The Christchurch website still has 2019 dates on it. Must be waiting to update their site

so is it cancelled this year. the site i saw had dates of 3rd / 4th oct. 2020. its a pity that the ashburton show was cancelled so early. the way things are going it may well have been able to go ahead.

At this stage the Christchurch model train show is going to be on. Unfortunately we had to cancel the Ashburton model train show early so that anyone involved was notified in enough time to cancel accommodation and travel.

how are the winter layout builds coming along. finally getting back in to mine after months of it sitting gathering dust. current project is making a plough in 1/76 scale. i could only find 1 on the net and it was $170 with tractor. plenty available with trailers, spray units etc. mine will cost $0. just time and a few scraps i had lying around. its not museum quality but still looks pretty good.

Been working on adding details to my layout and finishing some buildings. There’s going to be a model train swap meet and display in Ashburton 20th September so good chance to get some bargains.

As I understand the rules of level 2.. If you can limit the number of people to 100 or less and maintain 2metre distancing and everybody signs in you should be OK.
But all that will create its own problems. If we are lucky we may revert back to level 1 by then. Here's hoping.

slimgym id say if he hasnt got a huge amount of stuff to sell then sell it as a lot but if there's a lot id split it up. might not be the money around to buy a big quantity but if you split it up you might be more likely to sell. i wouldnt start an auction for every loco or wagon. just group a few together and same with scenery, track etc. cheaper smaller items chuck in a box and sell as a lot. ive sold stuff that way and done well out of it. what you may think is rubbish may be just what someones looking for.

bit of a pain setting up auctions and trade me take more than what i feel is a fare portion but can be a good way to get it sold. there is of course another site where you can sell it free.

im guessing swap meet at tinwald will be cancelled. if it is can you organisers try again in a few weeks rather than cancelling it all together. how about the week before or after the chch train show.
