#Post

Well, I'm back from delivering a care basket to Mr D's front porch.
Proper, old-fashioned chicken soup, made from scratch this morn with a good dose of tlc ... garlic bread, charlie's squeezed OJ, vicks & otravine.
Hope it helps!!! Mind you, he went out last night ... in the cold ... to work on a job for a client & he's going back tonight to finish the job. And he thinks I gave him the cold? Men!!! ;)

lol - Julie ... NO COMMENT!!! :D

Hi all,
very wet here today. I'm still in my pj's & dressing gown because I sat down at a wasgij puzzle I've been working on for the last week, while I ate my breakfast ... and got stuck there!!!
Feeling very indulgent :)
Puzzle finished now so I'll be civilised and have my shower & get dressed soon.
Hopefully Mr D is feeling better ... he was totally blown away by my care basket :)
We're going out to dinner tonight (where is a surprise for me) then on to see the movie 'Inception' afterwards.
I'm looking forward to a good evening!

Pam - having the shop & getting to regularly unpack new stock ... must feel like Christmas every day :)
I don't envy the paperwork though!

On Monday my daffodils started nodding their yellow heads and today Mother Duck and her 7 offspring came calling and with the sun shining how could I not feel spring-like? Charlie, Ziggy really is so adorable and cuddly looking-what joy he must bring you all. Are the slippers and socks all intact? Glad all is going so happily for you Winnie-any jobs advertised that you would like to do? Nice to hear there are Englishmen who do impulsive hugs., he must be thrilled to have you as his tenant. Thinking of your garden pots-I grew patio tomatoes last year, all that was left late in the season and was very pleased, will do them again. Grew about 40cm and fruit bigger than those little ones.

lol - ellie ...
well, everyone who knows me, knows I like surprises so definitely a recipe for me :)
I can remember being shocked discovering my now ex SIL squeezing & shaking the presents under the christmas tree ... couldn't believe anyone didn't enjoy the 'not knowing' that much!!!

Thanks marywea - my landlord is a theatre co director in his spare time so I guess that makes him a bit more exuberant than most. The real bonus is gaining 'Grandpops' as well :) He's a real sweetie!
I've been trolling through TM & have some containers for my 'garden' on my watchlist. The prices are good at the moment while it's preseason so hopefully I'll be all ready to go come spring :)

Hope you had a lovely evening Winnie... I am in awe at how one day you were telling of us about your car trip down and then what seems like only a matter of days ... you have found the perfect flat and a Mr Delish! You go girl sometimes the planets just align.... so to speak.

I have always wanted a dog, but have also always known that we don't have the lifestyle to accomodate one... another thing in the longterm plan... I am just spending the next few years convincing hubby he needs a small one that doesn't drop hair.... rather than a BIG MANS dog... that will need walking for miles.

You talk about the weather, being in an air con office I am completely oblivious to the weather... unless it goes dark outside lol.

Have a great day lovely ladies... Take care JB

Good morning all .... it's started out wet & grey in Chch but the day couldn't be brighter for me :)

I had a fabulous night out!!!!!

We went to http://www.thebicyclethief.co.nz/ for dinner.
It was outstanding!!! I can't speak highly enough of the quality of the food, attentiveness of the staff or cosiness of the restaurant.
The company was very good too ;)

As for the movie ... a great concept but we found some of the action scenes overly long. Still, I highly recommend it & rate it 8.5/10. If you enjoyed The Matrix then you'll enjoy Inception.

Not sure what I'm going to do with my day yet - will probably call by the apartment later & check on progress. Hopefully the plumber got the loo & handbasin installed yesterday and things are getting to the final tidy up so I can start moving in on Saturday.

Thanks for all the positive wishes and thoughts from all of you ... I'm sure it's helping with how everything is falling into place for me.
Have a happy day :)

charlieb - the waiter explained they were trialing a new menu & apologised for having a simple paper print out instead of a proper bound one.
I had a wild mushroom & gorgonzola risotto which was rich & creamy & mmmmm.
Mr D had a bacon, pear & gorgonzola pizza which he took half of home as he wasn't very hungry with his 'man flu'.
I'll definately be going back!

Yes - sort of Pam ... but it's an 'intelligent' movie too. Folks who like the kind of action movie where you don't need your brain in gear would leave this one feeling very confused! lol

I thought the website was great ... refreshingly different!
The menu is the old one so a little different to what we had to choose from. Same style of food though.
The worst thing for me is .... it's only 500-600m from my apartment!!! Oh the temptation ;)

Pam - I think I'd rather stay on the customer side of the counter.

I've been at my apartment for a few hours today ... helping LL carry some furniture & bits up the stairs. Better me than 'grandpop' ... the stairs are quite steep & only 1/2 a tread wide!
Did a bit of cleaning too - and can hopefully move some boxes over there on Saturday. I'm so excited :)

Lol Pam ... I think I'm going to need to get anyone who comes to my place for a drink to sign a disclaimer before they go to leave! The stairs could definitely be lethal after a glass or 2 ...!

Thankyou charlie for your kind words, its so nice to post among nice posters,so I am here to stay.
Winnie I am soooo happy for you,a nice flat and a nice man.
We are house hunting at the moment, but are in no hurry,as long as we are out of here before next winter.
Our little foxy needs more room to play, she will be 4 in Dec and is spoit rotten, lol lol.

Hi earthangel4 - thanks.
It's nice to hear another success story from FSO.
My brother, after a difficult time with his 1st wife, found a really lovely lady and she has been part of our family for 4 yrs now. She is everything I could ask for in a SIL & I love her dearly.

I have no idea what the future holds for me yet ... I'm enjoying the journey & making the most of each day.
Mr D is certainly very good for me right now & I'm happy with that :)

As for Pericles Bar ... I used to lurk in a dark corner ... watching the antics ... too timid to join in.
Now I would be elbowing my way past the revellers, to get my order in!
charlieb - you wouldn't have a hope in hell getting fisher off his spot! The seat is molded to the shape of his toosh by now & the bar ring marked from all those glasses of boubon!!!
Anyone else just wouldn't feel comfortable ;)
