What a terrible situation. It seems the agencies are pretty gutless too with this "Kāinga Ora has received numerous complaints regarding noise and has tried to encourage our customer to show more consideration for neighbours." "has tried to encourage" - should be you keep the property quiet or you'll be evicted and the same with the intimidation. Council, Police etc should've taken immediate action on complaints. Covid shouldn't be the excuse. I too have had complaints to council not lodged with no excuse when I've enquired as to why.

Yeah what's terrible is this goes on all the time and doesn't make the news.
I know a couple that endured hell from their neighbor for years they went down all the avenues but nothing worked. It was a game for the renter in the property next door and he could play the system or anybody as he would have everyone eating out of the palm of his hand. They home owners sold their home to get away from him cost them thousands the relationship nearly broke up and he suffers from PTSD and anxiety now because of the Neighbours games.
I feel so sad for them both because now they have a bigger mortgage and a house that needs work done.
The guy was just evil what he did to them.

These stories annoy me. Where is the social responsibility on the part of Kianga Ora? Houses are no longer a right, they are priviledge.

Would like to see KO + if possible the stupid ministers behind this non eviction policy sued heavily.

Government policies mean that the state is the landlord of last resort and won't evict any tenant, making a joke of the Tenancy Act. Actually enforcing the fines might help?

In my little ideal world, a KO employee should be housed in the middle of any group of KO houses. They would be available at all hours to deal with any issues as they arise.

Pretty simple really - pull the fuse every time they start the noise up. After a few callouts to put it back in, the network company will demand payment.

Why get all steamed up about the legal position - just deal to them yourself.
