A friend with a severely immunocompromised child wants a couple for her gate and front door and hasn't the skills or the printer to produce her own, so I said I'd ask here. She is happy to pay reasonable cost plus post...

Yes, when I was talking to her I said I was going to make one for my door and she said she'd like a couple but not handmade, so I'm hoping someone with an eye for graphic design could do some for us. A4 size, just paper ones that can be posted and then laminated for weather proofing would be fine.

I made our own with Paint.Net, laminated it and velcro dotted to our entrances, worked already I think, got rid of the door to door charity knockers before they knocked.

Unless you are going to request proof of vaccination, a sign doesnt really mean much, as many people will just lie and say they are. As more and more workplaces and public areas require vaccination, and the growing displeasure towards the unvaxxed increases, people who arent vaccinated will just get sneakier about hiding it. Its going to become many peoples dirty little secret.
A sign may stop the occasional person, but I certainly would not rely on it as a method of vetting who has contact with a vulnerable person.

I explained why my friend wanted the sign. Her child is dying. It's a long drawn out process, a sign might help her feel safer. And I'd quite like one too.

This is not a problem for us, but you seem to think its okay to point out the obvious.

It wasnt an aggressive post at all. It certainly wasnt typed in that tone, it was meant in a conversational manner. But I'm not surprised you read it that way. I've been reading these message boards a bit lately and its a pretty vicious site. I guess many of you know each other and theres history that means people react and respond so meanly to each other. Very rarely is there calm discussion or adult-like exchange of thoughts and ideas.

Vaccinations do not prevent people from getting covid. Many who have been jabbed are the ones on the covid lists the govt put out. But this aspect is covered up just like they do overseas.
Using signs to discriminate against healthy New Zealanders is outrageous and only shows ignorance, not educated practice.
It's no different to "No Blacks allowed in this establishment".
Very foolish move with the staggering numbers of deaths from vaccines around the world.

Yes dishonest anti vaxxers will try and lie and cheat the system. Are the end of the day, businesses have the right to only serve who they want to (subject to discrimination laws).

But within a month the vaccine certificate should be up and running so businesses will be easily be able to only admit the vaccinated if they wish to.

Same problem. Everyone is supposed to have printer/scanners these days.

Plus I want a solid sign, not say a laminated piece of paper. I think the anti-vaxxers will much prefer smashing up and kicking around a firm sign than needing to carry scissors everywhere for cutting up the laminated signs. Seriously, it will cause some people to perhaps get aggro over our signs. I can see cars driving past, screeching brakes then running back to my gate and smashing the crap outa my sign. Better buy a dozen.

Some people just put out a sign saying - Beware of the Dog and have a recorded bark/growl go off when somebody opens the gate. Probably will be a hell of lot more effective.

There are metal no entry signs listed, I did consider getting out the nail polish for a bit of editing!

Compare vaccinated deaths with unvaccinated. If you really think, genuinely think, governments around the world are covering things up, there really is no helping you.

Vaccine certs have been around for months, you simply apply to the MOH for one, and they email out a pdf.
