping down memory lane.

Well back to my sewing needle. Not much on tv tonight so I wont get too much done.

Stay warm everyone

Thanks so much ladies, I have been on to the deramores website, it looks so cool. At first I thought gee thats dear compared to the acrylic you can get from the $2 shops, but you get a variety of colours that they dont have and the also wool, not acrylic. Also a lady from work had given me some wool that had been spun she did not want and some of the wool is bundled up the same way, I think you call them hanks or shanks, one of the words....sorry new to this type of language......lol.
I also emailed my friend the websites as she loves knitting and is always at spotlight....infact she loves knitting so much she is knitting me a cardi, just cos she can. Neat friend as I am not short, but not a giant as well ;)
I love the variety of colours you can get on that website. I will have a look at skeins as well, the 1 in Napier. Oh my gosh, what expensive addictions I get......lol. I have lost alot of kgs and, need new clothes, but not quite at the size I need to be for bmi, about another 6kgs. Also I love gardening, another at times not cheap addiction.
Next year I will save up and get a sewing machine, probably go to spotlight for 1. I like to shop at specialist shops, eg rose at a rose nursery, shoes at a shoe shop etc. I used to love sewing when I was younger and have memories of going into some fabric shops, eg pollick and milne in Hamilton and some little fabric shop in frankton in hamilton. I loved going through the fabrics etc. Sometimes it looked stink on the roll but great when it was made up into a garment.

Well done on the weight loss twinklestar, Knitworld have a sale on at the moment and some of the pure wools are heavily discounted. Lol stashes start out small, picking a ball up here or there, but soon grow into gigantic monsters that need feeding every week and never have what you want to start a project

morning :) Am about to head off soon for my interview... thanks for the warm wishes. Am quite nervous, just hope I don't stuff up my lesson plan lol.

I remember those fabric shops twinklestar, used to love going in there in my lunch breaks. I garden as well and have set myself a challenge of having a garden where all the plants are under $10.00. it can be done! The Warehouse often have some sad plants being sold for 50cents or $1 but they can be planted and come away again the following season. You just have to be patient.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all, my Tax return has appeared in my account. Yay I can buy some more bright wool as I've nearly finished my old leftovers. My job for the day is taking resident from work to eye appointment...110km round trrip. I hope its one of her better days or I'm in for a long journey lol! I might sneak in my knitting for the waiting room.

Twinklestar - well done on the weight loss, I need to lose about 4 kg to have a satisfactory bmi (or grow a few inches taller!) A word of advice about sewing machines, please don't buy one from Spotlight or Harvey Norman, go to a specialist sewing shop and get some specialist advice (but don't be talked into spending more than you want to) and at least if the machine goes wrong you will be able to get some good advice or get it fixed, Spotlight sell them, they don't want to know about servicing them. Or better still buy an older model Elna or Bernina, something old and solid will get you started and they are virtually indestructible. My Elna came with a 25 year warranty - you're lucky if you get five years these days, more likely only one.

kiwimade - good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. Nobody likes going for interviews but we've all done it, and survived.

Raining this morning, but not cold. Still have the heat pump going. Looking forward to a big power bill - never mind.

My crochet blanket is growing faster than the knitted one - maybe that's 'cos I keep picking it up and working on it. I've got a granny square blanket to mend two squares in, I must try and get it done so it can go back to it's owner. It's a bit tedious 'cos I have to try to mend the squares without removing them from the blanket, the wool on the third round has disintegrated and the fourth and fifth rounds are fine. Tricky.

Morning everyone. A dull day here.

Hope the interview goes well Kiwimade. let us know how you felt about it.

I don't sew as much as I could. Especially now I have a sewing desk etc set up.
My wool Hoard grows too often lol.. wont be using much at the mo. Cos Im going to be putting another blanket together in a day or two. Waiting to see what colours are in the box that hopefully will come today.

I have some lovely variegated that I got from Deramores and spotlight in May that I cant wait to use. And yesterday I got the pattern for the Grace dress so Ill do one for Addy next door.
And I have this 200 grm ball of a purple variegated that I cant wait to use, that I got in a swap.

Ooh Viv, that's bonus money, and should always be spent on non essentials. If I got a tax return it would go on wool too lol

Finishing the boy puppy today and make a good start on the girl I hope.

Have a good day everyone. stay safe on the roads

I'm home, had to turn back and pick up my sister's dog lol, forgot all about her on the way home! The interview went OK, was so nervous, my mouth was dry and was shaking like crazy. The lesson I taught went well so was happy with that.

Some of my tax return was spent in the Knitworld sale :P I like to 'peg' a bit for me when I eventually get it.

Going into town shortly to put the claim in for the car I backed into the other day then home to knit or stitch. Gosh it is cold here today, MrK hasn't got any heating on so I'll get that sorted too. Mind you, he has a casserole on in the crockpot - what a gem of a man I have!

happy knitting :)

Oops re forgetting the furry one. Im sure your mind was on the interview still.
Glad you thought it went ok.. Fingers crossed. And no need to worry about it now. as you cant do anything till you hear back.

Its bitterly cold here too, raw sort of.

I have a grumpy one today. His body just doing his head in. And its much easier to pick a fight than it is to admit he doesn't feel well.

Well Back to the construction of the Girl puppy.

I had to go look for us.
Yes *kuaka* Feildays is huge compared to then. I can remember when it was at Te Kuawhata and then it moved to Ruakura and now Mystery Creek. I drove a 1952 Bedford petrol bus with a crash gearbox to Te Kauwhata...it was my first ever charter. What a long time ago that was. Must have been about the time that you were working in the engineering shop.

I am off to bed so won't comment on other posts. It is raining here and I can here drips onto the kitchen floor.

Oh grandmasue, drips on the kitchen floor doesn't sound good. We had a leaky roof and spent weeks and weeks a couple of summers back fixing it, I lost count of how many nails we put in because the riifer hadn't bothered and how many we replaced because they'd gone rusty.
I only went to the fieldays the once and it was at Mystery Creek then. Miserable day here, hasn't stopped raining all day and more forecast for tomorrow. I'm off to bed, hope I sleep better than last night, last time I looked at the clock it was 5am and I thought I might as well get up, but then I dozed off.

Nite all.

morning ladies :) ohh buggar about the drips GMS, hope you can get that sorted soon. Maybe all that wild wind we had the other day lifted your roof a bit (could be insurance then?)

Am off back to my friend's shop today, then groceries when I have finished work. MrK has added quite a bit to the list lol. I'm using my 'smart' phone now to keep my lists and I don't have to rattle round for a scrap piece of paper. I can see how some people say their 'life' is on their phone!

The Furry and Fluffy Ones are outside 'supervising' the cows being moved to the next paddock. I reckon in their hearts they are big farm dogs!

Will try and get Baxter finished today, he is looking gorgeous. Have his head and tail attached to his body so only legs to go. My sister thinks he's the coolest thing I have ever knitted lol. And my friend loves him so I may have to knit two more.

Happy knitting :)

5000

Morning ladies, started off with a shower but now it is sunny, and not as cold as yesterday. I did some sewing yesterday - shortened the sleeves on yet another bought merino jersey, still probably have a couple to do, tidied the sewing room a bit, put all my sewing threads into Dilmah tins which are marked according to colour groupings, (I had already started this ages ago but never finished it as I still had several boxes of threads sitting in a drawer in the desk). I reckon I must have about 200 reels of threads and not one single navy blue one, so that's on the list next time I'm in Spotlight. And then I ironed and rehung one of the sewing room curtains which I took down and washed probably 3 years ago! Oops - well I've been busy, might try and do the other one this morning before I go out.

And unless someone has beaten me to it, that's no. 5000 for me!

Have a good day everyone.
