Yep rest of the day was ok, thank goodness. And I mean thank goodness as I have left my cell phone on my desk over night. First night since 22 Feb 2011 it hasn't been by the bed!

You were obviously stressed grizzly to leave your cell phone behind. I minded the kids until 2.30 and then went and had a foot spa, a manicure and a pedicure. Lovely. Tomorrow I am using my birthday voucher for a facial. They say it is the closet thing to a face lift. Ha it ought to be. Value 200. I have to sit or lay there for an hour and a half. That will be hard. I cannot believe my daughter . Ah well the wedding is my incentive.

Wow! What a lady of leisure! About time, methinks LOL. I have found some neat wooden things on TM to use in craft activities at work both for the Women's Group and for the kid's programmes. And so reasonably priced. And another supplier I have found is doing wooden names of my grandsons , great for their bedroom walls once painted or polyurethaned.I have kitset wheelbarrows coming for the Women's Group. Exciting eh, Sue?

Facial was bliss ha ha and I got a free 100 treatment to use by the end of the month. I have been buying seeds on TM. Some of them have already popped up which is great. There are some relly good sellers on TM. Well have to go and finish packing be back late Sunday night. Have a great weekend girls.

Yay, I'm on holiday for a week, at long last but feeling guilty that I. can't take time off too as he is just as, if not more, tired than I am. I plan to sew and knit, and read and play in my garden. Speaking of which my radish seeds were up in a week!No sign of anything else yet though.

Had a really great weekend away. The wedding was absolutely fabulous. We all had a ball. The motel is my favourite in Rotorua and we all loved our spa pools and the thermally heated rooms. whoppee. The weather was lousy but we didn't care. Mum sung at the wedding and my daughter taped it so all of the family who could not be there are delighted to see and hear their old Nan. I have not enjoyed a wedding as much as I did this one.

Glad you had good time, makerealbany. I had a nice lunch yesterday with Suzy as she couldn't work with me in the shop.Would probably have withdrawals if we didn't catch up each week. I'm not sure what's happening with the TM trader I have ordered my wheelbarrows from. My previous trade went extremely well but I haven't heard from him this time at all and the auction closed last Thursday. Hopefully he was just away for the weekend, I noticed he listed new items on his site last night so so fingers crossed I hear from him today. It's really frustratiing when this happens.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-16 07:02:00
4962

Yes it is frustrating. Happened to me once and it took 3 weeks for contact. I thought I would have to give my first blue lol. I didn't but someone else did later ha ha karma. I can understand about the withdrawals ha ha. Windy as up here so washing is flying around the line. Already have 1 load dry. Yesterday to add insult to injury as I am still waiting for the lounge lights to be fixed, it was so windy my bedside lamp flew off the cabinet and smashed the fitting. It is a bronze antique lamp base so that was fine. Our Nanny has a friend who can fix it. The kids have to decide on the new light fittings they want in the house before they get the electrician out . Meanwhile !!!!!!!!!!!

Makerealbany, your stories are so visual, I always have a chuckle.
I did the groceries early this morning then went to play in the garden. Blissful. Then I had a bit of a Nana nap after lunch before starting a dolls outfit for the shop. Have just made some Bakewell tarts and planning to make a fish filo roll for tea. Not a bad day off.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-16 16:16:00
4964

My week off is going to fast. There are so many things I wanted to get done it's just whizzing by. A bit of housework first thing today and then I'm going to wash the outside of the windows before the sun comes up too much. Then I'm off to have a look at the Lincraft sale, I think. Their wool and fabric is down 50% and $40% respectively. Wish I had more money.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-17 07:02:00
4965

We wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we had more money grizzly. Oh yes we would lol. I planted up some more seeds, went to the GP . My tests were so so resulting in me having to have another . I feel fine but she worries ha ha. I went shopping for the most important things I ever buy. Fruit and spices at the Asian Store which incidently I just love browsing in. Then to the chemist, dropped my prescription and raced around the warehouse, buying cat food and vege plants. After that I shot over to the mall to get some more little bags from the $2 shop and sushi for lunch at 2 ha ha. I came home and cooked some Macaroni cheese in the slow cooker while I was ratting about the garden. I checked it and had to add more water than the recipe said but it turned out ok. Let it cool and put it in the fridge for the kids tomorrow and made myself a healthy salad from the garden for tea. I have the baking soda and citric acid etc on the table to make some more chrissy pressies but I need a drink first and my one and only light in the kitchen just creaked which bugged me a bit. If that light fitting goes you will hear me screaming way down in Christchurch. I kid you not. These bladdy lights are a nuisance. They had better be fixed by the weekend or I will blow a fuse lol.

makerealbany - 2012-10-17 21:17:00
4966

Haven't heard of doing macaroni cheese in the slow cooker, before. And mine would set like concrete if I left it till the next day. LOL. My plans came together yesterday. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming and windows all done by 9am. Didn't have much luck at the Lincraft sale though, didn't have any white baby 4ply wool at all and I couldn't find any fabric I could see myself making into a dress for myself. I did find some activity books to add to the boy's christmas stockings though and some sox for myself in the $2 shop. Last of the big spenders. I treated myself to a Mega Choc Shake from Wendy's for lunch and spent the afternoon working it off in the garden and painting the wooden names I bought from TM also for the boys for Christmas. I am currently working on dressing a baby doll in a knitted layette for the shop.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-18 07:10:00
4967

You are having a productive crafty week grizzly yah!!!!1 I cannot do much at night with the lousy lights. Today was and still is a babysitting day although I did manage to plant some more seeds, cook a caserole , do the housework, make some phone calls, mend some garments, go for a walk with the baby in the stroller talking all the way down the road and back ( he would not sleep this morning), nearly get run off the road this arvo when I went to pick up the kids from preschool by one of the school buses that was 2 feet over my side of the road at the top of the hill. I rang the bus company and they will sort out that driver. The lunatic. I have off to bed early because K wakes at the crack of dawn lol.

makerealbany - 2012-10-18 21:33:00
4968

Yesterday I put a stew in the slow cooker for tea and made lemon honey by 8am! LOL. Cut out a jacket for myself, browsed wool and fabric shops for an hour, napped for another hour and played out in the garden again. The weather is certainly not encouraging me out there today although I have a few errands to run. I thought I might make lemon meringue cupcakes to say thank you to my daughter for feeding the girls while we are away this wekend and to take to Mum and Dad as a treat. And there's still the jacket to sew.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-19 07:22:00

Two grandchildren fast asleep and both of them are snoring lol. Had a lazy day after I dropped them off at preschool. Went out for lunch and spent the afternoon with my friends. Met them all at the mall for tea. Brought them home and realized that the Preschool had not put K,s antibiotic in his school bag. Rang and the owner brought it home for me. So lovely of her. I gave her some Cucumber and Pineapple relish, some marmalade and a bag of bath bombs in appreciation. Ran out of seed mix and potting soil so I have to get some tomorrow. My seeds are all popping up so I will take some plants to my daughters tomorrow when I take K home. M has a nice little lot of veges growing and he wants his own ha ha. Talk about competetive. Still waiting for the lights. LOL.GRRRR.

makerealbany - 2012-10-19 22:33:00
4970

OMG my SIL tripped and ripped the internet connection out so add that to the list. I am up in Orewa as my girl is working today so I am online again lol. Was having serious withdrawals. ha ha. Made marmalade again yesterday. It was such an awful day. On Sat I spent time up here cleaning out another garden and then went to babysit my son's two children. Had a blast with baby. She is crawling now. Time goes so fast. My son taught me how to send photos from my mobile to facebook which is great.

makerealbany - 2012-10-22 07:23:00
4971

Your internet connection is certasinly jinxed, don't you think? LOL. We have had a lovely weekend with bade weather not catching up with us till the trip home today thank goodness. Mum and Dad looked well also thank goodness, as they have had some tough health times since we moved them in June, I am hoping to get back at New Years and at Easter next year as I. wants to go to the Air Show too. I came back to find I have 6 pairs of bootees, 7 pairs of baby sox and a beanie to knit for auctions that have closed while I was away!!!! Why do they all come at once after a dry spell of months? I'll be doing them in my sleep! And it's back to work tomorrow as well. Oh well , no rest for the wicked.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-22 18:57:00
4972

It's lovely you got to spend time with your parents grizzly. I treasure every moment with Mum as I so miss my Dad. What a lot of orders. I have been buying soap on TM to go with the bath salts and bombs I have been making. All the girls and their mothers are getting smelies for xmas this year. So easy yeah. I have several nice neighbours that will get them as well. No what about the guys?

makerealbany - 2012-10-22 22:00:00
4973

My Mum always insists on buying for my kids as well as the boys still, even though it's difficult for them to get to shops to browse etc for ideas. I told her to get vouchers this year and specifically petrol ones for my son and DIL now that they are back on one wage.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-23 06:47:00
4974

Mum buys the younger grandchildren pressies during the year as well but we told her not to buy anything for the older ones. She has 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren with another on the way. She does not buy for us either. She could never afford it all lol.

makerealbany - 2012-10-23 15:35:00
4975

Good grief thats a scary amount of Christmas shopping let alone birthdays! How often are you all together?

grizzly4 - 2012-10-23 19:24:00
4976

You sewed the seed for making macaroni cheese the other day, makerealbany! We were so tired after work last night thats what we had. Nothing like comfort food.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-24 07:13:00
4977

Yeah it is usually wedding and funerals , maybe birthdays when we are all together. Some of them live overseas but they are all coming and going just like my kids ha ha. Macaroni cheese was a hit with my 3 year old grandson too. I have spent the day cleaning. I am so sick of cleaning. I want a cleaner too like my daughter ha ha. Car needs a clean but that is on the list for tomorrow. Another pile of ironing needs doing but I am ignoring it ha ha. It was freezing here this morning. Nice now. Going to plant my pumkin seeds after a herbal tea.

makerealbany - 2012-10-24 14:28:00
4978

I recycled my pumpkin seeds from a pumpkin we grew last year for a change this year and planted them in a pot in the green house. They were up within a week so now now need to move them in to the garden. VEry pleased it's Thursday already as I am knackered, worse when I think of all the things happening between now and the end of the year. So much for feeling great after a week off, there was no easing back into it at all this week. I booked a bellydancing tutor for the women's group yesterday. We had so much fun but it felt like a full hours work out afterward. LOL. She was such a lovel lady we will get her back next year and she does henna sessions as well. I love all these new things we can do.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-25 07:29:00
4979

Me too grizzly I love trying new things. Cooked Butter Chicken from scratch last night. Really easy and so much cheaper. My daughter cooks Indian Food beautifully. She had an excellent teacher sigh. Still expect him to walk in the door. K never stops asking for him. So sad. Had to roll out of bed this morning as the old back objected to the gardening. Darn it. Crunching and screaming today. Got bubs till 11 only thank the Lord. He has painted, used stickers and been on the ipad to play puzzles and read some stories. Only 2 and he knows his way around the phone and the ipad.

I have worked 10 till 6 all week this week , we are down one staff member so having to cover shifts. I applied for the 2ic job at work and had my phone interview today, it went well , i think....... If i get the job i wont be able to work Monday at Purple Patch or go to womans group anymow, i'm gonna miss Grizzly :(

suzy59nz - 2012-10-25 20:06:00
4981

I've only had 3 partners on a Monday morning shift over the 21 years I have worked at the Patch. Not bad for a voluntary organisation really. Will miss Suzy though, we had some laughs. And of course she will get the job, more fool them if she doesn't.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-26 06:52:00
4982

Good for you suzy. Hope you enjoy Mary Poppins and get the new job!!!!!!

makerealbany - 2012-10-26 19:58:00
4983

That is good grizzly. 3 partners in 21 years!!!!!! You just reminded me I was supposed to return a call from you know who when I got a spare moment. Ha ha got the call beofre the wedding and forgot. How sad and naughty of me. Had a great day today. Sunny up here. Had the last facial from my birthday pressies. Lovely. Dropped off a container of food and basic toiletries for a needy family I heard about in our area. Mum is sick and had to give up work, 2 kids and poor dad has just got a second job to try and cope financially. I belong to a community group who look after each other. We swap between ourselves and share stuff. We have 60 members now.

makerealbany - 2012-10-26 20:08:00
4984

Now that's a great group to belong to, a wonderful project. Did you have to provide the goodies yourself that you took to the family, or were they supplies from a collection point?
We did well on our stall yesterday, thank goodness as it's a bit slow at the shop at present. Hopefullly it's the lull before the Christmas storm. I waved to Suzy as she went past this morning on her way to the airport. LOL. I'm up early as usuasl as I. is working today unfortunately so it's housework and organising tea for family today. (And bootees and sox to knit).

grizzly4 - 2012-10-27 07:10:00
4985

I provided the food myself. Others gave what they could to a Collector who delivers it. That family is ok now. I also gave toiletpaper, toothpaste, tissues and detergent. I remember how hard it was when my ist hubby died and I had the 5 kids to provide for. Congrats on the stall. I have scones in the oven and muffins on the way. Did 2 loads of washing but the weather is not what it is supposed to be. Sunny!!!!! Never mind I will peg it out and hope the wind blows ha ha. My daughter bought herself a new lawnmower and weedeater. The weedeater is so light. I am trying to get my SIL to get one for us. His is too heavy for me. I could do a lot with a light one lol.

makerealbany - 2012-10-27 09:40:00
4986

I had a great day yesterday! It was beautiful weather so did usual loads of washing plus some blankets and the cats beds. I planted another couple of tomato plants in the green house that were left over from work and transferred the pumpkin plants to the garden and helped all 3 grandsons plant one each into pots to take home to grow. They helped wash the cars then we turned on the sprinkler for them to play. Great fun! I made my first pavlova in 20 years and this one worked beautifully, lovely with cream and the first strawberries for the season (Bought though). I am completely over knitting the same bootee and sox over and over and over .......

grizzly4 - 2012-10-28 10:04:00
4987

well back from Auckland, Mary Poppins was great, really enjoyed it and Auckland turned on good weather for us. We walked back to the hotel at 10.20 and it was still nice and warm, the sky tower was lit up purple, just for me lol .
PurplePatch tomorrow, may be my last monday there:(

suzy59nz - 2012-10-28 19:52:00
4988

And another week starts.......

grizzly4 - 2012-10-29 06:51:00
4989

Yah I have an electrician working here. I did some sewing this morning and was about to cook some bread thank heavens I delayed it. Nothing worse than baking and the power gets switched off. I have all sorts of seeds to plant plus seedlings to transplant into bigger pots. Good day for it but I am not moving until the electrical stuff is complete. lol.

makerealbany - 2012-10-29 15:05:00
4990

I now have much better lightening than I had before. Got a sourbread starter going at last. I bought a packet of the spelt starter to experiment. i cook bread in the breadmaker but I also cook bread in the oven. Had tea so going outside now to plant some more seedlings.

makerealbany - 2012-10-29 18:42:00
4991

Lightening?! What sort of job did that electrician do?LOL. I ended up coming home after the shop yesterday morning not feling well. Couldn't get it together all afternoon, just wanted to sleep. What a waste of time.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-30 07:10:00
4992

Ha ha thought I was having a facial again grizzly. The lights are Hologen and really bright but not dazzling. I was able to sew up a cardi without squinting lol. They are soooooooo good. My SIL got different ones for the house and he says mine are way better. ha ha. Been buying soap on TM for my smellies I am giving everyone except the children of course. There is such a variety on here. Have to go to the shops today and the library. Forgot to get some treats for today. M reminded me this morning that she will be calling with the neighbours childrem ho ho. They go to 4 houses including two of their own ha ha.

makerealbany - 2012-10-30 09:07:00
4993

Off we go punting on the River Avon this morning (as long as this fog clears!). I was still off work yesterday feeling under the weather but going back today. Not that I got much rest with contractors compacting the neighbours new driveway and jack hammering the concrete retaining wall that needs to be redone! THey have been working next door for a month now and I am completely over it. This is not earhquake repairs, they decided to have their pool removed and redo their drive. They started again at 6am this morning with the compactor and 2 concrete mixers are now thumping away outside my house.

grizzly4 - 2012-10-31 07:10:00
4994

Would Cake Decorating be considered a craft ? :P

vampiriousmist - 2012-10-31 12:57:00
4995

Oh poor you grizzly. Jackhammers at 6 blow that!!!!!!!Hope you feel better soon. I have been nursing my darn back but still managed to plant out the petunias and trim the box hedges. The kids have just left for their 5 days in Aussi to catch up with their cousins on their Dad's side. I have little K who is 3 with me. He is napping as he is not very well. It is all go with the renovations at his house up at the beach so he would'nt get any rest there. My daughter his Mum just received the investigation report and photos of the Heli crash that her husband died in. It never seems to end for her. Sigh. Thank heavens she has a supportive family. She is still waiting on the court case re her husband's family trust.

makerealbany - 2012-10-31 14:33:00
4996

I would say so vampiriousmist. Anything you can create. I had to bake and decorate 4 wedding cakes for 4 of my children in 13 months!!!!!! What a flurry of activity ha ha. Even had their stepdad icing.

makerealbany - 2012-10-31 14:36:00
4997

Absolutely, Vampiriousmist!
Your poor daughter, it is truly awful what she is being put through. She must be very stressed.

grizzly4 - 2012-11-01 07:36:00
4998

Yes she has had a dreadful time. I was widowed twice and even though it seemed bad at the time it is nothing to what she has had to go through. I believe that is why her little boy gets so many bugs because of the stress. I have him a lot so he can play with his cousins and relax. He has another dreadful bug so I am keeping him inside today creating lol. He loves to jump about outside but it brings on his coughing. He is taking probiotics as well as antibiotic. Was assured one would not cancel out the other. She has a referral to the ENT Specialist to check him out further. He is playing on the leap pad until he wants to paint lol.

makerealbany - 2012-11-01 10:16:00
4999

It must be hard on kids when they get sick a lot. L5 is the crafty one of my 3 grandsons and it's important there is a giraffe theme to what he does. LOL. He painted his plant pot that the pumpkin plant went into last weekend. He spends a lot of time at the crasft table at the after school programme and loves taking things home. B7 is the sporty one and doesn't sit still long enough to do anything else although he is quite into wordfind puzzles etc in the back of the tv guide. He is very theatrical as well so might do well on stage (a bit of drama queen LOL). B4 has the memory of an elephant, he can memorise a song after singing it only a couple of times and he creates amazing imaginary games. I love how they are so different.

grizzly4 - 2012-11-02 07:32:00
5000

I do too grizzly. I took K home to visit Mum then we came back in time for tea. The cleaner was in the house this morning and he says hi to her as he knows her really well now lol. He asked me on the way to his place " Why don't you and Uma(mother) get C to clean your houses Nan and then you will have more time to have fun with me" Ha ha he is 3. When I explained to him we have to pay C because that is her job he said " Oh Uma has to go to work too to pay the bills and buy food and stuff" He is really bright. He is creative but loves the outside as well. We have more gardening to do tomorrow and "worms to find" lol.
